Would love to see this app make a comeback!I have been searching for other RPG style to-do list apps recently, and I’ve downloaded a handful of them but none of them hold a candle to what EpicWin was. It was my favorite app for years and years and legitimately kept me on track far more than your boring, sterilized business-like to-do list apps. The art, sound, everything was just so good. But I guess they’ve move on to bigger and better things, because now it’s not usable at all. The whole interface is horribly broken. I just wish they would come back with a refresh and update it for modern phones. Three stars for having loved it in the past, but not being usable in the present. EPIC app for EPIC peopleYou could look at this app and be annoyed by the simplicity, limited functionality, the extra added sound effects, the music, but that makes you an instant square. I miss this appUpdate: It’s 2020 now and we’re in the midst of a global pandemic. Since its developer stopped updating Epic Win, I’ve had to move on and use other To Do-type apps. It’s been years now and I still miss Epic Win. No other app has come close to bringing me as much joy in completely mundane — and epic — tasks. While the app has its quirks and sometimes there are bugs, I am always impressed with the original "prizes" and I really love beating up my To Do list. I wish there was more to itI really like the idea of this app, and for what it is, it seems pretty cool. However, I get more use out of another app I use for to-dos because there are better rewards. I feel like leveling up a character that doesn't do anything is pointless. It would be cooler to me if the map lead me to short puzzle games alternated with loot. That would motivate me to try to get there. I may continue to use this app, but I find myself quickly jotting notes down on my other to-do app instead. I have ADHD so I really need the motivation! Addiction for goodSo, my friend convinced me to restart playing Pokémon Go. And I was hooked. XP grinding. Knocking over grandmas for Magikarp. And it happened immediately. How can I use this tendency for good? I had tried Habitica before but it didn't stick. Although there are some features, I wish I could carry over to Epic Win. Less is moreI have ADHD, and I’ve found this one to be better than the other todo list & gamification app that most people use. All those advanced features and different types of rewards the other app has are distracting, and aren’t at all interesting - if I wanted to play an actual game, I’d play an actual game. This app has much better sound and graphics which are all I need to feel rewarded. I don’t care much for collectibles but they are a nice addition. From a school psychologistThis would be an AMAZING tool for a classroom. If a teacher could assign tasks and their worth (i.e. Homework is 100 points) and could verify when A student has completed the work, it would greatly help with student motivation. If you have ADHD you should 100% get thisSo I have ADHD and I have problems focusing on my homework when my ADHD medication wears off and it works amazingly while making doing things fun for my ADHD mind. I love that you are able to make quests by finishing things on your to do list and for me I find it rewarding whenever I get one of my tasks off of my to do list mostly because instead of just checking off things on a to do list it feels like you are being rewarded for the smallest thing on your to do list. Like today I had to finish my homework but I wanted to break up the parts of it as different tasks and it felt rewarding to just finish one part of my homework even though I have to do a lot more. If you are needing to do an all nighter then this app will still be good because you can put stuff down (for example: take a 3-5 minute nap) and it will still feel rewarding because your brain is wired to reward you when you do anything good but with the app you don’t just feel good you feel like you just climbed a mountain to finish the task even though all you did was put down a task you need to do or should do and you finished said task.Anonymous user#122569Version: 1.78

Fun with routineThis app is good for starting a routine and keeping it fun by earning XP and gold through your daily chores. It could however use a little more depth, like actually being able to use the items or gold. Or encountering random battles. Even a sexy cut scene after leveling would make it more enjoyable. Wait.. I can get exp, loot, and gold all for doing, everyday tasks??This is an instant win for me. I love the look and feel of everything, the loot is hilarious, and it just brightens my day when I get loot for cleaning my cat's litter :} A few things still need to be fixed, like being able to play your songs while questing and other things, but these are minor and barely effect the epic-ness of this app. I wish that more loot was physically displayed on your character, and I am excited for the "History" tab in the next patch that will show you past completed tasks. Worth the MoneyI don't like buying applications often; I'd rather buy myself a drink than waste money on something that will likely just collect virtual dust. However, supermono ought to be very proud of themselves. They've created an app that actually makes the quotidian drudge almost tolerable. This iteration (1.4) goes a long way to address the shortcomings in event repetition, and now it's a joy to use to plan out your schedule and your goals on a longer-term or repetitive basis. This means, for