Enjoying this app!This is the first time that I have written a review for an app. I’ve been searching for an app that also records the learners voice and compares the recording to a native speaker: Rosetta Stone has this capability by comparing a learner’s voice wave against a native speaker for correctness. Doulingo also does records but similar to Rosetta Stone just indicates if your recording just matches. This apps take it a step further by showing the learner which (汉字.. hànzì) he/she had mispronounced the 汉字 a common mistake learners of Chinese make by not applying the correct tone used by the 汉字. The App developers take this a step further by helping the learner visually see which 汉字 were pronounced with the correct tone (in green) and which 汉字 were not pronounced correctly (in red). Language learning for some is not a straight forward process, for some learners like myself learning a language requires multiple sensory inputs; this process works for me as a native English speaker, and through this process I can speak and write proficiently in Spanish. I’ve acquired B1 in German through this process as well. And no one ever speaks about individuals who are dyslexic and their L2 acquisition... I personally can and it is with the help by App developers who get it, get that learning any L2 language for someone requires multi-sensory inputs and feedback. Thanks for creating this app! It’s helping me learn!My favorite thing about SuperChinese is that it’s helping me learn to think in Chinese with immersive exercises where there’s a brief audio conversation and then a question (in Chinese) about what was said. You don’t just have to transcribe what you heard; you have to think critically and often pick an answer that uses different words to explain the concept. None of the questions are tricky logically, for example they rely only on basic math like adding 4+1, but you have to actually understand the context to answer correctly. Other apps I’ve used focus more on transcription and translation, and SuperChinese goes a big step beyond that. Tiene la opción de configurar la app en varios idiomas, y he seleccionado español. Best for chinese learningI’ve tried other learning apps not specifically made for Chinese like Duolingo and Rosetta Stone, but this one is much better than both combined. this is mainly because it recognizes that Chinese is a language with it own unique systems like tones, pīnyīn, and stroke order. here are some of its best features: 1. Pronunciation learning lessons: these are off to the side of the main lessons, but they can help you to learn how to pronounce tones, as well as more complicated sounds like q, zh, and x. 2. Character writing feature: normally to learn how to write in Chinese, you would need to get a piece of paper and look at the characters and write it. super chinese has this built in. you are giving a write option when you first learn a character, and can also practice the stroke order of anything you’ve learned so far in the vocab section of the textbook. 3. pīnyīn incorporation: how to pronounce the characters is one of the most important parts of chinese. but, relying on Pinyin all the time can make you forget the characters. knowing the characters but not the pinyin makes it so you don’t know how they sound. better chinese has a simple solution: A button to toggle pinyin on and off..Stanloona22Version: 4.5.1

Best Chinese Study App EverThis app does what no others do. Sure Chinese not only teaches you Chinese, but each lesson gives you lots of incredible listening and speaking practice. I have already passed HSK4 and am studying for HSK5, and honestly, I’m finding the Level 3 lessons useful and challenging. Each lesson provides a lengthy conversation in full speed Chinese that really forces you to improve your listening. Later, you get to learn each sentence, and amazingly, it actually does help you say the words with the correct tones. Overall, excellent. The only app that is a close second is Busuu, but Super Chinese is hands-down the best one. Invest in this (and HSKOnline, another app by the same company) and your Chinese will improve dramatically. 加油！ NOTE: I earlier gave this app a low score because there was a bug with the recording feature. Worth the moneyI studied Chinese for two years in college and my level is pretty decent, but it’s stagnated over the years even though I actually live in China now. The app did a pretty decent job recognizing my current Chinese level. I’m definitely learning new information in each lesson group, but it’s not so difficult that I don’t recognize any of the characters and give up/search on Baidu Translate haha.. I’ve tried quite a few language learning apps and also tried self-studying using my college textbook… but I usually give up after a week or so. Near perfectI studied Mandarin as an undergraduate student for four years without previous exposure to the language. Nearly 10 years later and in just under three months this app has given me the courage and confidence to recommit to my studies. However, I do have a few qualms. 1. An opt in/out for timed quizzes would be really helpful. Sometimes it’s difficult to reconstruct sentences especially when they aren’t from the dialogue. 2. The sentence scramble scoring is off. There have been several times when I misplaced one section but multiple areas are marked wrong. It is very confusing when attempting to correct your mistake. 3. Some of the English translations are incorrect. I understand it pulls from Google Translate, but an option to submit corrections could improve the app..LP=LoveVersion: 4.0.3

Good content, vendor responsive to feedbackI’ve completed the entire app at this point. Customer for around 3 years now. It will take you through HSK 4-5 thoroughly and with various study types. The grammar guidance sections are probably the biggest difference with many other Chinese APPs. I also like the flexibility to toggle pinyin, traditional characters , font size, audio settings quickly and on the fly. I leave pinyin off but when stumped it is a click away. They recently added an AI feature. I shared some negative feedback with the vendor, they responded in long detail and addressed the concerns. Seems much better now. Well done. Great for self teaching. Could be tweakedI have a lot of trouble trying to use it on my iPad. Sometimes the words get cut off and I can’t get out of the screen and I have to back out and go back in. But I don’t have those issues on my phone at all. Some of the questions, are a bit confusing, but they are few and far between. They could help explain what you get wrong when you miss one a little better, but these are small problems in the grand scheme of things. If you are not taking a formal class, you should not use this app without a tutor of some sort. You should be able to bring your questions to your tutor, and if you don’t have one or they can’t answer your questions, go to hellotalk or Tandam to find one.RyziellVersion: 3.8.1

