AmazingSo the app overall is amazing. I’ve been playing for roughly 30 minutes and I’ve had no ad! I’m excited about the at because I don’t have to wait long plus when you have ads it just makes the game slightly more laggy. I cannot get over the fact that this game is challenging, and also exciting. I have never found an app so useful in my life! I dont know if this is just me but if I was everyone I would definitely download this game! It definitely does take up some space but that is normal. I’ve recommended this game to family members because of how good it is. I don’t really understand the other reviews though. I read one saying that “I paid for a box to open for $10 and I don’t like waiting for 1-3 hours for it to open”. Now I get this but I feel like the game could also like just be fun to play instead of buying things. I would love to buy some things on this app but I feel like it would be a waste of money so for now in just playing the game and enjoying it while I can. There are not very many bugs but in the first hour I feel like we should have a more open choice of songs. Although this app is great, the bugs not so much. AmazingAt first, I was happy if I got 5 stars, that was my goal. The medals were for the pros. I had about twenty songs or so, a couple hards (Impossible), and I got my first gold. Now I had a new goal. Along the way I got a lot more songs and I got a lot better. Having never played other games like this before, I was never into RS or GH, I had zero experience. But as I get better my goals keep changing, and each time they do I keep getting more and more songs to reach the new goals with. The game doesnt really end. I cant imagine it will for a very long time. Im now at the point where a platinum brings little emotion and its diamond or bust, but grtting the perfect score is still something I can imagine will take a very long time to do on each song. Especially the hards and extremes (which, for me, are no longer impossible) They dont ask for money or force ads. Theres incentive to watch them if you wish, and I honestly need to stop throwing my money at them for all their offers, but thats on me and due to the game being so enjoyable. Definitely worth the download, time, recommendation. Very Fun Game! Has Potential!Let me start by saying you should definitely be playing this game if you’re a fan of games like guitar hero in real life, it takes that concept and mashes it into a portable mini tap game you can play on your phone. Kinda like piano tiles on steroids but in a good way. I do believe on how great of an experience i’ve had playing for the last few hours and the excellent choice of music, that theres just so much more its capable of than just that. The developers at supercell did a great job with this one in terms of quality, i know im playing a great game when it doesnt feel cheap and riddled with ads and this game provides me with none of that. My only cents that i can provide to make this game more fresh and full of improvements is within regular constant updates to also add different gamemodes to give the players more to do than the same objective, i do love the “event” feature which is a great step forward. Online Multiplayer is a great option, and apart from that side it would be neat to add some lyrics to the songs in game to add some flair to the gameplay (not really that big a difference but would be neat), and lastly I believe it could use some changes to the background, maybe a way to customize and earn live backgrounds or keys so you can grind for new prizes. But overall besides my opinion i still think its a well made game, and for that i give it 4 stars. Needs some work - don’t lose your fans!I LOVE this game, I spent some hard earn money on this app (over 100$+) and I play it daily. However, if it wants to keep the fans long term there needs to be some changes. Some of the packs I bought didn’t come with the songs it said it did. It came with cards to open cases 😑 I spend money and I don’t even get what I paid for. It’s enraging. Most will agree with me there needs to be more levels than just normal, hard, and extreme. There should be an easy and mild level. You have to train yourself to think normal is do-able. My extreme gamer friends even had a hard time with this game. Hard is borderline impossible to get more than 4 stars and even when you’re perfect it says you’ve done great. Look, I know y’all are just trying to get more money but if you make the system flawed you’re only going to lose players. I’m also sick of the cases- just give us the songs- 30 cards to open a case? Bffr. Also please add more genres. You can tell the developers love country music which like that’s great and all but add some more variety because I keep getting songs I don’t want. Incredible game with one problemI’d first like to say I love this game. Insanely addicting with a great UI. From top to bottom this game looks and plays amazing. Great songs and extremely challenging. Love the leaderboard/ranking aspect as well. My one and only problem with this game (and I completely understand this is how mobile games specifically are with microtransactions and how devs make a well deserved profit off of all their hard work) is the WAITING TIME. Not being able to play at all because I’m waiting 3-5 hours for a box to open is super frustrating. ESPECIALLY when I’ve bought the season pass and cannot progress any further. Like I’ve invested $10 because of how much I love the game but because of this feature I’m being prevented from playing more. And I understand you can use the diamonds to speed up the process and how the diamond/microtransactions thing works but I’m shocked to see the team hasn’t put in an option to purchase unlimited play indefinitely. I think they’d be surprised to see how many people are choosing a one-time purchase of $40-$50 on the game just to continue the grind. I know I certainly would. Or even just allowing players to continue playing without earning points towards boxes given they have no available space left. Very well designed game with a great UI.The game is fun to play, and despite the simplicity of the controls it’s very engaging. The songs are well-synced to the tiles; there’s even a feature that lets you choose the delay for Bluetooth headphones. As for difficulty, it starts out being a little easy. But once you get to more difficult songs