Good radar appThe only reason I bought this app was that I wanted to quickly look at precipitation/clouds covering and see where it was moving. It used to be perfect in his regard - I could use the little slider at the bottom to move time forth and back and get the idea very quickly. With the new version the slider is gone and it is only possible to start plying the time loop automatically. I miss the slider a lot! On my iPhone 7 Plus the app itself seems to be working reasonably fast. I like the new layer settings - it's much nicer than it used to be. Plus, I like that now it is possible to select the combination of precipitation and clouds! As far as I remember, you could have one or the other before. However, this combination has a problem with animation - when I hit the play button it takes the whole loop to show the clouds/precipitation that move. The other layers work fine in this regard so it is only this combination that has the problem..PotrtoVersion: 3.5

From bad to worseLike many, I have had this app for years and still miss the slider. This has been a frustration for years. I have settled that it is gone. Over the last couple years, I have also looked for a replacement app and found none that compared to this app for resolution of radar and speed of loading. I also use RadarScope Pro alongside this app, but it is a more complex app and loads slower. I have liked the speed and resolution of this app. Until recently, I have been fine running a year old version of the app, concerned that I would not like the updates and I was content with the app as it was. But today, it just hung and hung and would not load any radar imagery. I figured it may be my old version causing a problem, even though it loaded yesterday just fine. So I updated it... wow, what a piece of junk app this has become. It is near exact to storm radar from the weather channel app but you have to pay for future radar also instead of it being included free. The resolution is so bad, so bad, so bad. You should probably change the name of the app away from Hi-Def. I will not continue to use this product anymore. Excellent AppA great app for when you want to know what’s happening now. Not only do I use it to track tornadoes and storm patterns during hurricanes (helps me discern just how close a tornado is when I get alerts on my phone so I’m not sitting in my bathtub needlessly😉). I also use it when I go to the pool and check it when I hear thunder (to see if lightening is close and so I know when to shut down my water aerobics class); AND to know when there will be a break in rain/storm activity so that I can take my dog outside to go potty. I have other weather apps and this is the one that is most useful. After you set up the layers you want to see (like lightening etc.) and your exact location, it’s very straightforward and easy to use. Well worth the few dollars it costs annually. Best weather appLiving in Hawaii the weather is as indecisive as can be. We have passing showers and those really affect me. Not to mention I love rain and geek out when I can tell my friends it’s about to rain and it actually does. This app is flawless. Ive tried to see who the developers are and figure out how their tech is so much more advanced than say the weather channel or NOAA: Clime. This app does exactly what it is intended to accomplish. Even if there is just a brief drizzle, this app will guaranteed show me at least 5 minutes before it’s arrival. One suggestion, I would purchase the subscription if you had Doppler rain alerts. Wx radarGreat app! But it has idiosyncrasies in some features. If you purchase the Future forecast capability, it’s 99 cents per month well spent. But for odd reasons, occasionally when you tap Future, the app gives you a No Thanks option or a 99 cents option—as though you never signed up for the Future forecast. Even more weird, when you select the payment option, it tells you that your subscription is active & next payment will auto-occur on xx date. So why the heck doesn’t it work???🤨 Update! Best and most accurate weather radar appI’ve been using this app for years and it’s always provided me with up to date radar and weather maps with information that helped me daily as I’ve worked on the beaches and on the water directly in the elements for many years now . As we all know the weather forecasts are only right half the time so when properly read these radars and maps with the different overlays can really help you see what’s happening in your area for your self in real time . This app is too bug-ridden to keep subscribing toAfter years of subscribing to this app and reinstalling again and again to try to fix the map display I’ve decided to unsubscribe and uninstall. Any time the app has been running in the background I have to close it and restart it to get the map to correctly display the layers. Support told me it may be related to an unstable internet connection but it still occurs on Wi-Fi using a gigabit fiber connection. I’ve tolerated it for a long time but Wunderground