OnSong 2020 App Comments & Reviews

OnSong 2020 Positive Reviews

A great app for solo is however be aware of some pitfallsThis is a great app for soloist. I am a solo guitar player and singer and have been utilizing this app for almost 10 years. Some of the most positive things about the app is organizing your show Set list, Books Artist or however you would like to do it. I love the way you’re capable of adding a song putting sticky notes on the screen to make you aware of certain situation’s in a song. Too many positive things to go over I would strongly recommend any soloist to utilize this app they will be delighted with it however. There are some downsides I’ve had some crashes were the app become non-responsive for up to 2 to 3 minutes sometimes. I’ve had scrolling issues. And for some reason or other sometimes it takes an awful long time to load a song. I would recommend anyone utilizing this app to have a back up iPad in the event something happens and they can’t perform the show. My biggest complaint would be that the app becomes non-responsive freezes for up to 15 to 20 seconds and this can happen multiple times during a performance. But for the most part I strongly recommend the app but there is some downside and pitfalls that you learn to work around. I strongly recommend that you do not upgrade to the newest version until you’re sure that it’s operating properly. And also set your iPad for manual updates not automatic updates so the iOS can be checked before it is used. Good luck.Version: 2020.7

Great product used every gigHas many features, I use it all the time for set preparation, song manipulation, love the transpose features because playing with multiple people singing in different keys! Dig the scroll function, the song playback helps greatly prior to a show (at almost 60!) can’t remember the rhythm of couple hundred songs anymore. Only one thing that I can say negatively about the product is going subscription!! It seems that in today’s world you can’t own anything, have to pay every month (a little less for living every month), may deny people on a tight budget the opportunity to use this product. I know several that were waiting to afford the IPad and buy the program (I have recommended the program and set it up for quite a few fellow players) 1 star off for the subscription only option coming..Version: 2019.11

Just Wow!!!UPDATE: I am still completely amazed at how OnSong has improved my entire performance. I do not go on stage without it! The best part is I have is set up on an external monitor hidden in a case that looks like an instrument monitor. Nobody knows it is even there which makes me look good :D I bought this so that I could consolidate my chord charts (digital and otherwise). It is just blowing my mind. It can control my lighting for me without even having to touch the screen (I use foot pedals to navigate through my sets). I no longer have to rely on my friend who may have had enjoyed himself a bit more then he should have prior to the performance. I can send charts to those who may be joining me on the stage during the week so that we are all on the same page before we get to the performance. I am ready to start using the Connect feature so that I can have an extra device with me and whoever ends up with me will see everything I am and I can keep my eyes on the crowd and not sending cues to whoever. The best part of this is when I had questions, the OnSong crew actually provided answers and helpful hints that blew me away even more. They provided clear consise answers and links to all their video tutorials. The app is better then any software/app that I have paid hundreds of dollars for in the past..Version: 1.99997

Must have app for Musicians!I use the app in church while playing on our praise and worship team. I digitized our church's entire library of chord charts which consisted of two 3" large ring binders. A lot of work upfront but now everything is on my iPad 4. You can transpose your chord charts on the fly, make up set list, etc. I use the Airturn brand wireless 4 pedal system to hands free scroll up and down the charts, turn pages, move to the next song without missing a beat while playing guitar. I've also used it to project the lyrics onto the screen for the congregation to follow along with the song. I've even taken my iPad and the OnSong app to Guatemala on our annual mission trips. It's so convenient to have literally 1000+ song chord sheet contained on my iPad. It seems I'm adding to my OnSong library constantly. There are many more features included that I don't even use yet. Of all the apps I've ever purchased this was the best $20 I've ever spent. The folks at OnSong are constantly updating this app and their online presence and customer support are the real deal. If you don't already own this type of software or have tried out other companies versions but we're left wanting more now is the time to get the OnSong app ( I am in no way affiliated with this company- I just love this app!).Version: 1.99995

I am in love with OnSong!!I have been using OnSong for several years and I absolutely love it. I saw a couple of reviews saying there are too many features as if this were a negative thing. You can never have too many features. I would rather have the it and not need it than need it and not have it. This is one of the things I love about this app. It caters to the simplest of demands or to the most techno savvy user without one interfering with the other, so as you progress in your OnSong knowledge and comfort, there always are more features for you to explore. You can create a simple song library for you to browse through as needed, or you can use that same library to create a set list which operates as simple as turning the page of a book. If you want to get fancy you can add a Bluetooth pedal to turn your pages for you while keeping your hands free. You can either share this list or print it for band mates or sound technicians. You can add a scroll, backing tracks, notes, comments, etc. too many for me to mention. I do not typically write reviews, so for me to do so means I feel very strongly about this app. If you are thinking of getting it and you are reading reviews to get reassurance, then stop here, buy OnSong and don’t look back. You won’t regret it!!.Version: 2019.5

