Cubasis 3 - DAW & Music Studio Positive Reviews

Crazy improvementWow worth every penny works fest and GR8. just wold love multilayer sampling and combining sounds in the sampler and controlling the midi ccs thru midi I’m sure A lot of musician Will buy it also sf2 etc import thanks I really love it. on Cubasis 2 I had Maybe 2 months was just little hard but this won is just crazy thanks still needs some fixes stability the mute gets frozen some times the glue doesn’t behave well wold love to be able to control volume and knobs thru midi also DSP has to be fixed and in app plugins like wave crackles when using microsonic bass crackles some Times will have to wait a bit for a meager update. :UPDATE V301: Hi thanks for the update still waiting for some midi options mainly for when starching an audio should be detailed not unclear also to be able to see track in full screen the update is a GR8 1 this shows Cubasis is working hard the cpu can be a little better it’s much smother after new update but still sometimes spikes up also would love to see running Cubasis on external usb thru camera connection kit thanks keep up you GR8 work thanks UPDATE: on my new iPad Pro still crashing maybe because iOS 15 also wold be nice if I can export individual tracks and each track on Their own length UPDATE: I know that you can do separate tracks, but when doing this option, it exports according to the longest track and the rest is empty so please if you can fix it. also it would be nice if the resolution of the tracks gets updated thanks.Version: 3.3.3

The best! Period.Wow I have dreamed of a DAW like this one on mobile device for years. I dare anyone to name one that comes even close for audio recording mixed with midi. This is a portable recording studio. The integration with third party effects and virtual instruments is so smooth. I guess most of the bad reviews were left months ago when the app was still in its infancy but really, this app today deserves nothing less than 5 stars. I have used cubase on desktop my whole life and trust Steinberg to deliver awesome products. Even if the app starts with bugs they eventually make you a satisfied customer. You can even tell by the way almost every review here is address by a human. Try finding many developers like that. This app looks beautiful on my iPad screen. It has all the essential features cubase has, down to the colorization of individual tracks. The way files, settings and features are managed and selected is pure genius. I could go on and on but i will let you judge for yourselves after downloading the lite version if you want to try first. I can safely recommend to any serious musician wanting to have a reliable mobile recording studio to just close their eyes and get Cubasis 3. Most issues you may have will eventually get resolved because the devs are listening, so what do you have to loose?.Version: 3.1.1

I-pad Pro + Cubasis 3 = (Studio Quality Recording DAW)I’m a life-long Musician ( Recording Artist ) I’ve been into every Music recording App on the Apple I.O.S Store and nothing has come close to Cubasis 3. As soon as I could afford it I just bought the App and all the In app FX purchases , ( and now with the extra Halion and Neo Fm Synth ) Purchases. I wish I knew about this App. before I bought half the AppStore in random synth apps and other squirrelly multitrack recording Set-ups. I must’ve spent at least $1,000 But Im not sorry cause I can use all those as well for plug in instruments inside Cubasis. I use “Geo shred “and all my “Module “ Pianos and synths . The quality is just getting Crazy -Good , and the new Halion and Neo FM sounds ,…rival all those other sounds I bought for their higher quality sound. This App is way ahead of the pack and is the closest you can get to a Pro tools or Studio-1 style / professional-Laptop D.A.W. For me I’ve found that the I-pad itself will falter first ( in CPU Performance) before Cubasis will. 1 trick is if you need to add so many tracks that it gets buggy ,..(which hasn’t happened to me,…) you can stop at around 15- 20 tracks ,..then mix them down to one stereo track on a empty song and continue to add 15- 20 more. This Things a monster and has features and secrets I’m still learning ..Version: 3.6.1

Almost perfect. For a mobile DAW, this is pretty packed. If you’re a serious hobbiest or if you’re full time job is music production, this DAW has it. It has its limitations naturally, but 80% of composition and production can be done here. There are relatively basic features that I am surprised are missing: visual view of envelops on each track, and song key/scale setting. For the audio envelopes, the app offers ways around this, however, it would be nice to see the envelope right on the track itself, and be able to adjust the points right there. For the song key/scale setting - most if not all DAWs have this feature. Even basic ones. So why it’s missing here, beyond me. Last gripe I have is with the inter app function - it doesn’t work, bottom line. It freezes. Crashes. Doesn’t matter which app I’m using. I have the latest iPad and using updated ios. This feature does not work. Otherwise, solid release and happy to support this in the future. It sounds like the developers listen and that’s a big plus..Version: 3.0.2