you’ll see how the controls get interesting. I loved it, that is until I noticed how money-grubbing this is. Ads are a necessary part of the App Store, I understand that. But at some point you have to watch an ad between every song. The game is so good, I am willing to pay to not have to do that. And you can! $4.99 and you can play freely without ads… for a week. There are beautifully designed, full-length games on the App Store for that price and you get a whole experience. This app expects that every week just for a Tap Tap clone (albeit a great one). Like I said, I’d be willing to pay that ONCE, maybe even monthly. But that is just disgusting. I had to delete it for that. If you’re okay with full-length ads between each session, or are willing to cough up $4.99 once a week, this is a great game. But your wallet won’t love you. As for a suggestion, either make the game a one-time purchase and keep the in-game currency. That would allow for micro-transactions and continued revenue without preying on players. One HUGE FlawThe game is immense fun, stellar songs, beautiful graphics and design, easy to traverse with perfect touch accuracy as far as I can tell. My only complaint, though it’s a massive complaint that has me considering uninstalling, would be that I can’t play while my 3 spaces to unlock boxes are full. Effectively kicking me out of the game for 3-5 hours minimum, typically longer because ADHD, only for me to be able to play maybe 3 songs before the cycle repeats. It’s *extremely* aggravating that the second I start to get in the rhythm of the game, I suddenly can’t play anymore. I understand that unlimited play is sold for in game currency but the in game currency is extremely difficult to earn and I’d rather spend it trying to unlock said boxes. And sure I could buy currency for real money, which I don’t have issue with, but I rather buy currency to get more songs or once again open boxes. Furthermore, the bonus 30 minutes unlimited play for buying songs isn’t worth it. I end up stressed about the time, while also losing focus on the song, ultimately not enjoying it. Change your focus. Offer free unlimited play losing out on earning cards/boxes and progress for the season pass event entirely. Whereas for coins you can keep your earnings while you play, as well as buy songs or unlock boxes as it is now. Maybe even offer a refresh on the daily bonus songs for a price. Very Good but Could be betterRecently picked up the game and enjoying it for what it is and I haven’t had any experience with this kind of phone game before. I think the game is overall very solid and fun but there’s a few things that feel anti-consumer and I really don’t get why there in place. The biggest offender being that you need to spend around 25 gems to have “unlimited” play which is just 30 minutes of being able to actually play the game again after receiving 3 cases. I really don’t understand the feature as it seems more beneficial to let consumers keep playing your game and there’s already a battle pass that you pay for, song deals, and daily rotations as well that you pay for. This game is very good and addictive and the song selection isn’t too bad, it just lacks a wide range but that understandable. The system for cases really just comes off the wrong way and feels like a slap in the face every time it happens and I’d be completely fine with just being locked at three cases but getting to at least play or tick down the timer on the case, just something then “well I can’t play songs anymore and have to wait 3 hours”. I really hope this gets addressed in someway because it really feels like the game is stacked with a bit too much forceful micro transactions as every other mobile game is. It has potentialThis is a great game, great mechanics, the beats are in sync with the songs, it’s fun and enjoyable despite being a simplistic idea, it’s executes it in a way where there’s plenty to do. However, it is only like this the first few hours of having the game downloaded. You get to a point where the spaces at the bottom with chests you get from playing are full to the maximum of 3 chests and you can’t play. Unless you spend $5 for unlimited play, or watch an ad, you can not play consistently at all. I expected this game, as well as it was played off to be, jam packed with fun, exciting good quality game, and it was! That is until it attempted to milk me of money. Because it is such a well executed game, the developers think they can get away with milking their consumers of money because how much we like the game. I don’t understand why the developers would take a game like this, a game with such good potential, and decide to take advantage of the players by basically saying, “hey if you don’t pay us $5 a week you won’t be able to consistently play our game we obviously put a lot of effort and time on and would make plenty of money off anyway!” Nope, the fact it only lasts for a week is even worse, and it’s $5! A few glitches/problemsI’m just going to say that I love this game, and it is one of my top favorite phone games to play. But, while playing the game me and my friends have experienced some glitches while playing songs. The first glitch, is whenever it registers a Perfect+/Perfect as a great. Now, yes, sometimes this is the players fault, but there have been times where it most obviously is not because the players finger taped the tile right as it was on the perfect bar. This gets a little annoying, but my friends and I can live through it. The main issue I experience with normally hard and extreme songs, is that it doesn’t register my finger when it taps and then I miss a tile. This gets extremely annoying and frustrating after a while, because I personally don’t want to spend gems on reviving myself when it’s just going to happen again in the game. The last thing that I’ve experienced is that a couple of months ago now, I bought the unlimited play for a week, but it only lasted for about 5-6 days. I personally hate spending money on a game, so this personally made me really annoyed. Of course I got over it, because it was only 5 dollars but I would have liked to get all that I payed for. Other than these 3 things that maybe are just for me, the game is very well made and fun. I would recommend buying, but I would like the game to get fixed. Forced Fail MechanicI’ve been playing guitar hero and games like it