Apple Pencil issuesEdit: In late October 2020, the Apple Pencil was working beautifully to notate my charts. Today, 1-9-21, it’s doing what it was doing in my first review, plus some even more crazy things like duplicating the chart before superimposing the charts on each other, but slightly askew. I’m so disappointed that I can’t write on my charts again. Original review: I’ve absolutely loved this app until last month, when my Apple Pencil went from working really well for notes on PDF’s, to jumping all over the screen like crazy. I was in a very important rehearsal situation, and almost got fired because I couldn’t get my entrances written in the right places. The screen would move around while I tried to make markings. So at the job, I was totally dependent on other people to show me when to play and sing. It was really bad, and could’ve been financially devastating. For the future, I’d love to see actual music notation option added to the program, even if it’s small scale. There are times when I’d really like to make even a sticky note with a notated phrase on it. As it is, I type in the phrase using the letters (which is very limited). Even a staff option, where I could just write in the notes with the Apple Pencil...assuming the pencil can write a circle and a line without shooting diagonally across the page....Version: 2020.7.3

One of the best apps I’ve ever boughtOriginally I bought the app because my friend said he uses it to store his worship music and I needed something to combine all of the chord sheets I’d printed out. First of all, it is great to be able to have all your music in one place and do not have to flip through all that paper. If I want to use paper for any reason, because I’m able to enter and adjust the chords to my liking, all of the chords will be in the same format. No more printing chords from random sites and reading 10 different formats. The features that blew me away though are the ability to change keys and being able to display the chord fingerings. I used to have to print several pages of the same music in different keys to figure out which one works best. Now I can test them all out in an instant. Since I am still trying to get the hang of some of the more complicated chords on keyboard, the chord fingerings is a tremendous help. I also just started learning the guitar and am able to see the fingerings for it for the same music. This app has been a huge help for my music organization and learning process. Totally worth the money..Version: 2020.5

Must have for worship teamsOnsong is by far the best app for musicians who use chord charts, beginner to pro level. We started using it since October 2012, and now it has become a must for all singers and musicians in our worship ministry. We have turned people to Onsong from countries in Europe, Central America, South America and the Caribbean. When we started, we were just looking for a way to get rid of a music stand with multiple music sheets. Our repertoire of songs are sung in different keys for worship leaders with different ranges. The task of keeping chord charts at hand as we are led to sing songs sometimes that are not part of the original set became very tough. Onsong allows us to carry the library of chord charts we've created over the years (over 700 of them) and have the ability to quickly find songs and change key in seconds! The app has multiple add-ons that will help even singers practice their parts without using any other app, like the built in acoustic guitar or piano soundbank add on. It will play the chords in a chord chart so you can practice in the appropriate key... There is so much this app offers, it really is a must have! It is worth the price. Thank you Onsong!.Version: 1.99995

OnSong is great for keeping all your files togetherUntil I learned about onsong I had word documents stored in folders and I had duplicates up duplicates. My filing system was a mess, my computer crashed a couple times and restorations caused many duplications. The more I tried to clean it up the worse it got. But now with OnSong, everything is in one place, it’s easy to back up and easy to restore. Can’t imagine how I lived this long without it. The program has a few quirks, but nothing that prohibits me from getting my songs and sets together. That’s my favorite part is that I can create as many set list as I want, and then archive them for future use. Therefore I highly recommend this program to any serious musician who is performing, or really anyone who wants to keep their songs organized. There are many more advanced features that I don’t use, such as midi implementation of lights and backup instruments. There many more features that I haven’t even explored yet. I doubt I ever will but I can see where a solo artist could put everything together to perform songs with back up midi instruments and be able to control stage lights..Version: 2018.1

