Both times, I get the wheel off, replace the tube and tire and then am mystified about how to get the wheel back on. There’s always a bit more to figure out (because I’ve never set the derailer correctly before taking the wheel off!) but your pictures and description are a lifesaver. Gorgeous appI'm sure that there are shortcomings in the content that will temper this effusiveness eventually. Nonetheless the pictures in the app are so superior to any of the three bike repair books I have that those alone make the app worthwhile. About the biggest complaint I could make and it was only by luck that it didn't bite me is that after the last upgrade the app required a separate download of new photos in order to open. Had I been without a fast connection or worse yet no connection and had to refer to the app I would have been stuck. That sort of thing should be part of the update process. Great app, not only for repair, but also keeping track of parts.I have been using this app for a while now and have found it very handy to remind myself of the procedure for most common bike repairs/adjustments. This app does not have guides for more advanced repairs, but what it does have it does very well. Clear pictures and instructions. I especially like the "My Bikes" section, and was really the main reason I bought the app. I had been using a spreadsheet to keep track of all the parts on my various bikes, but this makes it much simpler to organize. And with the addition of the ability to duplicate and archive a section it makes it very easy to keep track of disposable components as well. The only reason I gave it four stars rather than five was a few interface quirks here and there, and the general feel that this app is not quite as polished as some others. I'm almost reluctant to knock it a star just cause the developer is extremely responsive and it is clear that this app is only going to get better and better. Bike Repair 3.01 Good Job, some size limitsI just updated the instruction photos for Bike Repair, and I am very impressed. I used to run a used bicycle store, and I know that the major way to get the point across is to see a good picture or point out something on the bike itself. Many bicycling mechanical terms are unusual, and only apply to bikes. So any straight text explanation will be very confusing. Bike Repair has really good close-up photos, to look at before getting grease on your hands, so it's much easier, with likely success. They've put a lot in, while keeping the app fairly small. Gonna cost you more$$$Really nice and easy to follow. The best feature is the ability to keep track of your own bikes. Similar to a lot of car maintenance tracking apps. Be prepared though; this feature is required as an additional purchase. So in total this app will cost you more than just the initial price. I felt a little cheated. It's still really nice and worth having. I just wish I would have known up front. I still would have bought it but just don't like the feeling of being cheated. Either raise the price an extra dollar for full access or disclose upon purchase of the additional "my bike" option. Practical AppThis is a good practical app. I think the editing of your bike can improve, maybe export the information or a solid save function. When you input all the information the app has a search function for you bike. This is a nice feature but if I go to one site I would like to open it full screen. Great way to keep track of parts and maintenanceSince I have seven bikes, always in various stages of repair, this is a great tool to keep track of parts and maintenance. However, I stopped using it because I could not get it to sync via the cloud across devices. Though I intend on updating the records on my phone, since that is the most portable and useful device of mine for this application, repeating the info in my iPad is rather tedious so I may not bother. It's unfortunate because I prefer using that visually when I am home. I see no recent reviews of this app here, which kind of makes me feel like the developers are not updating this and may have abandoned the project. Limited. Great StillThis app has great potential. Really am impressed with it but feel that it's limited with repair guides. I would think that the purpose of the app is to provide users a "all in one app" experience of repair guides to pretty much any part of a bike that might need repair such as replacing cable housing or other parts shown in the glossary page of the app. There is also the useful tips that should be included for someone unsure what kind of a bike they should get. Great easy quick repair reference.For home bike repair, this is a great reference. Easy to view pictures, well thought out layout and easy to read text. Very intuitive fault tree and overall user interface. Nice to have in garage or on bike trail for an easy to reach reference source. BrilliantI can think of nothing to make it better. I use this app and the My Bikes feature several times a week. Well worth the price. My Bikes helps you keep track of all the parts on all the bikes in your quiver, along with dimensions (seat tube diameter, for example), and relevant serial numbers. It has become my favorite part of this app. Someone complained the guides weren't clear or comprehensive, but that must be in comparison to one of the mighty books out there. An essential toolBesides a spare tube, patch kit, tire levers and a multi-tool, I carry this app prominent on my iPhone. It's my teacher and maintenance coach. On those few occasions I'm in a bike repair shop it gives me street cred with the bike mechanics! V5.0 suggests what to wear at any temperature range. I like this new feature as it takes the guesswork and endless second guessing what layers of clothing should make up my ride outfit for the day. Useful tool for everyday maintenanceI ride every day, and do most my own upkeep on my two bikes. This app won't replace more comprehensive books, but it does a great job at showing step by step instructions for basic repairs with clear images to assist. Lacks Focus, Very BasicI get to the point.. It could be much better focused. Not enough depth. I'm not so concerned as what to wear in the cold or links to online cycling mags.
