NYS Excelsior Pass Wallet Positive Reviews
Works as promisedI got my pass on the website and was able to add it, from there, into Apple wallet, to screenshot it, to print it, to save it as a file, and to download this app and add it to the app as well. Overkill, maybe, but I don’t know yet which will work best for my needs so I tried them all, and they all work. So you don’t actually need this app to have an Excelsior Pass, which a number of complaints don’t seem to understand. It’s just an added convenience.
My one problem had to do with the pass itself, not the app. I counted yesterday as 14 days from my second vaccine but couldn’t get a pass until today. I figure I miscounted because I got my shot early in the day?.Version: 1.1.0
Worked great for us!!!I tried to get the pass 1 week after I was fully vaccinated & was informed that I was trying to put my info in to early to receive it. Fast forward 2 weeks later tried again and BINGO, worked like a charm. It expires in one year from the date I received my second vaccination, which is fine since no one really knows if these vaccinations will need boosters, or whatever, in the near future.
3 days later I did the same for my hubby so he could get his pass on his phone and had Zero problems with getting his pass either. Making life soooo much easier to wine & dine, or whatever. Stay safe all!!.Version: 1.4.1
Easy to use but expires after a monthOnly giving it 4 stars due to incorrect information that I had to enter at first. It gave me different counties where I did not get vaccinated at. I got mines in the Bronx and the only one in nyc that came up in was queens so I went with that one and got my pass. Also it seems to expire after a month. I know the app just came out so there’s gonna be some issues at first but hopefully this is one of them they can address moving forward. Other than that I haven’t had the time to use it yet but it looks easy to use. It’s super convenient as I don’t have to carry the physical card with me everywhere I go.Version: 1.0.2
No problemsOnce I went thru the online site for verification, the app automatically opened up and showed me the proof.
My problem, I actually tried about ten times, was that the online site could not find my info. I was getting really frustrated. Tried mother’s maiden name, and a whole bunch of other stuff, and still nothing. Then it hit me. I was inputting the county I live in instead of the county I was vaccinated in. Duuuh. Once I corrected that, voila! Went right thru and I now have the proof..Version: 1.5.0
Works as advertisedThis app works exactly as advertised. Most of the one star reviews criticize parts of the process that are not related to the app (e.g. the vaccination provider not recording information correctly). I ran I to such a problem as well, got in touch with customer support and got it straightened out. Also, if your pass is about to expire (or has already expired) get a new pass, it will have an updated expiration date. All that is explained on the Excelsior Pass web site..Version: 1.4.2
Super easyThe 15 day wait to be able to add the pass after my last vaccination was a bit tedious, but once I was eligible I just entered in some basic verification info and it automatically fetched my vaccination record. Then I added my vax QR card to my passbook. As apps go, it’s pretty bare-bones (small, easy to implement things are missing, like text auto fill, no social or app download share links, etc), but it does what it needs to and I had no issue. This was very quick and easy to use once I was eligible to use it..Version: 1.3.0
Worked for meWorked perfectly for me. Unfortunately a lot of people are unable to find their info or are discovering a variety of errors made with the data entry of their info. Everyone has to remember that this is done by a government agency. Not the private sector. As such, they don’t have the brightest and the best working for them. Anything done by the government will have an abundance of issues and cost 5 times what it would if done by a private company. Be patient. They’ll get it all worked out within 5 years..Version: 1.4.0
No Waiting & No ErrorsThis app not only functioned flawlessly, I was completely done in under 1 minute and had my pass generated literally immediately. Instantly. As fast as actually possible. It was amazing. And my pass is now added to my Apple Wallet. Using this was a breeze. It also doesn’t expire in a month as some folks have been saying. My pass is good for 1 full year. At which point I imagine I will need a new vaccination. Not that big of a deal..Version: 1.4.0
Kudos to New York StateI had switched jobs and my CDC COVID vaccination card had gone missing in the move. NYS made giving my new employer proof of my vaccination so easy because my vaccinations were in the system from my previous employer. Sooo helpful. And so quick and easy to sign up for! I’m not big into the government having all our info but this was an instance where they facilitated what would have been a difficult drawn out task of finding proof of my shots..Version: 2.2.0
Expiration?3 stars because my pass seems to
Expire in less than a month. No explanation for this either. I’m thinking it’s an error they will correct. Otherwise it was seemless and simple.
Ok so I’m updating my review because you responded to me and explained that all you have to do is re enter the info and now the pass will be good for 180 days. It’s a great way to keep track and prove your vaccinated. I don’t understand while people don’t want this.
It’s brilliant!.Version: 1.0.2
Works perfectly, easy to add to apple walletIt took about 1 minute to get my pass. The only thing i learned is you MUST wait the full 14-15 days or whatever to obtain your pass. I tried it at night and the next morning on both myself and my partners phones and for each it needed to wait the same number of days.