for years on top of getting a degree in music. I’m not bragging at all but I swear after doing well for a decent period or getting consecutive diamond ranks on songs something makes you fail or mess up. For instance tonight 4/27 it said I failed to swipe a note and it wasn’t even close to the tap/play/hit area and my fingers weren’t close enough to the screen to register a tap. It’s obnoxious to “miss” a note or not get perfect plus when you know you hit it. (I’m not saying I’m perfect at this game) but there are obvious times when you can tell you’re on beat or with the lyrics and you miss or not get perfect plus. Aside from that I really enjoy this game. A few recommendations, there needs to be a song recycle option so you could play songs you actually enjoy listening to. I know there’s probably licensing issues there. A few more modes would be nice and a multiplayer that’s not just beating ranks though I don’t know how simple that’d be on a phone system. Love-Hate RelationshipI absolutely love this game and despise it at the same time. It's really good, probably one of the best games i'm able to play with my friends. But there's a few issues that get in the way and are very frustrating. 1- There's a bug that hasn't been fixed for a very long time yet every week they have an update for bug fixes, and the one very annoying bug they haven't fixed is sometimes you tap, and it registers late and you get a great or in rare cases a "late tap", or it doesn't register at all and you have to either spend gems to continue the song or restart the song. that gets very frustrating when you're doing very good in a song, any song, easy, hard, or extreme. 2- the amount of time it takes to unlock a song is boring and takes forever. i have about 50 songs and almost 40 of them are Diamond. you can't get a better medal than diamond, so I'm running out of songs to play to try and unlock a box and then eventually a song. they need to come out with a rare case where you can unlock a whole genre case, but it takes 24 hours to unlock, I'd rather do that than wait 100 hours to finally unlock a song that took me 20 different cases to unlock. Don't get me wrong tho, this game is pretty freaking great and deserves 5 stars, but the bugs and the amount of time it takes to unlock new songs just makes you want to stop playing after getting to a certain point..AmyjenniferVersion: 15.0.2.17746

Very good game, but could be betterI really like this game. The UI is super clean and feels good to navigate. The songs are great and there’s a good mix of genres. The only thing I don’t enjoy is the arrow keys. This game should be all about Rhythm and flow, but the arrows ruin that. First off, there should be different colors for each arrow direction cus when your playing a fast song they all pretty much blend together. Also they usually just feel unnatural to swipe a certain way randomly when your doing great with the regular taps. It just seems like an unnecessary addition to increase the difficulty. If they want to make it harder then just add more keys faster to go along with the beat like they would in the classic Guitar hero’s. It sounds dumb to copy them, but it’s been the best music game for like 15 years for a reason. Also a lot of people who play these games are perfectionists and want a perfect score which means they restart when they get a key wrong. The way to restart a song is way too long. You have to quit the song and wait till you get all your stars and start the whole process over. There should be a dedicated restart button when you pause the song. Besides those things it’s a fun challenging game and they have features to not make it seem stale after a while. One of the best rhythm games I’ve ever played BUT…..This is by far one of the best rhythm games I’ve ever played. The level actually get difficult and the songs are really well known and good. There is a very steep learning curve going from normal to hard difficulty but it’s fun to replay songs and get better each time. There is one huge draw back however. As you play levels you get points, these points unlock crates. Most crates take 1.5 hours to open and at the end you get a new song or cards towards a new song. This is a good system HOWEVER you can only have three crates at once. And unlike other games with this system, you can ONLY have these three crates. If you fill up all of your slots you can’t play for AN HOUR AND A HALF. Once you’re done waiting you have another five minutes of play time until you have to wait again. This gets even worse if you have to unlock a FIVE HOUR CRATE. This basically forces you to spend gems and thus money if you want to play the game for more than a few minutes. If it wasn’t for this feature I would give the gave all 5 stars and write it down as one of the best mobile games I’ve played by far, however with this feature, all the fun is taken out of it. I hope and pray the developers will allow you to play with full crates but I have a feeling there is too much money to be made. BugsI love this app because the music is diverse and the gameplay is awesome. The visual asthmatics for the songs are really cool as well and the competition with friends adds to the appeal. It’s a great app but I am kicked off the app at least once an hour. If I’m not being kicked off, the keys will lag and mess up my gameplay. Just making it so I wasn’t kicked off every hour would make this a 5 star game. I don’t even know how many gems I’ve wasted on songs I never finished because the app felt like shutting down. Had the game for months so I’d wager close to 500. If y’all are tracking this bug already I hope you find a fix soon. If not, I’d be more than happy to give you more specifics if you want to reach out. Thanks for the app, you guys are awesome! Suggestion for gameplay: I think things like high scores on songs should be rewarded. It doesn’t have to be much either, like 5 gems or something, for getting gold and maybe increase with each medal. Or maybe a bit less than 5 considering the number of songs available. Still though, a song box with a single song costs 150 gems and diamonds aren’t super easy to get. Another idea might be to include some unlimited play, at least 24 hours, with the season pass. FanI really love this game, there are very few bugs, it runs really smoothly, and it’s overall very addicting and fun. I have a few song request