Bike Tracks App Comments & Reviews

Bike Tracks Positive Reviews

Great bike appVery extensive home screen with a lot of info. Is great at not running down your battery. Speed is very accurate and better than others apps. The only thing I really want is heart rate display from Apple Watch. I would pay again for a new version for this feature.Version: 1.3.1

Bike TracksI love this app. It’s simple, easy to use and doesn’t seem to be a big battery drain. The graphing features for elevation and speed are interesting and the history and mapping are great. You can view your completed ride switching from map to aerial photo view, zoom in and use that feature to spot alternate trails and connections you have wondered about or otherwise might miss. My only complaint is that although distances and elevations seem accurate, the climbing and downhill statistics never match even though I start and end at the same place. For example, a 2 hr. 21 mile ride yesterday showed 1317’ climbing and only 1210’ downhill —room for improvement I guess. That said, I feel I’ve gotten more than my money’s worth and wouldn’t trade this app for other’s I’ve looked at. It’s perfect for the mix of recreational road/trail/mtn. biking I do here in Colorado. I can’t wait to try Ski Tracks come winter..Version: 1.3.1

Good Tracker but could be betterI like the logging of distance, time and climbing statistics. I use this app to keep my annual cycling log. I wish there was an option to export the log data (date, distance, time, elevation) for a period of time (like a year or a month). I don’t find the export of individual geo tracks to be useful. I really dislike that the application inserts “New Track” in the name field and “Echo Mountain Park” in the description. For every ride... The app is linked to a GPS and the cell network; why can’t it put the place name in one of those fields? Then the user would have the option to update with the name and/ description of their choice. Ski Tracks, made by the same company, knows what ski resort I’m at and inserts that info in the log..Version: 1.2.6

Great touring companionThis app’s Open Street Map integration made it an incredible companion on a long cycle tour through Europe. While there are always more features that would be nice to see, it was just enough with live location that we could reliably use it to navigate the maze of trails down the Rhine valley. I’d only ever used it for stage tracking and was pleasantly surprised to find that crucial piece of my navigation puzzle!.Version: 1.6.1

Everything you needThis app is fantastic! It has every stat you could possibly want. I use it for cycling and hiking. And the gps locator was perfect when on a hike along the PCT we found an abandoned campfire still smoldering with flames spreading. After 200 trips to the nearest pond to fill water bottles we hiked miles to get cell service. I was able to contact the forest service with the exact coordinates who later arrived to be sure it was 100% extinguished..Version: 1.5.1

Data is beautifulIt is both the simplest and best bike tracking app I’ve come across. Others nag you for social network credentials and ratings but this one just gives you your data. All of it! It Tracks so much and feeds it directly into apple health. Support is also great directly from the developer. Highly recommended..Version: 1.2.6

Great App!Love both Ski and Bike Tracks. Work quite well and are fairly accurate, (though I am a bit skeptical of the peak speeds). I have also used Bike Tracks for hiking trips, which brings me to a suggestion...Why not simply have a single "Tracks" app that allows the user to select Biking, Skiing or Hiking? (Or even paddling if so inclined!).Version: 1.2.6

A good app with great supportClean UI and simple to use with great depth of features. It’s a nice way to log ride without the baggage of other apps—Strava and Map My Run. The support is phenomenal for a low-cost app. I had a couple questions and they took care of me quickly. Highly recommended!!.Version: 1.4.1

Like it BUTIt seems to be fairly accurate however wish it had auto pause/resume so when I stop to cross a road or other it doesn’t keep time enroute counting..Version: 1.3.1

Don’t care about elevation changeCouldn’t care less about elevation change, wish there was a setting that will only track climbing… or if there is, I have yet to find it in settings.Version: 1.6.1

Love itI’ve been using since 2016 and have about 9000 miles tracked, both on pavement and mountain biking. Does all I need it to do except pick me up after I crash.Version: 1.5.1

Needs motor cycle optionI use it to track dirt bike and dual sport rides, but the closest choice it has is mountain biking. Works great, would rate 5 stars if there were a motorcycle option..Version: 1.4.1

Love ItLove it, but would love it more if the profiles of altitude and speed had both time and distance..Version: 1.2.6

