Very user friendly AND necessary depending where you flyI live near an airport and therefore am within a controlled area. It is not just any airport but one where the state Police helicopters and the Air National Guard fly out of - and they fly low. Applying for and receiving FAA authorization is required for legal drone flight otherwise the consequences can be very severe. This app made the LAANC process very smooth. I did not think it would be so quick and easy - especially reading the reviews about other apps. Besides the LAANC I could check for other temporary flight restrictions. This app is a necessity in my opinion for legal and responsible drone flying. Even if one does not lived in an area with controlled airspace it is still good to check for FAA TFRs. For better or worse there is going to be more scrutiny of drone flying. Apps like this take a lot of stress away from the wondering “Am I legal or not?” Keep that in mind because later this year the FAA will require drones to broadcast their ID’s. Very user friendly but I would like to see more.I have to start this review by saying this app is great. It works well and does everything you need to register to fly in controlled air space. I would like to see more features that would be useful for my work. Now that checklists are included I would love to see a button on the mission side that lets you manually mark the mission as flown with the option to add any post flight notes needed after the mission. I would also love to see a place to list all drones and batteries owned with a spot in the missions where you can note which drone and batteries you are flying with. I have just been adding that information in the notes tab and it can be tedious. This company cares about its usersI submitted a review not to long ago about needing to improve a few things. A couple weeks later, my suggestions were implemented! This is a great app and it continues to get better and better. Another review asked about being able to create polygons instead of the circle for requesting LAANC. I completely agree with that. ExcellentVery user friendly and does just what I need. One thing I really appreciate is being able to connect with the company via chat. They are very responsive and it’s a real person on the other end. They seem eager to be of help. Great customer service. Additionally, I appreciate being able to create my own reusable checklists. It would be helpful to be able to add links in a note field in the checklist so that we could simply click to be taken to sites to check for NOTAMs, TFRs, Charts, & Aviation Weather site. Circles vs. PolygonsThis would be a five star app if I could file using polygons, or at least a square. I live in Class D airspace in a corner between two different altitude flying zones. I could easily fly within the boundaries of the higher altitudes zone. But I cannot request a LAANC for those altitudes, because this app only provides me a circle and I cannot cover the area I want with the circle, without the circle going into lower altitude zones. If I use this app, I have to restrict myself to the lower altitude. So, I don’t use this app when I’m in a corner zone. Which is a large percentage of my flying..FenFamWillVersion: 1.9.0

No iPad Support & Missing Controlled AirspacesSeems like a nice app, but I was totally disappointed when I downloaded to my iPad Mini, which I use often within my drones, to find out it it’s only an iPhone version. I will continue to use Air Control from Aloft until a version that supports the iPad becomes available. Also some Controlled Airspaces are missing. I live in Vero Beach, Florida and have Vero Beach to my north and Forth Pierce airport to my south. Fort Pierce Airspace doesn’t show up. Looks like a good start, but still has a lot of things to fix. I can’t trust an application that doesn’t show me Control Airspaces. Who know what else is missing. They claim to show TFRs, but will they really show them? If I'm going to use an app to save me time and not have to go to a lot of places to look for information, I expect it to be correct all the time..Abner055Version: 1.9.2

Lacks detail like Aloft had for b4uflyBased on my first experience the app provides the basic service and it’s ok to navigate. One thing that is a little annoying is the lack of zooming on the map. You are limited to how far out you can zoom to about one state at a time. The major flaw I see is the lack of controlled airspace zones on the map. For example, sports stadiums. You cannot fly within 3 miles of a stadium 1 hour before or after a sporting event. Stadium airspace is not marked on the map like Aloft. The controlled airspace grids are all one color which makes it hard to see the max altitude zones unless you zoom in. I don’t like it at all but I get it. Cool app, but missing some important restrictionsLooks like an app that has great potential but it does not list a number of restricted areas. Specifically California Department of Fish and Wildlife areas that have flight restrictions in CA. In my area the Yolo Bypass Wildlife Area and most other DFW wildlife areas show as green but they are definite no-fly areas without a DFW permit.
