Great story and game!!Thank you devs for this amazing game! I could not put my iPad down I would stay up to play this. There were no ads, the game took actual effort, the mini games were challenging but enjoyable, the puzzles were challenging but enjoyable as well. The cut scenes were so good. Man this exceeded my expectations so much and it’s free! The story with the mafia and the kids was amazing then the bonus content was fun too I thought it would be a short tease of the next game but it wasn’t it was its own full side quest, loved it! Great story & graphics but puzzles too easyI have absolutely loved FIVE-BN STUDIOs games. I played all the Lost Lands (my favorite games!), Legendary Tales (my second favorite), and Darkness & Flame (my third fave). When I was finished with those, I was excited to play more games from the company but the others (New York Mystery & Legacy ones) haven’t lived up to Lost Lands or Legendary Tales. They have the same large map area where you go back to previous areas to finish things and great graphics, but the puzzles are WAY TOO EASY. For one, there are a bunch of puzzles where you just match 2 images (turn the blocks over & match the images). That’s fine for 1 puzzle but there were quite a few like that in these New York Mysteries and Legacy ones. For two, a lot of the puzzles just take no effort. For example, there were a few puzzles where you had to put the lines all in the center and I had just started moving 2 of them and BOOM, it was finished. I thought, well that was lucky. But it happened again just the same on other puzzles. If you don’t have to put any effort in and think about it, it’s not really fun IMHO. These are fine for someone who thinks the other games are hard or maybe just starting off with games like this. But, if you’re like me and have played a ton of games like these, I don’t think you’d find the puzzles very fun. The story and graphics are great though..OneWhisper44Version: 1.1.4

Love New York Mysteries, hate the “buy coins” conThis series of games is one of the best but I am giving it 3 stars because of the fact that the Hint and Skip don’t work unless you have coins. You start with 5 and if you are a really smart gamer that’s fine. But for less experienced players, it’s a problem. Some puzzles are just so repetitive and frustrating that I end up wanting to skip them but the game demands 10 coins to do that. Yes, you can get 30 coins for $2.99 but it’s the principle of the thing. I’m not a miser but I don’t feel like paying more for a game I already purchased. The game allows you to watch an ad to get a coin but cuts you off after four, essentially trying to force you to buy coins. No other games like this have monetized their hints/skips this way. I have no idea why the developers chose to do this but if they need more money, just charge more for the game in the first place..MareschultzVersion: 1.1.5

Highly RecommendAbsolutely love this games and other games from this developer. The games are engaging, difficult at times which I like, but there’s also easy puzzles too. I really like how they tell the story to you as you go along. I prefer that vs reading the story. I get more out of how immersive the animated story telling is. I’ve done all 5 of this series they were that good. You don’t need to do in order but I recommend. Also, no silly ads that interrupt the story. You get 5 hints and then you’re off to play. Absolutely the best so far puzzle gamesI have done the New York Mysteries 1-4 and am now on Lost Lands 1. For the last New York Mysteries, I bought their $6.99 version. I didn’t have to bother with paying for hints as I got stuck. Only on the 2nd Mysteries was I able to complete the whole thing with just a few hints. It is well worth it to me to pay for the paid versions. These games are well done and recommend them. Their website shows many of these games they have made. Great game, high qualityThis game was fantastic! One of the best actual free to play point & click games on the app store, I think it even compares to paid varieties. I played it for an hour or so a few nights in a row before I finished it, so not super short! The variety of puzzles were great, not too hard but still made you think. The story was original. SolidThis game is solid. Great graphics, nice to have snippets of video when interacting with characters, love that you have to figure out what to do next and how to use the items that you find. Wasn’t too puzzle heavy, but definitely had enough to complete. The storyline is the only thing that I’m wary of; the plot has the promise of being a good story line, but clarity of what is happening overall and the conclusion could be way better. Honestly I still don’t really understand what the story was about or why certain things were happening (unconscious mafia & green slime??). Overall worth the play for sure! Great game!Another great one...especially for a F2P game. I’ve liked most of their games. Some of their paid games are kind of expensive. So it’s really nice that they put out some F2P games to kind of balance it out. Especially when