Food Intolerances App Comments & Reviews

Food Intolerances Positive Reviews

Wonderful app but.........They did another update and added more foods but they list corn, popcorn and the like as safe and according to everything I have read, corn is one of the worst foods for salicylate . Also figs are listed as safe but I have read they are moderately high in salicylate. New updates have made some foods high in salicylates as green. Misleading This app is wonderful! Every update has been wonderful but notice a few foods missing. One is plain corn and corn on the cob. They have corn salad......don't even know what that is. Greens (collards, turnip etc) missing as well. I would also like information on medicinal herbs like milk thistle, ashwagandha, St. John's Wort etc. I find conflicting information on the web. Every food intolerance imaginable is listed as well as other allergies. Great app..Version: 4.5.3

Spotty infoIt’s a great app as far as the layout and details it provides. I’ve only been using it a few days and already I’ve poisoned myself and wasted money in food I can’t eat. I currently and in the weeds as far as SIBO and histamine intolerance goes. I checked figs in the app and got the green light. I ate 4 and had a severe reaction. After looking online I found figs are very high fodmop for their fructose content, one of the highest fruits actually. Which makes sense when I think about it, but I was just following the app. We’ll see how it goes, although now I feel I need to cross reference everything it gives me, which sort of defeats the purpose. Its a bummer to have this happen right at the beginning of using it! Completely broke my confidence and I’m sure it’s most accurate with the info. Just bad luck and really bad autoimmune response as a result..Version: 5.6

Essential for those with perplexing food issuesIncredible app, very useful. Keeping a food diary is great practice but ultimately frustrating if you can’t pinpoint why you’re getting the results you’re getting. This app helps immeasurably with analysis, with the understanding that everyone is unique and daily accumulations of a substance will often matter more than a single serving of a single food. I like how this app helps with realizing there aren’t “bad” or “good” foods by breaking down what substances in them might be problematic for you if given in high enough quantities to affect you. Given how complex it is to uncover what works for you, and how little help doctors can generally give, this app is a lifesaver..Version: 5.4

Great app!I love this app. It’s really easy to use and has proved very accurate based on my experiences with histamine intolerance (HIT) syndrome. Before discovering this app, I was using the SIGHI food list, which although it is excellent doesn’t include some of the foods (e.g., pecans, kale) I wanted to check. I believe everyone’s experience of histamine intolerance is slightly different. The differences we all experience perhaps explain why this app classifies some foods in the mild-histamine range, whereas other apps classify them more severely. In my case, this app’s classification scale more closely matches my experiences. I also like that I could pay a one-time fee for the PRO version, rather than paying monthly as infinitum..Version: 5.7

It’s absolutely GENIUS!Very CLEVER easy to use app. If you are suffering from multi digestive issues, allergies, restrictions etc, I consider this app essential. With this app I can combine both low fodmaps and low histamine restrictions and get a quick look at the things I can eat considering both of these restrictions. You can customize it to your needs if you have gluten, nuts and other sensitivities. For me it is a life saver. I was going crazy trying to gather the information and compare lists from different apps and websites. I purchased the pro version and was amazed by the helpful informative information. I am so impressed that I had to write a review. It’s very interactive and gives you multiple options with a sliding bar to understand quantities aloud. It’s not static as most apps which gives you just 3 color options. If I could give it 1000 stars, I would. Thank you for developing such an app. I’m very grateful!.Version: 5.3

Nice app but disagree with some foodsIt’s nicely organized, and I like the shopping list. The descriptions of different studies in things like bananas and avocados and peanuts is great, I love being informed to make my own choices. But the colors of “danger” level are clearly subjective. You NEED to read the actual description, not just avoid every food that’s yellow, orange or red. Example: labeling “polenta” as VERY HIGH in histamine is disingenuous. They explain it’s because it’s “usually made with Parmesan”. Uh maybe some recipes? But that doesn’t mean polenta itself is high in them. You also need to update your MSG guidance. “Chinese restaurant syndrome” as you call it is founded in racism and not science..Version: 4.8.1