instance, that I can set a task to be completed every second Friday, or set a task to recur every weekday. That is huge. I've had this app since it came out, but I really feel like the value has shot up through the roof. I'd probably pay close to $5 for this, and more once syncing to and from iCal becomes a reality. The micro-rewards are fantastic, and if you find yourself as weak of will as I am, you'll appreciate this application. I use it to track and manage my vices; I give myself 50xp if I make it through the day without drinking a sugary drink, or 50xp if I pack and eat my own lunch instead of going out. It's not quite the gratification of a hot, greasy meal, but for someone of my uniquely poor mental constitution, it's an acceptable replacement. In short, don't buy yourself a drink; buy this app, even if you don't normally buy apps. Heck, use the app to wean yourself off the sugary stuff. Great Idea!This app is a very, very interesting take on the whole "productivity" genre of apps. Many of us are too young to remember a world without video games (and their constant positive reinforcement), and it seems only natural that the best way to tap into this shared experience is to make the mundane parts of life more like the video games that we love. I can't tell you how much more rewarding it is to floss when its worth 50 stamina experience. That being said, my 4 star review isn't because the app is polished, at the present time it's very clear that this is a 1.0 product. The task list is a bit clunky, as you have to manually remove completed tasks from the list (theres no separate list that stores your completed tasks). The RPG side obviously reflects the developer's desire to expand this app significantly into a more "gamey" sort of app, but at the moment is limited to displaying your avatar, and randomly presenting you with loot based on experience gained. Despite this, the app gets 4 stars for its originality, and for delivering on exactly what was promised by the developers before it was released. A lot of reviews have rated this low because they were expecting more of a game. If you're looking for a game to play, buy a game. This is a task list (albeit, a very fun one). At no point in time did the developers say "we're making a game with a task list included!" This app has always been primarily a productivity app, and it does it beautifully. Perfect![Update] the newest update has fixed the problem of old quest details not being cleared and it is now perfect. No bugs as far as I can tell. This type of acts works really well ifYou are the kind of person who responds to simple meaningless rewards. I know it sounds silly but it is true. I have ADHD and I can't maintain most organizational apps for more than a week. I used this app to set up daily routine tasks (sketching, cleaning) and I get a mini thrill when the little character knocks em down. It's like a gold star sticker on a school report. The point system works for competitive types. I am motivated to do just one or two more tasks on my list to beat my score and maybe level up! GTD FunI tried to motivate myself to use some of the more expensive GTD apps, I have a graveyard of 9.99+ apps in my iTunes no longer on my phone. This app is fun, simple and if you use Google apps the calendar integration is flawless. The gaming side of this app is just a bonus, it could be sold as a simple task app without it. Adding values (intelligence/stamina etc) and points helps motivate on some less desirable tasks that sit as an annoying unfinished badge numbers on other apps. Great AppGreat to-do app with a nice RPG twist, but it's in dire need of a nice update. For the update I'd recommend the following: 1. To complete a "300 XP" quest you need to hold it for ~5 seconds which, for somebody with an uncontrollable twitch, is difficult to do. 2. Easier leveling. XP required per level (10 - 11 --> Little more than 50,000, which is around 1,500 full 300 EXP quests) is insane. 3. Update the app icon. The one on iTunes is 5000x better than the one on the iPhone. De-list this alreadyDisclaimer: I think I bought the Epic Win app over a decade ago, while we were still on iPhone 4 or 5; and at the time, it did everything it was supposed to. Epic Win got me though grad school and made setting goals engaging. I loved this app. But, it hasn’t been usable in years. It hasn’t worked on the last few phones I’ve upgraded through. I don’t remember seeing the UX actually working after the last posted fix date. I can look back fondly on this, and I would even support a reasonable-cost update from the creators — nothing else in this space looks or feels as good as Epic Win — but it’s unethical to charge money for something that’s been abandoned and will not work. App not supported since 2015They stopped updating the app since 2015 if you check their site. DO NOT BUY/DOWNLOAD IT. It’s garbage and doesn’t work since it hasn’t been supported since 2015. It’s not even that the tasks won’t work it’s that none of the buttons line up anymore so you have to press all over the screen to finally find where the actual button is. It only shows 1/4 of the character because it just glitches out. I couldn’t even get 1 task added. It has a great concept but they aren’t supporting it anymore so it doesn’t work. They are just scamming people to keep it in the App Store. IPhone mistakesI do love this app, really. I used it in my galaxy for over a year before I had to switch to iOS. The second I tried to use the same app on this phone, it was a mess.
