In depth reviewThis is my first ever game review. I’ve played GOG for almost 2 years, and yes I am a spender. Common words about GOG “pay to win, no real strategy needed, full of bugs, bad Devs, and terrible support” yes it is pay to win. It takes 10s of thousands to be among the top players in the game, however with enough hard work and time invested you can become a mildly strong player, and have fun. As for the strategy aspect. This game is LOADED with little quirks that exchange the fighting aspect of GOG. Again with enough time... these quirks can be learned and make you a very very skilled player. The bugs are bad. Most major events at the start cause supreme lag and crashing (KVK, UAC) however this lag is often fixed in a few minutes. To me the Developers are among the worst of any app. In just a short time a new kingdom can easily overpower the simple beast in game (Underworld, threats, and red guards.) This needs to be adjusted. Painful underworld was a challenge when retribution gear was the strongest gear. Support, while slow is often helpful. My suggestions for development... merge the 3 kingdoms that are created on the same time schedule, rework or add stronger red guards, and underworld opponents, and have a way to get rid of the more offensive players of a kingdom. I believe if these features are addressed GOG would not only make more money, but also receive more pleasant reviews..Logan69696969Version: 5.7.1

Great game BUT......Like I wrote on subject or title. This is a great game met a lot of good people from around the world. This game is a casual game at the beginning while your trying to level up and if you join an alliance. That’s great you get bonus and help sometimes. But once you hit a curtain level I’m not going to make sugar coat it. You are going to be paying to lvl up. Been playing this game for several years now and I have spent a good amount of real money to get to the level I’m at and I’m no where close to max level. Once you hit a curtain level participants is needed for kingdom events and alliance events. And money is also a key factor for boosting and healing and buffs. So if your looking for a game that you do not wish to spend money on then you play this til you reach the point you can not move forward because you have to spend money. Of just chose another game. Really fun, really expensive.At first, as a non-spender, I didn’t really enjoy the game. It was slow pace, most tasks were impractical and it was impossible for me to contribute to the alliance. Somehow, regretfully, I began spending. The game became much, much more fun. It’s extremely competitive when you’re at a higher level of play but most likely because everyone at that level has invested thousands and thousands of dollars. In the last year or so they seemed to have worked on making it more practical and enjoyable to spend a reasonable amount and have an desirable, competitive experience. If you not looking to spend money, or looking for an alternative to a game you’re spending to much money on, for your sake, don’t download. You’ll want to spend to compete and you’ll have to do so in order to compete. This isn’t the type of game you play for a few minutes here and there, you’ll do best with routines and consistency (ie. Everyday at server reset and before work). With that said, as you become more invested the game becomes much, much more fun. Great game!In this game you can play with out spending, although it helps a great bit. Most of the low star comments are based on people attacking lower castles. However this is in a way false. Yes you can get attacked and lose paid for assets, but they have protective abilities that are able to be bought through in game resources and not just out of pocket. In every game they have bullies and will always be bothersome, but not as bad if you play in a strategic manner. It is a war game so thinking you can sit around and not participate like it isn’t one is not a reason to be upset. Only problem I have with this game is prices for what you actually get. A bit unfair in that aspect. This should be looked at because once you hit a certain castle level prices increase and you do not get enough resources with it. Overall a good game and very fun to play. Make sure you get an alliance because it truly helps. Yes smaller ones will be targeted, but as I said many ways to protect your stuff with shields and putting resources into storage. Most pleasedTo any who may read this critique I must begin in saying that I am very pleased with this game. It has made hours at home pass by like seconds, and it continues to please me with every new event. It's been but a fortnight since my wheat crop has last been buckled, But, alas my troops continue to rally on empty stomachs. Love this gameI am not the video game type of girl but this game appeals to so many different intelligence levels and has totally swept me off my feet. It requires skill, communication, relationship building, trust building, ability to work as a team member, honor, dignity, courage, love, passion, psychological understanding, teaching, learning and opening your whole self. Since it\'s a war game there is also plenty of Smack Talk and back and Forth Fun bicker between opponents and this can be the most entertaining aspect at times, especially after you just intensely used your mind to fight a big battle!!! Great game but long timeI want to point out, all