WHAT IS HALLOW
Hallow is a Christian prayer app that offers audio-guided meditation sessions to help us grow in our faith & spiritual lives and find peace in God. Explore over 10,000 different sessions on contemplative prayer, meditation, Catholic Bible readings, music, and more.

In today’s world, we’re stressed, anxious, distracted, & can’t sleep. At the same time, we’re searching for deeper meaning, purpose, & relationships. We believe these two challenges can be addressed with the same solution: peace in Jesus. In the end, after all, a halo in heaven is the goal :)

WHAT YOU GET
* Daily prayers: Pray daily across methods including 3 of our most popular - Lectio Divina (on the Daily Readings), the Rosary, & the Divine Mercy Chaplet

* Sleep Bible Stories: Try Night Prayer from Liturgy of the Hours / Daily Office, and Catholic Bible stories read by folks like Jonathan Roumie from the Chosen or Fr. Mike Schmitz from the New American Bible
* Rosary: Meditate with Mary through the mysteries of the Catholic Rosary and other devotionals
* Ignatian Examen: Reflect on your day & discover an awareness of God, Jesus Christ, & the Holy Spirit
* Lectio Divina: Enter into a conversation with God through Bible passages / Scripture
* Taizé & Traditional Chant: Meditative chant & music
* Community: Match your prayers to the season with the Pray40 Lent Challenge, starting Ash Wednesday, or our Pray25 Advent Challenge for Christmas
* Homilies & Guests: From Father Mike Schmitz, and on topics on being a Catholic Dad, St. Augustine & more!
* Praylists: Sessions on joy, humility, discernment, or stress / anxiety / calm
* Challenges: Re-discover the Our Father, Stations of the Cross, Psalms, and Saints - or start with the Intro 9 Day Novena
* Litanies & Novenas: Try out the Litany of Humility, the 54 Day Novena, and more!
* Pray like a Champion today: Athlete Prayers

Hallow: Prayer & Meditation Positive Reviews

Hesitate no moreCradle Catholic of 58 years. I saw and heard about this app and have always blown it off. Why do I need an app, been praying my whole life? This is different and I’m so glad I decided to spend the money for this. It’s so well done. There is so much to choose from. For me, I started with the beginning of Lent and joined the Pray 40 challenge. I figured I can use the extra prayers, why not? The very first episode had me in tears about humility. In one daily reading, I completely changed my way of approaching prayer. No longer has it been a praying for something good for me or like that. It’s become a daily reflection on my life and how to listen to what God is saying to each of us. Amongst so many other things. I encourage anyone who has been hesitating as I was to take the plunge especially during Lent and start your own daily routine. I encourage you to listen to the first episode on humility from the Pray40 challenge. It will really speak to you. I also love this app for the amazing Hollywood actors who are part of the daily readings (I mean in this day and age, who would have thought? They’re fantastic!), and also the other regular guest speakers who are in the daily prayers. Their lived experiences truly add to the effect of this app..Version: 8.2.14

Exactly what I was looking forMy prayers were answered when I found this app. I wanted an app similar to Calm, but better in the sense that I could meditate and pray to God with it. This is that app. It’s a wonderful app, it’s got all kinds of prayers and stories for those who wish to meditate, it’s got daily rosaries, it’s got novenas, devotions, you name it, but it also has sleep stories and music. Like I said, it’s everything I ever wanted from Calm but won’t get from Calm because it’s a secular app. It’s pretty easy to use as well, and the price ain’t bad. Whoever developed this, they did a great job and deserve the $55 a year they’re asking. The rosary in all the different languages is phenomenal and is particularly my favorite. I don’t remember how I found it, but it’s magical. Hebrew, Latin, Spanish, English, French, all in one. So beautiful! The only thing I wish they’d improve: while playing music or regular stories on this app, I’d like to be able to keep browsing through the app. It’d be nice to get some more contemporary music too, not that I mind the classical selection, but it’s a mood, and sometimes I feel like listening to something more modern. And lastly, if they could come up with sleep music, that would be fantastic!.Version: 5.5.7

An ode to Jesus.Remember when I hated my life And I said I didn't want to die, but I did Now I know the reason why I'm still alive It's because of the sky Can you guess it right now? Are you wondering how? I found love so fast And I know this love will last How do I know? How do I know? He was with me from the start He was always in my heart Though I stray far, here you are Jesus, my superstar I love you, Jesus I love you, Jesus You give me reason You give me hope Jesus never let me go You can act bad, or you can be good You can be from privilege, or straight from the hood But Jesus loves you, this we know Never leave your side and he'll lead you home He was with me from the start He was always in my heart Though I stray far, here you are Jesus, my superstar I love you, Jesus I love you, Jesus You give me reason You give me hope Jesus never let me go There was a time I overdosed And I was lifted, not by the ambulance But by the Holy Ghost He was with me from the start He was always in my heart Though I stray far, here you are Jesus, my superstar I love you, Jesus I love you, Jesus You give me reason You give me hope Jesus never let me go I love you, Jesus I love you, Jesus You give me reason You give me hope Jesus never let me go ❤️.Version: 9.10.1

Must Have App for ContemplativesI am so thrilled with this app. The content is incredible. I love that the content regularly changes to reflect the liturgical seasons, as well as daily for such features as the gospel reflections & rosary. There are so many features to use from themed practices to specific types of prayer to seasonal and current event relevant prayers. I love the in depth challenge features of the Our Father and Stations of the Cross, the daily Examen, the Sleep prayer options, the liturgy of the hours . . . and I love that you can set and track goals, streaks, and journal thoughts from a session. The Guest section includes so many incredible resources from experts . . . this app is just packed with the best Catholic contemplative prayer content and it is very well engineered . . . super user friendly. Finally, it's great to have two different voice options as well as the option to choose ambient music, silence or gregorian chant to accompany your prayer/meditation sessions. I highly recommend this app. It has definitely revolutionized my prayer life because now when I wake up in the morning, I have an auto reminder to sit in prayer when I pick up my phone rather than scroll through other fluff and news. Bravo!.Version: 4.4

