Florence Positive Reviews

Florence is lifeRight off the bat, Florence captivated me with its art style and somber music. The story is nothing new, but Annapurna Interactive manages to mesh in the right music, character development, and pacing to create a compelling and believable story. I imagine there will be lots of people who will identify with Florence- those who have been working meaningless full time jobs that make them feel hollow and unfulfilled. To those, Florence speaks that it is worth taking a step back to consider pursuing your dreams and passions- it is never too late. To those expecting a happily ever after ending, Florence affirms our understanding that despite our best wishes and intents, life doesn’t always go the way that we want it too. People come into our lives, and sometimes they go. But Florence teaches us to not let those experiences tear us down. In having new people come into our lives, we learn new things about them and about ourselves. Meeting new people is an essential part of self discovery that allows us to harness what we learn about ourselves and use that knowledge to shape a happier and better future..Version: 1.0.3

This was beautiful, moving storytellingI was really impressed by how they told such a compelling engaging story in this medium- relying primarily on interactive visuals. It was such creative visual storytelling and a joy to experience this whole arc in florence's life. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ The story's format and the tools they used to tell it was really impressive to me because of the skillfulness and partially because it's a novel format. Apps that tell stories artistically are fairly new to me, and fairly new in general! This app did a wonderful job. it seems like a really lovely way to explore a character-focused piece, which I love. it takes creativity to devise methods of communicating the highs and lows in such a clear and precise way... I loved it and thanks to the people who worked on it :-) To everyone else: I definitely recommend giving it a shot and supporting it if you can. the story itself explores heartbreak but is also very encouraging. 🌱🌿 The music and art and interactive elements all throughout worked together so beautifully..Version: 1.0.1

BeautifulHonestly this game reminds me of a John Green novel, like The Fault in our Stars, or, the up and coming Love Simon. It has a beautiful tragedy story with an elegant simplicity and after getting your heart torn apart, the game lovingly puts it back together. The emotions this game produces linger even after finishing the game for a few weeks now, giving a lovingly bittersweet forlorn hug to your heart. One this game was entirely worth the money I paid for it, although the game itself is a little elementary with gameplay, though that was intended. The downside to these easy touch, tap, and drag controls is that the game passes by incredibly quickly and ends very soon. Upon the breakup of the main characters, the healing process the game allows you to progress through is a great time lengthener but all in all the game was still a bit short (but again, the storyline is very well developed and fleshed out). Overall the game is worth a purchase but the time spent playing will not last long..Version: 1.0.1

Stress reliever!!!At first I couldn’t figure out how to play this, even when the little clues would pop up. But once I figured it out.... (which by then my anxiety was a thing of the past because my mind was somewhere else)...I then continued playing this game and figuring out what each life scenario will be. Whether it’s changing jobs and packing up your personal things from on top your desk into a box or having a new LOVE and packing your apartment up with items to take it to his apartment and then unpacking to put the items from the box and placing them on his tv stand or whatever. I really do like this app. It really is a relaxing game with a handful of chapters to go through. I think mine just ended with no more chapters to play I’m not sure yet I’ll find out. Oryou can just start again. Only thing is I believe you will be starting the same game & doing the same thing. I’ll try and write another review after I find out..Version: 1.0.5

Up to your preference. It captivates you when you see the amazing reviews and it’s a love/life story; perfect for the consumer who wants to inflict waves of emotions for about 10-30 minutes. The artwork and the effort that is put into this game makes it worth the money since I didn’t have to buy any extensions, and rather than wasting my money on other pleasures, I’d thought I’d purchase the game just as one would go to see a movie. The storyline was predictable. It is similar to every other coming of age and love story combined into one. The true value of the game is in the detail though. While some may find it tedious or want to rush through it, they will not get the smaller details with the mini games. In summary, definitely a pleasant experience for myself since I was able to catch on to almost every small detail, however, if you are one to rush through games without realizing the purpose as to why everything happens in the order it proceeds in, then this one may not be for you. Loved it..Version: 1.0.1

BeautifulI like puzzle games and I enjoy graphic novels. This app is both of them with a heartfelt storyline that I can be a part of. I had been off and on again with a man for three years thinking it was going to work. I have felt guilty ever since we had stopped talking. I wanted to be an individual and be true to myself and what I wanted. After a while of not having in my life and just now playing this game, I am reassured that I made the right choice and it was for myself. I am a wonderful person with or without another person romantically. I will do what. Want to do and grow from what my previous relationships and friendships have taught me: to love myself and do what I want and need to do. This game made me cry several times because of how relatable and warm it felt. I appreciate this game and all it is worth. Because it is work a hundred times over in wonder and genuine work..Version: 1.0.4

