Lots Of Terror For Buying Games (kids)There is LOTS of things that I hate about the app but a little about the quest 3. One thing, (that I really want you to know) WHY CANT YOUR CHILD HAVE DEVELOPER MODE FOR PLAYING GAMES?! LIKE WE MADE ONE! PLEASE, I WASTED 10$ ON A GAME THAT NEEDS YOU TO HAVE DEVELOPER MODE, I WANT YOU TO FIX THIS! And your honing to be like, “why can’t you just refund it?” NO I WANT YOU TO PUT SOMETHING ON THE TOP FOR ALL GAMES TO SAY DOESNT NEED DEVELOPER MODE AND DOES NEED DEVELOPER MODE. For the app, you can’t resend the permission if your a child, also if you wanted to resend a permission, you needed to block then unblock your child, and sometimes it brings your parent through like a loop x3 when trying to purchase something for the quest. And if you wanna start downloading it, you need to wait for your your parent to accept it and refresh the page and click “Add to VR” which is just dumb. Another thing is, don’t expect real people to email you on CHRISTMAS when YOU email them. Also, I’m okay with the battery life but please fix it to tho. With that, FIX SOME OF THESE THINGS. Updated review and Fix for pairing oculus questOkay, I finally got past the pairing issue I had where the oculus quest refused to pair. It turns out it was an issue where the iPhone required an iOS update and once I did that, it paired no problem. Developers should please add this to the help with setting up an oculus quest. After that, smooth sailing. App is great, quest works really well. While the battery life will last about 4 hours, it’s still good enough because you don’t want to be in it too long. All the apps and games are great. I hope more become available soon and that more become cross play as I have an oculus rift also and would enjoy some of those games on the quest as well. Beat saber is crazy good! Also, the oculus app has no lag or issues and you can find the games easy. I would like to see a complete browse all feature so you can scroll through every game available - not sure if I missed it. App is same on phone as it is within headset. Flawless integration. Great app for Quest ownersI e seen many 1 star reviews that make no sense. They are rating the app based on their experience with their headsets. If I were to review the Oculus Quest it would definitely get 4.5 stars. The app however gets a full five stars as it does so much cool stuff. My favorite thing is being able to check my battery while charging my headset. Also being able to see if I need new batteries for my controllers is awesome. I know those data points are on the Quest Menu Bar but when your charging you may not have the Quest available to check so you can use the app. I love that I can buy and install games directly to my headsets from the app too. There are just so many cool things this app allows you to do. I’ve seen lots of tech and I’m not easily impressed by tech nowadays however the Oculus Quest and this companion app have highly impressed me. I haven’t been wowed like this by tech since I first wrote a program in basic back on a TRS-80 (Trash 80 for those who remember them) in the mid 80’s(I’m old I know). Oculus is great, Social tab on app won’t workI love my Oculus, however the social tab on my app on my iPhone will never load so I cannot see friends or chat messages….even when it tells me there is a notification. There is the same error every time that says “Unable to load. Please try again later”. This has been going on for weeks, so I decided to contact oculus support. After 30 min of searching I realized that they have no phone support number, so I resorted to the chat feature. Clearly a chat feature doesn’t have as many capabilities as phone support so after another 30 minutes, I was told they have no clue what is wrong with my app and were sending it to be further investigated….and that I would hear back by email (not phone of course) in 3-5 days. I’m disappointed in the lack of support available for devices that cost $400 a piece and their associated app. App support needs to be available, as the techs seem to only know how to support the devise, not the associated software..Has too many photosVersion: 145.0

Best VR App everI love this app, the oculus quest 2 was released so recently and we got one on the 24th of October 2020, I love this app and what games have to offer, but I think it’s missing one game that I really want to play on VR, and that is Island 359, yeah sure it’s on the app but only on the Oculus Rift and Rift S, and that’s a Headset that you need a pc for. I very much wish Island 359 was available for purchase on Oculus Quest and Oculus Quest 2, other than that it was amazing, I remember downloading the app way before and found out you need a Facebook account to get into the app, then I uninstalled the app and when my sister got the headset, she had installed the app and I forgot about the matter. After some time, I decided to download the Oculus app once again and at that time I didn’t realize that I had installed the app before so it was reinstallable at the time. I love the app and funnily enough I also found out that one of the games known as “Rec Room” was on VR, PS4, PC, and Mobile, I laughed a lot at the time..Indoraptor30154Version: 77.2