the people who say this game is bad are wrong.I have been playing this game for 3 months now and have spent about $50 on this game. The prices are great but sometimes it just takes to long to build something. To make one demon hunter coat it takes a week. I understand this equipment is strong, but 1 week is too excessive. I plan to play guns of glory for a long time. Events are also a great way of getting resources and gold. In one I got over 10K! Many people have complained about the advertisements being false. This is true and maybe GoG can change this,(it my also save time on you responses)Lastly I would like to mention speed ups. These are way too expensive. It is almost Impossible to get past level 15 because of the long time. Some people can manage but some cannot. Great gameplay but poor customer serviceThis game is amazing. It has so many different activities and events to participate in. Downside is that you will have to spend real money in order to fully enjoy the game in order to level up your castles, gear, airship, and so much more. I would give this game a 5 star if it weren’t how poor the customer service is when issues arise. I have been playing 9 months now and have spent quite a bit of money. I have recently noticed an issue with purchasing bundles. There are times when you purchase a bundle for a specific price only to find out that it’s tripled on my bank statement it. I’ve tested this out to make sure it wasn’t an issue on my end and verified that is was a system error. I have sent messages about this to the developers and have yet to hear one thing on this issue. Since this issue I have not and will not spend money until the issue is fixed and money is returned. It’s sad that this game is so amazing but has the lack of support drops the ratings significantly. An enjoyable experienceFor an online gaming experience via mobile app this exceeded my expectations. I sifted through a series of similar games and found Guns of Glory to incorporate the least amount of demonic ideologies and still maintain interest. While there is present tarot card readings, astrology, pentagrams, etc - I appreciate the pulling away from the typical character sorcery, necromancy, witchcraft, spell casting and the like. The warfare system is quite extensive, but yet significantly undefined which creates a large gap between understanding certain dynamics to the carry over of actual game play. I do appreciate the ongoing updates and optimization of the warfare system. The guard system the developers have been working with is quite unique and enjoyable. The balance between spending to upgrade and strategic thinking does weigh heavy on the spending side of the spectrum. During my time in-game I did spend occasionally, but quickly noticed how much money invested directly determined a player’s success and would ultimately override a strategic mindset. I no longer play Guns of Glory (or any games) mostly attributed to a lack of time and thought to invest in it. The community was enjoyable and will be missed. I’d like to commend the developers (as they receive a lot of harsh criticism) on their continued involvement to produce something people can enjoy together through the convenience of a mobile device. Not bad, nice graphicsAs usual there’s no way to really compete at the top level without spending real money, which I won’t do... nature of the beast, I get it, but my main objection is that there seems to be no relationship between how large one builds an army and the ability to defend your castle from attacks... somebody just shows up with a slightly larger army, takes your stuff and gets off scot free with zero casualties... apparently the massive army I bothered building was just slaughtered while asleep... be sure not to access resources until you’re ready to spend them... also hugely expensive to add resources beyond a certain point... not really possible without spending so I won’t bother... I’ve deleted the app twice in frustration and only come back due to pandemic boredom... basically amusing until castle level 20 then don’t bother unless you plan to shell out the coin... side adventures mostly confusing and repetitive but can add resources... honestly not interested enough to try figuring out how the guards skills work... not really self explanatory....HahebskkanqmcijeVersion: 6.8.0

Honest ReviewI’ve been playing for about a year. I’ve invested a lot of money into the game. It is a pay to play. No issues with that. I do take issue to the greed of the developers of the game. At this point there are new items coming out every week or two that cost $100’s to $1,000’s to upgrade. This is outrageous. Before you can even upgrade or do much the next thing is out. Making your purchases a waste of money. Introduced Tormentor and took away stamina sales. It’s just pure greed. I love the game and the kingdom I’m in. However, it is not fair to free players or even spenders like myself. The game is geared towards the literal top 5% of player. I spend a lot and it’s never enough. So not much is realistically obtainable. There is also nothing given or special about players who spend hundreds or thousands a month. Only top 5%. New castle that they just came out with… Would cost a person between $18,000 and $21,000 to obtain. A game for some.I have read many negative reviews and say I cannot disagree with them all. This is a game that is not for everyone. There are