Short and only somewhat InteractiveThe game is artistically brilliant but I purchased it thinking it would be more interactive and that your choices would make the story evolve in different ways. That is not what you get here. It’s the same story beautifully animated over and over never it changes and is very short. I have a hard time calling this a game, instead it is like an animated children’s book but with an adult theme. The story ends very simply and quickly. I ran through the game twice within a 24 hour period, each time I played it differently and was disappointed that the story doesn’t change or challenge you intellectually. It’s a brief emotional feast and allows you to have a connection to a traditional young couple’s very basic highs and lows. Although the game is beautiful and brilliantly made, I wouldn’t recommend spending money on it. I do see potential for a more evolving and interactive storyline that would take weeks to get through, and that’s something I would spend money on..Version: 1.0.4

An Emotionally Resonant Interactive NarrativePublisher Annapurna has released several masterful games this year. From the offbeat humor of Donut County to the innovative beauty of Gorgoa, this publisher has gone out of its way to prove that phones can be a viable platform for interactive art. While those two titles are also playable on a PC, Florence is a game that works only on phones. It’s use of simple touchscreen puzzles as a metaphor for the stages in a failed relationship is brilliant. There is nothing new about the story told in Florence, but its universal themes of drifting apart with loved ones, finding solace in friends and family, and growing from even negative experiences, are effectively conveyed. Florence is only about half an hour long, but it’s breathtaking score, painterly artwork, and affecting tale combine to make it not only well worth the asking price, but one of the best games on the App Store. Bravo..Version: 1.0.4

Worth Every Penny and I wish more works of art existed like thisI absolutely adored this game. It had beautiful artistry, the puzzles were very poetic to each part of the story. Overall the feeling the game gives you is amazing. Every bit of frustration or misunderstanding is intentional to cause an emotion. Only Cons: I wish there was a little more player choice. I liked the touches where what we created ended up in certain parts but I wish there were multiple endings. Also, the translations from mandarin were a little off. Just by a bit. For example, there was a part where there were three sentences in mandarine and there translations a little brisk if I do say so myself. It’s such a little tick but being someone who is fluent enough to read most of it just made me do a little double take..Version: 1.0.3

Beautiful.I’m in love with Florence. Her optimism, her joy fullness, and her life story. She starts off as a young girl dreaming of art. Her mother thinks she should stick to schoolwork but she prefers art. She grows up to be a teenager. She realizes it’s not all playing pretend anymore. She grows up and starts working. She isn’t happy with her choice. She meets a man who inspires her to fulfill her dreams, and she does the same to him. They go through a rough patch & break up. The end- she gets over him. But couldn’t you add more? I finished this story in less than 20 minutes. Not saying it’s a bad thing but now I have no use for the app. I spent money on an app I would only use for 20 minutes. I want more. Do they get back together? Does she become a grandma and die of old age? Do her grandkids and kids give her a rough time? Does she fulfill her artists career to its full?.Version: 1.0.3

Great story but I wish it were longerEverything about this game is fantastic from the music which is stunning. So I highly highly recommend headphones. The gameplay is great with having to actually do everything yet it doesn’t feel like a chore. The story is beautiful I won’t spoil anything but it brought a tear to my eye. The only thing I wish were that it would’ve been longer. The game feels like a deep kids book the way the art style and music gives it that vibe but that’s not in any way trying to take away from its beauty. I got the game as a treat since Valentines Day is tomorrow so why not and I ran through it in about 30 mins. It’s worth the money if you want a good story with stunning visuals, and a beautiful soundtrack. Just sit back with a blanket and enjoy it’s worth it :).Version: 1.0.5

Beautiful, but underwhelmingI’m a huge fan of indie games, and have been recommended Florence a few times before downloading. The storyline is simple, but what it lacks in plot, it makes up for with beautiful design and smooth gameplay. Aesthetically, it’s a complete knockout - the soundtrack adds to the experience, and isn’t distracting, and the art style is very light and easy to understand. My problem is with the overall experience. The game was over much too quickly (seriously, I finished all of it in about half an hour), and I greatly disliked how little the player can actually control/do. Based off of the ads, I was expecting an interactive story, kind of a choose-your-own-adventure type thing. Instead, I got to watch the events happen while moving around a few things and clicking buttons. Like the subject line, this app was aesthetically a success, but lacked in quality..Version: 1.0.5