Great Customer Service App Earned an A+I have used OnSong for three years now with The Gloryland Gospel Singers. I never had a problem with OnSong until I bought the latest iPad, I contacted OnSong customer support, and they promptly responded, within a few days of them knowing my problem, they corrected it with an update. OnSong works great! The problem: The Chord Bar while typing was posted at the top of the screen rather than the bottom, while at the top, if I touched it to enter a previously used chord in the song; it was unresponsive. Now it is at the bottom where it belongs. I want to add, having backed up OnSong to DropBox, it took less than a minute to upload over 300 songs to the new iPad. This is a powerful app, does what it says, and customer service is also GREAT at answering any questions you have in using the app. In addition, they have many well made tutorials to guide you. I strongly suggest you watch the tutorials before beginning to use the app. They also offer conferences during the year in various cities. I enjoy reading their Worship magazine which for now; is an extra perk. I hope it continues to be available..Version: 2020.0

SuggestionsI initially input full documents of many songs as individual songs, and that freaked it out so it shut down a lot. I'm now going thru the long process of inputting each of those songs individually, hoping that will make it shut down less frequently. So far I have two things that really annoy me: 1) When it decides a song is in a key different than it is, so the chords you see in edit mode are not the same chords you see when looking at the song. This drives me crazy. 1.5) It would be great to be able to split a song into multiple keys and not have it auto-change the chords. 2) It would be SO helpful to be able to insert photos similar to sticky notes. I am a visual learner and write notations to indicate the melody or my own shorthand for riffs/strumming patterns. I would love to be able to insert photos into the songs in order to have this important information all in one place. I haven't used the app much because it's been months of me inputting all my music the way I want it, and still relying on my paper music instead. I'll update this review in another few months when I finally have everything in and have switched to only using my iPad..Version: 1.99999

Great AppI have been using OnSong now for 8 months and have really enjoyed the app. My children and I are now using the same song lists when we play together. Lyrics projection and transposing features work really well. I took an old silicon keyboard cover, sowed a few pieces of small foam onto the back and forward keys, and use it as a pedal with a $12 Bluetooth keyboard when I am playing in front of an audience. I work with refugees who use Arabic script and this has worked well although when projecting lyrics the lyrics are always one section ahead for some reason. But I am thankful it works with the Arabic lyrics at all! I would love iCloud sync as I find Google Drive a bit cumbersome. And I would also love to have a guitarlele chord library for traveling as I switch to my guitarlele when traveling internationally. The Songbook app has this feature and so I export to that program when I play guitarlele. But I would love to have that feature in OnSong. Overall great app with easy-to-use features. Great job OnSong team..Version: 2020.5

First Help needed on 6 Years And They Were ThereThe title says it. I have been using the OnSong app for about 6 years now with no issues. Every service I am using it to run the click for the team, and the pad in the correct key for each song on the set. I have the app connected to a AirTurn BT200S-4 controlling everything I need right from my pedalboard. Super clean, and efficient setup. It just works! I just received a new iPad for Christmas and for some reason I could net get the keyboard to pop up in the app on sticky notes. The keyboard only worked inside the song editor. Being that the keyboard wasn’t working I used my ok’d iPad and went to the communication tab and reached help support that way. Once I reached them the communication was consistent. Within 1 working business day OnSong helped me resolve the issue. The app and the people behind it confirm I am using the correct product for my worship team. If you are on the fence and not sure, just do it. You won’t be disappointed. Thanks OnSong!.Version: 2020.7

Takes performance to a new levelOnsong offers the solo and small ensemble artist several advantages: 1) chords and lyric without notebooks, music stands, stand lights and wind clips; 2) set lists that are easily editable; and 3) INSTANT transposition of songs to any key (if you’ve bitten the bullet and spend the time to entert the chords in brackets). These three things alone are worth the price. The support via email is within 24 hrs usually, and quite on target. The backup functionality is essential, and I keep backups. Do be sure to go into airplane mode, wifi off, and shut off automatic updates before starting a gig. My big fear is that my iPad will fail, or Onsong will crash (it has not crashed for me on a gig at this point, so I’m confident). Keeping a duplicate iPad would be a solution, but, as a backup, I’ve printed out songs and have them in an emergency notebook just in case. Overall, I love Onsong and it has become an essential part of my kit..Version: 2020.7.4

The best thus farLet me start by saying every app has a glitch here and there and every program can force a shut down or freeze on a rare occasion this app has done both but the few negative glitches are far surpassed by the value added to our stage experiences! I have five devices and we love the ease of onsong onstage for transposing and uploading songs on the fly when someone swaps into a chorus from another song. We love that we can sync and control screens and that it has backing pads available. Honestly we are using 20% of the program! There is way more depth and breathe to this program that will scale up with us as we move forward. If I had my one wish granted it would be to be able to airdrop a song from one library to another (perhaps I just still dont get the beam vs share functions) and allow that so g to live “permanently” in the devices onsong library. 30$ one time is a spectacular value!.Version: 2020.5