Mommy Finally Gets Quiet Time! Before Hallow, my spiritual life was unorganized and reactive. I'd attempt to have quiet time with the Lord, but would be interrupted by my children or my own thoughts. 30 minutes would go by and I'd feel so defeated that I couldn't even make it through one prayer without becoming distracted. My husband gifted me a subscription 2 years ago and it's now a recurring Christmas gift from him (I can't imagine anything better). Now, my thoughts and prayers are cohesive because the guidance from the app keeps me on track. I've learned so many new prayers that I never knew before, and I can "whip them out" in the middle of whatever chaos might be going on in our day. If my toddler comes in the room during my quiet time, he doesn't have to leave. He understands quiet time now and loves to listen and pray with me. He even requests Hallow in the mornings now! The "Kids" feature has been such a blessing. If you're a busy mom or a busy anybody, Hallow is an amazing app you won't regret. I've recommended it to everyone I meet who mentions a struggle with their prayer life. It has truly helped change my life for the better. Thank you, Hallow!.Version: 7.0.0

Nice App!My husband and I had both been looking for something to help our evenings wind down better with God. The daily readings are amazing. This app has a lot to it (reflection space, mood tracker, prayers for moods, daily gospel, rosary based on daily mysteries, bed time gospel stories, a kids zone that does stories and prayer how to based on age, music center, chants, prayer session challenges and more.) I started to use it to help me get my rosary in the mornings like I have been wanting to do. You can set routines into your phone to help carve time out of your day for God as well. My only recommendation to the developers is to add the transcript in on the sessions. This would be helpful for 3 reasons. 1) New Catholic’s learning prayers and how things work no matter the age 2) To help when the mind is overly active to give something else to focus and help ease into the meditative process 3) Meditation can be great for relaxing or stimulating to wake up. With how things are currently set up, there is a lot of focus of relaxing versus stimulating to the day. Words on the screen can help be part of that stimulation. Keep up the great app! Can’t wait to see what all you add!.Version: 6.1.2

Wonderful app! With one complaint/suggestionThis app has transformed my prayer life! I was hesitant to pay the $$ at first, but after giving it a try through a free trial, I have found it well worth it! There are so many different prayer and meditation options for many circumstances. At times I find it overwhelming with the many options, but I love that there are so many and that they are continually being uploaded and updated. My only minor complaint and suggestion is a technical one. When browsing through the many lists, if you hit “back” it will take you all the way back to the home screen instead of the previous page you were on. This can be frustrating as the many lists are like navigating a labyrinth at times, and if I was simply trying to browse the various novenas, for example, I have to go all the way back to the beginning each time I hit “back” and navigate the labyrinth again. This seems like it would be a simple technical fix from the developers of the app and would make it much easier for the users..Version: 6.2.12

Beautifully Crafted and AmazingAmazing app. I’ve used it daily and it has helped me so much to grow in my life of prayer. Even if you don’t purchase a subscription, the app is completely functional, no ads and no distractions, simply a few prayers your are unable to access (e.g. they have several rosaries you can pray, such as a daily rosary, a rosary before bed, a scriptural rosary, a workout rosary, etc. but you are only able to pray the daily rosary and a few other variations) I truly believe there is something on here that will resonate with anyone whether it be overcoming grief, anxiety, or simply connecting with Our Lord. Another thing that intrigued me is, you are able to select which narrator reads the prayers to you, and one of the options is Jonathan Roumie, who plays Jesus in the chosen- this really makes you feel close to God, at least for me. You can even change at what speed each narrator reads, in case your in a hurry, or have some extra time. Honestly, I suggest everyone here should give it a try. What’s the worst that could happen? You pray? :).Version: 8.3.2

Best decision of an app purchase!I really struggle with prayer and anxiety at night. I was looking for something to help as I fell asleep or while laying in bed to calm my heart and mind. But I wanted something that was 1- Catholic! And 2- orthodox! I was honestly skeptical when I randomly saw a Facebook add for Hallow. Most “catholic” prayer aides I’ve come across saying things like “meditation” have a very skewed idea of meditation and it tends to quickly digress into things like “finding your third eye” 🤢 what I LOVE about the creators of Hallow is that they desire to reclaim meditation as a unique Christian form of prayer. It has always belonged to the Church and we are responsible for continuing this life giving practice! This is my 4th day using the app and it has already been a game changer! I’m excited to get to bed now, so I can have those last few moments of my day in prayer! The guided meditation is not cheesy and has so many options! I feel more peace then I have for awhile and I find that I’m more aware during my day of the Lord, communicating with Him as my day goes on. I love this app and have been telling everyone about it!.Version: 4.4.1

This app has changed my lifeI can’t recall when I downloaded this app. But since I started regularly utilizing it, it has literally changed my life. My prayer life, which was embarrassingly non-existent, is now a daily conversation with God in which I look forward to. It has reframed how I look at prayer totally. It’s honestly reframed my life. I make a daily effort to walk with the Lord. I have since returned to going to Mass weekly and now visit the Blessed Sacrament in Adoration. I say the rosary frequently and am learning The Divine Mercy Chaplet. Oh, and every time Jonathan Roumie, the actor who plays Jesus in The Chosen, says at the end of a prayer session, “thank you for praying with me, I look forward to praying with you again soon,” I just want to keep going. That single sentence has literally kept me alive during dark periods of wanting to give up. Now I just pray and keep doing the hard life stuff because life is now worth living. I thank God for that and the maker of this great app. Fantastic product . Will continue to use it forever..Version: 9.4.0

This app can change your life- and not just for Catholics!I stumbled upon the Christian tradition of contemplative prayer about a year ago and promptly began practicing it on my own. I was pretty good about doing it most every day, but some days were certainly more focused than others. Someone told me about Hallow and I immediately fell in love. I cannot rave enough about this app! I have told all my friends about it (most of whom are not Catholic). Now I can do multiple meditations a day and sometimes I will turn on the angelus or rosary while I am cooking or cleaning for an extra spiritual boost. I have been using the free version for a few months and there is so much great content that I feel like I’m stealing from them! 😬 I will definitely buy the premium version eventually, because this app has already helped me so hugely in deepening my relationship with Christ. Now I feel totally “off” and not nearly as kind or happy when I skip my morning prayer session. I cannot recommend this highly enough- if you commit to it and keep the habits going, it WILL change your life!.Version: 4.5