Innovating Visual NovelsI loved Florence for so many reasons!! As an artist, as a storyteller, as both a comics and games fan— the amount of care and precision shone through in every way for this game! With so little dialogue, the gameplay carried the story in personal ways that words couldn’t. The colors, the art, the music, the characters— all wonderfully built and beautifully presented. I especially loved the way visual novels and gaming were integrated to further the storytelling— dialogue getting easier as you grow familiar, literally “pushing” each other, and understanding change as a series of puzzles the player must solve for themselves to proceed. It was a wonderful way to read through a story, and my only complaint was that it was so short. I hope to see more projects for the future!.Version: 1.0.3

DifferentI’ll admit I went through this story fast as I was impatient then around midway I slightly regretted it...Florence is a beautiful story well told and I absolutely love the hands on aspect; you get a slight glimmer of her life as though she is a real person you know. It’s basically a story of a girl who falls in love then learns how to move on and fall in love again except when she falls in love again, it’s with herself. It a good reminder to what matters most in life. Amazing character development for all the characters in the story. Looking forward to more stories from this developer! Also if you’re worried about spending money remember that the ‘free’ games really aren’t free whereas this one you get and pay what you see. Honestly the best money I’ve spent on a mobile game ♥️.Version: 1.0.5

Beautiful gameplay, but shallowThis was a beautiful game, every detail is flawless and full of expression. As a piece of art, the game expresses a new way of storytelling that I am very much delighted by. Conversations are turned into puzzles, dreams into canvases, and routine everyday life into rote mechanics. What I wish for, and hope to see in their next game, is more character development. Playing the game, while the mechanics and art are enthralling, you can't help but feel that you don't actually know the characters at all. You're just watching something play out from an incredibly distant vantage point, occassionally acting as them but rarely understanding. I imagine most of this comes from no real dialogue in the game, which is a great design decision but I don't think needs to necessarily come at the expense of character development like it seems to here..Version: 1.0.2

WowI follow a lot of artists on Twitter and they had picked up on this game, saying how creative and good it was, so I thought I would give it a try. Every review of it so far has basically said it’s amazing, but they just wish it was longer.... and I couldn’t agree more. This little interactive game is so simple, yet so inventive the way you get to interact with/as Florence. The artwork was beautiful, I loved the style, and the storyline was superb- I felt that breakup with every fiber in my being! (Yes, I’ll admit I may have shed a couple of tears... it was just so real!) Anyway, I don’t usually leave reviews on stuff but this game was just so wholesome and good and ended on a positive note, which I appreciated. Worth the small fee to play it- trust me, you’ll agree after you’ve finished it too!.Version: 1.0.1

It really IS worth itAs someone who is currently studying game design, I wholeheartedly recommend Florence. And while I do not agree with the lower ratings it receives, I do understand their complaints. And yes, as a game, it’s not very interesting. You have to have the mindset of a visual novel or interactive narrative. Having you take part in the story and interact with visual representations of their relationship is really powerful and emotional. There’s a part where I literally said out loud “No!!” And it made my roommate wonder if I was okay or not (poor guy, I think I scared the crap out of him). But in terms of price, this potentially costs as much or even less than the coffee you get at Starbucks or wherever. And here, I’d say your getting more for what your paying, no matter how short it is..Version: 1.0.1

A deceptively simple and deeply affecting experienceOn a mechanical level, one may spend an hour on a single playthrough/reading of Florence, in terms of the whole experience I know that it will leave a continual impression on me not only through repeat visits but in spending time with the work as a whole. The music, art style, and interactive elements of the narrative are all delightful, even writing about them in a rather vague manner kindles some joy in me. The themes and larger story of Florence, though, is what makes it most thoroughly connect with me. Each chapter feels like a vignette into one of the many facets/dimensions of the actions and experiences that make up love. I look forward to meditating on these themes in my own writing and in conversation and in my alone time..Version: 1.0.5

A charming game with a lovely styleAlthough the game was short, it’s style and storyline made it a charming game that I really enjoyed playing. I had never encountered a game quite like this one —sort of a interactive story-like game — but I enjoyed watching the life of the main character unfold to tell an uplifting story about life and love. It’s art style and music made the game unique and added to its charm, a lovely style I’m looking forward to in future games by these developers. I’m not much of a person for romantic or love themed games, but I took a chance on this game and was pleasantly surprised by it. I’m wholeheartedly looking forward to future games that this group has to offer and would recommend this game to anyone who enjoys a thoughtful and artfully constructed story..Version: 1.0.5

