Rapid Ring App Comments & Reviews

Rapid Ring Positive Reviews

No Doubt It Generates a Faster Picture! However, often the picture is very pixelated & sometimes half of the field is blocked by Green Interference so nothing can be viewed. I’m not certain if it could be the combination of Apps that I have on my Cell. Or if others are experiencing anything similar. The Main Problem I have had & see others are having, is the long delay from the time a Ring Camera detects motion until it finally produces the video so you can see what is happening. Often my Ring Pro Doorbell has been so slow producing video that the person ringing the bell has given up & left! When only motion from deliveries of packages, is what was detected by the Ring Doorbell, the delivery man if back in his truck or Gone!!! This Must Be Fixed By Ring For Them To Ever Gain Ground On The Market For Security Cameras!... They Are Simply Toys To Amuse Or Frustrate Anyone Who Purchases One!... Hopefully the upper management of the company will take heed to the many complaints & rectify this condition! I have over a dozen of their cameras & at this point I wished I had gone a different direction with my security..Version: 1.5.1

Much improves accessI was not happy with the updated App for Ring. When I went to the App Store I found the alternative Rapid Ring App. It’s great! Faster and direct to the Live View in a few simple taps. It also gives the option to link back to the original App if you want to access your history. I recommend that you download Rapid Ring if you want to speed up your Ring service. However, it seems STUPID that it is necessary to use two apps to increase the functionality of the Ring Door Bell. The original APP worked just fine before they began to tinker and upgrade..Version: 1.5.1

Not really faster as advertisedI would like quick access to my live feed. I appreciate their effort but it still falls short of what is trying to accomplish. Still seconds before I get the video and trying to talk to the person at the door. By that time they have rung the bell again. Frustrating for me. I also get a notification on my watch but unable to have a quick picture of who/what happened at the time to set the motion off. I have to look at my watch, then go find my phone, then open the app, then the intruder has done their deed and took off! I’m open to ideas too on home to use their cameras more efficient, if I can improve my habits. Please let me know. I am all in on this system! Please continue to make improvements.Version: 1.12

Loads on my iPhone quickerI’m new owning a Ring video doorbell. Video, audio and motion sensitivity much better than what I had before. However, using the Ring app that is used to set up and modify the settings to view live to respond to a person who rang the door bell seems to lag a second or two. That’s to long in my opinion to respond to someone at your door. This app launches quickly and seemlessly works with the original Ring app that you download intitially to install and change settings. You can’t change settings or install thru the Rapid Ring..Version: 1.19.0

Works greatThis app really make my cameras useable. On the past using the regular app, it took a long time to view my cameras by the time the cameras were activated everything was over. With this app, I get a notification, activate the camera and see what’s happening while it is unfolding. For example, someone was just walking by our cottage on the lake path. It only takes 15-20 seconds to walk by. But I got a notification and brought up the camera before he had passed by. Since today it’s -10 out, he was in a bit of a hurry but I saw him!.Version: 1.21.0

Terrible for battery lifeThis app Does open up the ring camera faster, but it consistently uses up 75%+ of my battery life if I forget to close it out when I am done. For some reason the App keeps using significant power even when it is not actively being used. As long as the app is open on the background, my battery drains at ~4-5x the usual rate. Sometimes I’ll only get ~3-4 hours of battery life if I leave it open in the background. This is a big bug the ring team needs to solve. If solved I’d give the app a 5 star..Version: 1.34.0

Will not workI have three Ring video devices and and they all workin the original Ring app. However, I cannot get this Rapid Ring app to load. The app keeps tell me west up a video device in the original Ring app and will not let go any further. The thing is, I already have my three Ring video devices set and working just fine in that app. I have no clue what to do to get Rapid Ring to recognize that my ring video devices have already been set up and are working. What am I doing wrong? I gave it one star because it will not work..Version: 1.21.0

I never write reviews but..I think people are misunderstanding what this app is all about. The actual Ring app is clunky and slow. I work from home in a quiet neighborhood and if I hear any unusual noise outside I get my phone to see what/who it is whether it’s via a phone notification or not. This app screams “get to the point” and after comparison with Ring’s it does exactly what it’s supposed to.. Get you to the live view as fast as possible. Love it so far. UPDATE: After a couple months using this app I switched to it as my default notification app over the Ring app. Game changer 🙌.Version: 1.6.0