the F2P games are the same quality as the paid games. Definitely made me want to check out their paid games too. Good strategy, I guess. My only complaint with this one is that the hint button is so close to the map button. Why can’t it be one time purchase??The game was challenging and would have been enjoyable to play with my kids; I find the never ending paying for hints incredibly annoying and at this point unaffordable. I’m only at 65% done and I’m sure I’ve spend over $30 for tokens. I’d rather pay more at the outset, say $9.99 -and then have unlimited hints. As it is I won’t be finishing this game or purchasing any of the other NY series - and it has nothing to do with game quality, which is absolutely great. Must play!Absolutely great puzzle adventure game. Long storyline with good graphics. Puzzles are not too easy. I was able to play entire game without and hints or skipping. Love it!This game is amazing. Great graphics and story line. Challenging but not impossible puzzles. The only changes I would suggest is labeling the map rather than just small photos and making it possible to reset a mini game after starting it. I struggled with one (the fish rotation one) and just kept messing it up worse and worse. It would have been nice to reset it and start from the beginning once I had a handle on how things moved. Love the game but...I really do enjoy the game. It’s a great story line. The graphics are great. I’m just having an issue with the Mosaic puzzle before you reach the docks in the subway station. I know I have the configuration correct. Green on bottom red on top and every piece fits except when I go to place the last piece of the puzzle it won’t stay in place. The whole puzzle was several attempts at laying the puzzle pieces down several times before they would stay. Loved itI loved the game and especially the puzzles. Some puzzles are challenging which is okay and enjoyed. The only con is that once I find an object, I would have a hard time finding what to do next with the objects found. For example, the ghost lake part, I struggled a few times on where to tap the found object to what area. Like the diving suit. I had to use a few hints. I really enjoyed the game though. Colorblind8% of the population is colorblind. You should include a disclaimer that your game contains color related puzzles. Color related puzzles are impossible to solve when you’re colorblind. I gave this game five stars so that maybe other color blind people will see this before they play it for a few hours and run into a color related puzzle which affectively ends the game. A Point and Click GemI’ve been a fan of point and click adventure games for about twenty years and this game is fantastic. Just the level of detail that goes into the sound design and little animations for all the actions separates this from so many other mobile point and clicks. Even the hidden object sections are fun. During those scenes, most of the objects you pick up are needed to find other objects, which makes it feel more like a puzzle than a Where’s Waldo book. Great Game but….I do not like that you are unable to skip the mini puzzles. If you are not great at figuring out the mini puzzles, you end up being frustrated. One example is the “wires” mini puzzle. Great game!Liking it even more than Lost Lands (played 1 & 2). Like the female leads, too! Two issues: 1. On iPhone SE (new gen, iOS 16.5.1 (c)), is there any way I can play Spotify in the background instead of game volume? 2. Could just be me, but there seemed to be a bug in the top of boat game, or I did it in the wrong order, but I had to invest in coins to skip it because it wouldn’t let me put the wire on before the adjustment game came on. So worth it!I really enjoy the games from this studio, they are fun, have interesting story lines, great puzzles, interesting characters, and beautiful graphics. My only issue is that I’ve noticed that a couple of the games (this one included) have puzzles related to American history. They usually involve information that Americans learn in school but it also means that anyone who isn’t American properly won’t know the information. For example, *spoiler* this game has a puzzle that involved putting early to mid 1900s US presidents in chronological order. I’m Canadian so things like the history of America’s presidents isn’t taught in our schools. New York 1You New York 1 game is not offering the free hints with commercials. Your twisted game of using elasticized string to make an outline of a house is ridiculous….used all hints just there. Do not buy this!This game is simply a ploy to get you to buy hints. I’ve played many other games like this that are much better. I will not ever buy another game from this company and I don’t recommend anyone else does until they allow players to set the pace/level you want and provide hints free of charge that reload with time penalties rather than money. BTW - They might say to you that you can get money for hints free if you watch ads, but every time I try that, it gives me a pop-up saying “no appropriate ads to show at this time”.