It really is beautiful! At first I’m like “lol how can a game be beautiful?”. Honestly, I never write reviews. This game is actually beautiful, it’s so calming and sweet. I feel like I’m lost in a sweet cartoon movie. Something like coraline but nothing remotely that has to do with coraline. But it just gives me that type of cartoon vibe but in a more sweet way. A kind of Sundance film. Lol well anyone that plays the game knows what I mean. It’s just so nice. To be honest I’m really bad at explaining myself for the most part 😂. Well I should just cut to the point. The game is awesome and very relaxing. It’s interactive but tells a story. It’s really nice for people who enjoy love movies and sweet moments. Watching someone grow from a child to a woman to finding love. Really worth the few dollars in my opinion..Version: 1.0.5

A tale of love and life.Florence is a game where you follow Florence Yeoh as she goes through her young adult life, and as she finds love with a musician named Krish. Simple puzzles and interactive events make up the bulk of the gameplay, but that’s not really the focus here, it’s the story. It's told through charming art and beautiful music, without the need of dialogue. I was absolutely taken immediately with Florence's story, seeing some parallels to my own day to day routine. Florence is breath of fresh air for me, as I've recently had my heels dug in with Breath of the Wild, so it was nice to play something so relaxing and lovingly crafted that really played to my emotions. Fair warning, Florence eschews gameplay in favor of storytelling, so if that sounds like something you'd be interested, it has my highest recommendation..Version: 1.0.1

Love this gameA short real but great story. I love the style so much, it’s simple but beautiful. The romantic met, sweet process, and the ending of leaving each other, made me uncontrollably think about me and my ex who just broke up several days ago. I used to be hurt so much and just could not get out of it, of those great memories we both have and did together. I’m so thankful that this game tells me what to do. Thank you for letting me know the simplest principle: whatever how important they meant to us, everyone is just a story, which can only be a story, closing its think cover. I finally know that I should let those beauty go, let him go, and look for new scenery in my life. Great game, hoping there will be more ones like this..Version: 1.0.5

Simple and SweetThis endeavor by the makers of Monument did not disappoint me. They executed a clean design with easily understood mechanics. The story was simple but impactful due to a well-traced arc that follows a coming-of-age experience about young love. As a classical violin player, the beautiful score wasn’t expected, but certainly welcome—it added incredible depth to the images on screen. This game would not have been the same without it. The gameplay takes half and hour or so, but it engages in the things I wish more video games would—human identity, interaction, and experience. I’ve already made all my close relations play it, gamer or no. They’ve all loved it and found themselves surprisingly invested in the same way I was. This game, in short, is a gem..Version: 1.0.1

Why Florence is Worth Your Three DollarsJust finished Florence and woo boy, what a ride. First off, yeah, I’d say this is worth $3. That’s not me putting off this experience or saying it’s cheap, but rather that it’s about the right price for the length of the game. Florence as a game is straightforward: It’s basically an interactive comic. There’s barely any words, just wonderfully illustrated scenes and perfect accompanying music. The haptic feedback is satisfying, and the “gameplay” is super-duper simple, often implementing drag-and-drop mechanics or thumb-swiping to keep things moving. But the story is the big draw here, and while it is rather short, it’s a good-un, and it’s brilliant in how it conveys so much with so little. If you’re into an emotion-stirring story with believable, tragically and wonderfully human characters, this is a great choice. It’ll get ya. In conclusion, Florence is a spectacular little title for this new (I’m assuming new) team of game designers and storytellers, and I very much look forward to what else they have to offer in terms of emotive and compelling experiences like this one in the future. I’m on board to support whatever’s next! Great job, guys!.Version: 1.0.1

Beautiful Game, But I Wish it was longerI became obsessed with this game, once seeing it on tiktok, i never purchase games… so i was very iffy about downloading Florence. I finally caved and downloaded it about an hour ago, and already have finished it. it’s a beautiful game, with a great storyline and somewhat interactive choices. I enjoyed it, and i felt like i really learned the hard lessons of life, and finding yourself! The Game goes into detail of Florence’s relationship with her mother, her relationships and also focuses on her artistic passion! Although i really love the game, i do wish it was longer, and more interactive! This game does cost money, and i was honestly expecting more then just an hour of playtime… however i do realize that deeply detailed games like this do take hours of work, and passion. I think this a quick game that can teach you alot, but i think it would be better with the opportunity to continue to grow with florence through the years, and/or go into more detail of her current life/career. there aren’t many interactive choices, other then arguments, talking to her mother, and a couple taping/scrolling moments..Version: 1.0.5

