Nice app.I got this app for my toddler son. He loves it, and I like it most of the time It is simple, has a decent sound (better than most, if not all, of the piano and xylophone kids apps I've come across), and I love that the keys are big enough that they are easy to touch the key you want, not the one next to it. My only complaint it the ads. My son hits the ads often and then yells at the iPad because he gets frustrated that the xylophone went away. I would very, very happily pay a dollar or two for this app to not have the app, but there is no Pro version. It is a big enough issue for me that I very often dread my son asking if he can play it, and sometimes hide the app and encourage him towards other ones..MouseAnnieVersion: 1.0.1

Beautiful tones, easy to use, great app for any age!This is really wonderful. It sounds JUST like a real xylophone. I downloaded it today (7-9-11) and both our 11 month old and 4 year old thought it was great. It responds perfect to the touch (even the double handed "attack" style of the 11 month old!) and what makes it even better for the younger set... NO ads! Keep in mind, it is SIMPLE, it's a single screen, but as the name claims... it is an AWESOME Xylophone :) UPDATING my review as a result of a recent update by the developer... This WAS the perfect app, until they put ads at the bottom of the screen ... big full length ads that my daughter hits EVERY time she tries to play it :( like others have said... a paid version would be great, or put the ad at the top so it's not quite so intrusive to the app itslef..Juliet1198Version: 1.0.4

Would pay to lose adsThis is a great little app. My two-year-old loves it. I would be happy to pay a couple of bucks for a version that had no ads. I don't want the little one hitting one of the banners and launching an advertisement, and potentially seeing things that we didn't want to or having options to buy things. Great but ads interfereMy 7 month old loves this app. She loves hitting it with her hands. Unfortunately, we can't go more than 10 seconds without her hitting an ad and opening it up. I understand you need ad support, but maybe put it in a loading screen or give us the ability to turn off the ability to open them temporarily. UPDATE: I think it may actually be worse after the update. Simple and Works!I can understand why this has only a 3 star rating. This is one of the first apps I downloaded and it's worked perfectly ever since. It's colorful, it has virtual [drum]sticks, and the notes sound perfect. You can hit each note individually and you can slide your finger up and down like a piano. My niece loves it. Really good app but...The ads should not be clickable. My son loves this app more than the baby piano app but I can't let him play it because he keeps opening up the ads. If you could put in a lock button that makes the ads so you can't open them but can still see them it would be great... Fun AP, crappy ad placementMy daughter loves this but with the ad always on the bottom, I spend more time clicking out of the ad for her than she does playing. Another one...So I have to write yet another review explaining why I think it is a horrible idea to put clickable ads in a app aimed at young kids. Honestly I think developers do it in hopes that parents won't pay attention, or not care and let their toddlers play with the bright "ding ding toy!"... all the while wracking up ad revenues for them. Ruined by adsThis was a five star app until they added ads. DO NOT UPDATEThis used to be a great simple app for my toddler to play with. The previous update changed the graphics which caused some artifacts (iPad2), but made no difference in functionality. Among the advertised improvements this time, they fixed the artifacts and added rotation support. Nice. What they failed to mention is they also added advertisements. Touch sensitive (of course). While it currently is just a 'test advertisement', it doesn't matter. My toddler still touches that area, bringing up a popup the requires you to close with the little x in the corner. Note to the developer: your target audience doesn't get a very large allowance to spend on whatever will be advertised. If you was to make money with this app, charge for it.
