Never steered me wrongI was an avid flyer as a kid but developed a serious phobia of flying as an adult and was looking for a good while for factual assurance I would be in for a smooth flight whenever I had to fly. Turbcast has certainly put me at ease and helped me plan for when it may be worth pushing back my flight due to weather, when possible, and I don’t travel without it these days. Amazing for the anxious!I have had this app for years and I always use it before I fly! It’s never given me a wrong forecast. It also does an excellent job of explaining what turbulence is and how it’s essentially harmless, just scary. There is also a panic feature! Great idea but needs a bit more.I would like to thank the developers for coming up with this app, it's a very helpful app for those that are scared of a few bumps or just a good app for aviation enthusiats, but there are a few things that can be added to make it an even better app. 1) Right now it's only possible to check for turbulence within the U.S., add the option to check for turbulence in any part of the world. 2) Add maps to illustrate where along the entered route turbulence will possibly take place. UsefulAlthough a bit pricey but it's worth it ... My sister has a flight phobia and she is always very scared. Turbulence during the flights make things worse for her . The last time we flew together ; I used Turbcast and it predicted that there would be 'Low Risk' , ie smooth with few bumps and it was absolutely right . Great support for those who fear flyingTurbcast helps those who need to fly cope with flying. Not only does it forecast the chance of turbulence on any given flight you input, but it also gives you the resources as to how to relax, how to focus away from the anxiety, and what types of turbulence you may encounter. It is reassuring to know that general turbulence will not cause a plane to crash and that airplanes are built to withstand the stress it flies though. Great Turbulence appI've never had much of an issue with turbulence but I have a family member who does. We downloaded this to give him peace of mind it really works! It gave him great info on turbulence and we have found the forecasting to be very accurate across several trips. Good for new/anxious flyers!I love how they provide alot of information on how to handle turbulence as well as related issues! Good in theory, bad in practiceOkay so based on a passing recommendation in an article about combating flight anxiety, I downloaded this app. I have a flight tomorrow. I am not a good flyer. I spent money on impulse. This is a bad combination. This review will probably be shown in memoriam. Because I will have died of anxiety on my way to the actual airport. The app is clunky. Half of the buttons don't work, the touch screen is nearly nonresponsive. I can't click the 'i' button to figure out what the 'panic' button with the sound/alarm icon will do if I accidentally click on it. Will it shout 'WARNING I AM A TERRIFIED FLYER, BUY ME A SHOT IF YOU DONT WANT TO BE PUKED ON!' Or a series of slides you can rapidly click through with with brief positive messages like IT'S FINE/TURBULENCE IS NORMAL/PEOPLE FLY REGULARLY FOR A LIVING/YOUR BRAIN IS LYING TO YOU/JUST BUY THE ALCOHOL [I might be an addict] /THINK OF THE TACOS WAITING FOR YOU WHEN YOU LAND!' Who knows! Any buttons basically at the top or sides of the screen won't engage for me. What's more, a few airports won't work for me. Including, you guessed it, the airport for my flight. The video won't work for me either. Do these features exist or am I in a sandbox/beta app?? So far I don't see what was worth spending the $2 on. I'm sorry, I love the concept of the app, I hope it develops in the future, but at the moment my money would probably be better spent on an 8am shot of vodka, or toward the therapy that I so desperately need but can't afford. InaccurateThis app is not very accurate. I had a flight yesterday from Atlanta to LA and it said "high" turbulence at takeoff and the takeoff was very smooth! What scares me now is what will happen when it tells me "low" and it ends up being severe! it needs some adjusting to its accuracy. I have a different turbulence app that is more accurate.