LifesaverI have dietary fructose malabsorption and the app’s been a big help in three ways: 1) The obvious way; when I come across a new food or want to look something up, it’s great having a convenient trusted source (and one that keeps comments) 2) What I can and can’t eat is pretty complicated and I don’t expect others to keep up with it. This can lead to some problems when others cook though - I don’t want to refuse my in-law’s Christmas dinner or seem difficult. They’ve downloaded the app now too and it’s easy for them to make sure there’s something I can eat (especially since they only need to think about my weird restrictions occasionally). 3) Fructose malabsorption isn’t especially well known - the app can be nice for establishing a bit of credit when I need to tell someone about my restrictions (“good odds he’s not entirely making this up”). Thanks for the great app. Has definitely been a quality of life improvement..Version: 4.5.3

The BestI have many food intolerances and found so much conflicting information online I was frustrated. I thought I would have to create my own spreadsheet to sort it all out. I purchased several other apps that were a complete waste of money. Then I found this one. It has everything thing I need to determine safe foods. It is well researched, has extensive notes about individual foods, easy to use format. Just buy it, you won't be disappointed..Version: 4.8.1

Awesome app!!This is an awesome app! I just started embarking on a low histamine diet as well as no gluten, no dairy, and no yeast. This app allows you to put all those filters in and to which degree you’re sensitive to it as well. Then it rates everything by color to make it easy. And you can click on a food to read the details about how much histamine it has and if it’s a histamine liberator. Some of the foods also have a little history on them health-wise. This is great for MCAS or HIT and food intolerances!.Version: 5.0

Very HelpfulGreat for planning meals at home and for eating out especially. Love the way you can sort foods by your particular intolerance. Really well designed. Lots of detailed notes on each food explaining things to watch out for and be aware of. Definitely the most helpful app for food intolerances of all sorts, and especially good for situations where you aren’t sure what is bothering you and want to try more than one elimination diet. Lets you do it all with one app! Thanks for a great tool..Version: 4.5.3

Great little app with room to improveI have so many contradictory diet guidelines I’m supposed to follow which makes it extremely difficult to eat healthily. This app lets me set most of those guidelines and shows me what I can and what I shouldn’t eat and why. I do wish there were more commercial products in the database rather than just single ingredients & whole foods, and I wish there were options for low fiber, low fat, etc in addition to the restricted diets settings. Overall happy with this app but also looking forward to see its development..Version: 5.9

Life saverSince Doctors will not help us with this challenging condition all we have left is this App... i do not know what i would do without it !!! It is so incredibly helpful in navigating through the confusion of which foods to eat... plus the elimination diet we finally have hope to have some quality of life. Thank you for making my life easier and more peaceful. Franco.Version: 5.4

Wonderful App for Food Allergies, Intolerances, SensitivitiesGreat app to look up food allergies, intolerances, sensitivities, and also track them in a daily diary where you can check daily nutrient & vitamin intake from food versus daily required. Only wish I could also add my vitamin and supplements in the diary as well so I can see if I’ve met my daily minimum’s, not exceeded maximums or that I am not intolerant of any of them especially when buying them..Version: 5.8

The best app I’ve found for MCAS and food sensitivitiesAs someone who has struggled with adverse reactions from histamine, salicylates and FODMAPs, this app have been a godsend for me. I have books and lists, but this app helps me quickly and efficiently search ingredients and foods so I can make better decisions about what I eat and is helping me as I slowly reintroduce foods..Version: 4.9

It's a startI can't find the part that explains what "ASA" means, and the foods are rather unorthodox to an American palate (ostrich?). But I still reco it bc it helps keep a lot of info straight when your dining out or grocery shopping. Also - can we add our own foods ? That would solve some of that issue of unusual foods. UPDATE: I can't seem to update the app - anyone else having this problem? All my other apps are updating just fine....Version: 4.0

Extremely helpful! This app has helped so much. Finding out I have intolerances was really overwhelming and I felt like I couldn’t figure out what to eat without help. This app helps me tremendously and I reference it all the time. Without it, I’d be struggling to figure out what my triggers were and what I can eat. I recommend this app for anyone who has food allergies and/or intolerances..Version: 4.7

Well DoneThis app has the latest information available on the subjects. Most of the information on the Internet is based from years ago and this is by far the most reliable. Thank you so much..Version: 5.4

Mixed feelings.Thank you Baliza. I have found this app to be the most useful and beneficial of the ones I have on my phone and have recommended it to many. I would love it if they could add corn as an allergen as many of us suffer with corn allergy and it is hidden everywhere..Version: 5.2