A Wonderful and Heartbreaking StoryI don’t normally play games on my phone but something about Florence caught my eye. I had always heard wonderful things about Monument Valley and wanted to give Florence a chance. I’m glad I did. Even if broke my heart slightly in the process. I’ve been a fan of video games since I was a kid but Florence uplifts the medium in a way I have never experienced. It’s a short but powerful and incredible experience. If you get the chance, please delve into this beautiful story. It’s worth every penny. I think I really needed a game like this in my life at this moment. Thank you to everyone who put their love into this game. It shows and I’m a happier person after completing this. Thank you, thank you!.Version: 1.0.1

PLAY THIS ITS WORTH THE $3This game was awesome. The interactive element is so artfully done, and it made the story feel so intimate and real. I cried multiple times. If I had to nitpick, I would’ve liked to see a little more autonomy with the gameplay; yes there are some parts where you’re given a lot of choice as to what you do, but as far as I can tell, there’s no point where the gameplay or choices you make have a significant impact on the story. This format would be perfect with a network of different endings and outcomes based on how you play the different interactive sections. Regardless, it was an amazing and moving experience, and I’m recommending it to all my friends. Thanks.Version: 1.0.5

An intensely moving, gorgeous, and altogether unexpected delightFlorence is unlike anything I’ve ever played or experienced on a gaming platform. It is an innovative combination of graphics, storytelling, and ingenious use of the touch screen platform to poignantly and powerfully illustrate the nuances of the emotional journey people go through in relationships and the subsequent navigation of them. The music is absolutely gorgeous and the interactivity is a spot on brilliant combination of simple touch and profound illustration of the emotional highs and lows that go along with life from the perspective of its title character. I would give this game 10 stars if I could - I only wish it would be a longer storyline. I’m eager to see what comes next - bravo, team Annapurna..Version: 1.0.3

Cinematic Dream in FlorenceMy newest addition is Florence! From the creators of Monument Valley, Florence is such a beautifully designed interactive application for designers, artists, musicians (the instrumental pieces are on point- you can download the album separately), and the like. The story-telling is unbelievably fun with human markers of a roller coaster ride of human daily struggle and happiness. As a short cinematic, visual representation of a story about a woman named Florence going about her life, this interactive piece of a story comes with no dialogue - to demonstrate this with just images and sound, I am in awe of the work! It shows that you do not need a game that is continuously long or never-ending; sometimes all you need is short game to get you thru your day..Version: 1.0.3

I criedAlright I’m not ashamed to admit that I cried. First, I was intrigued by the cute story, and the beautiful artwork. Then I was touched by the music, and the budding relationship. I cried some happy tears when things were great, and I cried some sad tears when it all went downhill. I also loved the symbolism of the speech bubbles, and how the easier the puzzle, the easier the words came to the person’s mouth. How things seemed difficult and awkward on the first dates, but conversation got easier and easier. But on the flip side, with the arguments, it seemed to get easier and easier for the characters to say the hurtful words. Excellent, I wish I could rate it 6/5 stars and it is worth your money!.Version: 1.0.5

Different outcomes?Very good ideas and style of game but for $2.99 a little disappointing. In my defense the game only lasted about 10 minutes for one little play through and I’m a hopeless romantic. I think other levels or endings added would be good for this game so people could get more out of their $3. This game kind of broke my heart so I think an ending where they work together and work it out would be cute. Maybe you guys could add some more levels that your decisions have a guide to different a ending. Overall this game is very lovely but I would like to see more added to the game since it would be boring to just keep playing the same thing over again. <3.Version: 1.0.5

Truly BeautifulThis story was done in such a way you became involved with the characters so quickly. I love how each interactive part was connected with what was happening in the story. I still have a lump in my throat from all of the emotions the storyline and the music made me feel. It reminds me of my own relationships and how even the hurtful ones make you who you are. I always hate to watch my daughter feel the pain of certain life events, but those events are necessary and build us bit by bit. If life was perfect all of the time we would be bored or we wouldn’t appreciate the wonderful times so much. So glad I found this app..Version: 1.0.4

