Great educational app!I downloaded this app for my daughter to play but haven't let her have it yet since I'm playing it myself! I used to know how to read music and this is a great refresher. I've only completed the first few levels so far and the game play is easy to figure out even if you haven't read all the instructions. You can play the game on three levels of difficulty so even when I completed a level, it was fun to go back and try it again at a more challenging skill level. The graphics are beautiful and charming. I can see Princess Piano starring in her own movie someday. My daughter who is seven and is starting to be interested in music will eat this game up..Version: 1.0

Great help to learn pianoDisclaimer: I got this when it was free. Turning learning to play piano into a game is a great idea. This children's training app uses one-note melodies to teach reading and playing music. The timing seems to be accurately measured, and the feedback is decently helpful. However, there's no metronome or musical accompaniment, which means you have to time everything visually by the title character's bouncing. (The lack of accompaniment is especially problematic with the final song, which is simply not melodic.) There's no auditory feedback beyond the notes you play, either. But it's a learning tool, not Guitar Hero, so that's okay. The last update seems to have fixed the biggest problem I had with this app. Just hope the other one (no aural indicator of timing) is addressed, as well as some bugs, and I won't have any other meaningful complaints. And I don't have a MIDI keyboard, so I can't say whether it's supported, but that would be magnitudes better than playing the on-screen piano..Version: 1.4

Educational and Fun!At $2.99 this app is mid-priced, but I found it completely worth the price. It is so well designed and beautiful to look at. My five year old loves it and has been playing it for hours. We even compete head to head to see who can play it better. She even took a song she learned from Princess Piano and played it on another musical instrument app! If you're going to get a musical education app, get this one. It's worth it!.Version: 1.0

A wonderful way to start learning to read & play music earlyReading & playing piano were skills that were difficult for me to learn as I started so late in life. I was absolutely thrilled to find this wonderful app to inspire, encourage and ease my 3 year old granddaughter into knowledge that will last her a lifetime. Well worth every penny and highly recommended..Version: 1.22

Good Game!I'm just starting to learn how to play the piano and learning how to read notes. This game is perfect for me because it teaches you where the notes are on the staff. I also like that you learn one note at a time, which is a good pace. I highly recommend this game for anyone who wants to learn the piano and learn how to read notes!.Version: 1.5

One of those rare times when learning really is fun! This is a terrific way to learn to play piano (right hand anyway). The visuals are great and the progressive difficulties of the songs really do help you improve your skills. Very impressed with the touch sensitivity on the keys too. Hope they come out with a version for the bass clef!.Version: 1.1

Boys love it tooI saw a video for this game and thought our boys (ages 8, 6, and 4) might like it for music practice, and they do -- they play with it every day. (Whether it actually helps them play the piano is yet to be seen, but at least they don't complain about practice time any more). The game looks nice and polished and I haven't seen it crash..Version: 1.7

Good idea, but has bugs2 my kids are learning piano (5 y.o. and 8 y.o.). I was looking for an app that trains sight reading. I've tried a few other apps - they are just junk. This app is very promising. Both my kids are using it. They have already unlocked about 60% of available levels. I never had any musical education, but I try to learn the notation to be able to help my kids with their piano lessons. I just have finished the last level. So i can give some feedback based on my own experience and on my kids' Pros: it looks like this app is the only one available that can train to recognize notes very well. I believe that anyone who uses this app every day for 2-4 weeks will have the notes burned into his brain. After using this app almost daily for 3 weeks I recognize the notes in split second, no mnemonics needed. Cons: Lots of bugs! - the princess often freezes when the song starts, then she skips the first note. - sometimes I cannot pause the game in the beginning of the song. - the list of users does not scroll, so you can have only 3 users. - sometimes I switch the user, but the unlocked levels are from another user. - the app should "understand" the fact that the student is using the onscreen keyboard. You can get 100% score only if you keep pressing the key until you need to play the next key. So it forces you to play almost "legato" - but this is very hard with the onscreen keyboard. The onscreen keyboard is too sensitive, sometimes it presses the key with a finger hovering over it (without the finger even pressing the key) - the app teaches only one octave in the treble cleff. What about other notes?.Version: 1.5