GreatI think like many of us hoping Apple will soon provide Logic for the newer M1 iPad Pro’s, this is a fair breath of fresh air. I like the ease and familiarity and features of Logic on Mac, but Cubasis does provide some top tier features for an on the go feel. An iPad could essentially be your studio centerpiece (with appropriate USB hubs and such for expansion), and with it’s in app purchases, and third party plug ins, (ideally iK’s MixBox) you can track and mix a song from front to back anywhere with some very good quality plugins. It’s features and highlights are already highlighted, and they’r very handy. Of course the virtual mixer, it’s very easy to track and add plug ins, and polish things up with minimal gear. A midi controller, a decent mic, and a decent interface with decent monitors, can all go a long way to now make mobile pro production a breeze. I 100% recommend, and give it a 4 out of pure stinginess of hoping Logic will some day find its way on here, as if I had to choose between mobile producing on an iPad with Cubasis or Logic, I’d have to go the Logic route mainly from personal preference and experience, and not at all a jab down towards Cubasis. Great job Steinberg!.Version: 3.4.3

Recording audio over usb no longer works.Update: The recording of audio over usb works as it should… this was my fault. I turned off the microphone. I guess that is part of the chain of recording the external hardware tracks. Thanks to the great people at CUBASIS they found out what I had did. Recording audio over usb from external hardware synth (Yamaha Modx) no longer works. I have been using CUBASIS 3 since it came out. Unless you guys have changed the way you set it up. It no longer works. And yes I’m aware of the video Dom Sigalas put out. That is the way I first learned how to set it up. There is also a newer video by The Sound Test Room (CUBASIS 3.2 Tutorial - How To Record & Playback MIDI & Audio For Your Hardware Synths). It is no longer useful. I originally purchased this app because of that one fact… that it would work with my Yamaha products since Steinberg is a subsidiary of Yamaha. If the Developers need any info all they need to do is go by theses videos above and they will see they no longer work..Version: 3.5

Decent DAW, I highly recommend. Amazing what I can do on my PHONESo I’ve been working with this software since Cubase 5 and I must say this app is absolutely amazing for a mobile app, I feel way more “unlimited” in this app than I did with GarageBand & sequencing is such a breeze.. BUT what I would take this app OVER THE TOP for me would be two simple things: One, it was be AMAZING to have TIME MARKERS. So much easier to see where I’m at in my project if i can just label a “Verse” “Chorus” “Bridge” etc and if that becomes implemented we should be able to have the option to click on our “verse” or “chorus” and just copy the whole section & paste it to where we need it. It would speed up workflow so much.. And of course, more VST’s. I loved HalionOne as a stock engine but I’m assuming Microsonic is essentially the answer to that? But other than that, I LOVE this app and it’s definitely my go to until I can build an actual set up with Cubase 11. Thanks for satisfying my creative urges yall are seriously amazing..Version: 3.3.1

Great mobile DawI started muaic production on my iPhone, then took it o an ipad, but i felt like the result of it was weird. I always had quality sound problems, and there were some stuff i didnt like. Then i tried cubasis 3, wich is the best daw i used by far. It runs smoothly (sometimes overpwering it bugs it, but i just need to close the app and reopen it). I like working my drums on beatmaker 3, and producing, organizing and mixing on Cubasis. Ive made like 30 songs in the past year and i cant complain, love the plugins that are available, plus the interface is very well done and comfortable to use. I appreciate the last update, i can see how commited is steinber, keep dropping those jewels. The only thing i dont like is the microsonic instruments, i mean theyre alright, but you cant control ASDR, the pitch, or other cool stuff like fx. I find myself using Model D and Synthmaster 2, but i wished i had some quality “normal” instruments instead of using synths..Version: 3.5.1

Absolutely perfectOk guys, this is a significant step above the previous version, which was nearly perfect to me and has been good to me for more than fifteen full length albums. This new one has amazing updates, and yes a TAD BUGGY (freeze exports sometimes not how intended) but as a chip musician, and experienced producer on a multitude of platforms and hardwares, all of the bugs are dismissible, Cubasis 3 remembers where I last was, right before a crash, and the chord editor is so incredibly powerful, I can’t complain about anything. The previous version had bugs with some internal effects, and those glitches are gone. Those glitches were way more annoying than the minor bugs I get in this one. More efficient than audio pro in my book and more dynamic and organized than any other app of its kind. Amazing work guys. I would pay a LOT more money if you ever wanted to add visual elements or video editing capabilities to this software..Version: 3.0.2

CubasisI have had Cubasis for years and I have enjoyed watching it grow into an even more fantastic application. On my iPad Pro it is a thing of awe and wonder. It is so powerful and it does so much. I learn something new almost daily. Originally I never came close to what Cubasis was capable of doing. As a guitarist, Cubasis was a great way to lay down a few fast tracks. Jam Origin Midi Guitar opened the door to being able to play soft synths with a guitar. Cubasis allows me to multi track to my hearts delight. There has never been a more exciting time to work with sound. I can carry my music studio with me wherever ever the muse takes me. Cubasis 3 nearly explodes with potential. I have a lot to learn which is actually very exciting. Cubasis has brought many things together l have been working on for awhile. It’s like getting the sonic circus under one tent. Carl R..Version: 3.4.3