many in game aspects to follow. In App purchases are common amongst players and so those wanting to only play for free will not advance as far. But I have loved playing it for four months now, on more than I expected during the day. My wife and I both play and have become friends with many players. The game suits in different sandbox style formats, how you desire to play and at what level. We play with players on all levels, enjoy the heavy but friendly competition, and friends we have made. We are players throughout the day and gave up on our other games when we play. Over our time playing we have experienced glitches but a few times, but always reimbursed by the game. The game does use players as moderators, this aspect does depend on who you ask for help from that is anonymous and the way they choose to react. This one aspect has been frustrating. Challenge to stay aliveThis game heavily favors those with large budgets. I have run into several people that have spent enough money to buy a new Cadillac, that said, you can play without spending but you cannot win. This game reflects like monkeys in the zoo, toss a middle sized monkey a banana and a bigger one will take it away, the middle sized monkey will then go beat up a smaller monkey. Gameplay here is the same, expect to get zeroed regularly, but the people you find in here become family. The game is average, does not have decent support, the published rules are not enforced, but the people this game attracts and become your in game family makes everything worth it. Give it a try, do not spend anything till you are sure you want to, enjoy the game, love your alliance, hate your enemies. You don’t have to spendMany of these low reviews say you have to spend hundreds or thousands to advance above c18, which is bs. Spend 5$ on an opulence purple equipment pack and several things unlock and make it easier, that’s all you gotta spend, speedups are plentiful and require zero cash to acquire fairly quickly. Upgrades definitely slow beyond c26, but I don’t spend and am currently c30, that being said...the new equipment, above sun king and even sun king included is not easy to get, while I have all maxed retribution gear, I only have the ingots to make 2 sun king pieces, and I’m closing in on one year playing, players spend in all these games, but depending on kingdom players make rules during ke that can make it more balanced to all players, they have been making equipment easier to build as the game is updated, at least for longer time players, I have an alt that can’t build gems to attach to the equipment I’ve made, so overall some updates help and others make a newer player have a harder time building up.Mattk262Version: 4.4.0

It gets less fun the more I play!This game is confusing enough I haven’t spent but 5$ on this game because I do t understand any of it the fact I have to hold my phone sideways is irritating. Let alone attempting to figure out how you can see the guards skills or unique skills. It takes too many resources for walls and castles for level 16 if you can have a level 40 castle you make it impossible to play this game without paying. New players can’t build thru play or w/o spending $100+.I have played this game for some years now. I have been a modest spender ($50/mo). This game is NOT designed to enable even modest growth through play. If you are a lower-level castle (<26) or a startup player in older kingdoms... forget it. You cannot improve without spending large amounts of money. The developers seem to think it is ok to preclude growth via play. I have maybe 5+ augments (curiosity, gemstone, guards, guard weapons, airship, etc.) that are within a couple of frags/resources away from upgrading to a 3 or 4 modest level, but simply cannot because the fragments/scrolls/parts are simply not available even to purchase or earn in any way whatsoever. The ONLY alternative is to buy high-level enhancements at $100s. This is baloney! Case in point, the last guard update confiscated higher-level guards that I OWNED and gave back lowest-level guards that were/are completely worthless. If people are precluded from incrementally participating in an incremental, play basis, growth, this game is solely about spending literally $1000s to compete/be a contributor to Alliance/Kingdom efforts. Bottom line, if you’re not willing to spend $1000s, this game, as a newbie, it’s almost certainly not for you. Pay to PlayBeen playing for a year now. Met some good people and have come away with some good friends. Unfortunately if you want to play you have to pay. The drop rate in this game is very low, meaning if you want to build gear, castle, airship, curiosities and many other things that increase your attack and defense strength you will have to play for years. Now, if you pay thousands of dollars you can be ready within months. GOG has got greedy and will not adjust the potential of the game. At this point the game has gotten to the point it is just not as fun as it was. The events they have now requires you to spend money to protect what you have and have become consistently annoying if not just boring. Could be a lot betterDon’t let your kids play this! Players with no manners like to display banners with explicit language. Customer Service does little to nothing to stop and/or prevent this from occurring. Quickly becoming a “Pay to Play” type of game. Need gold to purchase items such as shields