Brusfri* is a highly advanced audio noise reducer, packed into a simple and straight-forward interface. It is very well suited for cleaning up noisy audio recordings, while retaining sound quality. Unlike many other noise reducers on the market, Brusfri doesn't mess with audio phasing to suppress noise (a technique that often comes with audible side effects). Instead, multiple fine-tuned gates are used to silence unwanted noise.
Brusfri can also be used as a AUv3 plug-in in compatible hosts, for example in GarageBand.
*Brusfri means "Noise free" in Swedish.

Usage
In short, press “Learn” during a couple of seconds of isolated noise to create a "profile" for noise. This may be all you need to do.
Brusfri can be used in two ways, either standalone or as a AUv3 plug-in.
Standalone
Import the audio, either by extracting audio from a video, by importing from iTunes, or by using the “Open In…” option in any other app that can export audio. Press and hold the Learn button (the ear) while playing unwanted noise. (It’s important that the Ear is only fed with isolated noise). When Learn is released, Brusfri will start reducing noise.
AUv3 plug-in
Open Brusfri in any AUv3 compatible host.
Find a region in the recording that only contains noise and play it.
Tap and hold the “LEARN” button for a short while (a second will be enough). When the LEARN button is released, Brusfri will start reducing noise.
There are a bunch of parameters available that affect the noise reduction algorithm:
ATK / THRS / REL (Attack Time / Threshold / Release Time)
Threshold - basically determines how much noise to be removed. A lower value means more reduction.
Attack and Release sets the time it will take for the reducer to start working.
LOOKAHEAD
Makes transient processing a bit smoother.
EDGE
Controls the reduction aggressivity. A lower value gives a smoother reduction.
HPF
Reduces low frequencies.
HIGH
Compensates high frequencies by boosting them.
MIX
Mixes between dry and noise reduced signal.
NOTE! Brusfri is CPU intensive and iPhone 6 / iPad AIR 2 or better is recommended. When used as an AUv3 plug-in, we highly recommend freezing/bouncing tracks to reduce CPU usage.

It just doesn't work well. I hope it takes a new and improved step forward in all respectsThe app needs to be updated and improvement and add a custom voice enhancement button to better sound more masculine and appropriate. And Increase the volume without increasing the distortions, It's one of the biggest annoying problems I've encountered using it and I hope you fix it. And denose improved to the best site like adobe's new site, it works like crazy, you feel the ultimate improvement in sound, like you bought a mic for $300. I hope that a new button will be added, this new technology and technology will be added to the application and the old technology will also be in place. Amazing abilities, but a bit glitchyFirst app I’ve found that does such a good job isolating the background noise that I was trying to remove. Very powerful ability. Nice design too. Unfortunately it is quite glitchy with importing files, only plays them about half the time on the first try so you have to try another time or too and then it works. (On Ipad 4) The dials on the filters feature took a few minutes to figure out too, the dials appears to control by spinning, but are actually controlled by swiping up and down, minor issue, but a bit of a confusing design. Some updates to make it work a little smoother would be appreciated. Overall very happy with the app though, great work!.Version: 1.1.0
Saved My Podcast RecordingI have tried so many things to clean up background noise when recording with a remote guest, and this is the only thing that has ever really worked. I did not have any problem with glitching. I edit audio recordings through GarageBand on my Mac, so I had to do some back-and-forth between my computer and my phone, but that wasn’t a big deal at all especially when you have an iCloud Drive (just export the vocals as a wag or mp3 to open in the app). One thing I will say that made a difference is running the vocals through your regular filters before exporting it and running it through this app; putting just a noise gate on the recording both before and after you run it through this app makes a really big difference. Only Great ExperiencesMaybe the negative reviews are from people trying to process audio in standalone mode? For my workflow which involves using Brusfri as an AUv3 on all of my vocals, recorded in GarageBand & Cubasis using the built in mic, Brusfri has been an invaluable resource. It has run perfectly on the XS Max, 11 Pro Max, and will probably run as well on the 12 Pro Max once I start recording again. I can't imagine working without this app. I usually set my noise floor *before* recording so that it sounds most natural [as it's less prone to quiet my breathing]. But it usually works just well when applied after recording. You'll want to add at least a little reverb in either case & then it's lovely. I really pray that Klevgrand brings more apps to iPhone because they offer amazing tools. There's no other noise gate as intuitive or simple to use..Version: 1.1.0
Not perfect, but dang good.This apps works well on light background sounds. The kind that annoy you because it’s something you can’t help. Like white and pink noise, background chatter in a restaurant, certain kinds of mechanical noises. In some cases it nearly eliminates all of it and in others it helps cut the noise but not silent it. I tried using it on an interview at a Starbucks on a busy Blvd. We sat outside on a patio. I had used a lav mic but Brusfri could not even touch the sound of traffic and I had given the app a minute of sound sample to work with. Works Great! March 1st, 2022 ReviewI did my research online for a product to help me with sound editing, and this one took the cake on reviews by other creators. I use LumaFusion on on the iPad and was going to add this as a plug-in. I started using it and it works very well. Brusfri is very simple to use and the audio quality is great after you filter out the background noise. Upon further inspection while playing with the other settings, it’s very helpful with bringing out audio that you actually want to hear. It has made my life much easier. ABSOLUTE NECESSITY!This app has been phenomenal and I use it on many tracks in any project I and working on. It quickly and easily analyzes the sound then sets noise gate type settings and can really improve the quality of any audio track I find and you can tweak the arrack release and threshold to your liking. I have found nothing that even comes close for iPad. This thing cleans up messy audio tracks fantastically and is a vital audio unit and in my list of top ten most used AUv3. So Easy to useI just down loaded it after watching Pete John on you tube. Used in a DAW on any track or stem in a space of background noise that needs to be removed. If your recording in an area with fan noise computer noise hum from your mic or guitar or even breathing noise when talking or singing it will remove it or greatly reduce unwanted background noise. This filter takes out the unwanted noise over the entire track. I did a test on a noisy vocal track that had breathing noise. What I did was re-recorded breathing noise on that track in an area unaffected. It cleaned up the entire vocal track. 15 bucks well spent..Version: 1.1.4