Needs one improvementI love the “Rapid Ring” app. Not sure why it isn’t promoted within the packaging of the ring doorbell or within the ring app. (If it was, I missed it) I only learned about it from someone’s review of the Ring doorbell. Anyway... the one improvement I would like to see is a setting that would allow me to go right to opening the live view of the one and only Ring product I currently own rather than first opening Rapid Ring and having to hit the button to open live view of the camera. That would make things even more “Rapid”. 😆.Version: 1.7.0

Only semi-functional app for Ring hardwareAs others have mentioned, the reason this app exists is because the normal Ring app is no longer functional. This one at least functions but like the original app, this one seems to get slower and less responsive over time. Ring always blames any bug they create on YOUR Network..you could have a google internet server in your living room and Ring would blame any issues on the speed of your internet. Ring, stop with the deflection…fix your original app and quit making it less functional with every update..Version: 1.29.0

Improves speed but difficult to manage notificationsThe app works great although there seems to be some disconnect in which all the notifications are managed (snoozing, disabling, etc.) I initially was getting two sets of notifications and eventually disabled the main app somehow. Couldn’t tell you if it was from the app or if I disabled from iOS settings. I think the apps could definitely communicate “better” for notification purposes. Main Ring App could prompt “I see you’ve installed Rapid Ring. Would you like to disable notifications here to avoid duplicates?”.Version: 1.15.2

Finally - Fast response is here!If there was ever a “beef” most people had with Ring is it’s excessively slow response to activity. This new app optimizes the performance to where you can actually “answer” the door remotely before your visitor walks away! Long overdue, but glad it’s finally here. One missing feature: This app STILL doesn’t automatically open your camera feed for you (you STILL have to respond to a pop up notification first). DEVELOPERS: Feature request: Allow the app to be configurable to AUTOMATICALLY open the video feed automatically if: 1) Someone is moving near your Ring doorbell camera. 2) Someone pushes the doorbell button Each of these AUTO-OPEN/VIEW options should be individually user-enabled/disabled in the user interface of this app. We didn’t pay all of this money for this product to then turnaround and NOT look at activity - right? (Motion Snooze) would continue to be available as well..Version: 1.13

Pure speedI had trouble getting my ring to show live video quickly. It took about 30 seconds waiting for the live video to be displayed after detecting motion. I did a quick search on google and found this app. I wish I knew about it sooner. I have the control of the regular ring app and when motion is detected or someone presses the doorbell I have the speed of this app. To tell the truth I was ready to find another video doorbell system but I just couldn’t be happier now. Thank you Ring!.Version: 1.19.0

Great ReliefI would say this is a great response to a growing complaint of the speed of access to live video on the main Ring App. Thanks for listening. As to now having two Apps, I don’t mind. 90% of the time a quick look is all I need. I can do everything else “at a later time”, when seeing what is happening right now is not that critical. Would it be nice for it to be all in one place? Yes. Is is better to now have a solution while the preferred one is being worked on (hopefully)? Definitely..Version: 1.3

Don’t understand the purpose of this appFor me personally this app does the same as a regular Ring App. Maybe it does it faster or the plus is it provides a direct access to your door bell, but personally I installed this app months ago but used it only few times. The app itself is working great, I just don’t see how it can help me. The app I would like to see - open the app and see in one second what my Ring camera sees without any extra steps, and if someone ring a bell I’ll have an option to setup an app to see a doorbell view on my phone automatically, no pressing of anything, no opening of any apps..Version: 1.13

Ring/rapid ring and entry sensorsWe are enjoying the ring system we have installed at our house except for a couple of things. We have 6 door entry sensors and if they are breached our alarm goes off. The only problem is during the night, we don’t know which door sensor has been set off. If would be great if ring could update it and announce which door sensor has been set off. The other thing is one sensor is already on its third set of batteries and it’s a door we rarely use and we haven’t had the system a year yet..Version: 1.19.0

Troubles no moreI had consistent issues connecting to live view. Reinstalled my Ring doorbell several times to no avail. Checked internet connections and speed. All okay. Then I came across this app and the reviews were glowing. Within minutes all is working. I can now see live view immediately. Works great. But Ring should be admonished for creating a faulty app and then producing a secondary app to make it work. Nevertheless finally a solution. This app is a must have!.Version: 1.15.2