and CarrotWeather have similarly detailed maps and I can no longer justify $1/month for this glitchy mess. Newest update is greatI’ve been using this app for a number of years. A previous update totally destroyed its functionality by taking forever to update the data. As a consequence, I pretty much stopped using it and instead started using another app that loaded much faster but it didn’t have the feature set of this one. A couple of months ago, I decided to launch this app again and to my delight it loaded almost instantly. I can now swipe to different locations and at different zoom levels and it loads the data very quickly. Thank you! I now default to this app for weather images. Another feature I always liked with this app is it’s ability to zoom almost infinitely anywhere in the world. It’s cool to view streets in different parts of the world. Flawed new updateThis is a solid radar app I’ve been using for years, but the most recent update is a noticeable downgrade. The new location marker is too large and takes up more room on the map than necessary (the pin was so much better). I also don’t like that it now defaults to a zoomed in view of your location. I’d rather my location marker be kept off until I choose to turn it on, and the map default to wherever I was last viewing it before previously closing it. It’s also not terribly user friendly for left-handed users, who have no way to turn on the radar loop with their left hand without reaching all the way up to the top right corner of the screen.Bavarian baconVersion: 4.4.46

* Radar imagery needs improvement *My radar imagery is no longer colorful or as sharp as it used to be in previous versions, why? And when you use the SATELLITE view it’s background is much too dark to easily see. (I do know how to change the layer transparency and this has nothing to do with what I’m talking about.) Extremely Handy AppWe use this app often when planning our outdoor events. Several years ago, we were traveling and there were heavy storms ahead. On Hi Def, I could see two large storms with a narrow gap between them. We could see the same thing in the sky and the accuracy was amazing. Another Repurchase 🙄I like the features. That’s why I bought RADARCAST (no longer in App Store). New update - slower on my phone, VERY sluggish on IPad ProThis has been my go to weather app for almost a decade. Doesn’t appear that much has changed, but whatever happened, it’s slow on my XS Max, painfully bad on my iPad Pro. (Toggling Satellite to Dark made it slightly better.) Will not renewI have loved this ap when I first started using it years ago. Decided to upgrade it, and now I wish I did not. Major factor of my dissatisfaction is the future Radar. Actually my only complaint. There is not a way to turn it off or change the settings so you can get more time of past radar. Forecast LackingI really like the radar, but for the last few months the forecast stats haven’t been current or correct. For instance, for several days our local forecast has called for snow on Friday. This app has only showed snow on Thursday…even Saturday…never Friday. Great with some glitchesLove this app when it works as it should. Unfortunately, the radar often does not show and the app must be reloaded a couple times until it builds the animation. The map will sometimes show no clouds / no activity even during a storm. Reloading a couple times will often resolve the glitch and the map shows the appropriate activity. Worthless with new versionHad an old version that worked great. Decided to upgrade to subscription version for future info and everything went to crap. First, I had to rebuy the app because the old one was under a different Apple ID. Then I did the upgrade to access future radar. When I did I got a window at the bottom of the screen that takes about a 3rd if you screen. Oh, and the tool bar is under that window. When you tap the X to close that bottom window, surprise it doesn’t close. So now you can’t access any tools located at the bottom of the screen. Went to the website to try to get help. Forget that! Very Useful AppI love this app for quick and comprehensive forecasting. While much of this information can be freely obtained, that requires you to visit multiple sites, often with limited scope of information. This app ties all the useful information into a one place and provides data from around the globe. I particularly like that it displays the vis sat imagery overlay on the precipitation radar even at nighttime. Being on the west coast, I also appreciate the zoomed out more global perspective which allows one to see storms brewing on the other side of the ocean days in advance. Bad reviews disappearIf they’d at least give us a REFUND for what we paid since this junk is now free they could at least get some decent parting reviews.I’ve written reviews, comparisons to the original PAID APP and also made suggestions for improvements numerous times and they all disappear or get blocked as inappropriate. I guess that’s how they rig the numbers so