that would be greatly appreciated if the devs considered. These are just good songs that would be fun to play and a great addition to the game. -Even Flow, Pearl Jam. This is a song that is fast paced at some parts, and at others very smooth and catchy. It would be a very fun as a hard level, and would be incredibly fun. -Monkey Wrench, Foo Fighters. This is a very fast song that includes speed drumming and fast singing. It was would be and incredibly challenging extreme level, and could take the place of “Give me chocolate” as the hardest level in the game. -Sun Flower, Post Malone. It is a very catchy and popular song. It would become very popular, especially with the new Spider-Man movie coming out soon. -Loser, Beck. This song includes many different fast paced parts and could include a variety of gameplay. It would be a great hard leveled song, and would be very fun. I seriously doubt that these ideas will be considered and even seen by the developers. However I feel that these would be great songs in the game, and that if a developer is to see this, they should listen to the songs, and give them a chance. I’m having issuesI absolutely love this game! My friend started playing it, and she’s also addicted. However, I have a few concerns that I’ve noticed since I’ve been playing for about a week. First, I noticed someone else pointed this out. I bought unlimited plays and have been striving to get every song under a gold metal. I’ve noticed sometimes when I play it will give me the yellow instead of green when I know I am tapping on the perfect bar. I have also noticed it is VERY hard to distinguish between “perfect” and “perfect+” which makes it difficult to surpass your last high score. It all rides on if you have perfect+ or not. Also, I know every song is a different speed and length, but some songs I’ve found harder to get high scores on due to the lack of pace. I don’t get nearly as many 200 streaks on them, causing my score to not be enough. I’ve also noticed when I didn’t get every note perfect, I got a decent score. I’ll play again and get a perfect on every note and still get a smaller score than when I didn’t hit every note. Lastly, I woke up this morning and played a bit. I went back to bed and woke up to play, and my app is NOT loading. I’ve tested my service and it’s working. My other games are working, but BeatStar won’t load. Kinda annoyingI love this game. but i hate the fact that i have to watch an ad to play any song. even to redo a song. even if i fail at a song within like 10 seconds. i understand that i can pay gems to play whatever i want for 30 minutes, but i know that’s just a way for the app developers to grab money from players since gems are very difficult to earn. because of that, i have to resort to watching an ad every. single. time. i wouldn’t care as much about this if the ads didn’t become unavailable after a little while. then i have no choice but to use gems, or just stop playing overall. developers, you should at least make it to where for each ad you watch you get anywhere from 10-15 mins of unlimited play. so that way, you guys can still have the premium option where players can still pay money to play, but let those of us who are broke and have no money still be able to enjoy the game without being forced to stop, or having to endure more ads than we play the game itself. UPDATE: now, there’s an ad i’m getting that is glitched and ends on a black screen with no way to exit out of it without swiping out of the app, which then counts as an ad watched but doesn’t count towards me playing a song. so i end up with only half the “extra” chances to play a song while full on the cases. Good game +IssuesThis game is really good I really enjoy playing it especially playing challenges with my brother. But, there are some issues that tend to be very annoying. 1. Sometimes when I play a song, the music just stops and then comes back after a few seconds. This causes me to lose points since the music is the best part (My opinion 😅). 2. This is kind of like the first one I guess but when I play a song, it just lags me out of the game and refreshes the app. It gets annoying especially if I have a really good score. Okay so this isn't really an issue but maybe a suggestion? I feel like you should add more boxes other than 3 because I don't really want to pay to have unlimited trials. Maybe add like 5 boxes. Or, every level or so, you can earn 1 box which will add up to your 3 boxes. I just think its kind of unfair because after a little while you have to start watching ads in order to play. Then if you watch ads, its not going to be available for a while. Yes I know you can pay diamonds and yes I did that when I first started the game because Im impatient but sometimes I don’t have enough diamonds or Im saving up for something. Feels AMAZING to play, just some small suggestionsI’ve been playing this for around a month now and it is definitely by far the best executed rhythm game I’ve seen that uses copyrighted songs. The levels feel really smooth and the animations/vfx are great. One thing that I want to suggest would be to show the note grade breakdown along with your high score on the main page. Right now, each level only shows your highest score. The note breakdown (number of Perfect+, Perfect, Great) only appears after you play a level. This is a very minor request but as someone who is trying to perfect all the levels I think it would be helpful to see it. I was thinking that maybe the user could tap the high score number on the main page of each level and it would switch to show the note breakdown of that run, and then tapping it again would switch it back to the high score. My other suggestion is that I don’t think the boxes you purchase for 149 should be random, I think you should be able to select a song from that. But honestly I don’t really care I just think it would make them a worthier purchase, maybe raise the price but make it not random? Good but not great.I’d like to start off by saying this game is amazing. They made the game look absolutely incredible. It runs extremely smooth and is packed to the brim full of great songs. Now you’re probably wondering why I gave this great game only 3 stars? Now that the liked things are out of the way, I want to talk about the things I disliked. First off, I haven’t noticed anyways to gain gems, other than getting the