Can’t Wait For More Games!!!Full of beautiful visuals, amazing story telling, and beyond pleasant music, Florence is the pinochle of what a story based app can be. So simplistic yet so wonderfully done, I found myself coming back to the app even though I’d finished the game. It’s so satisfying to complete such a lovely game, you may just end up like me, playing it as a way to get inspired and relax even though your first play through can be emotionally driven. This is the first app by these creators, and I’m extremely excited for more story based games by them! This game was truly a labor of love, and it really shows through it all. ❤️ Thank you for one of my favorite apps.Version: 1.0.1

Values the simplicity of lifeEven though life may seem unpredictable so many times, it’s how you choose to live through the moments that really makes it count. And this game perfectly pointed out this lesson. It was when Florence chose to go with the unexpected, outside her comfort zone, that she grew the most and life, slowly but surely, blossomed with opportunities and new experiences. I would say that *despite* the game being a lot shorter than expected, it is surely worth the investment of $3. I’m certain that you will be left with a good reflection in mind even once the game is done. Congrats to the creators and their different, genius and subtle proposal for an interactive game!.Version: 1.0.2

I loved this app. For so many reasons.I rarely spend money on apps that aren’t productivity or something to help with the chores in life. I was drawn to this because of the artwork. Simple yet so beautiful. I purchased and am so happy I did. The story is so sweet. A little sad. But incredibly written with few words and mostly the artwork. I bought it awhile ago and when I saw it on the stories in the App Store I decided to download it again an revisit the characters that I have learned to love. This app won’t disappoint you. I came because I liked the artwork and I ended up completely in love with the characters and the story..Version: 1.0.5

A short art game worth paying forLet’s get a couple of things straight up front: 1. Florence is not so much a game as an interactive short story. 2. You can play through it in around 30 minutes, and though I haven’t tried playing it through a second time, it doesn’t appear to have much replay value. Nonetheless I was happy to give the developers $3 for the experience of playing this unique game. It was a lot more memorable than the 3/4 of a drink at Starbucks I could have spent the money on instead. The thing that stands out to me about Florence is the way it uses game mechanics as metaphors. I can’t go into much detail without spoiling anything, but for example there are parts that involve puzzle pieces. Some reviews have griped about the apparent simplicity of this mechanic, but that misses the point. Notice when the puzzles get more and less complex. There are some powerful statements about people and relationships under the veneer of this game. 5/5 would cry on my iPad again..Version: 1.0.3

Florence The Great!!!This game is awesome😍 It’s really an interactive graphic novel but there are elements that do challenge the player/reader/user to think. I loved every moment of it. It’s so creative and inspiring for those who are creative!!! Please don’t miss an opportunity to not only experience but support this great app. It is as uplifting and fun as it is unique, albeit a bit heart breaking. And you get out of it more than you pay for it! Kudos to the developers for coming up with this great app. All of you must be an amazingly creative group of people! Thanks for putting something so beautiful that is actually worth buying in the App Store!!!!.Version: 1.0.1

A Review worth readingI know, “is it worth buying?” I would say yes. I’m the kind of person who has anxiety and lots of stress, and I’ve been looking for an app that will relieve it. I’ve looked at games that google told me to try, and even apps with the word calm in the title, but they’ve all been a waste of time and-or money. This app wasn’t recommended as a “calming app” but it soothes me 100 percent. From the INCREDIBLE music to the beautiful art, it is money worth spent, because once I clicked on the app for the first time, I knew I would play it over and over, until my brain had literally done yoga. So yes, it’s a good investment 100%..Version: 1.0.3

It’s amazingFlorence is an amazing game that tells a very heart warming story even though it has a short length the game will make you feel all kind of emotions while playing this game shows what phone games are capable of being that instead of just addicting ad filled games this one tells a good story now I will warn you it has a short length I beat it in about 30 minutes but it’s still fantastic and I hope this game gets a Pc port so it can more wider audience may check it out I give this a solid 9/10 it’s really good and I can’t to see what else this team develops in the future.Version: 1.0.5

Emotional!!!I rarely cry and pride myself on that. This app did not take long at all to run through, but it jerked at my heart! Every time I had to close the box up... I had such a hard time doing it. I cried and fell in love with the main character, Florence. This is what relationships are like in the real world and it’s nice to see something portrayed so accurately. [SPOILER ALERT: Not all relationships work out perfectly like Hallmark channel but nonetheless they’re still beautiful and part of shaping who we are] In conclusion, this app is very thought-provoking and really helps you to connect with others’ emotions. Well worth it!.Version: 1.0.5