Great bike appI’ve been using this app for years. For both mountain and road biking. And for hiking! Easy to use and lots of fun information..Version: 1.3.2

Background refresh? Will not work and unable to “refresh”.Version: 1.5.6

Feature request - add calories burntCould you please add calories burnt stats?.Version: 1.5.7

Getting it to startHaving trouble getting app to start. Will not ST tart at the beginning but 5-10 minutes into the ride it will. Frustrating..Version: 1.4.1

Calories pleaseGuys, I like your apps Ski Tracks and this one. But could you please add burned calories too?.Version: 1.2.6

Bike TracksLove the App, also use Ski Tracks in the winter. Please add Heart Rate and I will give the App 5-Stars!.Version: 1.5.6

Great app, well worth it, almost perfectI agree with the above reviews. It tracks very well, multiple rides on same trails are pretty closr to each other. Impressive because a lot of the trails are in canyons where service isnt that reliable. Occasionally the plot points are too far apart and s-turns at speed get straightened out. I also got a response from the lead developer and he is all about input and responds accordingly. I hope a furure release adds the ability to drop placemarks so you can split up a ride into your own data blocks. It tends to miss label descents and ascents but thats a small detail. Awesome app! Get it and get out on the trails!.Version: 1.1

Best app out there so farA lot of bike apps on the app store are decent. But this has topped them all. The others either lack the one thing you really need, such as offline maps, or they're just too cluttered and filled with junk you just don't need. This however, has just about everything you could ask for. The plus for me is having the ability to store maps offline and be able to use them when on a ride. Right now, the only thing it's lacking is a calorie counter. I sent and received an email from the lead developer himself and was informed that a calorie counter would be coming in a future release. Once that comes out, this would pretty much complete the app and have everything you'd really need. So far, this app is worth re 3 dollars, and I don't buy too many apps from the app store either..Version: 1.1

The best yetI can't believe there's isn't more feedback for this app. At least it's positive. This app is by far the most accurate I've used to date. I've used MotionX-GPS and Cyclemeter they have great reviews, but those people much be smoking something or have nothing to compare the data to. The altitude on those apps are way off. By like 400 feet. The speed is right on, but not good enough for me. I have pretty nice equipment to compare the data to, but I only want to bring my iPhone with. This is the first app that can make that possible. Thank you. Now make it even cooler..Version: 1.1

Saves your battery, great app.I came to this from ski tracks and love it. I agree not sure why not more reviews. I have used since it first came out last July. Four stars because no updates since then. Very accurate and great user interface. Used map my ride and it killed my battery in three hours, Bike Tracks lasts all day. Needs update to give moving average, sensor for ant devices for cadence and heart rate, leader board to keep track of your totals. Will give 5 stars if they add these features. If no update may switch to Strava..Version: 1.1

Easy to use!My girlfriend and I go on a lot of rides and decided we needed a way to track a ride we were on half way through it. We took a quick water break, read a few reviews and decided to go with this one. Downloaded quick and easily, and accurately tracked the rest of our ride. There are some nifty built in features we haven't fully tested out yet, But I will update this review if do find any errors. All and all a cheap alternative to a more expensive bike computer and fairly accurate to boot. I recommend it..Version: 1.1

Great App but some glitchesLove it. Have the ski version too. However, the camera feature can be buggy. Sometimes it opens the camera and its just all black, have to close and reopen. The units on the second screen keep going back to metric, have to go into settings and cycle back. When you post to Facebook it doesn't post the map. Other things would be cool like theme colors. Other than that it's very reliable and accurate..Version: 1.1

Almost OutstandingUnlike many geosynchronous apps, the locator is either "Always On", or "Never." I experience unnecessary and unwanted battery drain if I forget to turn location services off when I'm done using it. I would like to see the option of location services activation "only when using the app." This wheel has been invented, and would fit nicely on this bicycle app..Version: 1.2.4