Could easily have been 5 stars, but weird design choices hinderThis is a great app for the most part. About everything you would expect from a DAW that you would even find on a desktop. However, there are 2 borderline absurd oversights for this DAW that will keep me in BeatMaker 3 and from purchasing any IAPs until these are fixed: pencil support and MIDI learn! It’s insane that you can use the pencil for some things but not others, and for iPadOS producers this is basically like telling a Mac user to use only a ball mouse from the 90s instead of whatever mouse they choose. Not having MIDI learn is super crippling as far as automation is concerned. It prevents proper use of knobs and faders defecates on potential or existing workflows. EDIT: Developer response leaves me hopeful. When these 2 features get me implemented I will up the review to 5 stars, which is what it will deserve then. For now I put it up to 4 stars from 3 for the promise of these features being implemented and the developers listening..Version: 1.0

Good But With Intolerable FlawsCubasis 3 is a decent DAW for iPad, but there are several flaws that absolutely ruin the user experience for me. Select Doesn’t Work: First, choose the select tool and then trying to draw a box around events just doesn’t work. It looks like it tries to start to draw the bounding box, but then it just disappears. That makes it impossible to select MIDI notes you want to work with and ruins the piano roll editor. Merge Clips: if you’re in loop mode and overdub MIDI parts, it records new clips on every pass but puts them on top of existing clips. The new clips, on playback, mask the clips below them from being selected. You can hear them, but you can see them or select them without moving the clips on top out of the way first. So, consequently, when you select what you think is a whole part to copy and paste it, you’re only selecting the top layer or your last recording pass. There’s no way I can find to flatten the clips into one..Version: 3.5.1

5 Star potential with a lot of 1 star issuesFirst off, this DAW is very likely to take over as my main workhorse..... eventually. I really do love it and enjoy using it. The workflow feels good, a very inspiring GUI, decent enough built in instruments but nothing spectacular, but hey, that’s what AUV3 is for. With that said, this needed wayyyyy better testing before being released. It’s Beta quality at best. Before you buy make sure to check out the Steinberg forums for the known issues, and maybe wait for this long anticipated 3.0.1 update that is taking entirely too long. There’s no pencil support, copy/pasted midi events don’t play, a whole laundry list of little issues I won’t go in to, but they’re all there on the forum so check it out before spending the money. Aside from that, it has massive potential, and the devs have been good about communicating with the backlash with promises of this future update. If they do a good job correcting the issues this has a great chance of being a game changer. Don’t take my negativity towards the issues wrong way. This is/will be a S.O.L.I.D. DAW, it just simply isn’t a finished product yet, and they probably shouldn’t have rushed it out the door, but I understand the business model of hitting the holiday season when everyone is spending those Apple store gift cards. Hopefully that money goes into further development, and finishing what they started. If they do I will gladly be changing this to a 5 star review..Version: 1.0

The best DAW for iOS - and perhaps all aroundDon’t get me wrong. I love GarageBand/Logic, and seamless integration with Apple. However, when talking about people who know the business, look no further than Steinberg. Cubasis/Cubase is the best DAW all around. It is and always has been the most powerful. Now, Cubasis 3 is by far the best and only DAW any professional would use on an M1 iPad. As a former Cubase user, I really regret switching over to Logic Pro as my main DAW, but I sold my license and e-licenser so that ship has sailed. However, when recording in my iPad I no longer use GarageBand to port over to Logic. Now I use Cubasis 3 exclusively since 3.5 update. People used to rave about the terrible and paid-rated Auria Pro by WaveMachine Labs. People don’t know its abandonware and the developer and coder who made the company sold it to some ragtag bunch that are just reaping in the cash from App Store sales because no one says anything about it online (or they are really that good at hiding their DirtyScam). Whatever the case is, NEVER buy Auria Pro or Drumperfect Pro, same people….buy Cubasis 3 and Lumbeat RDM. Best investment I made as an iPad iOS musician. PS Cubasis 3.5 is such a good update that I was even thinking about repurchasing Cubase just to have the portability from iOS to macOS..Version: 3.5

Hands down best/fun DAW for the ipadGet this app and don’t think twice about it. With each upgrade, it just gets better. I have been using DAWs for close to 20 years and this app is so intuitive. I constantly tell folks trying to get into electronic music and music production, if you can’t afford to buy a bunch of gear, this is a really great option and will give you really high quality results. Wanna do a podcast with full production? 😎 I think with anything it can always get better though. It would be nice to add a video input option, so you could score to a film on the go. The new M1 chips are insane and take some serious processing. Tip of the hat Steinberg, thank you for so many countless hours of creativity. Cheers!.Version: 3.5.1