All in one for food related healthI've had this app for five minutes and already love it. I took about three minutes to decide to go all in with Pro and Nutrition. It really has it all and in a neat and tidy package. When your on a low histamine, low FODMAP, low calorie diet this is a lifesaver!.Version: 5.1

Low nickel diet simplifiedThis is the best app I’ve found that gives vital information to manage my nickel allergy and lactose intolerance. Using the food diary feature I can easily figure out how to get the nutrients I need despite the overwhelming number of restricted foods my diet requires..Version: 5.6

Lifesaver!!This app has been so helpful in managing my various food allergies & sensitivities; life and the chore of eating has become easier since I downloaded it a few years ago…thank you so much for being here!.Version: 5.7

Very helpful!Edit: I forgot to mention how helpful it is to have all the info re the different intolerances. I’ve learned a lot thru this app. This app has been very helpful as we have been learning about and trying to navigate multiple food intolerances. Thanks!.Version: 4.4

Great Food App - helps me dailyThis is a wonderful app. The information and reference links are extensive. I like it’s flexibility to tailor to my specific needs. I set it up to track FODMAPS, gluten, lactose, Vitamin K, fiber, and manganese. I was able to find all the cheeses that have no or very little lactose. I also found that the fruits and mushrooms I was eating every day are not acceptable for FODMAP restrictions. One request: could you add a setting to track foods that help and hurt my campaign against inflammation. Keep up the good work!.Version: 4.1

Good app, but why does it cost more? When the app already costs $4.99 in the App Store, why are you charging for the nutrient information additionally? You really shouldn’t charge more for that information. The app doesn’t contain enough useful information to warrant the price —then the addition of some nutrients doesn’t really warrant an extra fee..Version: 4.1

Was not what I expectedI thought I was going to submit what I ate, and it would let me know what’s in the ingredients...not the case. I’m giving a 4 because the information for each item is useful...but not in the way that I needed it. Inexpensive for an oopsie and perfectly priced for the useful :).Version: 4.7

I’m trusting this for low histamineEven though there is information online that contradicts what’s on this app (ex:eggs) I trust this app but would purchase immediately if price for pro was more reasonable.Version: 5.2

Please add oxalates to this app 🙏🏻Having to go to the other oxalate app to get all the information needed is a pain. I am grateful it exists and appreciate the programmer. If it could all be in one, that would make things much easier, please! Thanks in advance..Version: 5.2

Help please!I am sure that this is a good app, but my food allergies and intolerances are not listed. I can’t figure out how to undo the app. I literally just bought it and it is not helpful for me. 😕 I would like to cancel please.Version: 4.1

Needs a search functionThe app has been essential in figuring out my histamine intolerance. However, you need to add a search function. Who would think to look for squash under “w”?.Version: 4.9

Life changingI have been trying to find a central source of tyramine and histamine content and failing because everything was just lists with no supporting data. It’s amazing that it actually cites the studies and reasons..Version: 4.6.3

So helpfulI use the app several times every day. It’s indispensable in figuring out what I’m able to eat without distress. I set the filters to my specific issues..Version: 4.7

F/G Ratio?Great app so far! One question, in the info section it mentions there's a fructose to glucose ratio, but when searching for a food, I don't see it. For example banana chips, shows sucrose in grams and %, and free fructose, but I'm not seeing a glucose ratio? Please help!.Version: 4.2

Makes food info accessible! No longer am I frantically googling while going out to eat! This app is fantastic..Version: 4.9

LOVE IT!!!So detailed, with very helpful information! Totally recommend if you are trying to figure out food intolerances etc..Version: 4.8.1

Bug in I-app: Forgets current screen on switchSwitching to another app, such as another FODMAP app, to compare results for a food item, then back to this, returns you to the top of the food list..Version: 4.8.1

So glad I found this! This app is amazing, I’m so grateful I found it and I don’t have to struggle with what to eat and what not to eat anymore!.Version: 4.6.3

Excellent AppThis app makes my life so much easier! The ability to customize entries is awesome..Version: 4.8.1

Very well madeEasy to use and understand.Version: 4.8.1

Fabulous appThis is one of the best apps I’ve ever used. Ever. Packed with information. Very well designed and easy to use..Version: 4.7