Learning to actualize Holy Grace given me by GodMy spirit wandered aimlessly in the deserts of this world; but like a seed planted in desert sand, the water of God’s Prevenient Holy Grace germinated my spirit at age twenty-three. I then began reading Holy Scriptures, and The Holy Ghost allowed me to resume my Christian Odyssey in a quest to find the TRUTH , viz., Jesus. Selfishness I had fallen away from Mother Church at age thirteen. Much earlier (age seven) I had learned of The Divine Presence of Jesus in the Holy Eucharist. That knowledge embedded an indelible scruple in my soul about receiving the Blessed Sacrament irreverently. The prayers of my beloved matrilineal Grandmother were graciously answered - in God’s Time. The Holy Ghost allowed me free will to wander in my Protestant spiritual ways until at age sixty-four, until bat last I confessed my sins to a Catholic Priest: I confessed, “Bless me Father, I have sinned. It has been fifty-one years since my last confession . . . . ” . I had no prior devotions to Our Blessed Mother Mary as a Protestant. In his Divine Mercy Jesus has led me to His Mother Who now leads me to her Divine Son Jesus, my Lord and my God !.Version: 7.3.0

Finally! Free Bible Text In AppI’ve used Hallow for some time and have really found the features useful (especially Father Mike), even though I am not a subscriber. One thing that held me back from using the Hallow app extensively was the lack of a Bible text in app to follow along with the daily readings and the Bible in a Year without having to open a second app. However, in the most recent update you added the Bible, and the best part:it’s FREE! It is very convenient to have a searchable Bible in app, complete with the daily readings when I open the Bible portion of the app. One improvement I would like to see is the addition of some older Catholic translations like the RSV-CE (so I can follow along with the Bible in a Year because this is the translation Fr. Mike uses) and the Douay-Rheims. These translations have a poetic quality that I, personally, find unmatched by newer ones. I understand that permission to use copyrighted translations requires money, but the Douay-Rheims is public domain, so it should not require any cost for copyright permissions. Thank you for this app, and keep up the good work! God bless!.Version: 9.0.1

More Audio Books Please! And Play All Option.I'll start by saying what a wonderful amazing app this is and I will continue to recommend it to everyone. One of my favorite features this app offers are the audio books. I think it is important to have the word of God playing even as you rest. I wish that there was a PLAY ALL option for ALL of the audio books because only some of them have this feature. I really hope this gets added soon since you can only listen to one chapter at a time and they are only 3-5 minutes long. I also pray they add more audio books so that I don't have to find different sites that have certain books available. It would be very nice to have all the audio books available in one place especially since this app isn't free. I'm on my second year subscription and would just like to see these things addressed. Other than that there are plenty of other things to be explored and enjoyed..Version: 9.10.0

The beautiful truth and rejoicingNot only are the songs, so very inspirational the music, the singing such in the first book of the New Testament, Matthew says, with worship, both in truth and spirit at one of the other, but both very beautiful and inspirational. I’m Christian I certainly believe in rejoicing in my worship no that doesn’t mean I have to be a great singer, but I sure enjoyed great singing, and music and rejoicing in the Lord, in that way, so I can rejoice in the Lord without ever making a sound. I believe it says in Psalm 100 we are to rejoice in the Lord. Now, in the first book of the New Testament, Matthew says we are to rejoice in the lord, but we are to worship God, in both truth and spirit. Not one or the other but both. This inspirational music helps us to worship in that way. Amazingly beautiful rejoicing but when you hear the words you say the truth, and what is the truth, Jesus is the truth the way and the Life. No man shall go to God, but that he goes through Jesus. Remember he’s the way..Version: 8.1.0

Needs workThis app is wonderful in terms of content, however, in terms of VoiceOver usability, it needs a good deal of work. It looks as though it should be accessible, however it is often extremely difficult to navigate with voiceover. Much of the home screen is virtually impossible to manage because voiceover gets hung up on the screen and totally freezes. Often there is no way to back out of a screen other than closing the app and starting over. many buttons are either not clearly labeled or labeled at all. instructions on the help screen refer to icons which voiceover users cannot see. There are no voiceover Hints, which would be extremely helpful given the complexity of this app. It is complex enough, in fact, that I would almost like to see a tutorial specifically for voiceover users. At this point, I am not advising other blind users I know to use this app until some changes have been made.I have been using Hallow for about a year now and I'm still learning things about it purely by trial and error. Somehow, this just doesn't seem right!.Version: 8.1.3

Very responsive to my problem: Cannot get app to open any more!Within just a few days Hallow contacted me with help for my problem getting into the App. I downloaded the update and all is well again. Thanks, Hallow. It’s a magnificent app. I do listen to it all day again! Bible in a Year—3rd year in a row, and now Catechism in. Year! Love the prayer challenges and the Scriptural Rosay is so moving—and for me, at least, the best way to meditate on each mystery. I would listen to it all day every day—which I did until around January 1,2023. Now it won’t go any further than the purple screen of the opening page. For a few days, it would open automatically when I I put in my ear buds, and I’d have to pray whatever it offered—I’d be listening to sleep prayers in the morning. But now, even when it prompts me from my routine schedule, when I tap the prompt it just takes me to the purple screen and sits there. For hours, even all day. Very sad to lose it..Version: 8.2.0

Okay, but needs basicsBetter to something than nothing, so I am happy that this exists. But it needs major improvements. Rosary routines are not as given to the world by Mary. Instead, this offers a the new version, with JP-II’s additions. Would be easy to add the original version. Psalms uses a truly bad translation. Deep meanings in the mental poetry are completely removed. Offer alternate translations that adhere closely to the Hebrew text, like the Douay-Rheims, or the Grail Psalter. It’s no surprise that Bishop Barron is featured in this. Though he very often strikes out when a specific soul is on the line & the theological bases are loaded in the bottom of the 9th inning. Not withstanding any critiques of his statements on the eternal logos being just “the privileged way” & “we have a reasonable hope that all men are saved” , he manages to be in the spotlight constantly, and seems to showcase his own intellect more than the Trinity’s mercy/justice, love for us, & mastery of all. I’d rather his presence here be counter balanced with the simple faith and bold proclamation of other prelates who do not show so many sign an egocentric predilection..Version: 6.2.2

Plenty of FREE and paid optionsFor those who complained that the app isn't free, there are tons of FREE options on here! And if you are upset because "prayer shouldn't cost money," have you ever stepped into a shop that sells Catholic goods? Candles, rosaries, prayer cards, books? Are those things free? No, someone spent time designing and creating them. You aren't forced to buy them. You can pray the rosary with your God-given ten fingers, after all. You can pray without ever picking up a prayer book. But if you CHOOSE to buy those resources because you enjoy them and they enrich your prayer life, ythat's your choice. This app is AMAZING and life-changing and it keeps getting better. For me, it's worth the subscription cost. I know some people cannot afford the cost and I understand that can be frustrating. But use the free resources. And don't knock the app because it costs money. The time and development that goes into an app like this costs money. It doesn't make it bad..Version: 5.5.4

