Love Da Vinci Eye!This is definitely my favorite app! I’ve had so much fun with it and areas of my art have vastly improved. I now get drawings with tricky compositions right on my first try. It’s especially helpful when drawing animals and people—getting them properly proportioned, with eyes exactly where they belong, and getting the shading just right. The breakdown mode for shading is fantastic, and the strobe feature is also extremely helpful. Any problems I’ve had have received clear and friendly help—and incredibly fast. A tutorial will be made addressing an issue I’ve had, so user needs receive very focused attention and are even welcomed. Da Vinci Eye was a gift, and I was amazed to find out how little it costs. I would gladly have paid several times over its price tag. There’s so much more to this app than I expected, and I’m looking forward to whatever enhancements may be in its future. Love itI first started using the app to try to faithfully replicate my favorite reference photos. But with daily use over the past couple of months, I’ve started using the app to make the shift from drawing “what I know the subject to be,” to observing and drawing the shapes, contours, and shadows in my reference photos, then watching the subjects emerge from those. Didn’t think I would care about the social feature, but I’m finding that I really enjoy it. I’d kind of like to see this expanded a little, if only to give artist the option of writing a line or two about the medium they used or something about their process. It might also be nice to be able to post comments, or DM other artists to ask questions…although I can imagine that going all kinds of sideways, so maybe not. Wonderful App!! ❤️This app is AMAZING!! I absolutely love it! Let me start out by saying I do NOT pay for apps...EVER! For me, it has to be exceptional for me to even want to. But after seeing it on FB I knew this was one I had to have. For me, the hardest part of any drawing is getting my dimensions and proportions right. Once I have that down, I can shade a picture in record time. But I can spend hours just trying to get proportions down. With this app I can sketch out the proportions in record time, leaving me plenty of time to shade the way I want...game changer! Not only that, I can free hand a picture and then use the Da Vinci Eye to check the proportions and see how accurate I am. Top notch customer serviceUpdate: Just had a problem with the app asking me to upgrade with no warning, having used it since December. Sam asked me to reinstall and everything was back to normal. So don’t freak out if you see that when you hit the +Draw button after the update. I was grandfathered in as others just might be. This has to be the best attention I’ve ever received as a customer in the AppStore. Sam is fast and knowledgeable. I’ve loved this app the more I’ve used it. I think I said previously that it won’t necessarily make someone an artist overnight but it sure speeds things up and honestly helps me ‘see’ things better. Simply AmazingTo be completely honest I had very little hope for this and had decided I was not going to get my hopes up when it came to functionality. I figured I had another run of the mill tracing app that I’ve encountered numerous times. Boy was I wrong! This little app is powerful, packing a huge punch in functionality and user ability. It works surprisingly well and there is more you can use it for that just tracing. This app has helped me take my art to the next level by helping me practice and learn how to draw certain things. I want to have other artists helpFirst of I do like this app it’s a great tool to use to learn how to draw there are tutorials and also the AR thing where you can trace drawings however, my biggest gripe is that there are no comment sections or captions to me a big part about art is being able to not only share but to receive constructive criticism to be able to become better I want to be able to ask how can I improve on my artwork and another thing I feel like we should have DMs to reach out and speak to other artists and share and compliment and just have a good community however I do feel like there’s a fine line where hate can be spread but I feel like the positives outweigh the negatives so TL;DR please add comments, captions, and DMs so that way artists can connect and become better artists through that.SlybeastVersion: 3.1.2

Great app. Needs streamlining.Huge time saver to get proportions right when drawing. I love it but I didn’t realize before downloading the app that there would be a lot of extra content. Being able to share your art is cool and all, but if they can make it so that the first thing that pops up is the “Draw Now” function, that’d be awesome. I do not need to wait to load “Today’s Inspiration,” “Featured Products,” etc. Just let me turn those off. Also infuriating is the app’s insistence to default to “Classic” drawing mode, whereas I rely on the AR drawing mode to draw on the go. It shows you AR mode first but before you can select that, it swipes the options to Classic. There’s also no simple way to swap the image you want overlaid in the camera. I love this app!I just drew the best picture ever of my dog... it actually looks like him! This app is great for giving a person confidence in getting started on a drawing. The drawings I’ve done if friends/family look like them, versus what I’ve tried on my own. I think it does help if you have a little experience with drawing and shading, but it’s not necessary (the best advice I received years ago was to only draw what you see, NOT what you know is there!). Making of a true artistThis app has made my life much easier and had brought back the excitement of painting again. I don’t draw or sketch so when I wanted to paint (watercolor) I first had to trace the picture on tracing paper then transfer it onto watercolor paper. With the DVE I only need a glass and pencil to draw my picture directly on the paper. It’s easy to learn but if you have a question it’s answered right away. I was shocked how quickly he responded. Customer ServiceRecently downloaded this app and I was having trouble getting started. I sent an email for help and Sam replied in a very short while. By my email he thought maybe the app wasn’t what I wanted and he would be glad to refund my money. He continued on with how the app worked and suggested I try it out. I’m so glad that I did try it out using his hints on how to get started because I found that it was indeed easy to use and fun for me. I’m not an artist so this app helps me to sketch something that looks real and a pleasure to complete with either acrylic paint or colored pencils. Absolutely useful, even teaches you to freehandYes, it’s a paid app but you have to remember the mechanic functionality it takes to do this. (Programmatic) After using the app to learn drawing , I’m finally at a point where I can simply free hand and loosely my urban sketches. It’s good BUTIt’s a great app, the tools it has are phenomenal- my problem with it though is the AR drawing. It takes FOREVER for the anchor to actually be set and not disappear as soon as you set it down. Very, very, very frustrating. Not to mention that it’s hard to draw as well if you have a normal tripod because the phone has to go up quite high to fit the paper and