daily free 5 or watching an ad to gain another 5. At first site this game seems like you’d barely see any ads, right? Wrong. After you play this game for just a couple hours, you will gain 3 music chests and ultimately fill up your chests slots. PowerCell did a great job of hiding ads within this beautiful game. Now once your 3 chests slot are filled up, you can no longer play any songs for the duration of the chests opening. HOWEVER, you CAN still play any song you have unlocked IF you watch an ad. Now you do have to do this for every song you want to play, unless you pay the cheap and REASONABLE price of $5!! Yes, you heard me correctly, if you pay only $5, you can play this game freely. Now for many, this may be a price they’re willing to pay for a decent game like BeatStar, but personally I wouldn’t like to pay $5 to get rid of these annoying ads. I thought better if itI initially really enjoyed this game… for about an hour. After that, you had to watch an ad to play each song ONCE. If you failed, another ad, different song, another ad. It is too much. So because I was having fun I bought a $15 package that came with a song and some extra diamonds. When I went to play a song again, I had to continue to watch ads. I figured paying $15 would at least allow me to play what I just bought, BUT NOPE. After realizing this I reached out to support and waited 3 DAYS for a response only for them to say, nope, we don’t offer refund and basically said to read the items in the box better. Honestly I am extremely disappointed and as much as I really was enjoying this game now I just feel like I have to keep it to get any worth out of my purchase. This is the best music tiles game but there’s a catch.I have played many games like this one but this is top notch. I have been playing this game on the iPhone 14 Pro Max and the graphics, visuals, and sounds are stunning. The music is crisp and the choices are amazing. The colors when you play a song gets progressively more vibrant and interesting as you play the song and it’s a cool feature that adds an extra layer to the good music. There is a couple things that I am not a fan of. You cannot play more music because there are too many boxes to open and it takes at least three hours to open the most basic one. It would be fine if they required more points to achieve or if you could continue to play music and just deal with the consequence of not getting more boxes when playing the song. Either would be fine for me and that’s my main complaint. The last and not as important complaint is the country music choice. Has potential to be the best beat game of all timeLet me start off by saying that I am a huge fan of beat-based games and am also under no delusion that Supercell is trying to make some money by keeping certain features locked. I think Supercell as a production company actually does a really fantastic job of making their games playable without having to shell out extra cash to keep advancing unless you really want to. Good but…Alright this is a fun game but I have to address something that doesn’t make sense to me. You have a bunch of hit artists but you don’t have their biggest hits. Nirvana and Juice WRLD are the first ones that come to mind. You have lithium for nirvana which, don’t get me wrong, is a big hit, but you chose to add nirvana but you didn’t add smells like teen spirit or heart shaped box, which is a couple of their biggest hits on their own respective albums. Skip options!The gameplay and song choices are great! You also don’t get ads every five seconds! And the fact that I get a new song fairly quickly, is great! The different buttons and pressing mechanisms are good, too! They add variety and keep you on your toes! The ONLY downfall is the skip option when you fail the level. It doesn’t exist. If you fail, you get the option to wait 5 seconds to just retry, or you can just pay a certain amount of diamonds to resume and try again. Now, 5 seconds isn’t that long. But when you’re playing a hard level and you’ve already failed 15 times and you want to go again and don’t have the diamonds to pay up, IT GETS VERY ANNOYING. Needless to say, I gave up quickly. Not because I was mad at the failing. But because I was so angry to wait when I could skip and just retry quicker from the beginning! Good game overallThis game looks beautiful and is really satisfying to play, but just a few things here. I realize since there are no ads the monetization model is more geared toward in-app purchases and therefore gameplay is constrained in ways (like limiting amount of game time) that it rewards players for buying stuff. But when you reach higher levels it really starts to negatively affect the experience because it gets so hard to unlock new songs and it wouldn’t be a huge deal if song replay-ability were a bit better. Another thing is with this is having to pay with gems to continue if you mess up, which is fine and makes sense, but gives limits your ability to get better because you there’s no way to practice songs at all… creating a practice mode that makes songs unloseable while not being allowed to reap any rewards and still fill up song cases would be a good tradeoff imo. Beatstar is single-handedly becoming the greatest App Store game. Here’s why:Just over a year ago, I stumbled across this game called Beatstar. While it caught my eye as a piano tiles rip off, I downloaded the game anyways after seeing that it was developed by Supercell, the team behind Clash of Clans/Clash Royale. Supercell’s record is near perfect, and this installment is a testament to that. For hours a week for the past year, I have opened this app to joyously tap away at my screen to the perfectly-synced beats of my favorite songs, which range from Green Day, to Dua Lipa, and even Bring me the Horizon. Yes, there is a pay element in the form of a monthly “battle pass”, for 9.99USD per pass. As someone who is ranked top 50 in USA in this game, I believe my opinion is valid when I say this pass is WORTH IT. The pass will net you 9 exclusive songs, with the potential to unlock at least 10 more via Song Boxes. Great Game with Minor InconveniencesFirst off, let me just say that this game is great. It isn’t like the other tap to play music games where there isn’t even the same singers and ads every round. With Beatstar, you get to choose to watch an ad for rewards, and the songs