Great appI just wish they can add oxalates and additives / preservatives on here then it would be perfect!.Version: 4.9

Use it for histamine intoleranceAfter countless years not knowing why I had the symptoms I was having finally became clear it was histamine intolerance , as difficult as it is to traverse this complex intolerance this app makes it such much easier to do a quick check on foods and drinks that I can have . It’s also really convenient for the supermarket instead of countless google searches and differing opinions on the web . Thank you so much to the developers of this great app that’s so practical and functional !!! Best money spent on App Store by far ..Version: 4.8.1

A Big Histamine HelperI have just experienced a recent flare up of histamine intolerance. I wasn’t sure which foods to avoid especially with so much conflicting low-histamine info on the web. This app has been such a great help- easily accessible in the grocery store and very accurate with great explanations. I would recommend this app!.Version: 4.8.1

Really helpful! This app helped me identify the foods that will be safer for me to eat. I am histamine intolerant and definitely react to salicylic. This app has made it easy for me to choose foods that are safer for me to eat. It is lauded out very logically and I really appreciate the details in some foods that may have exceptions. I only gave it 4 stars because I would like to see even more items. I am able to get food from all over the world here and their may be foods I could eat safely..Version: 4.7

Very useful for histamine intoleranceCurrently I’m with a diagnosis of psoriasis but using this app for tracking & controlling histamine levels in my diet has enabled me to reduce the symptoms by 99%. The symptoms are itchy little blisters that form a dense rash everywhere on my skin..Version: 5.9

Very Useful!I love this app, and all it’s detail. Plus, support was really helpful, and quick to respond to my email, when I had something I was trying to sort out..Version: 5.4

Useful, but...Need the option of adding my specific Anaphylactic food allergy (not one of the allergens included) Also not a fan of the additional level costs. Was given the impression that $19.99 unlocked everything. 🙄.Version: 5.6

Great app. Could use some other features.I like the app and the information is great by single food item. Would be good to be able to upload a recipe from internet rather than add it by single ingredient..Version: 5.5

Absolutely love itI’m celiac… lactose intolerant and I have IBS… this app is a game changer for me!! Thank you.Version: 5.4

WOW!!!Thank you so much to everyone who initiated this project and work on making this miracle tool in an era of so few doctors are able to help. Thanks a million to all!.Version: 4.7

Why not oxalates?Including info on foods with oxalates would make this app complete (see the Trying Low Oxalates website). Otherwise a great app!.Version: 4.9

Where has this APP been all my life?Absolutely life changing for me. Wow..Version: 4.7

Very useful appThis app contains information for thèse suffering of a food intolerance. You can filter the food according to your food intolerance. You can get how much Sugar, fructose, histamine, etc. there is in Each food. I strongly recommend it. The best one!.Version: 3.4

Hidden costsApp seems good but after spending 5.99 for app they want 2.99 more to unlock items that should have been included in the first place..Version: 2.2.1

Good like a book but no updatesDealing with too many different intolerances to remember everything. Using the provided settings I was able to get a good starting point and it alerted me to many foods I hadn't realized were the problem (I had been blaming the wrong thing and continuing to eat harmful stuff) You can also change individual foods if you start to notice a pattern of something painful Now I can eat meals and continue my day as normal lol But they don't do any updates and you can't add your own food. So basically it's like buying a helpful book. What you get with your purchase is all you'll ever get. And you can sort of write notes in the margins. Good book though.Version: 3.5

A real help for problem foods !I bought many books to help me identify foods that cause me digestive and bad reactions; but it is very difficult to use on a day tomday basis; at last, this program is a pratical solution that help me plan my meals and avoid problem foods; also, I can use the french names of food I'm looking for..Version: 3.4

Love love love this appI am dealing with a histamine intolerance right now and this app is proving a very useful reference. Thank you so much for creating this app and look forward to any new additions. They are super at keeping this app updated and i so much appreciate having apps out there that deal with allergies/intolerances..Version: 3.3

Very Helpful!Have used this app for a couple of years now and find it quite helpful. I would like to see the food list expanded and add a shopping list 😊.Version: 3.2

Very easy and completeHighly recommend for anybody with histamine intolerance..Version: 2.1