then at that point you could be standing while drawing, praying you don’t accidentally bump something and have to start over with realigning it. Game changerI love this app, I never felt like I could draw because I couldn’t get the proportions exactly perfect, the speeds up the process so I don’t need to erase nearly as much while nailing the proportions. Definitely worth the price. Insanely amazing app but some tipsThe app is SOOOO helpful. Ive never draw so good in my life! I’m a major Kpop fan and I’ve tried to draw Kpop idols, but I’ve only succeeded once. Life ChangerSince I typically use photo reference, accuracy can be difficult by just eyeing a photo and the process of making a grid is tedious and can kill your motivation. On top of that, many artists including myself, are hesitant to push their line art to the next level once they get it right. Does not work on my iPad ProI just bought it. I open the app and it says I need an update to use it and gives me an update button. I hit the button and it takes me back to the app page I bought and just downloaded it from with no new update. I hit the open button on that page and it start the cycle all over again. Well dang it actually works!I was 1000% skeptical of this especially since there’s no free version to try it out. But I’m impressed with how well it works and, once you get your brain used to where to look, how easy it is to do (especially if you have experience drawing with a Wacom tablet or similar). Enormous time saverI love it. I am a portrait artist, and it is such a quick way of getting the exact likeness of a photo. It eliminates the need for a grid, or tracing paper. It’s OK.There are a couple misleading items in the advertising. It is not a projector. You don’t look through the iPhone or iPad. Those are misleading statements. What actually happens is the iPhone camera is turned on and that image is mixed with the image you want to draw. So you look at the two mixed images on the iPhone screen. You move your pencil on the paper to trace the image on your iPhone screen. Not exactly easy to do but perhaps easier with much practice. Bottom line. It’s OK..PrinterpersonVersion: 3.2.9

Not only does it actually do what it indented, the features presented on it make it easier to maker sure you have your drawing sketch in the exactly place. Enjoyable ExperienceI certainly was unsure if this was going to prove a benefit to me but I’m happy to say it has. Simple to use and not unlike using a projector or Lucida drawing aid. Patience and practice is essential to get the results you want. It removes the struggle to get accurate proportions through simple marking and allows you then to focus on drawing or painting your subject. Best of all, it removes that first step of getting over the intimidating ‘blank canvas’. After too long an absence, I’m getting my drawing arm back into practice and slowly getting results that satisfy me. Word of caution, don’t let it become a crutch. Amazing. Be a Master Artist in no time.Hi gang When I first started using DVE I wasn’t very impressed but let me explain. I tried both modes but whenever I got the picture just perfect I went to zoom in for fine detail and the whole picture moved. Needless to say after trying numerous times I gave up. I decided to try again and found out my problem and this is with all the modes on the bottom ie : move, hide and opacity. These selection tools when red are active and they will move either your image or the camera/canvas. Make sure when you have your size all set and perfect to turn off the move selection. Leaving opacity on doesn’t affect the image movement at all. I love this tool and you can view some of my miniature drawings and painting in the Feed section of the DVE app. No I am not affiliated with this company or apple etc etc. I just love this program and want to share it with the world. I recently fractured my right (dominant ) wrist and am in a cast for 8 weeks. I’ve been using the app to draw with my left hand with amazing success. Does it come with a chiropractor?I really wanted to like this but find I have to contort myself in the strangest static position that after only a few minutes my neck starts to hurt. Not what was advertised and unhelpful for what I wantedGot it because I need help with scaling and being able to just get the shapes I want before sketching would be super helpful, but you’d think that with the app advertising something like that, you’d be able to right? There are some pictures they allow you to choose from their catalog but they’re limited and they wouldn’t let me use my own photo’s without paying a pretty pricey subscription for a simple, small feature I wanted that I originally thought would be free. This app tries WAY too hard to be more than it should be. Throwing extra, useless “features” in your face and basically not allowing you to do anything without paying - which is fine at the end of the day but I don’t appreciate my time being wasted because I’ve been lied to. Lame reason you need to give your personal detailsWhy 1 star? Had zero issues with paying for this app. In fact IF it does what it says it can do, it’s well worth the $4.99 fee. So why 1 star. After down loading the app and opening. The app wants you to give your personal details by filling out their form, email, etc.... So you go to FAQ and see why the want your email address and for you to set up a password. In the FAQ you need to scroll down to something like point 5&6 to find out why. Then when reading it, even says make up a fake email address if you want to. When Apple sends my receipt, I will be asking for a full refund. This is a LAME app based on requiring the user to create an account with them AFTER you paid the $4.99 fee. I do not need to share my art work with others and do not care to see their work. If the app developer wanted to create an opt-in type “group” that would be acceptable. However, to open the app and needing to automatically join? NO. There is ZERO need for this developer to have my email address. Their lame excuse of saying its for advising the user of app updates, is just that LAME- Apple already does that. Have to look at phone to draw!I’ve been drawing almost my entire life, but having to look at the phone but draw on the paper is extremely difficult and my drawings are turning out TERRIBLE! This app does not project onto the paper, and the video makes it seem like that’s what it does, which is what I need. I need the image to project onto the paper, which this does not do. I’m sure if I spent a month trying to undo how to draw in my mind to do it this way, but the learning curve is not as easy as all these reviews. And I can actually draw! Curiosity killed the cat...This app struck me as helpful for really intricate details for my artwork (like in water), so I decided to pay the 5 bucks. What I discovered is that your depth perception is challenged with this app. You’re looking at a phone to see what you’re drawing, not at the paper. Because of this you have to work so slowly, when initial sketches should be loose and relatively quick. If you want to genuinely improve your drawing skills, draw from life/videos. You’re not going to get better by tracing with an app. I’d consider this a fun time killer for people who are not serious about becoming better artists.