Atheist to Hippie to ChristianMy journey has been a long one. Born into the catholic faith before rejecting it and all religion as pre-industrial nonsense, to Jordan Peterson teaching of metaphysics and meaning, to using psychedelics and pursuing all religions for their meaning and developing my own new age belief, to 15+ years later finally being a Christian again. I’ve started using Hallow after many synchronicities in life have pushed me towards Christ, including The Chosen by Angel Studios, which made me want to be closer to Jesus. The actor portraying Him showed up in an advertisement for Hallow and I thought “what the heck, why not?” If you struggle with faith, I promise there is something to be gained from the practices. As Mary said to the wedding servants at Cana, “do whatever he tells you.” We are called to follow and obey before belief. That is the act of faith. He reaches out to each of us in whatever way He deems best. I ask you, app or not, to visit the Bible with an open mind, but more importantly, an open heart..Version: 8.2.16

Worth buying!I’ve never been one to sit still and I have a busy mind. Suffice to say that meditation doesn’t come naturally. Yet I was dealing with some generalized anxiety post surgery and wanted to try some meditation. I also knew that for my comfort level, I preferred it to be Catholic meditation. I really believe God led me to this site. It’s worth the yearly subscription. What I didn’t expect was the inner healing and insights I received- and which I could then journal and record right on the app. God’s love and presence just seemed to explode as I sat in the guided silences and meditated on the scriptures provided. I’m so grateful! My favorite is the daily scripture meditation. Brings me closer to daily Mass while I still recuperate. I like the ten minute option but you could do 5 or 15 instead. I’d really recommend this too for those homebound but interested in growing spiritually. It can be a home made retreat if you let it! If you want Catholic it’s here. But it clearly is “catholic” in the sense that it’s for all of us..Version: 4.2.3

20 years young & learningI honestly don’t know how I found this app. I was raised Catholic and attended weekly mass. But once I got to college I decided to put Christianity on the back burner and do life my way. So I did & it got to be pretty self-destructive and wasn’t bringing about goals or calming my worries I was missing God in my plan. COVID-19 happened and that sent me back into my child home & emotionally was rough being in quarantine & feeling this overwhelming amount of shame & guilt & this yearning to get closer to God. I love mediation & was using headspace often. But I remember reading this article saying how vision boards and affirmations were the law of attraction & how mediation can even be focused to much on yourself. I realized I call myself Catholic but I wasn’t at all I wasn’t living a Christian filled life. I wanted to find truth and grow back in my faith & this app is beautifully designed & so well thought out that it’s slowly helping me back to my Catholic faith. Thank you 💜.Version: 5.2.2

Absolutely love it! But…I use Hallow daily (many times a day). And I have for several years now. Ot has helped me to make prayer a part of my daily routines, has drawn me deeper into my faith, and assisted me in reading - and understanding! - the entire Bible for the first time in my life. To say it has been transformational is not an overstatement. However… I do wish that there were a way for me to share episodes (in particular of Jeff Cavins Daily Reflections) with my friends and family without them having to install the app or subscribe. Many times I encounter something I feel that they just really need to hear - or Jeff compels me to share a message with them, like today! - and there’s no easy way for me to get them to listen to it. Women from my church group who I’ve emailed links to have later told me that they “don’t know how to use the app” or they “don’t want to subscribe” or they “don’t have a smart phone”… My wayward children who I’ve begged to take a listen have told me they’re “not gonna install an app just to listen.” I understand the value of the content and appreciate the quality and I know that it’s worth every penny I pay. But from an evangelization standpoint, I wish there was a way to “spread the Good News” (I’m trying here, Jeff!) without always bumping up against these objections (road blocks.) Keep up the great work, Hallow! You are changing the world!.Version: 9.9.0

Forgiveness and AcceptanceThis prayer of learning how much strength your mind body and soul can gain from recognizing how powerlessness is not a weakness but a strength that allows you to see the world itself that all of us must learn adapt then survive in order for us to thrive we have to stop believing no one cares about us on mental level thinking no should trust us or believe me in us, on a physical level with comes to having pure true love and compassion toward one another,Keeping each motivated when we seek to build muscle and Improve our natural strength. As well on a spiritual level to look towards the stars and cosmos and be able to know our defining personality traits by searching for answers based on our birth based on our zodiac sign our life experience to observe the universe in a different light that could allow us to follow the commandments of one that’s greater than thyself.🙏🏽♋️🦀🤜🏻🤛🏻👍🏻🕊️❤️.Version: 9.11.2

Prayer goal badges not workingEditing since someone was kind enough to reach out to me, hopefully the problem will be resolved soon. I do enjoy this app. The prayer goal badges stopped tracking. It will say I’m on day 25 of 40 for the in the desert badge but my activity calendar says over 43 now. The hello and welcome badge says 0/9 but I’ve completed 6 all with green check mark beside them. I’ve tried to ask for help one time person did reply but simply asked me to check if my app was updated which I did before contacting help but I made double sure and then I sent screen shots of what was happening and more emails but it’s been weeks and no return response. This may seem trivial to some but if I’m paying this much for an app it should work. I’ve troubleshot all I could logged in and out even deleted the app and redownloaded and as I said the app and the phone software is up to date. It would be nice if someone would help or at least say they can’t..Version: 8.2.15

So good!!I don’t normally take the time to review apps but this one is so good that I had to. There are so many prayers to choose from and so many ways to customize the prayers for your schedule and preferences. This app has gotten me to pray every day when nothing else has! It is worth the $5 a month. After all, it is constantly being updated with new daily prayers and gospel readings. You can tell that a lot of time, talent, and resources have gone into this app and for goodness sake, the people who did all of this need to make a living somehow. An app is no different than a book, music, or whatever - the person who created it should get some reimbursement for their work. Please don’t expect high quality apps like this one to be free any more than you would expect people to give away their books or other works. If you’re not sure, do the trial and see for yourself. I don’t think you will be disappointed..Version: 4.2.3