This is a MUST HAVE APPThis is a MUST HAVE APP for any musician whether you are a professional or just learning. I have been using OnSong since mid 2010. I was introduced to it by a fellow musician who I have great respect for. He said “buy it and if you’re not happy, I’ll reimburse you for the cost.” Needless to say, I could only thank him. OnSong has so many “make your life easier” features it would take me pages to praise them all. But I will say, OnSong has eliminated the need for me to carry binders full of charts and deal with windy days while performing outdoors. Have you ever shown up to a gig and all of a sudden they let you know that we’re playing in a different key and it’s a complicated piece? Not to worry, OnSong transposes on the fly and with the ability to change font size and color, it’s a whole new world. The Auto Scroll feature tracks the song in real-time and it only takes a second to setup. I use AirTurn so my hands are now free when I need to turn pages and it’s effortless. I also use OnSon Console on my Mac when I am writing or just and to cleanup charts imported from other sources like Ultimate Guitar. I have added hundreds of songs and even custom organized them. I have set lists organized for venue, event, genre etc. If it was any easier, I wouldn’t even need to show up. In short, treat yourself to a totally great experience..Version: 2020.5

Great App WOWI have been in a working band for ten years. I play guitar and sing. I use to use sheets to help sing songs. Looked crappy and sloppy. We'll along came a new member to the band who had an iPad and this app. We'll once I was familiar with what was going on I tried this app., and now I think it is the best thing ever. Easy to learn, has great features. The video tutorials are great and helpful. We'll worth the price. If your are a working musician, you will not be sorry getting this app. It will make things so much easier for you in organizing your songs and your chord sheets. You can even make up your own helpful sheets that work best for you. There are so many features in this app that are so useful and great. The songs will even scroll as you are playing them. You can highlight chords, customize the sheet layout. Trust me this is a great app. I could go on and on. Bottom line , this app is worth a try..Version: 2020.0

Very good, overkill for manyOnSong has a ton of features. Like, a ton. While some are really useful, they add to the density and complexity of the product. You can have Libraries, Books within Libraries, and Setlists too. It can read straight PDFs, but mainly works using it's own text-based formatting and metadata system. This is really the charm of the app, as most other lyrics apps are really glorified PDF readers. With OnSong, I can edit song lyrics right in the app. While OnSong “syncs” in a manner to Dropbox, you can’t really use that feature to keep multiple devices in sync like other apps. It would be nice if OnSong used iCloud for real sync. Overall, I like OnSong and use it with several other band members in my projects. We all find it good enough, but kinda wonky, and we all get just a bit creeped out by how much the product is preconfigured specifically for the Christian church/worship market. I understand that that's where the money is at the moment, but it's been a bit off-putting to several friends as well..Version: 2019.5

Amazing game changing App!We have a band of 3 retired guys who play gigs using backing tracks (for the missing instruments). We previously used OnCue to play the backing tracks and had paper copies of the chord/lyric sheets (we're old, so we need the memory aid!). Onsong has completely changed the way we play. We no longer have abbreviated chord sheets (i.e. Verse - C G7 F, etc., then Verse; Verse; Chorus; etc.) and can play along with the lyrics and chords without having to do mental gymnastics. And it plays our custom backing tracks so we don't need a separate app for that. Really amazing piece of software and well worth the price! Update - A few times there have been issues (bugs) in releases (happens to all software). These guys have been extremely responsive in troubleshooting and fixing the bugs. Wish all developers were as responsive. Again this is an awesome app that has forever changed (improved) the way we perform!.Version: 2019.7

Great App, but Customer service could be betterFirst of all, I love this app and am very pleased with it. It is absolutely what we needed and I do recommend the app. With that said, I couldn’t give it 5 stars. I have been having an ongoing issue for several months now with songs being deleted from my library. The only way to communicate with OnSong is through email (which is another reason I couldn’t give 5 stars), so the response is never immediate and sometimes it is even days before I hear back. Several times I haven’t gotten a response until subsequent emails were sent. I really felt like OnSong didn’t care about the issue I was having and was told a couple times, “we are aware of the problem and an update is coming soon”. Today, the update finally came out, so I am hoping this has rectified the problem. So, great app, but customer service could be improved a lot!! Quicker responses and please start using telephone support!!.Version: 2020.7.9

