Good camera appI like this camera app. I’ve been using it for over a month. There a lot of features to play with. It has the capability of shooting like a DSLR. The focus peaking, zebra stripes and histogram are helpful when capturing images. However, I do find that images that I thought were in focus, sometimes aren’t, even when using the focus peaking feature. I also find that the images sometimes are either too dark or blown out even though they look fine on the screen. Also, sometimes the images aren’t as crisp as the native camera app either. They tend to have a softer appearance. It doesn’t seem to take macro photos like the native camera app. You could, if you had an external lens kit. I’m going to continue to use this app to see if I can get it to work better for me. I would love for this to be my go to app for photography. I think there’s potential for this app to keep improving and adding options, like video taking and an external shutter button support. Nice fit at a good priceTL;DR: Not as pretty as ProCamera and not as simple yet flexible as Halide, but a darn good fit right between the two. The low purchase price is a one-off and makes ReeFlex an incredible value. I’ve been using ProCamera since 2014, and Halide for almost a year. I was always intimidated by ProCamera’s multitude of settings and never felt like I was getting the most out of the app. I often reverted to the native iOS Camera app just for ease of use. Then I found Halide as part of a re-kindling of my photographic ambitions, and a new iPhone that could take advantage of it. Halide at first seemed like a perfect solution for me, until it wasn’t. Meanwhile, ProCamera revamped its UI, the settings seemed less daunting, and I started using it a lot more. Then, through a series of happy accidents, I found ReeFlex (and ReeXpose). ReeFlex is simple and flexible, and has an intuitive and pleasing UI. The image quality for RAW and ProRAW is on a par with ProCamera, and, I think, just a touch better than Halide. Plus, there is no subscription to commit to, no in-app purchases to make, and a really reasonable purchase price. I figure ReeFlex makes their money off of their lenses (which I don’t need at this time), so they can offer their app at a significant discount. The Best Camera App in the store!!!With the native app you can snap great photos and Apple has added some manual controls which is nice. BUT it’s got nothing on the Reeflex app, you have full manual control, oh and 98% of the app is FREE! The ONLY in-app purchase is $5-6 to unlock the long exposure feature. The UI is very easy to use and translatable to a DSLR. I picked up my sisters camera and was able to clack off a few nice pics. So if you’re like me and using your phone until you can purchase a real dedicated camera, Reeflex is the only photo capture app you need. Right off the rip you get focus peaking, zebra stripes and histogram. Pick which lens you want to use and select HEIF, Raw or ProRaw. Different grid options to compose your shots in creative ways. Flash and timer controls. I’m still blown away that all of that is free! Don’t feel silly and purchase other apps and then get sucked into more in app purchases. Manual settings not workI use manual control to set iso as 800 and shutter speed is 1/500. But the jpg photo’ exif data shows iso is 125 and shutter speed is 1/88. That is so bad since the reason that most of people buy camera app is because of this manual feature. Enjoyable to use, aside from some lag and crashingI like it a lot, overall. The UI is nicer than Halide. This is the most I’ve ever used a 3rd party camera app. I try to make it my go to camera app. The photos it takes don’t look quite so over processed like modern smartphones are doing. Hopefully future updates will address the crashing upon loading and random crashes, and lag when switching between camera modules. Functionality could be improved by making the picture review button load the last picture you took instead of the camera roll. As it is now, clicking the picture review button opens your camera roll so I can open any picture. Then going back one step goes back to the camera roll. I’d rather it function like the native camera app so I can immediately see the last shot taken and then immediately go back to the camera app. I dislike that it’s always a two step process each way to review the last shot and then go back to the camera..Podcast_commuterVersion: 1.5