Close to perfectionGreat app! If you're a skier you need these guys' SKI TRACKS app. All in all, this bad boy is almost perfect - especially for a phone app. 99% of riders don't need a GPS if they have this. A few improvements I'd love to see: 1)Position plotting - selectable intervals: I find that on tight switchbacks it misses turns because the interval is too long. It would be better if you could select the interval according to your riding style, knowing that this will affect battery life. 2) Proximity sensor: SKI TRACKS uses the proximity sensor. Why not BIKE TRACKS? 3) Position tags: It would be sweet if you could tag the beginning and end of sections you wanted specific data on - and if this could be done with voice-recognition that would be ground-breaking..Version: 1.1

Really good... almost perfect.I really like this app, its look, its features and functionality. But, it's a twitchy app! Certain things cause it to close and it needs to be relaunched. I have done my best to determine its triggers to avoid shut downs. Most surrounds using music while using on new track. Once this is fixed will be perfect. Please fix soon... frustrating when happens even once on a ride!!.Version: 1.1

Works for dirt bikesI use this app for off road dirt bike riding (motorcycle). It works pretty darn good for it. Even though it is for bicycles. I have tried other trail trackers. Which drains the battery quick I ran this app for 5 hours and had 66% batt. Left when done. Marks out trails nicely. I love all the tech. Info. Best app for dirt bikes I have found..Version: 1.1

Love appsYour apps (Ski & Bike Tracks) are great and are spot on for the info a skier or biker would want. I just wish you would make one for trail running too. I've tried Strava and Under Armor's apps for trail running and they really are more for urban running. Your Bike app would do a better job at giving me the stats I want. Please make a trail running app!.Version: 1.2.4

Good, but not perfectBoth Ski Tracks and Bike Tracks are excellent apps when active, but both drain my battery when not in use. They would be perfect if they included location tracking "only when using the app”, like all other good geosynchronous apps. ;-).Version: 1.2.4

Extended user report -- updated and happyI've been using this for years. Had some problems after iOS 8 update, turned out to be a GPS updates in background setting I had erroneously changed. Love the way it saves rides and stats..Version: 1.2

Seriously great bike app.Biketracks is my goto applicaiton for recording rides and providing summary historical information. I use Strava as well for comprtative information but I prefer the user interface and features of BikeTracks for a primary bike app. My only ask would be for a offline sync service similare to MyFitnessPal and Strava..Version: 1.2.4

Great appAfter messing around a few apps, this by far is the best. Love the dark profile, makes it easier to see on the road and overall it runs great. It just lacks the calorie burn which I would love to have..Version: 1.1

Great AppI have had Bike Tracks for over a year and I recommend it for all biking levels. I have used it for both road and mtn. Biking. I especially like the low battery usage. My old one was horrid. Get this app it works..Version: 1.2

IntuitiveAmazing app for easily tracking your bike rides. You get a detailed map of your route plus tons of stats like ride length, average speed, vertical gained, max elevation, etc..Version: 1.1

Great app's!I really enjoy using the Ski Tracks app, & the Bike Tracks is also very good! How about creating a "Dog-Walk Tracks?" I use the Bike tracks app for this, but I would like to organize my exercise & keep the use data separate. My Alaskan Malamute keeps me in shape!.Version: 1.2.4

Good but Could be so much betterLove this app when I first got it. Battery lasts more than seven hours on the trip. There is a Software glitch where kilometers is swapped with miles but they said they will fix that. Still waiting for the software update. Now my program doesn't run..Version: 1.1

Love itI am new to cycling but it does everything I would like. Makes my bike monitoring easy to use and easy to share. Maps routes, calculates my speed and distance, perfect App..Version: 1.1

MooseThis is a great app very worth the price. I used it today for the 1st time on a ride and was totally happy with how it worked. Looking forward to using all the time....A+++++.Version: 1.1

UpdateI've been using this app for nearly 2 years and love it, but your recent update erased ALL of my history. Lost all the notes I had made, fastest times, milestones etc :(.Version: 1.2

Nice AppFinally found a bike app I can actually read in bright sunlight! Worth buying. Great features. Only wish it had an auto-pause function..Version: 1.2.4

Mapping and FacebookGreat ap but wish the route map would post to Facebook That is more what you want to share with friends not stats..Version: 1.1

Auto pauseI like the app. However, I would appreciate having a setting to automatically pause and resume a ride during a workout..Version: 1.6.1