Highly recommended!I love this app and have been using it now for years and think it’s worth every $ it charges and more. I rarely review apps but think this app is fantastic and so deserving of a good review.. The app fulfills all my requirements for meditation, prayer petitions, or even just listening and reflecting on your day/bible stories/scripture. It has a wide variety of great content so you never get bored and more importantly, so you can always the right content to suit your present situation in life. I can’t recommend it enough to anyone/everyone!! It has gotten me to pray more regularly where nothing else has. my 2 cents for developers: it would be great to one day see this as an Alexa enabled skill so users could build a routine around it in the era of the “smart home”. Also would be good to be able to reset challenges so we can re-do them at our own time..Version: 5.8.4

Thanks from this Protestant!Last January, after having gone through the final illness and death of my father, I determined to be more faithful in my devotional life. After looking around the ‘net and the App Store, I decided to try the Hallow preview and a couple of others. I’m Protestant, so I was hesitant about the Hallow app being Catholic. Well, before the preview was up, I had subscribed to Hallow. This app has helped me keep my promise to be more faithful in daily reading and prayer. I have particularly enjoyed the Daily Mass Readings and Daily Reflections. Plus, through the Daily Saints feature, I’ve learned so much about amazing Christians from the past. (I’ve even learned to love the Rosary.) I also loved the Advent prayers. Not only has the app helped me be more faithful, I also feel so much more connected to the (little c-catholic; i.e. universal) Church. The app has been well worth the subscription..Version: 6.1.2

Great App, could use just one change to make it perfect…So I am liking the app a ton so far, but there is just one thing that I wish could be added. I like to listen to the praylists while I work. Work is a form of prayer and listening to them helps me to keep in a more prayerful mindset as I do so and better eliminate distractions. However, the praylists only play to the end and then stop which can end up being either quite distracting or inconvenient depending on what I’m working on at the time. And the fact that they only ever play in the same order can cause them to become monotonous and less meditative over time because my brain already knows the whole playlist so it starts to tune it out. An option to repeat and shuffle the praylists would be super helpful! It’s just the one thing missing that would make this app perfect. TL;DR: Please add repeat song, repeat all, and shuffle options to praylists!.Version: 9.6.1

Great app! Only one problem...I love this app. I only use the free version since I’m not able to pay for the subscription and there is still so much content available! It’s simple and helpful (especially to an easily distracted mind like mine). The only problem I’ve come across is on setting reminders. It requires that you choose a habit to attach your reminder to...although this is a great idea the only options are not applicable to me. I like to is the app as soon as I put my little one down for a nap so it bothers me that I have to just choose a random habit in order to set a reminder for me to pray. I would suggest being able to type in your own habit or just remove the requirement. All in all, this app still deserves 5 stars. I think that the creators are doing wonderful things and I greatly appreciate all the work they’ve put into it!.Version: 4.7.1

A tremendous help for a new CatholicI didn’t grow up in a religious household and only within the last few years have been developing my faith and finished RCIA two years ago. Praying is still relatively new and something that I am growing in, this app has really helped that with all the different options from stations of the cross, rosary, divine mercy, etc. I have also thoroughly enjoyed and learned so much through the Bible in a year which is based off of the great adventure Catholic Bible and features a lot of information to help understand and get more from the readings. It is also very cool that Jonathan Roumie from “The Chosen and Jim Caviezel from “Passion of the Christ” is available as readers or are featured in some of the talks.I strongly recommend this for any Christian not just Catholics. I promise that absolutely everyone will get something out of Hallow. Thank you for this great resource!.Version: 6.2.6

Hallow is The Best App Ever; Especially, for Catholicism.I absolutely love this app. It is so incredibly on point to keep yourself intact with God-The Holy Trinity!! It keeps me grounded, has a much stronger connection within my strict Roman Catholic Faith, and with given all the extra perks of morals and virtues that you can within this application, HALLOW. I am so blessed beyond measure to be born into a family with the strict, solid morals, devotion to Mary, Our Blessed Mother, the rosary, scriptures at home, and to learn to use, trust, and use your inner faith to do great things here on earth. My Daddy would say The Rosary,!Trust and Loyalty in your Roman Catholic Faith, your heart and deep innermost thoughts and being faithful and al to The Scriptures, The Holy Trinity, Mary, and The teachings, following scriptures. By showing your utmost loyalty and the rule of law, Catholicism is The Truest Way To Get To Heaven!! I attached K-12 grade at a private Catholic School. I am so unbelievably fortunate. I can’t think of my parent enough. My Daddy has passed, and My Momma just passed just this year on February 25, 2021. HALLOW also helps me remember my childhood and teenage years of dedication, devotion, and loyalty to Catholicism. Thank you so much for creating this Extraordinary App for all Christians. Still, most of all, it’s designed especially for Roman Catholics and all rules, values, virtues, and BELIEFS of Catholicism..Version: 5.5.7

Amazing Community!I have subscribed to the “Magnificat” magazine for AM & PM prayer meditations for a few years. I was uncertain as to what added value the Hallow app subscription would be to my routine. The free trial convinced me to support this outstanding tool. The guided meditations are an alternative, Catholic-centered approach with an “eastern” feel, so familiar to any who have dabbled with Yoga “practices”. It’s a bridge between East & West that feels like a comfortable shoe (or mattress)! I particularly appreciate being able to choose from a variety of venues as I wind down to sleep. Sometimes, its a scripture reading. Sometimes the life of a saint. Or a review of conscience. The Hallow app helps me feel, in a concrete way, part of the larger community of faithful beyond the boundaries of my local parish! I am truly more aware of the “cloud of witnesses” that surround me…living and deceased…and that gives me hope. TY4 developing Hallow..Version: 5.5.7

My way back to GodI had always been very close to God throughout my life. God had always walked with me. Through all of the lockdowns and other events in my life that I had allowed to distract me I had lost my way. I strayed and have been fumbling around now for several years. It’s almost like one day I looked up and things were dark. I was alone. I could no longer feel God’s presence nor hear his voice. I’ve been praying to find my way back to him. I came across an interview on Fox News with Mark W. Talking about the Halo app and the Lent challenge. After the first lesson of the challenge I knew I could repair my relationship with God. I have realized just how far I’ve strayed from His path. This app has given me hope and the excitement in my soul to know that I will soon be back with God as I continue my journey with His love. Thank you for Halo. Susan.Version: 8.2.10