Needs a bit more workA couple of updates ago the iPad UI got really big, you can only see 2-3 items without scrolling. That’s just way to big for 12,9” devices. The top banners are cut in half so you can’t see what they are. When doing a search on the iPad (on the 12.9 pro and prolly the 10.5” pro as well), nothing shows up. You have to tap the search field again, then a small part of the screen shows a cut off/squished box with the results. Would like to see ability to update apps/games (on Quest 2) from the app. Would like to see available Quest 2 storage in the app. Would like to be able to uninstall apps/games from the app. Some other things, but most of all the iPad UI needs an overhaul. Even simple things like swiping left/right between game images, instead of having to open and close each image (this part of the app have a tendency to bug out, forcing you to kill/restart the app). App is very buggy on iPhone 14 ProMy review is strictly for the app, not my experiences with my Quest 2 or my opinion about the Facebook corporation. Being able to cast from my headset to my phone is awesome and works most of the time. My problems lie with the other functionalities of the app. Why on the media gallery can’t I delete unwanted videos or photos? When I click on the media there is a garbage can icon but nothing happens when I press on it (bug?). Another issue, I’m on my 3rd headset (had problems with the other 2) but there’s no place in the app to remove those old devices in my Meta account so all 3 are always on the cast screen with no way to differentiate the active one. Also, while navigating through the apps screens, I often find that there aren’t any back button (more bugs?) so I’m constantly hard closing the app just to get back to the Home Screen. Pretty good but also sorta weird.It’s a good app and it’s cool how you’re able to cast things from the VR headset, but the app itself is just unconditionally laggy, and I’m not the only one with this problem because it’s not my phone. When I move to different locations, such as settings to home or whatever, it buffs and consistently pops up the “enable Bluetooth” screen over and over again each time I attempt to do something. Best VR app everYou see other reviews saying it's So bad it's not! I got a VR for Christmas and we have been using this app and it's GREAT! You can watch what your VR is doing when your on it. And you can buy games on the app. And you can buy games in packs for less money it's GREAT! Also one time I was playing a game on my VR and my dad said I had to get onto a different game so we could play together and I didn't get off so he went on the app and pressed the game we wanted to play together and pressed start streaming or something like that and my Vr can go to that game. This actually did not happen but that's something the app can do! This app is so good and helpful! And there's no problems with this app! I highly recommend this app if you have a VR! No push notifications?I got the app to see what it is and how it works. From what I've seen, it's very polished. Everything seems to be working. So why has the app not given me an alert to either allow or block push notifications? The notifications themselves inside the app work how they're supposed to, but I don't get notified outside of the app. Everything is checked to ON for the Mobile switch for each and every type of notifications in the appropriate settings in the app. I shouldn't have to be paranoid and check the app every few seconds to see what my friends are texting all because the app didn't initially tell me to allow notifications. The setting doesn't even exist in iPhone settings, it's not available. I reinstalled the app too, but came fruitless. I am completely softlocked from this simple bug. This NEEDS to be fixed. Love the Quest 2.. . But. ..As much as I love the Oculus Quest 2 there are a lot of glitches not only on the headset, but the app as well. I’ve been using my quest 2 for the past year and a half, some of the glitches that have raised concern are as follows; I haven’t been able to cast to my smartTV all year, which hinders gameplay when company is over. The most recent update has helped a little with the glitches but not by much. My ability to cast to my smart TV is a huge thing for me as I love entertaining and playing my Oculus with friends. Some of the other glitches arise in the different games that I play or even while chilling in the lobby in VR. The Meta Quest app is also very glitchy. Signing in issue and wanting help for itAfter having my vr for over a year now I’ve been experiencing some issue. My phone has this thing that is some what deletes apps for more space, the apps that I don’t use much. And Oculus was one of them. I only use it for pairing and stuff. After I deleted it and needed to reconnect my new controllers. I had to sign in. I would click continue with Facebook and then it would tell me to sign into it and I did my Facebook account it tells me that I have an existing Oculus account. Then it tells me to merge them together. To confirm the merge you would have to put your password. And I did but then it says that it’s already merged and have to log in with Facebook. If I do that it keeps repeating the same thing over and over the amount of times I try. Till this day I’m playing with broken controllers. Btw this happens on every platform I try to log in with. Legitimately the only thing that I wish you could do without going through a step by step progress on how to download like 5 things just to listen to music in the background while you are playing. Forgotten passwordsLook, I can tell oculus somewhat responds and fixes issues that are sent in reviews, and I thought that if oculus new this issue existed they would’ve considered it important well it seems they don’t, if you don’t know what I’m talking about it’s retrieving your forgotten passwords, I didn’t know you needed to have your real name for your Facebook and oculus account so I logged out of my oculus and Facebook and made a new one for each, HOWEVER I completely forgot what my oculus password for the app, I don’t even remember making one, I thought I made it the same one for all my accounts but it appears not, I went “well ok I’ll just reset it” WELL APPARENTLY IM NOT ALLOWED TO. Why do they need my exact age?So this app started out awesome! You can buy apps from it on to your oculus of course, and you can even cast your gameplay so friends can watch you, and even