OnSong for Rehearsal, performance and just plain fun.I have been using OnSong for over five years now. It is an indispensable tool for my musical practice, rehearsals and performances. The musical app is also helpful for the organization of my songs, chords, song sheets, and sheet music. The depth of the programming, its functionality and robust organizational capabilities are compelling and professional. Also the quality of the training tutorials on their website are vary thorough and easy to understand. Every primary and secondary component of the programming are covered in these tutorials in depth. One can easily learn all of the core basic and advanced functionalities of this musical software package on their own with this resource. I have guided at least 20 fellow musicians toward the use of this program and now we can all more easily share our musical journey through the use of the wonderful app..Version: 2018.6

IndispensableThe OnSong app is the single most important and valuable app that I have ever obtained, free or purchased. Everyone in my band now use OnSong and share our charts easily, facilitating practices and quick learning of new materials. Organizing setlists, inserting music to practice or listen over, creating a song chart- all are great features for performance musicians. I travel extensively and find many cruise ship musicians relying on their Onsong to maintain their setlists of over 140 songs that they are required to be able to perform. Simply put, I am lost without it anymore. That said, the support I have received from the OnSong team, particularly from the creator Jason , has been immediate and extraordinary...better than any other app I have. I highly recommend OnSong to all my musician buddies. You can’t be disappointed..Version: 2020.2

OnSong is My Everything App!!!OnSong is my Command Control Center for everything I do musically. Not only for lyrics and chords, but it all revolves around the chart. I have embedded MIDI commands that tells my BeatBuddy what folder, song and at what tempo to play, it tells my Quantiloop looper what bank and track to play, it tells my Headrush Gigboard what rig to load, and it tells my AirTurn Stomp 6 Bluetooth foot switch what buttons to use to control the BeatBuddy and Quantiloop using the gears feature. It is absolutely the center piece to my whole operation. I also use the Console to create and update my charts from my laptop extensively and save them as PDF files when needed. I can’t wait for the next version to be released and the Premium subscription to become available. This amazing app is only going to get better!!! Well done, OnSong Team!.Version: 2019.11

Wonderful when it worksThis app has helped our worship team transition to a fully digital format and streamlined my task of arranging the music as well as the lyric projection. I use it to wirelessly control my multi effects via Bluetooth MIDI. Unfortunately, it is not the most reliable, hence, the 4 star rating. We normally have one iPad controlling the other iPads but sometimes, one iPad would lose connection and the musician would have to manually move the screen to the next verse. It would sometimes move to the next song when all we wanted was to select the next verse. If during rehearsal, I change the arrangement to help with the flow, I cannot beam the set again until I close the app and try and try again. Another quirk is that if I switch to another app and then switch back to OnSong, OnSong crashes..Version: 1.99999

Longtime Favorite App!!!Having used OnSong for many years I can’t say enough good things about it. Even though I don’t come close to utilizing all of the features, it is one of the most powerful apps on all my devices. Additionally the support is amazing as well! I bought this app when it was more than half its current price, and would be willing to pay for upgrades (however they are always included), I think it is worth twice what they ask. *grateful it isn’t however. I am writing this while having a support issue, inspired by the experience. Any questions or issues I have had in the past have all been handled with amazing (specifically chosen the word amazing) customer service. There are 3 apps I go to constantly as a classroom music teacher and this is one of them!.Version: 2018.2

No words // Amazing! This app is hands down amazing. I’ve been using it for nearly 5 years now and it I now one of the sole reasons I have an iPad. I know you are thinking “this app is so expensive” if you are looking for an app to organize all your music, transpose keys, change keys according to capo, and organize set lists for your whole band then for real invest the money. The OnSong staff is supper supportive and have always gotten right back to me if I have any questions. The app is very clean and easy to use, yet still jam packed with amazing features. I use this app on stage at least twice a week and I wouldn’t change a thing. I can’t play without it now. BUY IT. It might expensive but in the grand scheme of things it is so so so worth it. I recommend it to any instrumentalist, ESPECIALLY if you are performing on stage..Version: 1.99998

Best App for Songs/LyricsThis OnSong app is perfect. I have over 400 songs in my OnSong library and choosing songs is a breeze. You can choose songs "By Key", "Artist", "Topic" or "All Songs". Loading songs into the library has different options. I like to add songs from SongSelect and have them imported into the library database and I also, like to tab songs using a PDF format and then adding them to the library database using iTunes home sharing. This really is a great app for viewing songs/lyrics. My worship team are all using this app and Bluetooth pedals work flawlessly. We have not found a type of pedal that didn't work!! The last thing I would say about OnSong is their technical support team. Great people and awesome feedback!!! Purchasing this app was worth every dollar..Version: 1.99995