Thank youI grew in a very Roman Catholic practicing family. Very blessed that my parents set a good example for my sister and I. Attended Catholic school, CCD, Alter-boy. Pops was an Army Infantry combat veteran WW2, Korea and Vietnam. He was also a 4th Degree KOC. Very active. I have been blessed to be married to a woman for 38years that is a good Catholic in mind and actions. We have 2 children that have Jesus in their hearts, both with children and are good practicing Catholics themselves. Sons Airborne Ranger too. I don’t have an answer why the past few years I seem to loose the passion I used to have for attending Mass. Jesus is still in my heart. I talk to him daily, I just know I’m not participating like I know I should. All of a sudden I would see the Hollow commercials with Jonathan Roumie and found myself hoping to catch them all the time. I can’t explain it however I found myself praying with him with tears in my eyes. It was as if Jesus found a way to get my attention and come back to my religion. I just finished saying the Rosary again on the Hollow app. It feels so good because I knew I this is where I should’ve always been in my heart. I’m going to go back to Mass and and receive communion with my wife who always goes to Mass. Thank you. Mark.Version: 9.11.0

A Blessing for the ENTIRE familyI downloaded the free trial of Hallow for myself, and have been surprised how it has become interwoven in the daily routine(s) of the ENTIRE family! Let me share a few ways is has blessed our family of 6 — The music offered is beautiful, always a safe choice, and deeply meaningful. I play it during car rides, as background noise during snack times and when the kids are doing arts and craft. We started implementing the weekly Mass Prep prior to Mass on Sunday. It’s a perfect way to start preparing our hearts and minds before worship! My kids request the prayer meditations for before bed. My son adores the narrator Anna, and will say, “Her voice is just so soothing, and she’s Catholic!” The other day we experienced tornado sirens in our area, and were downstairs huddled for safety. I was touched when my daughter asked to listen to a mediation or “The Lost Sheep” story on Hallow for comfort! Like our Faith, the app is rich and full of meaningful content. I have only scraped the surface of its offerings. My free trial will be up soon, but I cant imagine not having this powerful resource at my fingertips. You better believe I’ll be purchasing it for the year. Thank you Hallow, for providing this Mama a way to incorporate the faith in meaningful ways throughout our day!.Version: 8.2.14

Latest Update is Super BuggyI absolutely love the Hallow app, but after the recent update I have been unable to access any of the prayers. Each screen takes forever to load. I though it was an issue on my end like my Internet but having reset my router and switched to cellular only there has been no change. It’s a bummer to want to pray your daily routine and not be able to listen to any of the prayers you planned on. The prayers will sometimes load. However each screen takes several minutes to load and it is very frustrating to have to wait for 8 minutes for a 50% chance of the prayer opening. The app has shutdown (black screen and kicked me off) twice since the update. Hopefully you resolve this soon! I loved the Hallow app up until this most recent update..Version: 7.0.0

Love it, but needs some tweaksI really enjoy using this app. I am finally praying daily pretty consistently which has been one of my goals for more years than I would care to admit. I very happy that they recently added a lot of prayers in Latin as I find them more meditative. The only thing with which I’m not entirely happy is that one cannot add some entire groups of prayers to one’s routine e.g. the Latin rosary. One can add each individual rosary but then you can’t choose which day you’d like to be notified as the routines have no option for setting the days you’d like to do certain prayers. If these two parts of the app were updated they would vastly improve its overall usefulness, as it would make the routines endlessly customizable and then all I’d have to do to get going is to click on the notification and, BAM! I’m prayin’!.Version: 5.8.9

Amazing for Modern Application of the FaithI’m not Catholic & was exploring the faith. This app has been instrumental in me getting an inside view to what Catholicism looks like in practice, not just reading about the ideas of it from unapproachable/overwhelming walls of information. I have been praying everyday with the app, and this is my first week praying — ever!!! I like that the CEO is passionate about the app’s mission, and that he has experience with the other popular meditation apps that modernized meditation. I never felt connected to those apps/practices, and Hallow allows me to explore the faith through these short doses of meditative prayers. It’s fantastic and I highly recommend to anyone looking to practice prayer or deepen their Catholicism with modern guidance — especially the millennial crowd. I respect their ethos and will gladly pay for the app after the free trial. Also, love the voice in the prayers, very soothing..Version: 4.4.1

I start and end my day with Hallow.I checked how much time I spend on Hallow and it’s averaging 2.5 hours a day. I’m not on social media, news, or any other depressing platform any more. Hallow is hopeful, joyful, inspiring, it helps me walk everyday with more love and patience in my life. I am a Catholic, had wonderful Catholic priests, nuns and parents who guided me through my young life. But life got busy with kids, and work and bills and all the distractions that take up your life. Church went by the wayside. I always prayed, I always had hope in a loving, merciful God, but it was mediocre. Hallow changed all that. Life is amazing, not always tidy but, love and mercy and understanding make it blessed. The community of readers and spiritual mentors biblical scholars provide soul lifting prayers, homilies, biblical understanding and much, much more. Try it, and God bless you and yours!.Version: 9.0.1

Worth the money! Amazing appAbsolutely love this app. It’s truly a blessing from God. Some people may be hesitant because of the subscription fee, but it’s reasonable. Especially since the Hallow team seems to be coming up with more things to add! This app has helped me really meditate and work on my relationship with Him. It’s so hard to find modern Catholic apps these days. This app allows for a lot of Catholic tradition with a mix of modern day flare. I love the look of the app as well, very simple and eye catching. The narrator is very soothing, i love having some background music (i choose ambient music but having a Gregorian chant option is above and beyond in my opinion!) additionally, i love how the creators and the team are working hard to constantly update and add to this app!! I can’t wait to see what else Hallow will have in store for the future! Thank you Hallow for bringing me closer to God..Version: 4.0.2

Amazing way to begin a day or wind down at nightI read as many reviews as I could to get a full picture of what this app was all about and if it was what I had been looking for. The comments about the voices had me hung up, but in lieu of another option I decided to give it a try and I have loved it. Right now I cannot even tell you how much the subscription was. That tells me how worth it the cost was. I understand what some people are saying about the voices, I have the same feeling about a few lectors at mass, their cadence causes me to lose focus rather than keep it, but unlike mass, this app allows me to speed up the voice to 1.25 or 1.5 and that makes all the difference. The speakers are great, and the voices of those I speed up are so strong that they don’t get whiny at higher speeds..Version: 5.8.9