I want to like it…Actually, I want to love it, but I can’t. They finally get a UI that’s almost perfect, and then they throw in these god awful gradients that look like they’re from 2006, and these waveforms that look ripped out of Audacity 1.0. The rest of the UI is this really lovely, flat UI. Clean, spacing is decent, and then BOOM, 2006 slaps you in the face with these terrible gradients and old wave forms. Why not let us make those flat, and update the waveform when we’re zoomed out to look like SoundCloud or any other audio app that produces modern looking waveforms. Then when we zoom in, we can have the ugly, but more accurate looking waveform? Give us some options at least. FL Studio’s mobile tracks are beautiful. But so far, they’re the only ones who’ve got it right. I hope that these fellas get around to making the tracks match the rest of the UI instead of mixing 2020 flat design with 2006 web 2.0..Version: 3.3.3

Cubasis > Computer DAWCubasis is amazing, it’s so much more fun to mix down live recordings of my band away from the computer. Cubasis has all the features I need: - Easy navigation with two fingers (way better than a computer) - Can export a section of a project (annoyingly can’t do this in garage band) - Can use plugins for mastering/mixing - Store projects and exports in folders - Can use any audio interface (like a x32 mixer) and I have had no trouble with >12 channels recording at once - the user interface doesn’t get in the way like garage band does The one feature I desire is the ability to use iCloud from the app (beyond iPad backup), this would let the iPad offload projects automatically to prevent your iPad from filling up..Version: 3.5.1

A traditional dawI’ve purchased many iPad app daws, this is by far the most traditional desktop-class daw experience out of all of them. If you simply want a linear style daw that your used to working with and not another ‘new take’ on a daw, this is the one you are looking for. I’m primarily using it to edit and process custom samples for loading onto external gear. Very couch friendly experience, editing samples has never been so comfortable. Only negative for me is some of the ui menu options don’t feel like they were put in intuitive locations, where you go to import and render audio is a bit of a head scratcher at first. Although this could just be my lack of familiarity with Cubase workflow in general. 9/10.Version: 3.5

Almost did it!First you charge us for the upgrade, I said well it’s a daw on an Ipad, so it's understood, but then I see you took out something’s to add on others and I said ok. Please understand, this is not a hobby for me,this is about making the transition from a computer to the iPad and if you say it’s a daw, then give me the full Monty, I paid for it. Outro! Why doesn’t Cubasis 3 have midi clock or any sync in for use with controllers or sync with computer. I don’t get it. and I’m noticing many bugs appear that should have been corrected with updates. please give us sync in and a select all tracks option. Other than that it’s a great app, but you left out some things and still need to correct others..Version: 3.1.3

Alright so...Alright so, Ive read every review before buying and pretty much knew what i was getting into when purchasing. Coming from Cubasis 2, it seems like the same app but it’s not. I understand this which is why i have no problem paying. The problem is the fact that you guys released this app without fully testing it out. Apple Pencil support is there but it doesn’t FULLY work. Most of the things in the program work for me so it’s fine and i enjoy the new features (I literally bought it for the mixer lol). I will wait for an update so that way the Apple Pencil works. It’s a new program yes but it doesn’t feel new at all. That’s why people are asking for a discount. If you guys would just fix what should be fixed then this could easily be the best DAW but I think you guys are more focused on money vs your customers being happy. Happy customers = more money..Version: 1.0

Some added functionality in certain areas but...It might be a little early to “rain in the parade” but only after a few days with Cubasis 3, I have found some puzzling aspects to Cubasis 3. 1) while there is complete apple pencil functionality with Version 2, V3 doesn’t respond AT ALL. I’m hoping (and praying) that someone just forgot to tell V3 to read the pencil. Otherwise, why in the world would you take functionality away from an upgrade situation. if I missed a button to push somewhere to activate blue tooth devices, please pass this info on because I could find no reference to this. 2) the logic in taking away scrubbing capability? 3) with V2, when you would press on a track to enter edit window, the midi information would be presented so you could immediately start working with it. With V3, the midi info is “smashed” together in a global view and requires a number of tedious moves to get it to any form of a working view. this HAS to be a glitch or bug. 4) upon initial work with V3, it appears your haven’t really added any new functionality in working with midi. Is there some reason why the capability to use either outboard or inboard midi controller in step time input has not been included. All for now, thanks.Version: 1.0

Great mobile DAWThis is a really well-polished app with a great feature set. It runs smoothly and implements most of the features that you would expect from a DAW. I think since this app is at a more professional level then many iOS music production tools, it is held to a higher standard (and hence the rating). I do however think there are some low hanging fruits in terms of potential updates. Side-chain functionality in the compressor is pretty essential. The whole send mechanism is a bit unintuitive and can see improvement. Maybe an “aux channel” model might be more appropriate and less limiting. Otherwise, I think the app does a good job of handling the intreraction challenges and opportunities found in a mobile touch device..Version: 1.0