Great addition to home security and safety.I have been a Ring customer for over 5 years and love the system. It has been a great system to use. I especially like the ease of use, customization and the all encompassing devices available. I really like the fact that Ring is always updating the capabilities and functionality. If I had to do it all over again, I would definitely choose Ring again. Keep,up,the good work!.Version: 1.34.0

Works fine except for door bell ringsAs stated, it provides much faster access to live video. When a detecting motion occurs, I can see it immediately however, when someone rings the doorbell, it takes forever to open up the live video. This is also true on the ring app.I prayed changing recording lengths and other setting, but I have not found anything that will let me see immediately who rang the doorbell..Version: 1.35.0

Great help for answering the door in timeThis app is meant to be a “shortcut” to get to the person to be able to talk to them etc. with the other full app, done people had already walked away with the tone of took me to get to the screen to talk to them. The regular app is great for settings of all sorts. This app is best for answering the doorbell. Ring customer service recommended and it’s free. You’ll be so glad you got it!.Version: 1.13

Not all it’s cracked up to be.Rapid Ring? More like sometimes rapid but usually no faster than the actual Ring app. The purpose of Rapid Ring is the quickly load live feeds from your Ring cameras without loading the whole Ring app. I am currently switching from Ring to Eufy cameras. I still have two Ring cameras and while one loads rather quickly, the other is so hit and miss (it’s inconsistent just like the Ring app itself). Overall, not really impressed. If you want better cameras, a better app, and pay less money, switch to Eufy like I am..Version: 1.18.0

Great Companion app for RINGThis app helps to pull up cams much quicker than the normal app by doing away with some of the features afforded in the RING app. You lose the ability to zoom in on video and some other features, but it does a great job of answer rings or motion alerts. I would give it a 5 star rating if the ability to reorder the list was added. As it is now the cams that I would use the most are at the bottom of the list and no way to move them to the top. It is nonetheless a welcome addition to the RING System..Version: 1.3

TO LINK DECO S5 ISSUE BLACK SCREEN IMPROVEDBought a TP Link Deco mesh system and some cameras do not load, they hang for a while then I get stream error or records in black video. With Rapid Ring camera loads much faster although sometimes video is half green on the screen then corrects itself. Not perfect solution but improvement. Ring you are aware of to link issues and it is your cameras that have the issue please resolve this. The cameras used to get bricked, now they don’t but they still have major issues..Version: 1.25.0

Had NO clue until TODAY!!!I have been wondering why my live view wasn’t working so well even with the Chime Pro booster until I went to the Help Center today. Did a search and found Rapid Ring!!! Works within 5 seconds for a live view and am so VERY PLEASED and impressed!!! Wish if the Ring app “knows” that it is having issues to automatically suggest downloading the Rapid Ring app 🤗.Version: 1.35.0

Better but Not EnoughRapid Ring goes a long way in salvaging what would have been a worthless system due to the standard Ring app’s inability to show a live video stream in a timely manner. Video displays almost instantly, so that’s a step in the right direction. But unfortunately, the alert when someone approaches is somewhat delayed, so far too often the person at your door has come and gone before you’ve had a chance to launch the app. This is where Rapid Ring’s inability to rewind a few seconds weakens the strength of the system..Version: 1.9.2

Good not GreatFor me, it wasn’t perfectly clear why Rapid Ring needed to exist. It seems like a more basic version of the Ring app but perhaps faster? My thought is that if they could make the video generate faster then just improve the Ring App? Why the need for a second app? Let me be clear, I like it, I think it’s good... but it’s hard for me to say it’s great when I feel like they made a separate app for something that could have been an update to either of the existing apps. Just my two-cents!.Version: 1.24.0

Never works when you need itThis app is pointless since it gives us the same issues of “establishing connection” all the time when we need it. If we get a notification at the door this stupid thing takes forever to even turn on to talk to the person at our door. Such stupid waste of money over all I hate it..Version: 1.23.0

Fixed!!! Thx - Update removed 3D Touch view of snapshotPlease undo the latest update or fix it. I loved when an alert/notification comes up and you can use 3D/haptic touch to view the visitor snapshot in a larger view without opening the app completely. Since the update it only works on my iPad and not iPhone. Please update ASAP to bring this feature back.Version: 1.23.0