Love !Hallow is a wonderful tool to have in my daily devotional time. I have enjoyed the variety of options and the care that has been taken to get all of this together. I especially like the music that has been added. Sometimes I just need the music in my prayer time. But don’t get me wrong I need the guided meditation most of the time. I was just looking through my history and remembered how much I learned during the Lenten meditations which lead me to he advent challenge. Thank you. My one issue is that I get locked out sometimes and have to go through some crazy steps to get back into Hallow. The team is very responsive to my issues and have helped me, however, it occurs randomly and some times it prevents me from using the app for a day or so. With that being said Hallow is totally worth the glitch ! Thank you again for Hallow..Version: 4.0

This app transformed my prayer life!I started using this app about 8 months ago and I learned so many beautiful ways to pray! The content is rich with beautiful guided prayers and devotions, surpassing all apps... then Hallow goes and adds even more amazing content! Fr Mike Schmitz, a beautiful man of God with ways of speaking to connect anyone to the inner chambers of their heart and then, Hallow added content such as Jonathan Roumie, who plays Jesus on The Chosen, and reads Jesus's famous sermon from the Gospel of Matthew, chapters 5 - 9! Tears! Tears of joy and love! I LOVED THIS SO MUCH! Truly, last night I feel asleep listening to my Lord and Savior. I cannot thank the team at Hallow enough for this beautiful gift! It’s a must have! This team truly loves helping bring us all closer to God as it shows in each and every part of this app! May God bless and keep you, Hallow team! What a beautiful ministry he’s called you to! Praise God!.Version: 4.6.1

A new decade - a new awakeningI just turned 60 and have felt a draw to go to mass and a need to pray, but put it off. I heard Father Rich Pagano on The Catholic Talk Show mention the Hallow app for your phone. I downloaded and it sat there for a few weeks. Well today, I was alone in the house and the rumble of an approach thunderstorm and I decide to try Hallow. I selected a 5 minute prayer with God in silence, it was amazing and left me needing more, so I click on the Angelius prayer because I have a deep devotion to Our Blessed Mother, than I listen to a presentation of St. Theresa of Avila and I was blown away, it is as if the presentation was written just for me. I am energized and want more. Time to upgrade from the free version to the paid version. I also am going to be inviting people in my life to join this community, which is such a blessing during this pandemic. God Bless and keep you all!.Version: 4.6.1

Apple Watch app??Even though I’ve only had the app for a week I cannot begin to explain how much it has helped me as a Catholic young adult. I’ve never been dutiful with practicing the faith, and it’s so great to have such a great number of resources to look into and pray with. I can’t thank the creators enough for an app that looks great, is accessible, and is so calming. Almost every session begins with the same introduction which was starting to bother me, but it’s becoming less of an issue as I just start to think of the deep breathing and attention focus to God as a routine I need to get into. Would LOVE to see an Apple Watch app to be able to listen to prayers through that on workouts and such. Also, maybe the prayer goal could have the option to change to times a day instead of times a week? Anyway, Hallow is great you should get it!.Version: 4.4.3

This app is changing my lifeThis app has so many amazing components, I don’t know where to start- the prayers for different parts of the day, mood and intentions are beautiful. The meditations and peaceful music nourish your soul and bring you closer to God. The lineup of speakers, including Jonathan Roumie, and Jim Caviezel is just superb. There are many opportunities to learn more about our catholic faith! You can even create your own prayer routines for different parts of the day. I have just been using this app for a couple of weeks, and I am already seeing a change in the way I view life and an increased closeness to God. I will definitely continue with my subscription! If you can pay for a cup of specialty coffee once a month, skip that coffee and pay for this subscription. It will change your life!.Version: 8.2.11

I guess I’m too old…See Update BelowIt took me a little time, but I figured out how to slow down how fast the people speak on this app. I couldn’t keep up with them, and even slowed down as much as I can, I still have difficulty keeping up. That’s why three stars. I’d have given five stars otherwise. I’m on a fixed income so I can’t afford the premium content but I appreciate the free content, thank you very much for it! You just need to have somebody do the prayers more slowly for us older people. UPDATE: Someone from Hallow reached out to me and explained what I need to do to slow down the speech, and how to do it. I was surprised they reached out, I’ve never had support like that before! So because of that I’ve changed from a three stars to a five stars review. Thanks for reaching out!!.Version: 6.2.11

Prayer is much more relaxedThankyou for putting this together. I can only afford the free version But still very helpfull.I wish there was some free night mediations in it..Version: 3.2.2

Great Gift to the ChurchI am pleasantly surprised at the quality of this app. I’m going to tell other people about it for sure!.Version: 3.0.0

VoiceThe voice is too slow, it’s nice that the lector is relax and this is calming but, it’s so slow that it is frustrating, maybe I am resisting a new method that God is trying to form me into, but the breathy and slow speech is irksome. But the content is amazing thank you so much..Version: 5.8.1

So grateful for Hallow!!!Hallow is a truly beautiful prayer app! It has been such a blessing to me and has shaped my prayer life in a very positive way. I love their prayer challenges. I also really appreciate that there’s new content being added all of the time! This incredible app just continues to get better and better! Thank you Hallow!.Version: 8.2.13

SacredI am not catholic but Jonathan Roumie has a great voice to read scripture . So I thought what the heck, let’s get it. I have come to have a routine of listening to the daily scripture every morning and then do the examens at night. It’s not about the chosen Jesus anymore. What this catholic app reminded me was the sacred part of Jesus. I don’t understand everything on this app but I love what I have found that brings me closer to God. You won’t regret it..Version: 5.6.0

Free trial months ?Not really free - gathering information app ? No idea - good prayers though . The free trial should be marked as a bonus as you do have to sign over your credit card information. I am not giving credit card information for a free three month trial ..Version: 8.1.0

So helpful for prayingThank you so much.Version: 9.11.2

Amen God Thank You Lord I Love You FatherFor the fact that i dont have my bible yet this is helpful alot and Im grateful God Bless ❤️🙏.Version: 9.11.2

Thank you JesusWhen i was young i was bullied but i kept that pain inside me. Growing up, this leaded me to take bad decisions to try to get the respect from my friends (drugs, sex, etc). As I started a business and became millionaire later, much I was doing was to try to prove to other what i’ve had accomplished… big car, big house, numerous travels… God came back to my life 2 years ago but I still couldn’t understand why i wasn’t able to surrender totally. During that Hallow prayer about surrender, i really felt like God explained to me that those event that I had buried deep down were the cause of my lack of humility. Thank you God and Hallow team for this..Version: 9.11.2