Lots of promise but the launch version is unusably buggyFirst let me say I'm very excited about the promise of this new version. Steinberg had clearly listened to or feedback and that's not something I would have said 10 or 15 years ago. Unfortunately I'm not going to be able to play with it over the holiday break. I'm seeing bugs that make it unusable. On my iPad pro I can usually run tons of instruments and efx before I need to freeze or bounce. With just a couple of instruments running it slows down so badly the GUI becomes sluggish and glitchy. Freezing the track does help but it breaks my workflow as I have to keep freezing and unfreezing to tweak sounds. Now way I could get a song finished like this but at least I can learn the new features.. Hopefully bug fixes will come quickly..Version: 1.0

I was expecting something more optimized by this point in the apps lifecycle.Picked up Cubasis 3 and all of the APIs for the Xmas sale thinking that with the last update that they had worked out all of the apparent bugs from its launch a year ago. I was mistaken. I am running a 10.5 iPad Pro with 14.3 and even with one AUV3 running alone inside of Cubasis I am getting crackles. If I open 3 or 4 AUV3s Cubasis becomes completely unstable and unusable (for instance Nanostudio 2 I can run 10-20 AUV3 instruments and Fx before it starts to crackle). It seems Cubasis 3 is unoptimized for the 10.5 iPad Pro. I’ve tried re installing, changing the latency, various different AUV3s trouble shooting but the problems remain. Also, I am unable to record audio routed in via Audiobus to an audio track. I’ve used Nanostudio, AUM, and GarageBand over the last 3 years extensively, planning on replacing GarageBand with Cubasis in my workflow mostly to record vocals and audio track capabilities still not possible in Nanostudio 2. I will stick with GarageBand and Nanostudio until this hopefully is resolved quickly with an update. I will updated my review if the problems are worked out. Right now the 60$ I just dropped on this is pretty much a waste..Version: 3.2

Despite a shaky release and some growing pains, Cubasis 3 realizes it’s potentialUPDATE SEPT. 2020: Cubasis 3 has been a joy to work with and more & more this year anytime I start getting an idea or start screwing around with something it’s Cubasis 3 that I load up. It’s layout and ease of use make jamming and experimenting move into composing and then recording and mixing seamlessly. Excellent. I began using iOS Music Production apps in 2015 and now use iOS exclusively in my home studio. I used Cubasis 2 for many different projects, it’s features on par with it’s big brother Cubase. With this new 3rd version, Steinberg has increased the power, features and performance capabilities of Cubasis to make it. a pick ‘em between V.3 and Auria Pro or the title of Best iOS DAW. Highly recommended..Version: 3.1.3

I Pad Super DAW.Hi, Truly MIDI Learn needed, I can use it from my MIDI controller, but I did I lot of testing, sending MIDI notes from Cubasis 2 to act inside Cubasis 3, or interfacing both with MIDI Flow possibilities, and nothing happened, any MIDI app could do that?. Thank you. Hi, Lars, so glad about your response. Well, I did a lot of testing, it’s about sending notes from Cubasis 2 for triggering things in Cubase 3. It does trigger note events from the midi keyboard, but it do not recognize it coming from Cubase 2. Best. Hi, Lars, as mater of fact, I used Cubasis 2 for sending midi notes for triggering loops in Sample Tank, Lumbeat Drum apps and Infinite Looper, and all had worked. Best wishes. Hello, Dear Lars, thank you very much for your kind answer and support. Cubasis is simply great, always growing as a DAW. Well, I tried this remote midi work, but no response, Cb2 to Cb3, or adding MidiFlow, I will continue testing. Only that I erased midi notes in Cubasis3, but one note is stuck, no matter what I do, erasing tracks, closing the I pad, C-2 maintain working. Thanks again for your support, I will do more testings with Audio Bus and Ape Matrix, and I’ll be communicate if something happens. Please, have a good time..Version: 3.3.1

Love it!Update: Still loving it! After trying Logic Pro for IPad I have a new appreciation for CB3. The workflow in CB3 is such a pleasure nice to rediscover what you already know… I’m doing another review. I couldn’t recommend this after the initial release but now it works fine for my needs. I was very unhappy as I was unable to use the app for nearly three months. I certainly won’t challenge the developers to a lifetime of bitter hatred since they have worked hard to make the app great again. I now have transferred my IAP’S and all my projects. Once again I love this app and it’s my go to app. This is a great app with great support. Buy with confidence!.Version: 3.5.1