Wow! Just Wow!I was an early adopter of iPad-ified music library. It was a tremendous benefit immediately when I did it 5+ years ago. Unfortunately, the company that developed my initial app went out of business before fixing a backup problem that lost about 1/3 of the database if you ever had to restore from iCloud or iTunes. So here I am, years invested in my library of 900+ pieces later and just one hardware glitch away from a disaster. The choice: migrate my library to a new app or go back to notebooks! So I decided to look at the industry leader: OnSong which all my friends (later adopters) now use...and Wow! Wish I had changed sooner. The smart design, the range of features, and really good ideas that have gone into this app are amazing. It works great and my migration isn’t going to be as bad as I thought it would be. I’m still migrating, will be for a while, but I already know I’m going to love using OnSong when I get there. I’d highly recommend spending some time thinking about how you want to organize your library. There are a number of ways to do it and time spent ahead of time, will save hours later. Great work OnSong. I’m really looking forward to working with you for a long time to come,.Version: 1.99999

Still waiting for a responseI submitted a support request on September 3rd and another on September 6th. I have not received a response for either one. The support files online have been difficult to search for the answers I’m looking for. In general, it’s an okay app. I would like to see more flexibility in the display options such as being able to center the title, relocating the time signature and tempo information to the left and the author to the right just under the title like most professionally published sheet music would have it. I would also like the option to display chords when projected. I sometimes lead a strum-along ukulele event for 50 or more people and it would be nice to display the larger text and chords of a section rather than in monitor mode where it displays the whole sheet. But first they need to improve their response time for support requests....Version: 2018.2

Don’t Buy For Sync Capability - Too Clever for Own GoodTL;DR - All your file management has to be done within OnSong. The sync engine always overrules the remote sync with the local files. - - - - - If multiple users are going to share a sync source (e.g. Google Drive > OnSong) spare yourself the grief. Just don’t buy this app. OnSong always looks to the local files to determine what to sync. So deleting from the shared source (Google Drive) causes OnSong to say, “Hmmm, Happy Birthday is missing from the sync source... I’ll copy it,” even though you deleted Happy Birthday (because you hate birthdays, right?) Songbook ChordPro is deferential to the source directory. So whatever the Google Drive has, Songbook replicates locally. This is fantastic for off-site collaboration. In fairness, I think the developer imagines you’ll use the real-time sharing/beaming function for collaboration. But if you’re remotely collaborating, updating charts, etc. this app is actually a train wreck. It duplicates files, it doesn’t seem to reconcile sync logs between multiple devices. “Horrendous” is not an overstatement. THE FIX: Don’t let OnSong be the boss! Provide an option where the local OnSong database is deferential to the shared folder. If both local and shared files exist, OnSong compares the dates and syncs the newest one..Version: 2018.6

My most-used app, period!Love, love, LOVE OnSong! I've been using OnSong in live performance situations for years now and simply can't imagine using anything else. I'm pretty particular about how I want my music to look and being able to immediately see what the song will look on-screen is a real timesaver for me! The advanced features such as MIDI implementation (including the ability to embed SysEx commands to be sent when I choose) has enabled me to automate so many aspects of our performances! I put the logic-based work in up-front so that when we’re playing a gig, I can just focus on the performance while OnSong takes care of the technical stuff for me. Thanks, OnSong, for making the best app on my iPad!.Version: 2020.7.4

Favorite AppOnSong is my Favorite App of all time. As a Worship Pastor who leads in worship every week, OnSong is an invaluable tool. We’ve been able to get rid of all our sheet music and clutter and be completely free to lead worship with just a glance. It’s amazing that with a press of a button we can have any song transposed to any Key. All our Worship Team members have downloaded this and it has expanded everyone’s knowledge. We love this App! A great learning tool for all those younger ones who are interested in leading worship as well. I’ve been a long time owner of OnSong, since the beginning! I bought an iPad just for OnSong back in 2012 or 2013 idk it’s been so long. Keep up the good work, God bless you guys!.Version: 2020.7.11