record! Although like a few weeks ago, I was sent a notification saying that I had to upload a picture of an id (or 2 non government ids) because I might not be the right age. I was able to upload mine, but there are some people who are too young for an id and don’t have access to 2 non government ids. And the app says if you don’t upload these in like 3 weeks your account will be deleted! DELETED! Pretty decent app, but just one minor thing.The app itself is actually pretty fine, PERSONALLY. (I am a very tech-efficient person so little problems on my side.) But, there’s one thing that bugs me so much that its worth mentioning: how the app handles setting up profile pictures. The problem is that instead of using the photo app, which can let you go through albums of photos (ex. Favorites or a custom album), the app uses its own photo book that lacks this feature. Additionally, I think not using the base photo app on the phone lowers the quality of the profile pictures to where lighting gets messed up and slightly more pixelated. (Or this part may be just due to the app itself.) Okay app but some big annoyancesThe app works fine with plenty of things but there a ton of little irritations. You have to scroll through like 20 tabs at the top of the store to get to wish list and it won’t let you sort those tabs which are mostly game genres. As others have pointed out, screencasting is a nice feature but it doesn’t work with Apple TV or some other devices (works with chromecasts), and there’s too much lag to have the sound on with the tv you’re casting to and your quest. It’s confusing and difficult to dismiss notifications. I want to get the notifications about new achievements but I don’t want to click on them one by one to dismiss them. Also, when I click on an achievement, it just takes me to the game and doesn’t tell me what I did to earn the achievement. Nice headset (Quest 2), buggy appThe app has an option to install downloaded game to headset. Which would be nice if it worked! But it takes multiple power button presses on the headset and trying to connect app to headset before app connects. Then once it says connected, if you can get it to stay connected, the you get the option to install. I click on the headset and install, then it does nothing. I have to put unplug headset, put on headset, walk to my guardian area, get out the hand controllers, scroll through menus and then install game. After all that, I look at the app and it says installing?? Why have the app, it doesn’t work correctly! So far after only having this for a couple days I’ve already encountered multiple bugs with the app and the headset software, with random glitches, freezing and power off’s. Great app but sorta app breaking glitch.I’ve never had problems with this app before a few weeks or so ago (first week of Jan. 2022) infact it’s a pretty useful and great app, but recently it’s just been all grey with any area of the app you pick not showing up, even settings. I had to delete the app entirely and reinstall it, I couldn’t get any help in the support page of oculus, and had to figure out a way to fix it myself. You shouldn’t have to delete and reinstall it to make an app work however, please fix this when you get the chance, I want more of my friends to get an oculus so i have more of them to play this with, but if the main app isn’t working that’s a major turn off to the product as a whole. For the customer, here’s what I have to say: It’s a great app, I have an Oculus Quest and it works wonderfully. Definitely worth it. Don’t be discouraged yetI was getting super scared because I saw that most of the reviews they said the app doesn’t even work anymore. But then I got my oculus and it all worked fine. So if you see any of those critical comments maybe read the good ones. The performance on the oculus quest 2 is awesome. It has really good lenses but, you have to make sure that the headset does not touch any sunlight or the lenses will get messed up. It also has a really good boundary feature. It is super accurate unlike other headsets. It really helps a lot that the headset is wireless unless you use the link cable. I also would recommend the bobo VR head strap if you wanted a good experience with it. Had trouble paring Meta Quest 2I have just recently gotten a brand new Meta Quest 2 for Christmas and I tried it out but i couldn't get it to connect. The first thing I tried was to restart my headset, then i tried deleting this app and nothing seemed to work. What I ended up needing to do was completely factory reset the headset and finally be able to connect. I wish it would have given me that option on the app when it couldn't connect. Once I got it connected and working, I couldn't find out how to screen cast it. When I would cast it directly to my TV it would say "Sent cast request" and nothing would pop up on my TV, then it would give me an error. When I tried to connect it to this app, it told me I wasn't connected to the internet when I was connected to the same internet on both devices and they were both working..AckinsoftVersion: 245.1