it appears like bunches of people like it when quite the opposite is true! I paid for the app back when it WAS good but now it’s just too ridiculous to tolerate... there’s way too many seriously GOOD WX apps out there to tolerate this type of amateur extortion. Do yourself a favor and don’t download it to start with. Nicely laid out, not worthy of a subscription though.What drives me nuts about this app is it’s constant need for you to subscribe to its paid service for reasons I find difficult to want to pay money for. Constantly freezes, locks up, glitchesI have literally sent the developers at least a half a dozen videos, showing them how their app does not work. In these videos I have sent them their app showing no storms, no weather and then in the same video switch over to a different app and another different app and another one. ALL showing severe weather currently in progress and this app shows nothing. Every video I sent them , have timestamps and dates to PROVE that my concerns are legitimate. Not a single response, no questions just completely ignore the emails but they take my money every month. They have no problem taking my $.99 a month for a product that just does not work. February Update is buggy!The February update (v4.4.38) introduced a bug in the daily forecast, whereby the app is now incorrectly displaying tomorrow’s forecast data as today’s forecast! I updated 3 of my 4 devices before noticing the bug. The remaining unpatched device works properly so the bug is definitely from the recent v4.4.38 update. To the corporate troll writing these so called “developer’s responses,” don't bother. I submitted a bug report with full explanation and screenshots almost two weeks ago and aside from the automated reply I have heard nothing from this outfit and the bug is still present. Good grief, what happened to this app? It used to be a great, but ever since they went to an overpriced subscription model, it’s all been downhill, slowly morphing into a cluttered, bloated dumpster fire where now they cant even get the daily forecasts info right. DisappointedSome years ago I paid paid for a lifetime membership which would entitle me to all the premium features. Now they want me to pay and additional $40 a year for the same features, with only a slight upgrade. I just hate it when people and companies don’t honor their commitments. Loved the older versionI like it except for the fact : every time they do a updated..it gets a little more simplistic for example: when I first downloaded this app able to login in and on the app post photos of weather for my location💕 now that’s not isn’t available anymore. Must change the auto-center featureI gave a negative review a while back because the auto-center feature when tapping the location button was so annoying. The developer response helped me understand how to move it around once I select my location. However, after months more use it’s hard to describe how annoying it is that the location button doesn’t default to simply showing my current location on the map. Instead, it zooms in much too far and centers on my location. Then I have to tap it again, and rather than reverting to my previous view,8 have to re-center it to the desired location and zoom level. Radar image disappearsII like the app but I ALWAYS to to restart my phone to get a radar image. I have 2 iPhones and it’s the same problem on both. I restart the phone, get a current radar image, come back 30 minutes... 1 hour later... no radar returns showing up anywhere... restart the phone... I have a radar return to look at again. The map is there there just no radar image. It would also be great if it would quit automatically zooming into my immediate section of my County every time I ask it to show my location. Latest update + response to developer’s response.Everything new in the latest update is great...EXCEPT the auto-zoom when tapping the location arrow. This, on its own, absolutely ruins all the improvements. Because it’s the first thing that it used. So, now...the second thing you’re forced to do is...zoom back out. It’s just pointless. - Just got a response from the developer, explaining the intention of the 3-tap location function. Yes, you explained it well. However, the second tap only zooms out to show the area of maybe a small county only. This is the problem. That is completely useless. It’s a waste of the function. App is going downhillLike other long-time users, I paid for this app for the great high resolution radar images. Now the app is increasingly annoying to use. Each time I open the app, I get a big pop up asking me to subscribe for a monthly fee. The historical slider keeps getting worse. It was at its best when you could slowly move a few frames forward and backward with your finger. Now the slider is on top. Even on my iPad, this means my hand is *covering the screen* when I move the slider. Also, 2/3 of the slider is dedicated to the paywalled forecast. If you activate the blue GPS dot, the screen will automatically recenter. This is