Love this app but 2 suggestionsThere are only 2 things that I would change if I could. The time limit for tests needs to be a little longer. For complete beginners like myself, there isn’t enough time to read/listen to something and understand that quickly. I end up picking an answer when the time is almost up not even knowing what I chose. Also, at the end of some lessons they have you repeat what you hear without any words on the screen. This is difficult for me because I can barely do this in my native language. I know that’s probably just me, but it would be nice to have an option to read the sentence if I want to. A very good study appI am using this excellent app every day for 30 minutes, as a supplement to my heavy duty Chinese learning (Books, video lessons, etc...) With it I am learning new words, reinforcing what I learnt somewhere else and spending idle time doing something worthwhile instead of surfing the internet. I like especially the fact that you can skip many things, although not recommended of course. The pronunciation is pretty clear as well and the repetition patterns are pretty effective in my opinion. Great app and I’m learning fast!I’m super happy to find an app that keeps me coming back every day and helps me develop good learning habits. The designers and developers seem to have put quite a bit of thought into how to train and remind us of important, grammar, vocabulary, and spoken patterns. some minor bugs I encountered earlier seem to have been worked out by now. Great app worth the moneyFirst if all the placement test is free, app is not. I’ve found a lot apps to teach Chinese from basics up, but this is the only app I’ve found that can adjust the study plan for someone who has some previous exposure. Lessons are interactive and interesting. I also like that it clearly tells you what level HSK you test at and the level the vocabulary you’re learning is at. Great app can be betterI love this app and have started learning Chinese on it. I like the concept of the leagues and everything and I think it is really good app to learn Chinese with. I do think that it can be improved though. I don’t like how sometimes when you are learning it shows a sentence with a new word and you have never learned the word before. I also think that sometimes I forget what some words mean to I think that after some of the sentences it would be helpful to have an option to see the translation so I can remember it better. DisappointingThe lessons themselves would be good if they gave translations, but they don’t, so they’re not. Rather than reinforcing the learning by making sure you understand, you’re likely to lose it as you stare at or listen to Chinese that hasn’t rooted into your memory yet. Such a waste, as the lessons could be good and the range of content is great. Also the review is terrible. There’s no good way to practice what you’ve learned. If you’ve maxed out HelloChinese then this isn’t a bad option, but it’s not a great one either. With better reinforcement in-lesson and better review options it could be great. Great for intermediate learnersI’ve had such a difficult time finding an app that truly teaches mandarin similar to taking a class. This app is excellent for an intermediate learner (HSK4/5). My reading has improved so much in just a month. I can work at my own pace, go back in study anything I don’t understand. The AI sections are really helpful in solidifying vocabulary and forces me to create my own sentences and have dialogues with the AI. I also feel compelled to come back every day. Pretty dang good.Obviously one app. Especially for just 15 min a day won’t get you fluent in a language anytime soon. However out of all the language learning apps. I love this appThis is like one of my very few reviews that I have ever written, and after they removed the time limit for non vip users this app is simple phenomenal. Already I have spent over 500 minutes studying in the app (they tell you this with a bunch of other stats) and I'm only halfway through level 2. The best part of this apps is the minute long video dialogues in the middle of each lesson. They are really entertaining and I feel proud of myself to be able to follow along with them. What a great touch! The support staff is awesome too, and so many constant improvements and updates. Best Chinese appThis app is the best one I have used. There are lots of native speaking sound bytes besides the painfully slow pronunciations. The app goes up to a very advanced level. The end-of-section assessments are challenging and require you to have a good grasp on the terms and grammar you learned, often using new words and phrase combinations that make you really think rather than rehashing the same sentences you learned in the lessons. I like it, but it’s annoying.This app I have recently purchased a premium membership for. I am able to log in on my phone, but not my iPad. My iPad sends the telephone verification, but my phone doesn’t receive it. I cannot find any help within the app or any way to communicate with developers. I used to have this app and previously purchased a lifetime membership. They seem to have rebranded and separated into two apps now. Fun and easySo, I love studying languages but I can never seem to stick with them for very long. So when I decided to study Chinese, I thought that I would drop it after a couple months. Good app but constant crashing since new updateThe app is great when it works! However, the app recently started crashing. I can not longer open the app at all and I’ve paid for the full year ;-;. Awesome idea but the app has too many bugsI love the lessons in this app! But I’ve never experienced an app with so many bugs and no workarounds. The app started to crash every time I finished a lesson, making it impossible to start the next lesson (have to finish the lessons in order..). I tried to delete the app and reinstall it but this made it worse as all my lesson history was gone and I had to restart. Best app for learning and practicing Chinese!I was using both SuperChinese and Duolingo to study Chinese. However Duolingo doesn’t really have much of a commitment to Chinese, which is very disappointing. SuperChinese is a great app that helps in all areas—listening, speaking, and reading. More vocabularies!Each level only teaches you 1-3 new words. For example in Lv3 - Nationality the app only teaches 2 countries America and China. The most important part of a language is knowing more vocabulary in order to communicate. In general i rate 4/5.FoxweeVersion: 3.9.6

When I registered on the new phone and logged in it showed me another #SCyyyy with did not have my VIP nor my progress. How you guys manage this ?? All other apps you just log in with your password on any device and it transfer all the progress. Who will solve this as app itself has no Customer support , only Feedback. Not So ExcellentThis app has quite a few annoying bugs. You need to make zero mistakes in order to get a top grade on the tests but ironically, the app itself is full of stupid bugs that never seem to get fixed! the recording is buggy, the tests frequently ask duplicate questions in the same test, the audio playback on my ipad often has long silent gaps (like a bad phone connection), making it very frustrating for the time limited tests ( how are we supposed to guess the audio?!)