Almost MiraculousThis is an amazing app. It works best when you can sample a part of your track for several seconds, but I just finished a project where there were video clips where I could only sample dead parts of a second or less, and it still did an outstanding job of reducing noise. I did have the problem where it would not import a track until I tried twice (it would retain the old track after the first non-import). Second time it always worked. I would deduct a bit from the rating for that, but when compared with what it accomplishes, I still had to give it five stars. Wonderful app..Version: 1.1.0
IOS 13 crippled BrusfriBrusfri was useful until it became less interoperable with some workflows... it no longer is an available option when sharing your audio to another app. Hard to explain but have faith the developers will update because there is value in this plug when the versatile workflows are working..Version: 1.1.0
Good.test more IAA compatibilityGreat app.if you import a file. Bought it hoping it would work as an IAA without having to use Audiobus Doesn’t work with Harmonicdog Multitrack DAW, which is my go-to. Works in AUM, Audiobus.. IAA is so hit and miss these days, so only way to see if it will work with your “go-to” app is to buy it first..I’ll put this down on the list of the other 10 effects apps I have bought that don’t work.. looking forward to next update.Version: 1.1.0
Works for me!I got a little spooked by the bad reviews and the $15 price tag, but I decided to try it out anyway. I’m using it as an AUv3 FX plugin in Cubasis 3 and it works like a charm. One good tricK if it’s possible, is to record a few seconds of “silence” at the beginning of your audio to establish the background noise profile that the “Learn” function will use. Overall I couldn’t be more pleased with the performance and ease of use of this plugin. I haven’t tried the standalone app..Version: 1.1.4

Amazing app to get rid of background noise!Guys this app is amazing to remove background noise from your tracks!! I can’t believe how good this app was until I purchased it and tried it in Garageband on my iphone. I wish the app developers would come up with a version that is compatible with Mac OS as well. Great for LumaFusion filmmakers.A terrific app for using with LumaFusion to clean up the sometimes unwanted ambient noise in video audio files. Amazing iOS applicationIt’s been a while now for me and Brusfri. One of the only things I couldn’t do from my iPad was pull the background hiss out of some audio recordings. Best app ever!!!!I don’t really write reviews but I had to! This app has saved my song covers. I have a good microphone but I get so much stactic and I couldn’t figured out how to use noise gate properly on garageband. It would always ruin my recording and didn’t sound good. Until I watched a video on YouTube about Brusfri I was a little nervous to buy this happen. But I’m glad I did so easy and simple and I get buzz free recordings so happy!
