A Huge Blessing!This app works really well! I had been using the MH commentary in print, which is a giant book for about a year. I really enjoyed Henry's detail and didn't mind the tiny print. However, after about a year I had the opportunity to study abroad to South America. I wanted to continue a bible study through Isaiah while I was abroad and that's when I discovered this app. It's easy to navigate and I love that it saves my place each day. I love the feature that Henry's references to scripture pop-up in a little bubble when I click on it. For example, if I'm studying Is. 32 and there is a reference to Jn. 1, I can click on the reference and it shows the verses. Ultimately, I love that I didn't have to lug a huge book in my suitcase as I traveled and can easily transport the commentary wherever I go! Fantastic referenceI use MHC frequently and it has been such a blessing for me. I have the 6 volume MHC set but using my Apple device is so much quicker and accessible. I really like that the associated verses are one click away! I do have two recommendations for this app. The first is that the place on the page not change when shifting between portrait and landscape view and vice-versa. The second is for bookmarks to be available for us to use. There have been many times when I would like to stop where I'm reading and go to another section of the commentary. There is a LOT of content in this app and having a history of which chapter you are reading is nice but it doesn't allow you to easily get back to where you actually stopped reading, if you decide to go somewhere else. Excellent Value for an outstanding CommentaryThis is one of the best Apps available. There is great ease of use and a faithful reproduction of the original. I have found one or two typographical errors, but other than that I have nothing to regret in buying this App. If you are unfamiliar with Matthew Henry and are seeking a commentary that runs circles around the modern fluff, this is the one you want. I have only experienced one technical issue with it so far; in the commentary on Luke chapter 5, the page will not go past verse 37 and there are 39 verses in the chapter..DebbydebbydebbyVersion: 13.0

Lots of typosI use this app often, but nearly every time I do, I find typos. I’m an editor so maybe I look more carefully at it than most. I can usually figure out from context what the words should be, but newbies could be confused, to say the least, with things like this on 1 John 5:18-21: “It is a great happiness to know the true God, to know him in Christ; it is eternal lie.” The reference is John 17:3 —“And this is life eternal, that they might know thee the only true God, and Jesus Christ, whom thou hast sent. Obviously, the word “lie” should be “life”, but if you don’t know the Bible and don’t click on the reference,…. Does anyone know how to send corrections to the developer? Favorite!This commentary is used in my everyday study of God's word. It's concise, though uses words and style of writing that are not often found in modern day literature. To some that might be off-putting, but to me it brings a richness that fills my canvas of understanding more fully. The layout is hard to read as the lines are long and close together, but you just deal with it because it will deliver depth! The selection of book, chapter, and so on is very easy to manipulate. Such a BlessingCharles Spurgeon said everyone should read Matthew Henry's commentary at least once and I have to agree. Henry's commentary is usually one of my go to's for personal study and also sermon prep but to have it accessible on a mobile device just makes it all the more convenient. Not to mention it's very easy to use. You can jump from one book to another one chapter to another or one verse to another immediately. Love it, great guide!I love how specific it is, this version isn't brief at all it has thoughts as well as specific lengthy explanations of all perspectives of the verses! I usually try to figure out what the text is meaning on my own but when I can't this is great and even when I do I like to see how it lines up with this commentary and compare. Use every day!A great way to study scripture. He brings in different viewpoints when there is disagreement on what certain passages mean so the reader can form his own opinion. I like that the last update to the app fixed the bug that caused it to go back to the start of the chapter when you opened the app back up. Insightful and DependableI love using the Matthew Henry Commentary. It gives great insight on scripture. Although the style of writing is very old, if you read slowly and carefully and you like reading old writing style novels, etc, use a dictionary, the meanings of some of the more complicated phrased can be understood. Sadly filled with errors and omissions.My wife and I were using this app for our daily devotions. When I began using a book version while she continued using the app, we were surprised to discover errors and omissions on every page. I no longer trust this app as an accurate representation of Matthew Henry's Commentary. Recommend the developer remove the app from the App Store until it is corrected.