but you rarely obtain gold through normal game play thus leaving you the only option as your wallet. As with any “war” game expect to be attacked by larger wealthier players unless you join an alliance that’s willing to defend you. I like the aspects of the game and the fact there’s always something to do while on-line. At least after you have obtained level 16 or above. The graphics are pretty good as well. Poor customer service re:extortion tactics by bullying playersExtortion is regular part of games like these but they have a poor set up in comparison to other games - like no bracket systems for fair level playing or no prestige tiers when overpowered players attack beginning players - like less rewards or loss of prestige/player power for attacking below you. There really are no protections in place for lower players or beginning players where another OP player can demand weekly amounts of resources and either the lower player gets attacked repeatedly or just complies and the game developers reply that it is the lower players fault (their way of saying - your fault you do not pay to level up). Honestly, the game developers/tech support are straight up rude when replying, aside other occasions they gave false/wrong information regarding trouble-shooting bugs in the game. I don’t mind paying for in-app purchases to support games, but the customer support and game developers response to players is a huge turn off. Agree with other reviewers, don’t spend money on this game, it’s possible to advance without it, but especially because of the poor tech support (wrong information proving costly later) and rude customer support - don’t spend the money when their infrastructure is so uneven/unbalanced/uninformed support compared to other game platforms with better systems like brackets or prestige exchanges and better tech/customer support..NopicnicVersion: 1.6.0

Do not DownloadI’ve had this game for a week and it is a huge cash grab that has no love for what it. When I first saw the adds this looked like a great 1st/3rd person game about leveling up to becoming a king, but without looking at the reviews, or pictures which was a huge mistake, I clicked download and when I first got on, it told me to build a couple buildings, invade a small structure and then it left me without any other explanation, I should also mention that the game is a huge money farm for the developers who make you pay just to win the game. Even with the glitches and crashes the game has that no one at GoG takes any notice of when you send them complaints trying to make the game funner and easier for you and other players who were tricked by this sorry excuse for a good strategy game. And looking at the reviews afterward showed that all the employees who read them only write back saying their sorry for the bad experience and try to turn down the claims with no evidence at all and blaming it on an unnamed advertisement company that doesn’t know what your game is about. Downward spiral of money and attitudeI’ve played this game for 3 months and spent about $100 on purchases. First this game is geared toward causing you to necessitate spending loads of money on gear and speed up. For example, I spent a total of $15 on scholar gems and opulence gear because it take weeks and millions of pieces of iron, wood, food and silver to move up from around castle 18. It would take someone constant attention and months to get there otherwise over castle 20. The new Sun King equipment takes 100 fragments and 1800 rare item chests not to mention thousands of other items to create. How does someone go from a castle 22 to 30 in a week? Well they spends hundreds and thousands using real cash while poor folks spend weeks to make one piece of armor. Really unfortunate...This is the first time I’ve decided to review anything in my life. It is unfortunate that it is about a game that I have managed to enjoy for almost 2 years now. The premise is simple. The game has been dumbed down to the simple-stupid, and has taken the aspect of strategy and control away. You could spend your way to a big castle, but it still took intelligence and strategy to maintain and be formidable. Yes, some of us have choosen “pay for play” but it was also part of a strategy. We became the enforcers of or Kingdoms. However, now with the destruction of mixed marches, over powered guard combinations to effect 1 type of troop, and the general lack of explanation as to how the game now operates under its apparent RNG in battle, it has just become another point and click at best. Charging your card for thing they don’t give you.I have played this game for years. Spent a lot of my money playing. I was looking through my charges in April and I found a charge that they have been charging me for, but I had not been receiving the pack. I reported it to them. There team writes you back telling you they are looking into it but it is hard to track the problem. Then they delete your ticket with the problem unresolved. They tell you it is against there teams of use for you to go through anyone but them to get things fixed and will ban your account for going to Apple for help. FALSE ADVERTISINGAny ad I have seen for this game has been completely fake. Do not think your playing some Age of Empires mixed with Elder Scrolls style game. You have two screens, your home base and the larger map area (maybe some other options screens). Also right