are always the original versions. However, there are a few issues. On of the main ones is how once you fill up the points to open a box, you are not allowed to play until the box is open (About 3-5 hours). As someone who personally dives headfirst into games and will play for hours on end, this bothered me. However, I would say that the great graphics and music can somewhat make up for this. Another thing that makes me a little weary is the amount of micro transactions that the developers present to you the second you get in the game. Obviously the devs have to make money somehow, but it gets a little annoying having to click out of “30% off spring song box! But now!” Every time I enter the game. Not Enough Older, More Popular Artists & Songs!!I enjoy playing this game very much I’m not crazy about spending money for no commercials or opening boxes so I can play straight through, but every game has a gimmick and that is Beatstars. Fun game, good mechanics, classic lookWhat immediately sets this game apart from the rest is its unobtrusive ads. I’m the kind of player who will delete an app if an ad shows up unprompted. The song selection is appropriately moderate with a box reward system that manages to work in the game’s favor. The vibration is a nice feature and the audio sync calibration setting is thoughtful. The beats show up in one of three lines which might seem underwhelming, but this is in fact the most effective use of the tap mechanic. We only have two thumbs! Something I might consider for the game’s improvement would be an option to adjust the location of the ‘perfect’ line as some people hold their devices comfortably in slightly different locations, especially given the variety of sizes and models being used to play. Also adding a practice mode where players can begin on a select stage of a song might improve the experience, especially for players who find this game challenging; currently stages are all consecutive, so trying to improve on the more difficult stages requires a great deal of replaying through parts we’ve already nailed. BIG BUGSo let me start off by saying I absolutely adore this game! It's one of the best rhythm games on the market that includes actual songs that you might have in your playlist rather than a generic tune. I've been playing it for a couple months now and have gotten pretty far and gotten better. This is incredibly frustrating if you have a series of double taps and the note just cruises on by right under your thumb, leaving you dumbfounded on if you tapped it or not. It does not only happen on fast songs such as extreme or hard though, I've also witnessed it on incredibly slow easy songs where there is no way I could have missed it when my thumb is right ontop of it. Amazing game but could be a bit betterOk first off I’m not into that many games on my phone. I think I have maybe 2 and I play them sporadically. My daughter actually found this one and showed it to me because I was a huge fan of Guitar Hero. So naturally I downloaded it and took to it like a fish to water. Amazing exceptLike everyone has stated this game is great with the exception of a few things. Read previous reviews to see what. Now with that being the one main issue I have is when I play the game I clearly have touched the note/bar and it misses the note/bar entirely! Even on the long notes you have to keep pressed. My finger is down and it just keep going on missing all the notes/bars entirely. I hope this gets fixed and that me and my spouse aren’t the only ones with this issue. Fun but annoyingOne of the best rhythm games out there. Seriously. Which is why it’s so disappointing that they put in that stupid timed case opening mechanic that every greedy iPhone game had about 5-7 years ago, where you can spend gems (purchased with real money, of course, or drip-fed through daily/ad rewards) to skip wait timers. I thought for sure we’d moved past that mechanic, but I guess not. I want so badly to recommend this game to people, but the steep drop off in enjoyable content keeps that from happening. Fun Game Ruined by MicrotransactionsNothing makes me delete a game faster than being forced into spending money on loot boxes and in game currency. The TL;DR - avoid this game until they make changes to their loot box system. The insta-death after missing one note is annoying, but it’s not game breaking. Great gameplay for a few minutesLet me start by saying the gameplay is challenging and engaging, especially on hard and extreme difficulty with a great song selection giving a variety of genres and hit songs. Unfortunately that’s where the fun stops. If I fail a song enough times (whether it’s genuinely challenging or I’m trying to get a high score) it fills up the chest meter which I’m all for BUT when you fill up on the 3 chests you can receive you can no longer play the game without shelling out $5 for a week for unlimited play. Supercell has done a great job making my money feel worth what I’m getting but for beatstar it feels like I’m being taken advantage of. Since I like your game so I have to give 5 bucks a week in order to play as consistently as I would like? Really fun game but please treat those of us who want to play your game like you want us to continue playing. I opened the game for the first time in a few weeks because every time I open the app I have 2 chests already and After a few tries/songs that’s it. Then it’s back to forgetting about it since I barely got to play in the first place. Unlimited play should be free considering it’s tough enough unlocking new songs without all the restrictions. This game is very Pay To WinThe game overall is very fun. there are a couple of songs that DO NOT match up with the beats. which make it very hard to get max rating on it/diamond rating. i’ve gotten so much better at the game, ever since i started it’s all about repetition. what bothers me is that it takes 350 points to unlock a case. a complete of a song is 150 points and you can have 3 cases at a time. so by playing 9 songs you fill up on cases and can no longer play songs (unless you pay with gems or money). the worst part is cases take either 3 hours to unlock or 5 hours. the cases reward you with cards. at first the song cases only take 5 cards to unlock but as you go along they get up to 30 cards needed to unlock. the 3 hour cases give you about 3 cards and the 5 hour cases give you about 5. so it takes many days to unlock a single case. i’ve been playing this game for about a month and i have about 60 out of 300+ songs. one person took an entire year to get all the songs. it would be different if the cases took 30 minuites or an hour, but you have to wait the time or spend gems(money). this game is cool for what it is but i’m sick of playing the same songs over and over and over and gaining no real reward for doing well on them (getting gold, platinum, or diamond doesn’t give you an rewards and doesn’t effect the case progression). if you want to play with game 9 times a day only then go for it. but i wish i wouldn’t have wasted my time :/.KoledadVersion: 22.0.4.22122

