Get it now!I’ve been tinkering around with a Pi-hole setup, and I kept running into issues with using the web interface on mobile (sporadic Bad Request errors I couldn’t crush) so I decided to check the App Store and came across this infinitely useful Pi-hole Remote App. I didn’t even hesitate purchasing it, it’s well worth the asking price. The UI itself is hands down one of the cleanest I have ever experienced for a technical utility app. It’s easy to navigate and all the critical metrics and statistics information is cleanly and clearly presented and organized. It’s a lot more reliable than using the web interface on mobile and tons of customization and configuration options to tweak to your liking. It’s a highly intuitive layout. Amazing app, could be excellentThis app is a great way to view and manage your pi-hole. The design choices make everything you need up at the front of the app and it blends in well with iOS. You can view the tail of a particular IP address really easily and the details on each dns request are really helpful, allowing you to easily create blacklists. The widgets are a nice touch. So far, everything I need. There is room for improvement though; this app could be a game-changer. Group management seems to be ignored completely, including adlists. A built in whois lookup or information database about particular domains would be helpful, something similar to Little Snitch. Disabling doesn’t workI bought this app to be able quickly disable/enable pihole blocking but it doesn’t work. I have to access through the web and disable. After that the app shows status disabled but when I tap enable it doesn’t do anything. Still I have to do it through the web access. I am disappointed. If this part doesn’t work so I can’t trust the other parts of this app suspecting that it might screw up services of pihole. EDIT: I missed the API web token. Much better than expectedThe developer has put in a lot of effort in this app and it shows. For a Pi-hole noob this app makes it so much easier to check what is being blocked and what’s not, making it so much easier to white list or blacklist as needed without needing to boot up my pc and logging into the web interface, granted that doesn’t take too much effort but this app makes it so much easier. The plots of the allowed and blocked queries are great, I like to see how %blocked goes up during weekends vs weekdays and on a workday in the evening vs during the day. Incredibly well-designed appThis is a fantastic app for controlling pi-hole. You can tell that the developer put a ton of work into this—even the smallest things are well designed, like the cool animation when you refresh the query graph. One small bug I noticed though: sometimes, for no apparent reason, when you tap and hold on a domain and select “add to whitelist” it will not automatically populate the domain field on the following “add a domain” screen with the domain you selected and you will have to manually type it in. Fantastic app!Love the app; I use it all the time for controlling network traffic. Feature request: add enable/disable buttons to the blacklist/whitelist entries? Maybe even a button to enter/exit a mode where the Pi-hole collectively enables/disables multiple addresses at once? I’m thinking like parental controls mode where we can lock down certain sites without turning off the entire Pi-hole. Very Useful AppOne of the best purchases I've made. I greatly appreciate the fact that this app is one of the few apps left that is a one time fee and doesn't charge a recurring subscription to unlock "premium" features. It also features a lot of useful ways to easily manage your pihole from essentially any apple device which has become extremley useful when needing to quickly add a url to the whitelist. Great app, but would like to see a few more features addedOverall this is a really nice app. It’s beautiful, has a modern UI, very easy to use, and has a nice but somewhat limited feature set. Some features that I would really like to see added that would make the app perfect in my opinion would be: Higher priority: - Option to style query bar graph as stacked bar graph colored by client, like the one in the web interface. A Must-Have App for Pi-hole UsersIt’s hard to believe this app is free. The developer has a tip option as an in-app-purchase and it’s well worth contributing. I never thought about how convenient it would be to manage pi-hole from my phone let alone my watch. This app started with basic features to view status and disable/enable. But, it didn’t stop there. Soon, there were features for viewing statistics, a Watch app, Siri Shortcuts, managing lists, and more. Now, there are iOS 14 widgets. This developer really cranks out features. A must have for anyone with a Pi-HoleFirst of all, this app is beautiful and simple. The design language is clean and functional. I have used Pi-Hole for the past 3 years or so and while the web based dashboard was fine, it has always been a bit of a hassle to login and poke through menus to do things. This app makes really good use of the Pi-Hole API so that I am always signed in and I have quick access to disable blocking and view top queries/clients. Great App to Extend Pi-HoleI’ve been using this app for several months now and I’m not sure I could go without it. The UI/UX is fluid and is regularly updated to improve functionality and ease of use. The live log capability is really nice when I’m trying to troubleshoot a connection issue and with the ability of editing the white/black lists from the app reduces the need of actually logging on to the Pi-Hole admin page on my computer. More features than the alternative... but it doesn’t connectI really like the features that this pi hole client has over others, but for some reason, it won’t connect to my pi hole. Great Simple App, Few ImprovementsWhile other apps charge you, this app was awesome for pi hole stats. It has a lot of features, so try it. The only cons were: There seems to be a whitelist/blocklist feature, which sound cool, but it didn’t seem to fully work. The blocked domains showed up, but were never blocked. If I added through the web, it would block it immediately. It would be nice to have a disable button mode as well in safari. Truly usefulWant to block TikTok for your network? Go find the 29 domains that they use, then write Regex patterns to block those domains. Repeat for any other service you want to block. I love this app it’s amazing but..For some reason when I try looking at the statistics it tells me Pi-hole can’t be reached and I have to put the api token all over again.