now that first video on the App Store is just fake. However the screenshots in the App Store are pretty accurate, however every single ad I have seen for this game has made it look like something completely different. So much potential wastedLet me begin with what the game does well. The social aspect is a big part of the game. Many players remain because of the friendships created. The events are imaginative and some are even fun. Most of them become quickly boring and the rewards not worth the effort. My number one complaint is the game is Pay 2 Win. Those willing to spend enormous amounts of money will always win and make everyone else’s life miserable. Obviously, those willing to really learn the game are able to mitigate some of this. The events have rewards that only service lower level characters/accounts. If you play in an event and spend hard earned money and sacrifice time, many times you lose all the rewards you earned when they close the event. GoG has gone downhill fast…I started playing GoG when the game was very first released. I have been in numerous kingdoms. My current kingdom, 915, is a trainwreck. You have adults with credit cards (and ridiculously high power for a new kd) against new players, and most of the time those new players are children/young adults that have no idea how to play. And who also have no idea about the intricate rules the bullies have laid out. Make one mistake and they’ll make sure you’re banned from all alliances and are forced to leave. GoG offers absolutely no recourse if your particular kingdom has a bully for a King. You simply have to leave that kingdom and start over in a new one, or quit all together. Would I recommend this game? Absolutely not. Unless you enjoy spending an insane amount of money to just not be blacklisted by the self righteous money spenders in power. Don’t do itI have been playing for years now and have middle of the pack power. If you don’t spend you are basically a farm. The social aspect is what keeps most of us playing as we have developed friendships over the years. After the migration, we inherited a real jerk who kills all the castles and has even made real life death threats to players who stand up for themselves. But they spend a ton of money so that’s ok. Poor customer service. Convoluted extortion.I wrote customer service repeatedly about items that had disappeared during the software upgrades and they were unwilling to address the problem. It turned out the items that disappeared were now only available for cash purchase (as opposed to regular effort and a little bit of money) so they were unwilling to replace them. Furthermore each subsequent update takes items that were previously able be earned through game play and makes them only available for purchase. This game burns your battery faster than any other program I have run including every map/gps application. This makes me wonder what it is really doing in the background. Gameplay also covers your screen with dancing icons of perhaps 5 advertisements of the latest power ups you can buy. And now sends you emails on the latest “Easter sale” on in-game purchases. It’s covered in pop ups and notifications on what to buy. Almost amusing it the latest update where there are at least 3 notifications that lead to nothing however they cannot be disabled or “read”. Free to play, pay to winTypical strategy game that’s free but that you need to pay to level up and win. As the game has progressed, this has only been more prevalent and actually gotten worse. Constantly having updates to push new stuff and get you to spend. They have done nothing lately for the free players, and have not made any types of prestige levels or tiers that reward you for time spent on the game, furthering the gap between free players and spenders. Developers have so many opportunities to improve game play, especially for their free players...but of course, is all about money. Fake ads, Copy of other games and money grabFirst, the ads for this game are nothing like the real game. You can’t play in first person nor third person, manning a gun on a castle wall shooting attackers. You also can’t arrange your troops strategically for battle. It’s nothing like that. Second, this game is exactly like Game of War: Fire Age. So, if you’ve played that game, then this is the exact same game. After the first day, upgrades take a very long time. Eventually you will grind to halt, lacking the resources to be able to upgrade any further and you will be forced to make in game purchases to progress any further. Once your shield expires, pretty much the only way to get another one is to pay real money for it. And when your shield is gone, you’re open to be attacked. Unlike other games, you don’t get another shield when you get attacked. This means you can get attacked over and over, even by the same player, until you have zero resources left. You’ll go to bed, only to log onto the game the following day and realize you have nothing left. You’ll spend the day trying to regain what you lost, only for it to happen again the next night. No end in sightWhen I first started playing guns of glory it was a really cool game unlike game of war. That was a year ago. Now that a year has passed by the developer has yanked the rug from under us. The constant changes will take a toll on a lot of us players. Found out the bad wayI played this game for a little over a week, don’t get