Wanted to love it.The game itself is super fun and there’s a lot of great music. My issue is as with most games too many paywalls. I was content to play the free version and watch ads but you have to watch ridiculously long ads and then suddenly you can’t play songs on gore and the game tries to sell you premium. However it never tells you when you run out of plays. At least not that I can find. I’ll be playing then suddenly I have no more plays with no visual representation of why. No way to get any free diamonds or whatever they’re called, they are purchase only so you end up with unlocked chests you can’t open. Great game but easily the worst monetization tactics I have ever seenThis game is great at being Rhythm game, it feels good, looks good, and is fun. The problem is they do every possible thing in their power to prevent you from playing their game. There is a chest system similar to Clash Royale that you get a chest after completely a certain amount of games that unlocks different songs. The problem is, if your chests fill up all 3 given chest spaces. You are not allowed to play anymore songs. This further becomes a problem when you realize the fastest chest charge time is 3 hours. This makes it so you basically are just stuck in a loop of every playing a few songs then having to wait at least 3 hours and then playing and so on and so forth. I genuinely want to spend my time playing the game even if I dont get rewards from it but they deny that. The only work around is to either watch an add for one try on one song, 25 gems (hard to come by) for 30 minites unlimited, or paying a whopping $20 a month ($5 a week). There is no permanent option and barely anything else to do in the game other than play the songs that you cant play for 90% of the time. The worst part is there are no exceptions. Great potential but unplayableI’ve been playing this game for a few months now, and while it has potential to be a great game I have a few issues with it. My biggest issue is the lack of bug fixes. The game is jam packed with lag issues, timing issues, and input issues, which makes pushing for score improvements a nightmare given the brutal accuracy judgement system. The devs have been pumping out new songs, some of which are free which is nice, but struggle to maintain the functionality of the game for the entirety of its player base. The leaderboard system is a great way to test you skill and see how to match up against other players… except this leaderboard favors purchasing songs to improve rankings as it’s based on cumulative score. This would be fine for someone properly motivated and had the means to purchase the songs, however there are also multiple songs that have been vaulted and not rereleased. So if your intentions are to get on that leaderboard you’ll be at least another 4 months and couple hundred dollars away from even having enough songs to do so. I’ve been avoiding spending money to unlock these songs as I’m not even able to finish most songs due to random input errors. But because I have still spent some money on it I can’t bring myself to delete it. A lot of flaws ruin the gameThis game has some fun gameplay. Beatstar, gameplay wise, is probably my favorite rhythm game generally, it has a lot of fun times. The monetization is egregious but I kind of expect that out of most mobile games at this point unfortunately, so the bar isn't that high. That said, being hard barred from playing the game because you have to wait 3-5 hours before getting to play again. Now here's where the biggest flaw comes in: the ADS! This is a free-to-play game, so obviously making money somehow is fine. but if you have all 3 boxes waiting to be unlocked, you can pay approximately 35 gems to unlock one chest, or watch a 30-second ad to play a song over ONCE. Mind you, you only get 10 free gems a day; 5 gems for free, and then 5 more if you watch a 30 second, unskippable ad. And that was already annoying, having to watch that many ads just to play the game. But recently, they added more ads, so almost every time you finish a map - REGARDLESS of if you failed or completed it - you get an ad right after. So on top of watching multiple ads a day in this game, if you're hooked on it, now you have to deal with even more interruptions, tenfold. I’m not payingGreat app! I love killing time w this, but it’s kinda hard to do so once you get to that “pay to play” point. "What if Tap Tap Revenge was a predatory gacha game?"I am a big fan of rhythm games and have fond memories of playing various iterations of Tap Tap Revenge on my early iPod Touch. This game is very much in the same vein as it, and is incredibly well-polished and a lot of fun to play --- when the game lets you. Instead of selling you a full game and songs for a few dollars, you can buy some gems to randomly unlock a song which you can only play until your case slots, which are how you collect increasing numbers of pieces to unlock more songs, are full and then you must wait for 3+ hours or spend real money to open them and keep playing. The song selection is great, the controls feel responsive, and it's a lot of fun to try to go for a new high score and increase your star ratings. It's just such a shame that the progression system aggressively doesn't want you to play the game for more than a few minutes every few hours unless you pay money. The latest changelog announces a plan to allow unlimited play but there are no details released at time of writing and I don't have high hopes that it will be reasonably priced, as this system is clearly designed to extract as much money as possible from players. An amazing game but..I love this game a lot and love my time