My advice: try it on what looks like the 14th day, if no pass - don't freak out just wait a day or two - it will work.Version: 1.2.0
People need to give it time!Everyone is so stuck on having everything instantly. First time around, no record of me. I waited a week and got my pass in 2 minutes so just chill out people. This is the first time in history that they have had to document millions of people getting a vaccine... it may take a bit to get all of that accurately into the system. I am not a big fan of NY but come on! Good job!.Version: 1.4.0
Terrible AppEntered my information which it can’t locate and rejects it Meanwhile I’m starting at my Vaccination Card , why not be able to send a copy of Front & Back of my card as proof of being fully vaccinated
Update even though I was vaccinated in Bronx County it was associated with a medical staff from NY County, when I selected NY as my vaccination location this app successfully registered and is up and running… changed status from 1 Star to 5 Stars.Version: 1.4.2
The app does what it says it does ….The problem for me was the people who entered my vaccination info at the Javitz center. My last shot was March 29th. Two weeks after that I’ve been trying to enter my info into this app. Time and time again I wasn’t found. I emailed and called customer service. Never got an email reply and customer took my info and I haven’t heard back. So after maybe 40 or so attempts, I tried my MIDDLE NAME. Ding ding ding!!! They entered my info wrong. Doh!!!.Version: 1.4.0
Works fine if the information was correctly submitted to the stateI had an issue getting my pass at first BUT it was because my workplace had submitted my information with my old address. The app works fine for me.
If you have an Apple Watch you can get your pass on the watch by adding it to your Apple Wallet and then pulling up the Wallet app on your watch..Version: 2.1.0
Updated ReviewThe app works perfectly now! If you are having an issue where it says it cannot find your information, just call the site where you were vaccinated. They will simply confirm your info and tell you they will upload it and it should be available in 24 hours. Works like a charm! Hope this helps!.Version: 2.0.0
“Health check” could’ve been a better name? The app works, so this is a win for the state in my book! Not the most straightforward to find the app, or to get a pass. PSA - there are two different apps, one for organizations to scan the pass and a separate one for New Yorkers, which can be confusing. Could’ve had a less obscure name, but overall gets the job done..Version: 1.0.2
Excellent!Excellent way of proof! After 2 weeks being vaccinated, followed instructions, and pass was issued. I find it to be effective and secure. Don’t trust those cards given at clinics as proof, already seen blank cards given out for those young rebels refusing to get vaccinated. Should be mandated by the state, all get vaccinated, only way to end this pandemic rage. Thanks NYC for caring for us, your citizens..Version: 1.4.0
Works right now,Right now it works so I don’t need to carry my paper covid passport. That’s great. But I am definitely concerned about my renewal(after 6 months). Also a lot of my friends have complained that their name doesn’t show up in the database and all reviews have been stating how buggy this app is…
Edit- added to Apple Watch by adding to Apple wallet. Will bump up to 4stars. Still concerned about bugginess.Version: 2.4.0
Read People!!!I made my first attempt to obtain my pass on the 15th day after my second shot. I had no issues whatsoever with obtaining my husbands as well as my pass. Worked flawlessly and I had it within 1 minute. The key IS TO WAIT 15 days AFTER YOUR SECOND SHOT!!!! It says it right on there. Read people!!!!! Works great when you follow directions..Version: 1.4.0
Works just fine, not very useful however (yet)The app works fine. You need to wait 2 weeks after your last shot, then possibly another day or two for New York State to update its database.
It’s compatible with apple wallet. My only qualm is that I’ve never had to use it. No place that I’ve been to uses it. Maybe that will change later on, but for now it’s nice to have just in case..Version: 1.3.0
Worked Well For MeI’ve had this app on my phone for a month but did not activate it/put info to get the “passport” until three weeks after my final dose of the Covid-19 vaccine. It took me all of 30 seconds to input and activate it. The app asked for my name, date of birth, where I received my vaccinations and the date of the last dose I received. Easy-peasy..Version: 1.4.0
UsefulThe app is very useful and I don’t have to walk around with the CDC paper card. Suggestion: Support for the Apple Wallet seems more strategic (I understand the need for a standalone Wallet which is due to Federal and other Organizational IT restrictions which may apply on employee or company issued devices but for the general public this is more accommodating); and I’d love to an Apple Watch version..Version: 1.0.1
Easy to install and to add to my Apple walletWill only work on the 15th day after your second shot, so no point trying before that date. It’s simple and concise, my vaccine details were verified immediately and the pass comes with an expiration date that will be handy if/when a booster shot is required. Good job all around..Version: 1.1.0
Works well. Happy to have it.I’m looking forward to using this at an upcoming Yankees game. Glad to be vaxxed, and this is an easy way to prove it.
For those who complain about privacy or showing your birthday, I hate to break it to you but every time you’re ever been carded for booze or entry to a bar, they saw your birthday. This isn’t any different..Version: 1.0.1
I am from queens but I had to click on NY (Manhattan)I read somewhere in this app’s review that someone played around and clicked on different location to get their pass. I got vaccinated in queens but I am guessing where I got vaccinated was affiliated with Manhattan NY because I only got my pass after choosing Manhattan as the spot I got vaccinated in..Version: 1.5.0
Great ToolI installed the very first public version and I must say I'm very impressed. Im proud of NYS in leading the country in leveraging technology to assist in the reopening of the State. It’s well designed easy to use and worked flawlessly, if you follow the instructions. It’s what the Federal Government should have employed instead of those ridiculous paper cards. Thanks New York State!.Version: 1.4.0
No pass: but I am fully vaccinated and qualifyGarbage. I am fully vaccinated and am past the 21 day period and meet all requirements to gain a a pass (even less than 90 days from last dose) and still cannot get a pass. Verified all of my information correctly and I am still denied according the the website. Trash..Version: 1.0.1