DisappointedFlorence is a really well made game with vibrant colors that is quite touching. However, I take issue with two elements of the game. The incredibly limited amount of choice, and the shortness was a bit disappointing for the money I paid. Although it was very heart felt, the story last about 20 minutes. This is fine, as long as you know you are purchasing a visual novel and not a game. I say it’s a visual novel because of the lack of choice. The gameplay mechanics are incredibly infantile and offer you no way to change the direction in which the story is going. This is nice in some parts because it hardens the impact, but in others it really feels like it limits it. Overall disappointing..Version: 1.0.3

A Wonderful Little ExperienceDo yourself a favor and don’t pass up this game. Florence was one of the most enjoyable gaming experiences I’ve had in quite some time. I wouldn’t hesitate to call Florence a work of art. The music is just so pleasant to the ears. I spent extra time in each Chapter of the game listening to the music. The visual style is ever so charming. And the story is one that just grabs you by the heart. It definitely made me feel something that most games don’t, and it is relatable. Florence is a gem. I hope more and more people check this game out because it deserves any praise it is given..Version: 1.0.5

A universal tale of young loveIt's 99 cents, seriously, what are you waiting for?? I first played this game when it was originally released and every now and again, I pick it up once more. The story of young love you’ve heard 1000 times, making it all the more impressive that the developers managed to convey a narrative in a way that stands out. Florence made me feel stronger emotions in it’s roughly 45 minute playtime than most romcoms do over two hours. This game is wonderful and it’s a steal at 99 cents. You’ll thank me later, just give it a try..Version: 1.0.5

Resonant and Wonderful! This was an absolutely beautiful experience. The music and the artwork are splendid, and they both work together with the story to strike an emotional chord. I love the way that this app explores the way individuals have an effect on our lives, even if they are only there for a short time. Having gone through a spell of having to find myself post-breakup, I found myself tearing up at how poignantly this aspect of relationships is explored in ‘Florence.’ Though it is a little short (~1 hour), I truly think this is a perfect experience, and one very much worth your money and time..Version: 1.0

Deserves some creditThe experience was a healthy attempt at something new and different. The story was relatable (I even look a little like Florence!) and I felt that the finished product was something from the heart. The music is really very beautiful to me— the richest part of the game. Big compliments there!! To be honest, I just wasn’t able to get as emotionally involved in the story as I would have liked— Despite evident thoughtfulness on the part of the makers, I still felt that many of the ways I was asked to interact were not enough to close the gap between myself and the story. The game play may have lacked certain nuances, but I think it’s a necessary step in the process of making something better next time... all in all I’d spend the money again if for no other reason than to support the continued growth of the idea and the people behind it. The game struck me as very sincere, made with warmth and honesty. We should want the media we consume to come from places as kind as these..Version: 1.0.5

Storytelling in a captivating new wayAs an illustrator this game spoke to me on so many levels. The stunning visuals, amusing interactions and phenomenal sound all come together to really invite you into Florence’s world. Her thoughts and feelings are wordlessly conveyed and you can’t help but feel them right alongside of her. The entire platform is a completely new way of story telling. The idea of interactive storytelling combines the best parts of comics, illustrations, music, movies and video game. If this is the future of illustrative story telling than sign me up! Absolutely amazing job done by everyone who worked on this app. Bravo!.Version: 1.0.1

Three cheers for story tellingFlorence is a sweet tale of romance and love. It's more short story form than a novel. Good for a train ride to the city. The interactive portions are like artistic or musical flourishes than ”interaction,” which might leave you feeling more like an observer than a participant. The speech bubbles are an excellent metaphor for how we often struggle to find the right words, but all the pieces fit into place when the right person comes along. I enjoyed the characters. It's classic young love. I'd like the game designers delve deeper into character for their next work. There's lots more to explore by creating more complex characters and characterizations to go with them..Version: 1.0.2

This transcends gaming into artFirst let me say if you believe that a game can transcend into art and are willing to be swept away into a narrative that’s emotional, thoughtfully executed, and immersive, then you will like this game. This is not a challenging video game per se, but more of an interactive story. I learned things about myself through playing, though I’m sure that certainly won’t be everyone’s experience. The game is short, but every part of it was very well thought out and the game at no point feels like it’s dragging, so I do not see this as a con. I personally highly recommend this game..Version: 1.0.3

BeautifulThis game is just a beautiful adventure, the ending was a bit of a let down but the message it sent was very nice. It’s pretty short but still very good..Version: 1.0

