Awesome but room for improvement…Update, my data has suddenly reappeared. The way the app seemed to lose it really, really, upset me. I almost deleted the app, and then my data would have really been gone. Making data disappear, then reappear, is very, very bad development practice. Last review: Without warning, the app lost all my data. This is entirely unacceptable. Over the past year, I created, duplicated and modified my lists as I traveled from place to place. With the latest update, there was some message about my lists being synced to iCloud—but they were all gone! Fail. (Additionally, none of the helpful suggestions I included in my original review were ever added.) First review: Awesome but room for improvement… "Common" missing items that I would like to see included in the default items lists: Cash, Handkerchief, Hotel reservations, Phone, Umbrella, Hand sanitizer, Headphones Yes, the app lets you add these yourself, but these are pretty common when packing for a trip. Also, if I search for an item in the default lists and it's not found, there should be a command to add that item to the list immediately. Also, rather than hide completed items, I would like to have the checked items bumped to the bottom of the list Also, a search field in the packing list would be handy. A little app that JUST WORKSI’ve been using this app since I had an iPhone 3. So, yeah. For a LOOOOONG time. Maybe a decade. Never needed another app for a trip, so I hope they keep this one going, because it’s the *perfect* amount of organization balanced with simplicity. And it makes adding or rearranging lists, items, and categories super intuitive. While we don’t travel nearly as much since Covid, We usually go for a month Long Beach trip every year, and when you are renting a house for that long, you need things that you’d never need for just a weekend hotel stay or Xmas with the family. So having the ability to have multiple trip lists makes everything a breeze. I hardly ever need to add anything to my various lists anymore (beach, weekend, camping, parents house, etc…) because the same lists are there for my next trip, and all I have to do is *possibly* modify the “before we go” category to make sure we address things like pet sitters or whatnot that change from trip to trip. Everything else is there for me. And in the rare case where I do need to create a whole new list from scratch, they make it incredibly easy with the list suggestions you can pull from. I Love Travel ListI have been using this app since 2014. It has the most common default categories (Clothing, documents) and I have added my own (Running gear.) Within each category, it has the most common items and, again, I have added my own or deleted those I will not use. Over time, my list of items has grown so that anything I could possibly need is there. I don’t have to remember what to pack, I just select from the list. That way, it is virtually impossible to forget anything. I can add or delete items from my list at any time while packing. As I get ready to pack, I assemble everything on my list. I only check an item off the list when it is actually packed. There is an option to hide the checked items so, as packing proceeds, it is possible to see only the items that remain unpacked. It's good but could be improvedEverything I need to plan is there, but it would be more helpful if it were more customizable with: 1. More space to describe items and see what I've planned, on the initial page. e.g., under Shirts, I need room to enter the specific shirts: the blue denim, the black-&-white check, etc. If I can see the specifics, I can see the outfits I plan and determine if they meet my needs. 2. Being able to move/reorder items within a category. e.g., under Personal Care let me group all the hair items together, even if I entered 'styling brush' after toothpaste and floss. Simple and customizable.This app has been indispensable for me-- I've used it for all the traveling I've done over the last 2 or 3 years. The look of the app is really clean and easy to follow. While the presets for the packing lists are helpful, you can add or delete categories as you please and customize the items that show up in certain categories. You can also toggle which categories are shown, which helps keep clutter down when putting together a packing list and helps when you want to keep a category but only need to use it once in a while (like skiing equipment). Also useful when packing back up to be sure you haven't forgotten anything. I also like that you can make an itinerary and set alerts for yourself. I've never had a problem with syncing between devices and have just checked that my iCloud sync is working perfectly. Honestly have never had a problem with this app and always come to it for any trips I'm taking..Mae4Version: 4.5.3

Essential.I was a big TripList user, but they never fixed the crashing bug. I'm so glad I found this! Packing apps have been invaluable to simplify the packing process for my family. There are two big advantages to using an app like this. First, it helps me not forget anything. Our trips are vastly different, and without something like this I'm likely to forget those unusual things like the yellow fever vaccination card or the interpol clearance for driving across international borders. Second, it separates packing into a decision-making stage (which I can do anywhere, anytime on the app) and a putting-stuff-in-containers stage (which I'll do a short time before I need to leave). I've tried a bunch of other packing apps, and Travel List is the most beautiful. Clean & PreciseThis app is an example of its kind done very well. The looks of the iPhone and iPad versions are both very clean, and each one uses the display real estate to its advantage. I dropped one star only because of the inability to add items to the preset list. You can turn items on or off or even delete them completely, but you can't seem to add new ones to the specific preset templates. My most useful app for travel prepI use this app every time I travel, whether it's just me or all seven of us. I have added a To Do category and use the app as my check list both on my phone as well as using the printed list. I like how I can go back to previous lists and tweak them to fit current trips, but lately, I'd rather just set up new ones because it's nice to have a record of the various trips we've made. I really like how I can hide whole categories, like camping, or babies, when they're not applicable to the current trip. This app really saved me last Christmas when I had to pack to send the boys to go to their grandparents while we flew out to a wedding. I just set up two different lists and printed them out and it made all the difference in my sanity. I just love this app because I never have to start a packing list from scratch again! With all the previous items I've entered in different categories as options to add to a new list, it's very unlikely I'll ever leave any necessary item home. IPad version is wonderful!After using almost every packing app available about a year ago, I settled on the simplicity of Travel List for iPhone. The only thing that was missing was being able to use my iPad too. Just installed the app for iPad and enabled iCloud. All my lists downloaded! Hurray! I really like the layout, and you kept it simple. Thank you! The only suggestion I have is - I really liked the other font for iPhone - the mixed case. The all caps and the white background is harder on the eyes. Often I triple click and use the black background. Could you go back to mixed case and another background color? My main wish list items for this app: I take the same business trip every month, so it would be nice to have a single list for this trip I could reset each time, rather than copying a list to make a new list. SeriouslyI'm the kind of person that tends forget AT LEAST ONE THING no matter where I go, if you're like me, this is for you. Versatile & easy to useI have tried a number of apps/solutions for making packing lists and this app is easily the best. Creating and using lists is very flexible and highly customizable and yet not overly complicated. The look of the app is also nice & clean which is exactly what I want when trying to focus on packing. On top of that you can also keep your itinerary in the app (and it syncs that info to the built-in calendars as well) plus you can save trip-related reminders... So handy! (It would be really nice if the top-level lists could be reordered.) Needs workFrom the screenshots, I thought this app would be just what I need: clean interface for creating a set of totally customized and organized packing lists. It is very limited. Namely, the third screenshot shows categories of items neatly grouped for "Gadgets" and "International" etc. That is a list of prepopulated items you can use to add to your own packing list but it is not editable. Nor is the resulting packing list organized into categories. This app would be at least four stars if you could edit the main list of items and if the resulting packing list looked as clean and organized (with categories) as the main list.