Needs refiningWorks ok. the buttons to activate viewing the cameras should be the entire line, or, if not, at least be able to tap on the picture. the single orange dot at the end is annoying. as i’m watching people steal my garden hose while im at work, it would be nice to be able to make the button overlay go away so i can see the corners of the screen. also, why don’t you add a “camera view rotation” option so we can watch the cameras real-time w/o having to tap at all. i forgot what else. but that was the two issues and one idea i had for today. thanks to everyone at the app making place for making my family just that much more safe and secure each night. the garden hose: they can keep it. fair price to keep them out of the house, i’d say. im going to bump that up to three stars. y’all are trying tucson az.Version: 1.19.0

Finally !Thanks Ring for rolling out this new quick app straight to our cameras feed. I was so annoyed before using the main app bc when my camera would be triggered the app would take forever to load or not open at all. And then Ring saves the day with the rapid ring app. I am so happy with this and I can finally see my camera feeds quickly and accurately..Version: 1.12

Good but can be betterI like the app, it’s a lot more quicker to get into a live view than the Ring app. Usually takes about 5 seconds while in the Ring app it’s about 10-15 seconds sometimes. Please create a setting option where you can go into live view right when the app opens. Some kind of auto live option, this would make it much more convenient. Thank you.Version: 1.17.0

Exactly what I wantedSo far my experience with this app has bee great. On top of wing able to access the live feed a little bit faster, you can keep it active for much longer. It does eventually fail connection but sometimes I can go 30-60 minutes before it disconnecting. My only wish is the go live button was bigger. Especially for the iPad version, the icon is just quite small. Hopefully that can be made bigger..Version: 1.5.1

GlitchesSome time video has glitches and doesn’t show well.Version: 1.15.2

Fast/ResponsiveGreat app for quick look at video.Version: 1.9.0

The notifications can be disturbingI’ve had the rapid ring for some time. I really liked it. It opened quickly and allowed to see what was going on. But they did an update of some sort and now, there is a submarine sound every time a motion is detected. There is no where to change the sound so that is why I rate it so low..Version: 1.35.0

Alert snoozing should mirror main appIt would be nice to have alerts mirror the main app for 4 hour snooze.Version: 1.25.0

Fast responsePerfect.Version: 1.23.0

Otter GasWorks Great.Version: 1.21.1

FinallyI can see people before they leave it’s awesome!.Version: 1.19.0

What the ring app should be!This is what the Ring app should be able to do. Thanks for creating an app that ACTUALLY works very fast!! A must have Love it.Version: 1.19.0

Lights at nightWorks great except when a vehicle on the road has lights turned towards my property. These lights will set off the motion detector no matter what you do. Luckily I’m not on a busy road.Version: 1.17.0

Big improvement for live feedI was ready to toss my Ring Pro doorbell because it was taking too long to load the live video feed when the doorbell was rung, but this app saved the day for me. Easy to install and set up, it only takes a few seconds to load the live feed. It does not provide all the functionality of the original Ring app, but thats okay. I still have the original app for that. But this stripped down version gives me much faster access to the video feed and that what I was looking for. Great addition to the ring apps..Version: 1.17.0

5 stars for app, 2 stars for serviceThe Door View Cam (peephole) is a great doorbell and camera. The biggest issue is that the service doesn’t work properly. About half the time when I open the Ring app (or Rapid Ring or Echo Show) it cant even connect to the camera. There is no issue with my WiFi or devices. The issue is with Ring servers. You can’t connect to their service about 50% of the time. That’s just horrible! And they expect you to pay monthly. I have also received motion notifications on my Alexa devices yet at the same time I don’t get anything on my other devices. They need to fix these issues before trying to get more money out of customers. It’s not like we didn’t already pay a lot for the hardware. Some users have reported that the Ring skill on Alexa doesn’t automatically open when the doorbell is pressed. I haven’t had this issue. It shows the front door automatically on my Echo Show 8. Motion notifications, however, do not. There is no way to change this. They are falsely advertising their Ring Protect service. On the Canadian site, it shows $3/month. But when you go to subscribe, it changes to $5/month. I see the value in a subscription, but only if the product works. Currently, it doesn’t. Other issues include late notifications, taking too long to show the camera on Echo Show or in the app (especially after a notification), crazy long processing times, and video recording that starts too late. It tells me there’s someone at my door. I immediately open the camera. By the time it shows up, no one is there. I wait a long time (sometimes over 10 or 20 minutes) for the video to “Process”. The most recent video can’t be watched until this is done. When I finally get to watch the video, it started when the person is already right in front of the door, not walking up. Sometimes they are already walking away. With such a delay in recording and displaying, I can’t believe they think they can charge so much for a subscription. This app is so much quicker than any other method. It opens Live View right away and is the best way to answer notifications. However, it still has the same connection issues and sometimes doesn’t work at all. Another thing to note is the “Neighbors” app isn’t available in Canada. It is also advertised on Ring’s Canadian website. But it’s not offered on the Canadian App Store. I was looking forward to this before I ordered it and found out after creating my account and the doorbell was already on its way that I couldn’t use it. They need to make a Canadian version. I would recommend calling it “Neighbours”..Version: 1.12