Holy Moly!Last October (2022) I stepped up from a 12 year old flip phone to an iPhone 14 Pro Max. Now this app has turned my iPhone into a comparable monster with my Nikon DSLR. I have been using this app for a couple of months now and there is not one bad thing I can say about it. The remote control (30 ft range) for my iPhone also works well with this app. If you want total control of your iPhone camera (as in a DSLR mode) this is the only app you’ll want. You know you want it so what are you waiting for? Caveat: I recommend that you only use this app for shots that require longer exposures like moving water/waterfalls and clouds. I’ve read complaints about focusing issues and such so with that said, there is no need to use this app all the time/alone. Fantastic full camera control!What a great camera app! I normally don’t do reviews, but this app needs one. Fantastic full control of you iPhone camera. Can completely control your exposure triangle. From setting iso, to control of your shutter speed, it is in here. Focus peaking to get what you want as your depth of field. The best part I am having the most fun with is full control of shutter drag, from not only the 1-10 seconds the iPhone app does, but now you can go up to hours and beyond to full bulb mode. In bulb mode you have your choice of M mode for motion blur of cloud trails and smoothing water and L mode for light trails, star trails and light painting. Now working on iPhone 14 Pro MaxDid not work since the latest update. Shut down immediately after opening. Tried reinstalling the app, but same result. I contacted customer support about this issue. They responded immediately and Salvatore sent me an update via TestFlight. The first update failed, but with the crash report they received, the second update fixed the issue. This is a great app with great customer support. The problem was resolved within 4 hours of contacting support. Hats off to you folks. You are fantastic! Good Camera App, Awesome CompanyAfter using this app and enjoying it, I wanted to upgrade my photo taking abilities and purchase some of the company’s lenses. I ordered a case and the Pro Series Photo Bundle. There was a mix up with my order and I ended up receiving the Fish Eye lens. I emailed customer support and had the problem resolved within one day. Godsend Photography AppMy old Canon 40D is really on its last leg and I’ve since started using my iPhone for a ton of my pictures these days, however, long exposures are not it’s strong suit. That was until I found THIS app specifically. Being able to stretch the time out into multiples of minutes is truly wonderful and done with ease in this. Got it. It’s ok! Missing basics featuresA worthy contender, albeit missing some basic requirement such as on iPad, where orientation is wrong. For instance In landscape mode , getting portrait display. Also not using the full iPad screen estate. On iphone13pro can’t seem to use remote Bluetooth shutter, although on other Canera Apps the Bluetooth remote shutter works fine. I hope these can be fixed soon. Great app, could use an Apple watch shutter though.The app is great, it has the ability to reach right into every iPhone camera setting directly from the Home Screen. Doesn’t come with all featuresThe camera app was supposed to be free, however it is apparently paid now. I paid for it, and when I entered the app it still wants me to pay even more to get the long exposure modes. A Real HitReeflex is an amazing camera app, and the recent addition of Slow Shutter mode makes it even better. The Slow Shutter mode works like it should too because it gives you the ability to adjust the shutter speed to smoothen out the capture so you don’t get that “braided” look. As a guy who does a podcast about iPhone photography, I have a lot of camera apps on my iPhone, but Reeflex lives in my Home Row. Just use the native app on iPad…Bottom line, the native iPad Camera app pretty much does what it needs to do, so it seems senseless to mule ones way through an app that doesn’t really add much usable or valuable functionality, yes a few bells and whistles but they don’t add benefit to the native ability of the physical lens built into the devices being used. And besides, simple adjustments like landscape mode? Can’t find it and this is one adjustment that should be easily found as so many picture takers would use landscape mode. I’d be stuck taking pics in portrait mode? I tried to compare picture quality output of this app to the native app and, yup surprisingly, no difference in resolution, or overall picture quality, this assuming exposure and focus are correct in the app(s) being used..RonDycksVersion: 1.4

No 2x ZoomThe Reeflex app on the iPhone 14 Pro Max does not appear to support the 2x zoom as does the Native iPhone Camera App and the Halide iPhone Camera App. I realize that the 2x zoom is an interpolated or processed zoom but I find that I use it all the time when using the iPhone 14 Pro Max. Very Disappointing for the priceFor whatever I paid, $13 or $14, I wish I'd have gone with a different app. Just today, I tried using it for some longer exposures. Once it got down to 1/10th of a second or lower, the whole app got extremely laggy and sometimes froze. When you do get a nice 1/8th of a second photo off on a vehicle or street photography, it's usually a choppy looking motion trail. Not the smoothness you get with a real camera and filter. Then I tried attaching a macro lens. First good pic I had framed, then as soon as I clicked the shutter button, it just closed down.