Best VR headset ever!I've played a few VR headsets in my life and none really had the wow factor. Tried this at a friend's and I'm blown away. The fact that it's a standalone headset made things even better! Graphics are awesome and crystal clear. I usually get a bit of motion sickness but with the OQ2, it barely affected me. Being a huge Star Wars nerd, it's a dream come true to be this close to Vader in Vader Immortal, plus I get to train like a real Jedi in the lightsaber dojo. The headset looks way much better than OQ1, very modern and clean. Having to link my Facebook account made things much more easier, since I linked all my app games to Facebook for easier upkeep. Oculus 2 great, but brokenThe Oculus Quest 2 was great at the start. But then later on, it was very glitchy. When it turned on, there’s 2 options. Room-scale boundary or Stationary boundary. Which ever one you click on, it doesn’t matter. The screen will just go completely black after and then those 3 dots will show up for about 15 seconds. Then it goes straight back to the 2 options. No matter which one you chose, it’ll just go black and then straight back to those 2 options. And on rare occasions it does work after you chose an option, but then you can’t even do anything. App is pretty decentI think the app is well thought out, definitely makes it easier navigating around the Oculus. One issue that I am having is that I will sync videos from my oculus to my phone (which by the way I have to do atleast 15 times before it actually goes through) and when it does go through, a symbol of a wifi bar and exclamation mark in the middle show up. I can view the information of the video just not the video. Meta Quest Negative Reviews

So many bugsCasting is clunky. Screenshots and videos for games won’t display in landscape view, even though they’re oriented in landscape view. Will get trapped in full screen mode with no way to back out so I just have to close the app entirely (there is an “X” icon but tapping it does nothing). Games purchased by one user not available to the other user. My wife bought the oculus for me (yes I call it oculus because meta is a stupid name) and she bought several games with her profile before giving me the machine. Then I made a profile and bought games, and now we need to switch back and forth between profiles to access the different games bought by each profile. So dumb. Connecting with friends in the oculus is way more clunky than it should be. We always have problems. For example, we’ll both send invites to each other and they don’t come through for either party. Sometimes we’ll join a party and the audio isn’t working, so we have to power off and try connecting again. I never have these problems on my Xbox/PC/PlayStation. The oculus is super fun and has a ton of potential! It has so many bugs though. I’ve had to factory reset my device twice because of bugs that don’t go away. The most recent time was because the grid (the boundary of the oculus environment) would not go away. Nothing except a factory reset fixed the problem. There have been many other bugs, those are just the ones I can think of off the top of my head..John HeislerVersion: 226.1

The best reasons to use this are all broken.The app is presented to the user in a useful and intuitive way, but lacks execution. Exhibit A; the recently added Mixed Reality Camera (a feature which made me immediately re-download the app). For those who don’t know, this gives the user the capability to record yourself in your surroundings in VR, with augmented-reality capable phones (iPhone 7 Plus and up)*. Love VR, hate this appThis has got to be one of the most excruciatingly frustrating apps I have ever worked with. The casting is extremely laggy, even on my brand new iPhone 12. The most infuriating appAnytime I attempt to try to sync up to my quest with the app it almost always fails, there's so many settings that have been removed with radio silence as to why. Needs UpdatingWhile the app works, it’s not without issues. I’m using an iPhone 12 Pro Max and the app is poorly designed from a UX standpoint. The margins are too thin on the top and bottom and it seems like the developers just ignored Apple’s “safe area” suggestions. It’s difficult to tap on the search icon because it overlaps the network/battery icon in the upper right corner (same for the back button when it appears on the upper left). Once you do get the search bar opened, it’s under the notch and takes several taps in random spots to open the keyboard. The icons at the bottom of the screen are also under the home indicator. Great content but terrible verification system.When I first got the meta guest it was great, all the features were really advanced and everything was honestly really cool. About 1 month after I got it I got a message saying my account was suspended due to my age. The thing I don’t understand is why meta suspended my account because I was under thirteen. Unuser friendlyIt’s really frustrating to get this app for what you wanted but can’t use. The store never displays their recommended app sections. You have to search everything by name so you can’t browse, when trying to load the next page of games it just doesn’t load. There’s achievements you can get from games but there’s no way to go into the app and look into how you got them. When you press the award it takes you to the game store page. You can compare trophies with friends and see them that way but like why the hassle? Trying to record gameplay that saves into the gallery also doesn’t load in the app. The footage is unusable then. Troubles pairing oculus questWhen I got my oculus quest for Christmas, I was told to download the app to set it up. I set it up and played it for a while. A few months down the road, I was always asked to enable Bluetooth on my phone to connect to my oculus. Even though it was on, my oculus was never able to connect, but I was able to use the oculus and somehow be able to download content onto the oculus, but I could never stream any of my gameplay onto my phone. I’ve asked him he support team many times for help and they never gave any advice other than turn on and off your Bluetooth your phone. FrustratingI have had an oculus (or meta now) quest 2 for a while, since last Christmas. When I got it I immediately did the set up and it worked fine. Became dramatically worse once Facebook got involvedThe overall Oculus Quest experience was fairly positive when I got my headset. Each part of their complex ecosystem worked fairly well together, and I had little to no complaints about bugs or UX issues. That is, until Meta got involved.