with it so far, all the songs are great and the gameplay is very nice and easy. My only gripe is just that the battle pass is $15, which I think is very over priced especially when they put amazing songs behind such a heavy pay wall. I used to love this game/not so fun anymoreWhen I first got this game I was stoked. Finally a game that was something like guitar hero but for your phone. I played all the time getting the unlimited play for a week until one day I unlocked all the songs and then I had automatic unlimited play! That was the best feature of the game because I could play and improve my scores and not be confined to unlocking boxes every three-5 hours to play again because playing one song 3 times fills up a box and then you have to wait…..hours. Makes it really hard to practice and improve. Anyway I finally unlocked unlimited play for all my songs and then they dropped the Deluxe version of songs. I lost unlimited play because songs I already had now had a different version or way to play them. The worst is that they dropped 16 new versions at one time and each deluxe version of a song takes 100 cards to fill the box to get a new one. So I quit playing and quit telling my friends about it. Small glitchesI really do enjoy playing this game, but it’s becoming unplayable. I loved rockband and guitar hero growing up and this is kinda similar. My biggest issue and real annoyance with the game are the glitches. I was just playing a song, mid song my phone/song froze up for a second and it made me miss the notes and failed me out of the song. The other issues I’ve had are similar to that, sometimes I press too lightly(?) on the buttons and it doesn’t register and then fails me out of the song. Other times I clearly tapped the button but it doesn’t register that I did, I’ve changed the pressure of the taps as well and it hasn’t made any difference. Every update makes the game worseI downloaded Beatstar in the first half of 2021 and it was a joy to play. Interesting song choices, decent playing calibration, and the opportunity to go up against other players in venues/events. The update in mid-2021 eliminated venues, which I thought was a very poor choice. Created much less incentive to play since there were fewer opportunities to level up. My theory was that it was removed to make obtaining cards/songs more difficult, and thought that was shady. But I wasn’t that surprised. After this update I lost most of my enthusiasm for playing. It wasn’t until some friends recently downloaded the game that I decided to pick it up again. I had to update the app — only to see that the game has capped how much you can play, unless you pay (or play lengthy ads before EVERY song, and even THEN it’s capped)! I am STUNNED by this update. Not only is it greedy, it removes any chance of practicing songs in order to improve your score. Whose decision was this? EVERY update I’ve seen on this game made it WORSE, not better. Increasingly pay-to-playThis game started out great. However, as per the title, this game is becoming far more focused on pay-to-play. I use this because there's no "pay to win" since the game doesn't have a focused sense of winning. Events are constantly locked if you don't own the song, which if you aren't willing to watch ads or spend money, you won't unlock. Even then, it's a chance you'll get whatever song is in the event. You can buy the song, but unless you save up the tiny amount of in-game currency you can get, you have to spend money to buy the gems to buy the song. Soloution? Make the songs available for ALL players for the event. Which is two plays of the song. Stop hosting events that your players can't even access. This turns off new players from your content, and irritates everyone else. The other issue is the tour pass. I have watched it go from level 7 to unlock a song, to 13, to 30, to now you have to pay in order to get a song from the tour pass. For those not paying, the tour pass mini events are really not worth focusing on. On top of that, you're locked into how many songs you can play per day for "free". Technically it is free regardless, but after you fill your boxes and you can't collect more, you're locked out of playing without watching a mandatory ad. Can’t play a lot of the best songs anymoreNow that a failed tap or swipe stops the entire song it feels more frustrating than satisfying. I used to play along to my favourite songs no matter how difficult it was to get perfect cause it was fun to tap along, now I can’t play past the first 2 stages of some of my favourites. I bought gems to spend on songs I didn’t have yet not to revive myself cause I missed a note. There’s a reason why pay to play places like arcade rooms have been on the decline. Perfect game ruined by long forced delay of play3 boxes unlocking and we cannot play anything. This is ruining the entire game. Used to Love this gameThis was my favourite ‘piano keys’ type game and I used to play it all the time. I didn’t mind the fact that you only had three slots and had to wait a certain amount of time for them to open cause I understand that the developers needs to make money some way. But recently I feel ripped off by this game. The ad said it cost $13.99 to have a season’s pass, thought that wasn’t too bad and purchased, instantly get a charge on my card for $29.00, which didn’t seem right but with no way to dispute it, I figured maybe it’s because of exchange rate and taxes, I live in Canada, still seems a too high and not really worth it to me anymore but try to enjoy my season pass anyway. Except halfway through the pass, I’m told I have no more new songs to play, so all the boxes with cards which are most of the prizes now can’t be opened, and yet you can still buy songs. In fact every time I open the app I’m prompted to buy more songs. Yet you have none left for my chest cards to go towards. It’s really frustrating. I don’t think you should be allowed to sell a perk knowing there’s a good chance that perk eventually won’t work for the buyer. Started strong but fell short.When I first got this game it was apparent that they encourage players to start buying tracks to play but they’ll support players for a bit that play for free. It started out fun but after I got 28 songs done, almost every time I try a new song it is not registering certain notes, almost as if it would work better if I paid for it.