This app is absolutely THE BEST!Been a very convinced user for now, around four (4) YEARS! The support staff is absolutely awesome (if you may ever need them.). This app does virtually EVERYTHING from holding your sheet music, chord charts, lyrics projection, backing tracks, band coordination, lighting, on and on.....! Admittedly, there is a bit of an initial learning curve, but, there is with ANY app! This one, however, does ALL one could wish for for your sessions & performances. It just does SO much! Don’t go hassling them or ragging on them, ALL OF THEM REALLY, REALLY CARE ABOUT Y-O-U! Spring for ALL of it, LEARN TO USE IT, and I KNOW you will be amazed in wonder at how great this app truly is!!! There is NOTHING- NOTHING -NOTHING this capable ON THE PLANET as this app does in its oerformance!.Version: 2020.7.9

Game changer for live musicians! As a worship leader, multi-instrumentalist, and singer in almost a dozen different band configurations (and styles/genres), OnSong has quickly become the most important tool in my bag. Managing set lists, song versions, broadcasting to other band members is all table stakes for an app like this. But the ability to control MIDI means consistency across patch changes, tempos to my drummer's clicktrack, and more. The ability to even wirelessly control my DMX lighting means I can plan and execute entire shows - whether solo or with twelve pieces - flawlessly and consistently. The time saved using OnSong to manage my extremely diverse library of songs, backing tracks, MIDI changes, loops, lighting scenes, and more -- is staggering. Huge fan!.Version: 1.99995

Great app, amazing supportOnSong has been amazing for me and others in my band. It’s very versatile in what it can do and it’s easy to learn how to make charts that work with the app. I also love being able to control my music with a foot pedal and OnSong makes that easy. Furthermore, their support is out of this world. I’ve had a couple of minor issues along the way and they were quick to offer a solution. They have packed a lot of features into the app but it’s clear that their top priority is ensuring the app always works flawlessly. I know I can depend on OnSong to work each and every week, even with updates that come along. Major props to the OnSong team for creating a great app and supporting it very well..Version: 1.99997

Current updateMy submissions appear to have been resolved. New fix to suggest: -Adding New song: want to be able to be able to disable instructions that automatically come up. Saves a little time in adding new song..Version: 2020.7.6

Cream of the CropBest music app I have ever used. These people really care..Version: 2018.2

We'd be lost without itSimply the best available system to keep your band on the same page. OnSong Connect allows your bandleader to control all the iPads seamlessly, and instantly. As a longtime user, I'll suggest this: purchase a router (we use an Apple AirPort Express), and setup a LAN network for OnSong. It eliminates interference and dropouts..Version: 1.99995

It was the best! When I first got it, it was awesome! Now it just disappoints, crashes all the time and the app glitches a lot! I tried to contact their support team but no luck! It’s been happening ever since they went to monthly subscription!.Version: 2020.8.3

A must haveI have used this app for many years and felt compelled to leave a review. This is my stalwart companion at any gig or campfire I go to. I would say that the features available on it are far beyond what I use it for (displaying songs, changing keys, making setlists). I would buy this again in a heartbeat and it makes a great gift to a musician..Version: 2020.7.11

Great app, but Support is weakI’ve been using OnSong since 2013. Many musicians who see me performing from my iPad come up to ask what app I’m using. I always highly recommend OnSong to them. Their Support has always been excellent, until recently. It’s been well over a month and still no replies to several emails..Version: 2020.7.6

AwesomeThe latest update has made this app indispensable. Every singer-songwriter ought to have it in their arsenal..Version: 2020.7.4

Back to Great!Thank you for fixing the glitches from the last update. I love using OnSong... don’t know what I’d do without it..Version: 2020.7.6

OnSong.I play and teach ukulele and found OnSong a few years ago. The app is remarkably good. It is so versatile. If you play any type of instrument, you need this app. It is easy to down load songs from sites such as Ultimate Guitar and other sites that have songs for download. Once it is in OnSong, you can select the instrument that you wish to play the song on and OnSong will show the chord shapes for that instrument. You can change the key, or if you choose you can edit the song, words or chords and set a scroll time that will scroll the song as you play. I lead a group of ukulele players, who’s attendance ranges from 15 to 30 who all now use the OnSong app. Prior to this app being available I had to print copies of songs for all the players and being that some of the group played a tenor ukulele and a few played left handed, this was a lot of preparation work consuming a lot of time and money. With everyone in the group now having OnSong I can in seconds, send the song to everyone from my iPad to theirs. They can then select the type of ukulele they play and if left handed they can select left handed and the song chords and diagrams will change accordingly. When downloading a song it is not necessary to find the song for your particular instrument, because once in OnSong you can select what instrument you want to play the song on and it will change the song to that instrument. You can also have a backing track, such a karaoke, playing whilst your song scroll’s and you play and sing. The program has a variable beat metronome that you choose to hear if you so wish. If you play an instrument and wish to download songs this app is amazing. I have it on 2 iPads and my iPhone with over 1200 songs..Version: 2020.7.6