Easy way to don’t forget to pray and be thankfulI have God in my mind during the day to thank my life . However I always forget to talk to him a lot or reflect. So that’s why I downloaded this app ..Version: 9.11.1

"Guidés en Prière : Votre compagnon spirituel au quotidien"Il arrive qu'on se questionne sur le point de départ ou sur les moyens de s'engager dans la prière. It’s given me hopeToday I listened to the 40 day. I can’t express how much it taught me and gave me hope for what I am going through now.Version: 9.10.1

UnsharableI purchased the app so me and my kids could go through the prayers on our own time, than share about them later on together. I find it very unreasonable that a prayer app cannot be shared through apple family sharing without everyone buying a subscription. Promoting prayer is important, promoting family prayer is most important. Change the policy Hallow ..Version: 9.10.1

AmazingBeautiful app May God bless you all.Version: 9.10.1

Hollow reviewWhat an amazing app to pray with! It helps me keep track of my prayer life when I am forgetful, and it has officially improved my prayer life and my relations with the father, son, and Holy Spirit. This is a miracle app!.Version: 9.10.0

Most Good Part Need SubscriptionYou developed a great app and is a great help for this generation. Though I understand that funds needs to be generated for the sustainability of the app and its maintenance, however I cannot afford extra expenses as missionary family in North America especially with the high cost of living. My children love using it, though a lot of good stuff are unavailable in the free version. Keep up the good work in the Lord’s vineyard..Version: 9.10.1

Thank you Hallow🙏Thank God I found this app i can't afford to pay and i'm so happy they have this for free it really helps me spiritually and make my faith stronger..Version: 9.10.0

Great app for newbiesI was raised conservative Baptist and I’m very drawn to Catholicism. This app is giving me a better under standing of the religion. I really like studying it and it’s a great way to start and end your day..Version: 9.9.0

Great app for prayer and meditation however….I have been a year subscriber of this app and I loved it so much. No doubt this app help me to deepen my faith and prayer life. The only suggestion that I can have right now is I hope they will allow the music section to be connected to some assistant such as Google, Alexa and bixby. I tend from time to time to just listen it in my room and meditate and sometimes earphones or EarPods are not available around me. That’s all I can say for now PS: kudos to the team of Hallow more Catholic guests please such as Cardinal Collins, more of Dr. Edward Sri etc..Version: 9.8.1

To all lovers of ChristThis app is so dear to me it reminds me that now is the moment to focus on our love CHRIST..Version: 9.7.1

Great way to meditateI’ve found this app to be a great way to quiet my mind and focus on the Lord..Version: 9.7.0

Great resourceThis is a great guide for prayer to keep me in the practice of it!.Version: 9.6.1

HallowThank you for keeping our souls alive!!.Version: 9.6.1

Inspirational Prayer AppThis is an inspirational App. Through a variety of prayers and reflections that one can engage with, it brought me closer to God's words of guidance, inspiration and comfort. It's simplicity of use gives it extra marks from my end! Thank you for this!.Version: 9.6.1

A contemporary app for ChristiansI’m loving the app so far and it’s very well built! The only minor downside is that there is no setting that reduces data streaming when on cellular, that lowers the graphics and audio quality to not eat up as much. There is downloads but if there’s a new prayer or sound and it’s not downloaded you can’t listen to it offline..Version: 9.6.1

Love this app!If you are always on your phone, and want to start having better praying habits don’t hesitate AND GET IT NOW. You have to get this app. It helps your prayer be reverent and have structure. It encourages you to be consistent as well. And it actually helps you to get use to sitting in silence. We are all bombarded by technology, so start practicing inner silence that enhances prayer. I pray that all that use this app become more saintly everyday. Viva Cristo Rey!.Version: 9.5.3

Fantastic app. I love you, Lord.I love Jesus. This app leads me by the hand, and I’m so grateful..Version: 9.4.1

My life has changedI went from never praying to NEEDING to pray and I love it. Thanks to Hallow for making it an easy routine.Version: 9.2.1

Best appI love this app so much! It has helped me so much to grow in my Faith🙏.Version: 9.2.1

PeacefulMeditative contemplative, and allows us to use our intuition, to go within and listen to the divine voice within each one of us. Thank you God bless & Mary Keep Peter Sammarco.Version: 9.1.1

RosaryI am new Catholic and did not know how to pray the Rosary. I went on a pilgrimage to Megjougoure. Mother Mary appears there to this day and asked us to pray the rosary, fast on Wednesday and Friday, confess every month, attend mass and read the bible. Hallow app helps me with two of this requirements. Writing down the Prayer intentions is really helpful..Version: 9.0.5

Good but too many paid prayers.I really like this app. The aesthetic, the layout and all the different categories and options are amazing. I am a lukewarm Catholic and I want to strengthen my relationship with Jesus. That’s why I got this app. It’s actually really great and useful to get closer to God. The only complaint I have is that many of the prayers and different options need to be unlocked through PREMIUM. A few prayers here and there… I understand. But a vast majority of them need PREMIUM. I guess it’s not really an issue for me. I can make do with what I have but it would be awesome to be able to have access to many more prayers and cool things without paying. There is a FREE TRIAL, though, so that’s great. Overall, an amazing concept and an amazing app. God bless you all, my dear brothers and sisters. May the LORD have mercy on us and may we be faithful for eternity. Amen! 🙏.Version: 9.0.5

Great IdeaLove the idea for the app. Something I was trying to navigate though was prayers typed out so I could read them allowed or follow along. Maybe I am missing it, or possibly you could look into adding that in the near future?.Version: 9.0.5

Fantastic Personal Prayer AppSo many great topics and subjects to explore. Wonderful to navigate, and beautiful to deepen your faith! Love it!.Version: 9.0.4

Best app I’ve ever downloaded ❤️‍🔥This app is so amazing and has really helped me grow I’m my faith. Some of my favourite prayers are Lent pray 40, Jeff Cavins daily reflections, Marian consecration, and many many more! Jonathan Roumie (who plays Jesus in the chosen) is also one of the speakers and he is my favourite!!! Thank you so much Hallow..Version: 9.0.2

Weird choice of celebritiesI get that celebrities help boost things but they’re having QAnon cult fans and hard liners headlining way too much. It’s uncomfortable and creepy. The speed is really slow too and going faster makes it comical..Version: 9.0.4