The best iPad DAWI came from Logic and feel right at home. Actually, it would be hard to go back to Logic (if it ever came to iPad) because I love Cubasis 3! Edit: Had to update my 5 star review to a 3 star review. I’ve put 100+ hours into this app, and I continue to use it everyday. There are too many short-comings. I thought all of my audiokit apps were buggy because of the constantly crackling sounds i get out of Cubasis 3, even after trying each of the latency/buffering settings for extended periods of time. The crackling does not happen in beatmaker 3. Cubasis 3 is great if you don’t load any 3rd party auv3’s, but the second you do, some midi wont trigger, the audio will take a massive hit, constantly crashes. CONSTANTLY crashes. Loading a project with more than 7 instances? Crash. It does a good job on saving where you were, can’t fault them there. If this app didn’t make out to be the best daw on iOS, it would be 5/5 app. Since I’m trying to make this my one-stop shop for producing, I need to bring my review down. Would love to move it back to 5 stars. I am running a 2020 iPad Pro (12.9) on the latest firmware. I couldn’t have a stronger iPad, I can’t imagine what this program would be like on a lesser-iPad..Version: 3.2.1

My go to DAWI started producing music on iOS and was using Cubasis 2 (and later 3) to mix/master tracks. Sadly my iPad broke and I ended up moving to Logic Pro for about 4 months before getting another iPad to move back to Cubasis. Fantastic workflow, really great interface I cannot recommend it enough. Also if you’re on a tight budget getting Cubasis and AUV3s are significantly cheaper than buying the desktop plugins. I was looking at spending $2,000 to rebuy my eventide and fab filter plugins that I already owned on iOS. Again, I have no issues with Cubasis. I ended up going to desktop producing for awhile and have come back because I love the workflow.Version: 3.3.3

WowUpdate...I love this program...still needs a little fine tuning but hey it just came out...Cubasis 2 was out for a very long time before it reached it peak just like every program made..n track is still buggy as ever...this is the to-go-to program for mobile music creation....give the developers time...I’m making music that sound better than high price studios...yes it crashes but reloads very quick after restart...I hope the developers add more in future updates...don’t want to record on no desktop non more....this is it...learn how to use what you got...stop complaining....Version: 3.0.1

Awesome butI really love Cubase and it’s my main tool for music making, mixing and mastering. Im running it on a Air 2 so this new updates are starting to drag my iPad down but it’s understandable. What I really am hoping for is if Steinberg can add volume control per pad for the classic machines. I know you can just add to different tracks to separate them then group them but that just take up cpu usage when all you really need is just one instance of a classic machine and away to be able to adjust the volume of each pad. Velocity is one way but if you have a snare and clap on the same note and you try to adjust the velocity of one or the other you end up still lowering the volume on both..Version: 3.3

Would be awesomeEvery other time I load a project, it’s says my sample rate was change to 24khz and tracks play at lower pitch. I have seen others have this issue. I have done the recommended remedy of starting a new project, closing app and restarting phone. Sometimes it works, sometimes not. I really want to use this app because other than this it is perfect for mobile production. (Just did recent update, still no fix). Edit - Added star for quick response from developer and awesome to see how Lars responds to every review. Although there may be quirks, it can do so much and is apparent there is constant improvements and effort being put into product..Version: 3.3.3

Bugs and glitchesI would give this a 5 star but when I get somewhat done with my track I’ll save it and go to bed then the next day I go to work on the track it messes up , it will be extremely pitched down and sounds like I clicked record and recorded the whole song on another phone and it gets aggravating but it’s slowly starting to not do that but if y’all will work on the app to make sure it doesn’t do that it would be amazing and also I would love it if y’all made it to where I can pitch up my vocals more than one octave but other than that I love the app , worth the money and there some other issues I have with the eq and stuff.Version: 3.3.3

Great DAW with more features than you would think possible. With this new update, I’m going to buckle down and use this DAW as the primary tool for my new tracks. Had some crash issues with the last version, but from what I’ve read, they have been resolved. Cubasis has more versatility and is able to utilize so much more than other mobile DAWs, that I haven’t even scratched the surface, and I’ve been using it for over a year. My only complaint is that I can’t record MIDI using some aux3 software on my iPhone 13 Pro Max, but I suspect that is on the developers who made the virtual synths. All in all, it’s a solid suite of solutions for synthesis and sounds..Version: 3.5.1

Was working...I love CB2 and I was very happy to see the next step for this DAW. Unfortunately a bunch of my AUs started to cut out, then stopped altogether. I get no sound at all and the playhead stutters and just hangs. I’m sure this will be fixed but as for now it’s unusable for me and a shame because other wise I’ve had no issues with it. I’ll be waiting for the update! ::edit:: so after this review and the dev response, that night the app worked fine. So excited! Next morning same issues started again. Works fine on my phone, everything is fine in C2. Im using a new iPad pro so i cant figure out any other ideas except to delete it and just keep checking it every now and then Sometimes you're the dog, and sometimes you're the hydrant..Version: 3.0.2

Love this app tho it gives me small issues most timesI don't know if this problem is specific to my IPad mini or the app itself but the cut and glue features, alongside stretch feature don't always work during first open use of a session. I have to launch my app tabs and refresh the app almost everytime to access those during a session I've already got going. Most times it didn't bother me since it was sparse and quick to fix. This new has update made it an incessant buzz kill now. Hurts my workflow just needed to put it out there..Version: 3.4.3