Best Service in Town!Product is EXCELLENT. Shame I only know how to use a small portion. Easy and effective, inexpensive, and the best part for any purchase, is the after sales service. A lot of companies "talk-the-walk", but Jason and his crew are not just "walking-the-walk"....they're RUNNING! Highly recommended. Why did they stop at only 5 stars? P.S. First time I have ever written a review. Never felt compelled before..Version: 2020.7.4

FabulousI know it will get better..Version: 2020.2

OnSong & ConsoleI have been extremely thankful to have had this app available for my songs since I purchased it, and the restoration of the Console portion of the program was handled with great expertise. I continue to promote this app for all musicians. Trev <):).Version: 2020.7.3

OnSongI’ve used this app for years now and have never been disappointed. Even when I’ve encountered glitches the support team has been prompt and professional. I highly recommend it.Version: 2020.7

OnSongBest app for all musicians. Awesome support staff. I recommend this app to all my musical friends and the one that bought it are really pleased with my recommendation and the ONSong app..Version: 2020.5

Used for many yearsGreat app. Used for many years without any issues. This has saved me lugging around reams of music sheets. Transposes, shows chords, has backups, can email songs sets to the team..Version: 2020.5

Best App for GuitarI have used this app for many years and love it. You can switch the chords from guitar to uke easily and back again. The best for the price for sure. I have many friends who saw mine and got it for themselves..Version: 2020.5

No brainer for EVERY Worship leader and bandIf you’re unsure because of the cost... THIS IS WORTH EVERY PENNY (and this, coming from someone who only uses FREE apps!). Revolutionized things for me. I used to carry around a heavy binder of sheet music because “paper is best”. Updating/editing songs was troublesome, and then keeping my band’s ‘database’ up to speed was a nightmare. Aside from saving thousands of trees, this app is amazing and keeps getting better. I’ve been using it for 6+yrs, and the folks over at Onsong just keep making it better and better (and in my few interactions with them, they seem like dedicated and highly competent people!). ADDITIONALLY, I use a Bluetooth foot pedal page turner... again, something I used to laugh at (“how hard is it to just swipe to turn the page?”). But being hands free has been GREAT for playing sets that keep a ‘flow’... and syncing all the iPads during a set is great, too — whenever I turn to a different song the other iPads follow..Version: 2020.5

Awesome AppOnsong is the best app I have ever purchased. Well worth the money, I have dropped my big binder of music for an iPad. Plus I can easily change keys, make set lists & easily edit songs..Version: 2020.2

Great AppI bought the App about 4 years ago and use it most days. Many useful features and fairly easy to figure out the basics. Great support from OnSong and online forum when extra help is needed.Version: 2020.2

Excellent app... it has changed how I play.I’ve been using this app for well over a year now and it continues to amaze me, in fact I just expect it to do what it’s supposed to do. I have a page turner and use this with my iPad. When I travel I always take OnSong. Even if I don’t take my guitar. I have a weekly jam session and I’m able to share my OnSong with the other players live while I control the page turn. When practicing I open console and have it connected to my Mac allowing me to make changes to chords and songs instantly which in turn updates on my iPhone and iPad. Gone are the days of books and paper shuffling. OnSong has changed my playing experience. Well done... Don.Version: 2020.1

Please fix OpenSong importHey Jason.... I don’t know when this started happening, but when importing songs in OpenSong format, all OnSong shows is the document header for every song. It used to import the song and its basic formatting perfectly. I also posted a request to the FB group that it would be really helpful if OnSong could use OpenSong format files seamlessly, so I could transfer them back and forth between my desktop and the iPad..Version: 2019.2

Best there isI’ve been using onsong for years. Every new release brings new features. If you are a performing artist or a worship leader, this is a must have app..Version: 2019.9

Great app and service teamDid my iOS updates today and my onsong app was not functioning properly. Contacted onsong and the immediately helped me resolve the problem I have thousand of songs from purchased apps and sheet music. Easy to find and share with friends.Version: 2019.9

Tool BoxIf ever there was a tool to perform a task, on song does it all. I think of going back to hauling binders/hard copies on stage and sorting threw them on stage, live and how easy and effective I’ve become using on song..Version: 2018.6