Very useful!Core Coder's apps are very good. Battery efficient; run it all day and use less than 25% of your battery. I use the app a little bit for biking but a lot for hiking (I wish they would adapt this app for hiking). Good and interesting dsiplays, integrationwith the Health app. Only complaints are there are occasional disparities between the distance shown on the maps and show on the displays by up to 10%, and that the altitudes remain GPS based instead of being linked to the altimeters in the 6 and 7 phones..Version: 1.2.4

Provide edit feature?Hi! I have occasionally left my ski tracks and bike tracks apps on and driven off. Of course, this skews the information of my exercise day. Is there a way to be able to edit the track after it is finished, and remove /clip away/ the extraneous data? That would be really cool. I look forward to you letting me know. Thanks.Version: 1.5.3

Incredible app!Never the noticed the ‘trim’ function before; is that new? It’s the most incredibly useful thing, for cutting off those segments when I forgot to turn off the recording and drove away. Fantastic app, made that much better!.Version: 1.5.3

Not workingFails to locate my location. I’m not in the Alpa..Version: 1.5.0

WaypointsYay! Just noticed I can now remove the Waypoints! Did you guys do that or was it a Google Earth update? Didn’t see it in Version History..Version: 1.4.1

Love thisI use this app all the time it works great. I have used both in city and in the mountains. The ability to trim the beginning and end of the track is invaluable. I love it's graphs and the ability to replay the track although for longer tracks it is a bit of a chore. Several people I have shown it to have no purchased it. Also own ski tracks app they have. If they adapted this to be a paddling app I would buy that version as well. It could be awesome for training for sprints and workouts with a bit of work. I wish it worked on its own on the iWatch but do not know if this technically possible..Version: 1.3.1

Great AppI had the Ski Tracks app and thought it was pretty good so I thought I would check this one out. It is pretty similar, but with a few changes for the biker in mind. I really like the fact that it gives my a lot of data about my rides for $3, as opposed to buying an expensive bike computer (it provides info on speed, elevation, time, mapping info, and allows you to record and rate each ride). The only way I could see improving the app would be to have information on the trails so I don't have to buy guidebooks or download separate apps..Version: 1.1

Awesome!!! By Larry SchultzGreat app... Use it with my quad...has saved my bacon a number of times getting me back to my truck. Sometimes a little finicky. Couldn't figure out how to use a Garmin and this one is quite user friendly. Have used the photos which gets tagged to the trail for reference. What would be the coolest if we could attach videos to the trail and do little documentaries...also the KMZ loader is a bit of a pain but all in all this app is a steal!!!!.Version: 1.1

Very impressedFrom analysis to maps, this app has it all..Version: 1.1

Use it for longboarding speed! Also works great for biking!.Version: 1.1

Fantastic AppHas everything needed except a total of kms of all the runs to give you an idea of where you are in terms of your season..Version: 1.2.3

Not acurated on speed missing minimum 10%Did test with a car... Never the good max speed..Version: 1.2.4

GreatUnreal app! If I could add anything it would be a season total and fix the bug where it crashes if you try to record video while recording a ride..Version: 1.1

GoodI like that it has a compass but you can't import gpx files. So I'll still have to use other apps that do..Version: 1.1

Very goodGreat app..Version: 1.1

Excellent appI've had this app + others from this developer for about 2 years, and they all work great. Yes the Facebook thing needs to be changed, but it is minor. I do wish they would come out with there next update, I hope it has friends/peers location and a online web page that we could link and share are tracks and photos. Update 2013: can you please add the season counter to Bike tracks as you did to Ski tracks..Version: 1.1

Works very well as expectedThis app is well worth it, simple UI and lots of features. The one thing I wish was different was how it publishes to Facebook. It publishes 2 screen shots of the UI to an album, I would rather post a text summary to my status like some of the running apps my friends use. Could include the speed and time data. Maybe an option to choose between photos and text..Version: 1.1

Great App, would be even better with HRI love this app for riding. It's the best one I've used in terms of battery life. The only thing missing is connectivity with something like a Wahoo heart rate monitor..Version: 1.1

WOWExcellent app.Version: 1.0