Such a good game!I am absolutely amazed by how this game was designed. The interaction tied to the story nicely, you are not just clicking button or move things around on the screen, you are actually moving the story forward and it feels like you are the character. I wish the story could continue or have other chapters to show how the boy is doing..Version: 1.0

FastasticA sweet story with brilliant interactivity..Version: 1.0.5

It’s an experienceThis is not a game, but an interactive story. It’s endearing and charming, but frankly there is almost nothing to do and there are is nothing challenging about it whatsoever. It’s just a story told through this medium and it’s a good one of those..Version: 1.0.5

Great jobDidn’t want it to end. Nice story!.Version: 1.0.5

Great little game!I really liked the story, and had a good time playing it. Because the story is broken into chapters, I was able to pick up and play throughout my day with breaks in between, which I liked. I also liked the puzzles. Apart of me wishes the game supported landscape mode more on iPad, because holding the iPad in portrait mode can be awkward sometimes. Spoilers! Only real thing I wish the game detailed more was what caused the breakup in the first place. And apart of me wishes he showed up at the end at the gallery..Version: 1.0.1

To shortIt was such a fun game I loved it so much but I paid money for it and think that it ended too early.Version: 1.0.3

FlorenceWAY too short! Nice “little” story but disappointingly short..Version: 1.0.3

GoodBeautiful artwork. Very cute. Storyline was fine..Version: 1.0.3

Short, but sweet.Beautiful graphics, wholesome storyline and very calming. Buuut $4 for a 20 min interactive story seems a little steep since I won’t be “playing” it again..Version: 1.0.3

Pretty goodHonestly the ending kinda was a let down and I don’t think it was worth 4$ for such a short story. The music and the storyline was cute but I wish it didn’t cost as much.Version: 1.0.3

ReviewIt’s a very good game! Amazing artwork and animation but it sucks how it ends within a few chapters. I finished the whole game in about 20 minutes on the subway. Disappointed because I spent 3.99 on this game only to find out it takes 20 minutes to play. Hopefully you update it and add more chapters or a whole new story..Version: 1.0.3

Absolutely wonderfulBeautifully done.Version: 1.0.5

Very creative!I think the story is cute but not interesting enough. The ending was not satisfying. If the story is more interesting this game would be a 5 star. Still is a very creative and beautiful game!.Version: 1.0.1

So simply beautifulIt was quick but the story was amazing and brought a few tears. Lovely art work, would recommend highly to friends..Version: 1.0

One of the goatsMost games try to do what this game does in 30 hours not 30 minutes.Version: 1.0.5

BEST GAME EVERThis game is so awesome! The art is incredible, the music is super and the storytelling is great!.Version: 1.0.5

Yes.Just yes..Version: 1.0.5

Elegant story! This game subtly captured the helplessness one experiences during a heartbreak—the pieces are still there, but you just can’t put them back together. Well done!.Version: 1.0.5

FlorenceThis was a very good game for me to play. It was very entertaing.☺️☺️☺️.Version: 1.0.5

I’m not crying, you’re cryingBravo.Version: 1.0.5

BeautifulTouching game, already had me tearing up in the beginning. Wish the ending was a bit longer, the game is pretty short for the money that you pay for, but the experience is beautiful. This game has some fantastic ideas..Version: 1.0.5

Une pépite non savouréeTrès courte d’histoire d’une durée de 30 à 45 minutes, mais qui promet! Le prix devrait se restreindre à 1,99$..Version: 1.0.5

TherapyThis was recommended to me from my therapist as a rOCD homework... I suppose it wasn't the intended purpose of this app, but it's great ERP for 4$ (Played it again and again) :) s/o to my therapist for that one (:.Version: 1.0.5

Cute storyline and artwork! Loved the music!A relatable story for coming of age adults. Cute artwork and beautiful soundtrack. My partner bought this game for my birthday, so it’s a bit sentimental for me. 💕 (I gave it a 4 because I wanted alternative endings lol 😂).Version: 1.0.5

Great narrative gameThis was my first time playing a narrative game and I actually almost felt like crying in it.Version: 1.0.5

Totally charmingI loved this. So immersive and moving, despite its apparent simplicity. Great storytelling. Bravo..Version: 1.0.5

Nice interactive graphic novelIt was like reading a comic book, with music and some interactions. There is very little text but the visual speaks clearly. I was very moved by the story and loved how hopeful it was. The drawings and colours are beautiful. It was quite short but a lovely experience..Version: 1.0.5

I loved itIt was a beautiful story..Version: 1.0.5