Fast responseSpeedy response. Don’t have to wait long to load..Version: 1.15.2

Black screen when open from notificationsSince ios 14 when you open rapid ring from a notification you can see that the cam loads bit there is no feed. If you stop the feed from the notice and click on the cam again you will see it load and then you can see the video feed. The app works great but is now having problem loading from a notice..Version: 1.15.1

Ok but could use some improvementsIt does open the Ring app but I’d like it to directly open the live view. Most of the time it just opens a list of cams and you still need to open the camera. It also doesn’t follow the snooze settings when you set a camera in the Ring app..Version: 1.13

Almost there...This does work quickly, once you get your phone out and tap on the notification, but getting your phone out isn’t so fast a lot of the time. If they are able to provide video support to the Apple Watch then this rating will go up to 5*’s as I almost always see the notification via the watch before I go to my phone (precious seconds!).Version: 1.11.0

Happy now!I had a swan floodlight camera for two weeks wow what piece of crap. The ring floodlight cam was easy to install and so was the app. The picture quality was second to none even in dark conditions with no light on it’s still a very good picture. If you buy a cheaper unit of any other brand you’re probably gonna be sorry so spend the extra few dollars on a ring and it will save you a lot of hassle..Version: 1.11.0

Working wellWorks great for live view after notification. Doesn’t show past recordings..Version: 1.6.2

Great but...Opens up video feeds very quickly. However, you have to close the app and the reopen it to start another stream. There is no X on the screen to get back to the camera list to choose another camera to view. This issue makes this app not as usable as I would have hoped..Version: 1.9.2

Perfect accompanying program to the Ring App.Rapid Ring is a great accompanying program to the Ring App, which is from developer Ring themselves ,so you know at least it’s going to work. What the Rapid Ring App does that the Ring App doesn’t is that it will open a live view event triggered by motion or a door bell press (when you set up those cameras or doorbells in the Rapid Ring App) with its pop up notification on your home screen like the Ring App does, but it takes over these notifications and opens up the live view to that notification much faster than the Ring App can with all its “bells and whistles added with every update”. All this is.. is a quicker way to answer or see those notifications. Once done viewing that notification and you end call, you will also just have to close Rapid Ring App. Could be better if this just ended with the end of the call as well, but not worth the demotion of a star. Good work around to I’m sure everyone’s question... can it load any faster! Thanks for this add on. Love it..Version: 1.7.0

Seems fast but still not fully testedHopefully it will be good. The first generation of Ring pro door bells have old electronics that hangs up. I got a brand new Ring pro and noted the case construction is even different. The back is not smooth but like a heat sink. The speakers are oriented differently too. The unit answers rings a lot quicker with no delays. So it obviously has upgraded electronics that seem to work better than the old generation of Ring pro. I have 4 Ring pros, three units about three years old and one new unit. Still the cheapest answer for video security so I will stay with Ring..Version: 1.6.1

Best unitI just downloaded the app so far so good I feel much better then the old one thanks for ring for the exilant help I have ring pro smal unit big jab I recommend it for every one looking to have Pice of mind.Version: 1.5.1

Rapid “Finally”No more not getting the picture of who’s at your door on time or not at all or way to slow or late. This is a good positive change and I will stay with Ring if this direction continues else we move on to a more honourable and functional process and company. Thanks for this fix so far..Version: 1.5.1

Alexa integration needed!Just downloaded this APP as the regular ring app has been working just like all other reviewers have described. It’s slow as hell and I have tested my wifi speeds which are quite fast and reliable at 42 mbs download and 15 mbs upload. The rapid ring app does show you Live View faster (when it works) and Alexa integration is much needed if you want to view who’s at your front door from an Echo Show device? Come on Ring, you should be better than this with the $$ you charge for these Ring video devices!!.Version: 1.4.5

Opens fast when I get a notification.Fast and clear. Love it!.Version: 1.4.5
