It sounds like it’s just one person working on this and what it does is so useful. I use it to turn on my lamp mostly and it’s nice being able to ask Alexa instead of Siri on my apple device. I gave it 4 starts out of five because I believe it can be optimized a little. Also I think updating the app logo, flashing up the interface and a name change might help sell it a better. An Excellent App So FarI usually don't review an app right after installing it, but this app worked perfectly right after the install. It was very easy to install and it installed fast. I'm using an Iphone Xs Max in conjunction with the Series 4 watch. There were no glitches at all. It does just what I want it to. It turns on and off my lights and it adds to and shows my shopping list plus answers questions. My goal was to not carry my phone into the store for my Alexa shopping list. It works with wi fi and cellular. So far I am very happy with it. If I encounter any issues I will report them. I am always leaving my phone behind so this feature really adds to the function of the watch. I do like it so far. UPDATE: Used it the first time in the grocery store on my watch with the phone left in the car. I asked it to read my shopping list. It said you have 10 items on your shopping list and then showed me the list. How convenient! My watch does have cellular connection. My goal is to leave the phone behind as much as I can. I could not do that before this fantastic app because I needed the phone to read the list. I can't tell you how many times I have laid the phone down at the register only to get to the car and realized I left it behind. This app now allows me to leave the phone in the car while shopping. VIAC ReviewHand on heart I can honestly say that Voice In A Can (VIAC) is one of the most truly useful 3rd party apps that I have installed on my Apple Watch. It works great and setup is simple. I have a lot of Alexa enabled tech and having VIAC gives me added flexibility in how I control them. One of the great advantages of VIAC is that it is not dependent upon your iPhone being nearby, working entirely from the Apple Watch. Combining the app with a Siri shortcut and the ‘Raise to Speak’ capability adds even more power to the app. The author is very responsive to feedback and questions and should be praised for the amount of effort he has put into this offering. He has created a number of YT videos about the app and a website of FAQs. Even better!I thought her wrote a review about a year ago on this with a good level of satisfaction. Well this new version came out and is a vast improvement on performance and the one and only issue of in frequent log outs has been resolved. I use this quite often to open my garage door and need quick access so having these two improvements is awesome! AmazingTerrific little app does just what I wanted, which is to let me control my smart home devices without my phone in hand. I had it set up and working less than two minutes after I downloaded the app, thanks to the developer’s very clear FAQ and excellent, quick video on how to use the shortcuts app to get “Alexa” listening when I raise my wrist and say her name. I have not been able to use the Shortcuts app before with any success, but that little video helped me figure out how to make some other shortcuts work that I hadn’t been able to do. Awesome app One suggestion though.I thought that Alexa on your Apple Watch was not possible, that is until I found this awesome app. I have a suggestion though. I am blind and I use voiceover. On my Echo Dot I have it set up to play a sound when I say Alexa, and when The device stops listening to me. I can press the start button, but it takes a while to start listening, some kind of beep or indication that lets me know that the app starts listening would be nice. Works as advertised...The app was easy to install and set up. Once you get past a couple of issues the app works as described. I have it working on my Series 4. The app works independent of my phone on both Wi-Fi and cellular. The only issues I’ve discovered when launching the app for the first time on the watch it will occasionally hang in listening mode and you have to press the white square to get it to continue. Subsequent requests seem to work as normal. The second issue is minor but equally annoying the auto screen rotation. Excellent App - It works well!I have been using it for a week now and am very impressed. Great optionI’ve integrated Alexa for a range of functions at my home, and wanted an option to use my watch for control. This app delivers quite well. For me, four stars means the best option I’ve identified but desire improvements. Most notably this app has a slight delay while it starts and authenticates, it’s not a big problem but it’s noticeable. More noticeably it needs refinement in detecting when you are done issuing a command. Even the slightest wind noise can throw it off making it hard to use outside. Concerns Over AccessibilityAs a blind person, I thought this might be a helpful app. Unfortunately in addition to being extremely slow to respond, the app itself is totally inaccessible and does not work with VoiceOver. If using VoiceOver one needs to configure the app through the watch instead. Additionally, it would be nice if there were some type of audio feedback in order to give a clearer sense of what’s happening. Awesome AppIf you're like me, I have to write down everything or else it's gone. I use Alexa on a daily basis more for grocery lists, etc. It is much easier to say it rather than write it, in my opinion. This app makes it even easier when you don’t have your phone nearby. Works perfectly!Purchased a Hamilton Beach Alexa voice activated coffee maker through my travel rewards program (on a great sale, I’m not going travelling anywhere right now!) and originally had no way to control the voice function (I’m “all Apple”). Dues not work wellI have a recent apple watch. I was hoping this app would be like the reverb app for the iPhone. The reverb app is super simple to use and just works. The voice in a can app needs a lot of improvement. Everytime you start it there is a process it needs to go through before you can use it. First it needs to start. Then synchronize. Then authenticate. Then it often tells me that I seem to be offline when I am not. Then it just started listening with no interaction from me and then I have to tap it to get it to stop listening. By this time in the process I have been standing and starting at my watch for about 45 seconds to a full min. I could have used my phone to do what I want. When the app finally does receive a command, it is often not able to execute it. I hope this app improves since I paid for it..CmoonVersion: 1.0.8

To slow to be useful in the wildI had great hopes for this app when I heard about it. I have a large number of home automation devices and I use Alexa frequently to turn on light, change thermostat, control my entertainment system. But I found the app even on my own WiFi so incredibly slow that in the time it takes to get it to even start. I can grab my phone from my pocket, pop up the app, and click on what I want to do before my watch complication is even ready. The startup process for the app needs to be a lot faster to make it worthwhile. DisappointedI really wanted to love this app. If you have come to love Alexa as I have, avoid this app. I use both Siri and Alexa based on their compatibility with various hardware. The thought of using Alexa on my iPhone was very exciting. The first command I issued was to start playing music on my SONOS system. That command worked great. Once Alexa was playing music, no more commands would work (even If in another room where you cannot hear the music playing). Stopping the music on SONOS allowed commands to work again. Never works on the first launch.I have used this app for quite some time and I really tried to like it, but it never works on the first time and that’s the most annoying thing about it. Expect to see “thinking” a lot as well as it sometimes just hangs there forever. You can always eventually get it to work after repeating yourself a couple times, but man that’s annoying. I don’t know if I can blame the app or the phone or the watch or the fact that it has to authenticate itself every time, but this app doesn’t do what it needs to at all.