me wrong when I first got it I was obsessed and played it every chance I got. Spent a little bit of cash on it to help build up things fir my base. Made a few game friends and it was fun! Next thing I knew the friends were missing and not responding. Pass on it - Unnecessarily Complex Game with No StrategyThis game promises to be a game of strategy but strategy is sadly lacking. Basically, the longer you are around the stronger you become and unless you have been around for a longer time, expect on be victimized by stronger players with no chance of ever catching up unless you want to spend a lot of money. The combat is all about who is bigger and nothing to do with strategy or tactics. The combat is also very unimaginative. To their credit, the graphics are well done but they do not resemble what the add shows - nothing remotely like them. This is also a VERY EXPENSIVE GAME to play so if you get started expect to spend a lot. It is also extremely complex with very little help available to explain how to navigate the complexities. The developers continue to add complexity to the game without good explanations. I played for a few months thinking I could get a better experience but it didn’t happen. Completely misleading adsThe game itself isn’t too bad, has about the same features as most games of this type do, but I can’t stand how the ads you see are ALL from several other games. There’s no strategic base building, no setting up squad formations to defend against enemy troops, no sneaking around to take out guards and raid a vault, no putting down spikes and shooting wolves - it’s all lifted from other older games, mostly PC games at that. There IS one minigame-esque feature you unlock at higher levels where you walk a Frankenstein’s Monster-like creature up/down/left/right through a dungeon crawler to find loot, but nothing like what the ads show, since again, those are clips from OTHER GAMES. How is this legal!? I did play this for a while and enjoyed the gameplay without ever spending money, don’t get me wrong. Then it becomes tougher when players really start taking your stuff. Selective banning of castlesThey obviously have selective banning on castles and don’t follow their own terms & conditions. Guy sold a castle but had it linked to kings group. He was signing into it for over a year after he sold it and after the buyer spent a lot of money on the castle after buying it the seller stole it back. Gog support was shown tons of evidence (screenshots of the convo negotiating sale, convo of the guy stealing it back, convo of original seller trying to resell the castle again, and tons more). Gog then banned the guy that the castle was stolen from and gave the castle back to the original seller (who violated gogs t&c by selling it). Either Gog employee or knows someone that works for Gog or castle should be gone all together since t&c were violated. Gog is getting more and more crooked every day so stay away from this game until they get themselves under check. We have also found out the guy that stole the castle back has also purchased a castle in another kingdom. Poor customer support and breaking TOSI have been playing this game for almost 2 years. There are some great things about it, the people around the world you meet, the ability to login and have group adventures, stats stats and more stats. However there is a major flaw in the game! TOS (terms of service). When playing you agree that only you shall be the one having access to your account/castle. In the kingdom I have been in for over a year there is a castle that has had over 8 owners. One player bought $12k worth of stuff then complained to his credit card company, which in turn GoG put “a hold of spending” on that account. He got his money back from the credit card company and now a very large castle still has all of it’s upgrades. So I sent customer service screenshots of the new owner claiming that he was in control of the castle. They responded back with the blanket anti foul language statement. They don’t even care that credit card fraud and TOS are being broken on a regular basis. MODs are players that don’t help or even regulate. If you decide to play this game join a new kingdom and buy everything you can in a few days. Then refute the charges through your credit card. You get to keep your gear, stats, and bonuses in the game. Play for as long as you can as a strong castle knowing you have about a year till anyone catches up. Not improvingPlayed this game for many years now. Unless you spend money you will always be beaten by people who have literally spent thousands on the game. Saying that if you treat the game like Sims with some fighting that’s about it. The main portion of the game is the interaction with other players. Very expensive game to play- to expensive to get a strong castle in order to compete with other players (you loose a lot and spend 2/3 the time rebuilding) -once you are in kingdom, you are locked into if you build a castle over level 15 ( restricts your playing) due to players get to know each other very well in a kingdom and if they black ball you, it’s game over - I have become addicted, I have made good online friends. - but just overall to frustrating, I have watched many players drop out, SO CAUTION. Developers, kudos on a brilliant money making game. This is just my own frustration, but in app. Purchases are the new highway robbers. To expensive.