Love this daw but a few things wrong. Still #1IOS 16.6 m2 iPad Pro.. issues with routing MIDI… every time I try to route some MIDI into another track for side chain, waves tune, BLEASS voices for whatever reason my menu pops up behind the plugins. I can see the top barely and it won’t allow me to turn on or off anything. If you guys can’t fix this part then maybe just put another MIDI routing window somewhere or in the settings. Like AUM.. also with the visual browsing of the AUBE, it would be great if you guys could add a search bar when looking for Audio Units. Then we can use it with Cubasis instead of ONLY AUM… please PLEASE please… great app. But a few hiccups.Version: 3.6

Working well until recently UPDATED v2This DAW is unparalleled in almost every way. Unfortunately, my latest experience is that it locks up upon launch. UPDATE. I may have figured out what the problem is. Apparently the app takes time to load all of the audio units because it eventually does launch and restores the most recent project. PS Dev responded quickly giving reason for the lag due to AU plugin density - which confirmed my suspicions. In other words either use fewer plugins, use less mem-intensive plugins - or hope that devs will decrease memory usage in their apps..Version: 3.5.1

Is it just me ??Everyone writes stellar reviews for this app so i finally broke down and bought it. I’ve spent a lot of time with it and still can’t create anything that sounds like anything. I have all the DAWs for ios and can use them all to produce tracks, but i can’t wrap my head around Cubasis. Firstly it takes ages to load when i first bring up a project, it just remains frozen for minutes. The workflow seems cluttered, i can’t get the timing right with my instrumentals, they always end up jumbled and off time. In apps like Nanostudio i have no problems building tracks so it’s not as if i’m clueless. I know people love this app but i’ve deleted it from my devices, i can’t use it..Version: 3.4.3

Nearly the single best ios app.Very useful tool unreal support with auv3, so far one of my only dislikes is when moving around the scrub of a midi or audio event on the timeline if you drag the event to the edge of the ipad screen it starts scrolling it at 5000% speed and sometimes disorganises the events, and whats frustrating about that if you move the normal marker to edge of the screen it doesnt scroll, just disrupts workflow and im sure im not the only one who would like a feature to have the ability to disable scrolling when stretching events..Version: 3.5.1

Very GoodTo date this has been my favourite Daw on iPad OS. I’ve been using a 12.9 inch iPad M1 and the experience has been very enjoyable thus far. I’m not sure why but I just seem to have a propensity of working, creating and playing music using the iPad. After years of struggling with the bloated complicated mess of Pro Tools and thankfully eventually moving to Studio One Professional and after spending umpteen thousands of dollars in computer desktop software. I find myself happier and more creative in the confines of simplicity without all the ongoing technical issues and hurdles that was a prevalent reality within the desktop realm. I am hoping that the developers of Cubasis will keep up the good work and continually develop the software and have ongoing improvements and features and I would graciously pay for ongoing development towards major upgrades..Version: 3.5.1

What happened?I’ve been using Cubase for more than 20 years and Cubasis since it came out. Cubasis 1 was great, Cubasis 2 also good but Cubase 3 has got me working extra hard, trying to get it work with Music Studio, Pure Synth, SynthMaster One and my other apps. I have yet to have success. It works wonderfully with iGrand but what about all the rest? Some of my other apps that were available in the older Cubasis don’t even appear on Cubasis 3’s menu. Why is that? Is it perhaps time for me to move on to something that is more compatible or am I just doing something wrong?.Version: 3.5.1

IncredibleIt just keeps getting better..Version: 3.5.1

IPhone version- AmazingMy iPad is being repaired. I used my iPhone and was amazed. Excellent DAW. Well done!.Version: 3.5.1

Floating windows?Best DAW on any mobile platform and it’s not even close. My wish is for some some implementation of floating/resizable windows for instruments and plugins, as present in AUM or Drambo, as being able to do more than one thing at a time would be helpful..Version: 3.5

Great AppBest DAW available. Way better than GarageBand..Version: 3.5

BestBetter than garage band so thanks guys I love this app I’m a live looper and this helps me big time.Version: 3.4.3

Need Tempo TrackAmazing stability in this release. Cubasis offers workflow which allows you to create rapidly. Auvs' work well and the DSP is under great control. So far I have successfully completed 10 songs which contain audio / midi. I load my projects heavily with plugins like Fab Filter and Mixbox (which is quite heavy) and with an external sound device his release handles easily 20 tracks with 3-4 plugins on each track without using freeze. (Mr Lars) - if you guys develop a tempo track this will end my search for the perfect ios daw. I am certain many musicians feel alike out there. Thank you!.Version: 3.4.3

Cubasis changed my life!Portable music creation anywhere, no more clunky laptops and daws. Record in my home studio, mix and edit anywhere….Version: 3.4.3