fine initially, but not after zooming out and panning! Look, I know developers incur maintenance costs as IOS changes. Offer the users some upgrades for a one-time fee. But, people like me are not going to do a perpetual subscription so long as good weather websites exist. Sorry, that’s the truth. I would consider paying $10 or $20 one-time for some upgrades. Wow where is what a paid for new updateWas my favorite weather app would tell others this was the one to get. Now they have updated it so it the best features are gone. Who is the morons who changed it. They offer a monthly fee upgrade. I thought it might get back the features I had lost but did not, I unsubscribed after trying it. Racketeering !!!I paid for this application! I was forced to update it because the forecast stopped working suddenly. Now they switched the terms on me and want to extort more money out of me by forcing me into a subscription!! This is not how you do business. If you want to implement a subscription model, do it with new customers that agreed to your plan from the beginning, changing the terms on customers that supported you from the start with an agreed upon deal is just plain dishonest if not illegal. Please do not bother telling me to click on the “restore” option during the initial window because it just doesn’t work at all. Dissatisfied is an understatementI’ve had this app for some years now, I’d eventually been forced to update it, which I was hesitant to do due to reviews of how the quality has declined since the version I was on. Not only that, upon updating it there were new terms. They require monthly or yearly payments to use an app which I ALREADY PAID FOR! This is blasphemy. Downright wrong. When I paid for the app I was told I’d have access to it, it cannot be legal to eventually just say I have to pay more money to use what I already had access to. I suppose I’ll have to uninstall and find something else. It was a good app, until the developers got greedy. Paid for future weather but it never loadsGot this app because I work outside and the basic weather channel app wasn’t cutting it. I’ve heard good things from a friend who uses this app and decided to give it a try. I paid for the monthly service of future radar but it never works properly. The past radar works fine but when I switch to future everything disappears and it says it’s clear for about two hours before everything pops back up again I gave them my dollar and tried it for a month. Loads slow, screw your $0.99.When this app is firing on a cylinders it is beautiful! But your better be on good WiFi, or absolutely full bar reception. I work in Ag and travel around the Midwest. Having a reliable weather radar is crucial. I need something that’s gonna load even when I have only 2 bars of reception. Than I paid the $0.99 for the future cast and that lasted only a month.... now the future cast still says I need to pay even though I subscribed. Bottom line is, if your phone is connected to good WiFi, this is the best radar out there. They took away features.They took away features that were already included in the old app and now want you to subscribe for $3.99/month. No more storm tracks, widget, timeline slider, etc... Edit: I bought the premium version before you switched to the monthly subscription plans and when you did switch, you took away all my premium features. No refund, no apology, no nothing. Premium version not worth $49 per yearYears go I bought a lifetime subscription, But with the changes that occurred with this company five or six years ago, they didn’t honor the lifetime subscription. After that I’ve used their product, but the free version of it. In my opinion, the premium version additions cannot justify the price of $49 per year. If the developers reduced to $9.95 I think many more users might be interested in premium features, but not at the current price. AwfulAlready purchased the app once. It was great. Now a bunch of features were removed and they're looking for more money to bring them back. Not happening. Also found out they were doing so bad on the reviews since the rebuild they actually had to restore all the reviews from the golden age of the app to make it appear good. Has potential to be what the old app wasThe pre-2018 weathersphere radar app was my absolute favorite. This was is actually a decent replica of that one. Making the following updates would push it over the top; -Customization: Add back in the ability to slow down/speed up the loop, and add in custom icon locations. -Future weather: They have this option on this version, but it’s not the same as it was previously. Previously the past radar would seamlessly integrate with the future radar to create a smooth transition. The current setup is disjointed and stutters. It also does not connect with the past radar. This is my biggest complaint. -Rain notifications: Please bring them back! -General map smoothness -Money: I’d pay a flat 5-10 bucks for a remaster of the pre-2018 app. But this nickel and dime stuff is not great.