Excelente!I love how intuitive it is, the interface make everything simple, I wish that in the future we can have a ableton style session view. Or kind of like blocks in reason. But so far I’m happy with everything. Keep with the good work..Version: 3.4

YepTotally hooked..Version: 3.3.3

Worth the time, and money.Throughout my brief experience with his app, I’ve had many ups, and downs, many frustrating learning curves, followed by rewarding successes. I encourage hobbyists, enthusiasts, students, aspiring sound engineers, producers, and musicians looking to build their music from the ground up to take the plunge. My personal experience with Cubasis has helped me grow a lot so far. In all the sub categories as a musician, producer, and audio engineer. I owe a lot to this app, and Steinberg in general for bringing all the power of Cubase to the iPad. This experience has been thought provoking and has encouraged me to research many new techniques, and gain insight about all the ins and outs of sound design. Thank you for everything you’ve enabled myself, and many like minded people to experience. Your software is the reason I’ve grown so much in this field. I’m content with this app and the amount I’ve grown from this, and it’s only the beginning. -Aidan J.Version: 3.4

Impressive updatesSay what you will about this or that bug or missing feature but this is clearly one of the most ambitiously supported audio apps. Props to the dev for listening and responding to the users..Version: 3.4

FeatureThis app is an amazing app. The best app that I’ve come across. With that said, I would like to make a request of a feature that should be added into this DAW. A feature that is available in some DAW‘s. Can you please add in audio quantize?.Version: 3.3.1

Essential iOS DAWThis is the best DAW for iOS in 2021..Version: 3.3.1

BhutaniIs there any new change on the next update ?I am curious to see it.Version: 3.3.1

AmaizingPlease add a in app 'Refresh/Reboot App' button. I understand fixing all the issues is a big task, but in the mean time Please add this button..Version: 3.2.1

Great except crashes sometimes i pad pro 4th genWhen I opened it it was so familiar but different than Cubasis2 that it was worth putting out it has a layout that most people with a daw will be able to get around ..... - every now and then it closes the program and sometimes while recording it skips but it’s rare but still needing another take but over all it’s great...I love the Q10 equalizer it punched through my bass and contains the distorted guitar.Version: 3.2.1

Great Music App!This app has the best and most comprehensive collection of the most beautiful instruments sounds ever..... my favorite IPad app always....thank you!.Version: 3.1.1

Overall good appI like the app it is easy to use. I find the effects and vsts are pretty impressive. I record fairly straight forward rock blues so it works good for me but I wouldn't want to do to much editing on it seeing as it is hard to edit on an iPad. The sound quality is great for vocals and guitars using a ur44 as an interface from a Boss pedal board. The one thing I find really disappointing is that you cannot import/export from Cubase to Cubasis, you can export a project started on Cubasis to Cubase but if your project is created in Cubase you have to export the tracks individually to Cubasis cannot send a project from Cubase to Cubasis. Also this app is far better than Garage Band but personally I like the layout of the drum kit and strings for vsts in GarageBand better than the pads and keys in Cubasis for drums and stringed instruments.Version: 3.1.2

I’m too dumb to use most DAWs but this works amazingly well!!!I’m so insanely happy with this app. I’m a drummer and have always struggled mixing, EQing, snipping, and putting multitrack drum audio playthroughs together. This is the most intuitive and easy to use DAW I’ve ever used. The built in EQ, compression, noisegate and reverb settings sound amazing. I track playthroughs on a cheap, commercially available DAW, render the stems to Dropbox, and then leisurely sit with my iPad to put the playthrough together. App works amazingly well on an iPad mini 5. Thanks Steinberg!.Version: 3.1.1

UpdateWould you guys happen to know when you will be coming out with a new update ? The audio sometimes glitches when you are Recording..Version: 3.0.2

Worst daw on iOS wowI wanted so hard to love this but unless u use the internal instruments good luck on having a steady performance this app has made me want to literally throw my 2020 iPad Pro across the room out of sheer frustration wow it is so unstable it should be illegal for them to even charge for this. Unbelievable, it can’t even play a midi clip properly without skipping or doing some weird stuff.....Version: 3.0.2

Whoa...I was waiting for a full DAW to become universal... saw this was available on the iPhone now. Wow. This app is amazing. And sharing projects between iPad and iPhone is so smooth. I get that there are a few bugs in this very early version, but you know they’ll be solved in no time. I’m blown away by how fun, and rock solid stable this has been running multiple AU’s on an iPhone.... whoa....Version: 1.0

Really!😤😒Come on..... Why can’t I restore my in app purchases!!!!😡 this is why I jumped out the window so fast. And it keeps tell me I have no purchases when in fact I bought everything. I need this fixed ASAP. Oh yeah thanks for the iPhone version! But 3 for now but I’ll give a 5star review when this issue is resolved..Version: 1.0
