Tinder: Chat, Dating & Friends App Comments & Reviews

Tinder: Chat, Dating & Friends Positive Reviews

Fantastic app but...Some bugs need improvement. Sometimes I open the app with a message from more than one person so I'll click on one conversation and the app switches the photos of the two people I received messages from. Next I was checking out someones profile when I swipe surge started. I was thinking about swiping right for this person but the swipe surge seems to have removed their profile and I never got to give them the swipe right. As someone who has just moved to a new area and is trying to meet people, this is extremely disappointing to see a glitch like that happen. A new issue that I’ve encountered frequently recently. I’ll receive a message from a match and can only access the conversation through the notification that pops up when I don’t have tinder open. If I open tinder from the home screen icon, it looks like the match is gone. But when I open from the notification that’s still in my phone’s system, I can still send and receive messages from that match. It’s starting to make me wonder how many matches I’ve actually lost and how many were just lost to a glitch in the system. Please fix this..Version: 13.8.0

Hit and mostly missSo, as a guy, specifically a man of color, the whole dating app experience can be polarizing. I’ve kind of experienced it all personally. On one end, I’ve had absolutely nothing happen: no matches, no conversations, very little engagement. On the other hand, I’ve had the opposite: many likes, matches with women I was legitimately interested in, dates, whatever. With that, as someone looking for a long-term partner, tinder isn’t great. The app is swarmed with bots and scammers for one thing, and it can be hard to connect with women on the same/similar page. Still, the fact that tinder remains the most popular platform kind of necessitates it thus far. I’ve even gotten platinum here recently and honestly cannot say that I’d recommend it. Very little good seems to have come out of it. Personally, I’m looking forward to graduating from grad school and having more free time to actually pursue a relationship outside of a cold, calculated app designed to capitalize on people’s desires for companionship (a very human desire mind you). At this point, it seems that the dating apps in general care more about cashing in rather than providing a decent service. Good luck to whoever reads this and I hope the new year finds you well!.Version: 14.24.3

Changing for the better?Honestly, Tinder has come a long way since I last tried using it. That might not be to everyone’s liking, but as someone hoping to find people to go out with and possibly develop a relationship with, I think it’s pretty good. At this point, Tinder feels like a decent mix of speedy swiping but with enough substance in a profile to get some sort of measure of the person beyond looks - when people bother to fill out their bio anyhow. Obviously it’s far from perfect but dating apps in general are probably a flawed concept. Probably half of the functionality is meant to make things difficult so that you give in and pay the rather significant subscription fees. One pretty specific complaint that I have is that with the subscription comes the ability to send people messages along with the “Super Like” feature. I honestly think that should be available in general without the need to pay. Could just limit the amount a person can do it. I also think it should be something you can do on profiles you’ve already swiped on. Anyways, back to using this app as a distraction and probably little else!.Version: 14.14.0

My “Tinderella” StoryI downloaded Tinder because a few friends told me to. I was nervous because I figured it wasn’t something for me. I’ve always been the relationship type of person so I figured an app known for other things was definitely not where I’d find love. Unlike some of these bad reviews I didn’t buy Tinder gold or anything like that, I actually thought the regular app was quite fun. I honestly got addicted to it and would spend a lot of time swiping. I swiped right on this adorable, tall, guitar playing guy and we immediately matched (yay). He texted me first and we hit it off straight away. Turns out him and I went to the same college and everything. We had SOOO much in common. After getting my phone number and facetiming for a couple days, he picked me up and we went on our first date, which would be one of many many wonderful dates. Little did I know downloading Tinder would lead to meeting the love of my life. Just thought I should share my “Tinderella” story on here to let everybody know that while Tinder is super fun, it can also lead to something more than just somebody to text or talk to. :).Version: 12.23.0

Cooperate strikes againI’ve seen the ratings go down for years, and here’s why: Tinder reasonably realized they made more money from people who bought tinder premium or gold in 2015. In the earlier days, tinder gold bought you the most basic upgrades, like unlimited swipes. Nothing special. Today however, they’ve gotten so greedy that they made two separate algorithms: if you’ve payed for tinder gold, you’re placed in an algorithm that will match you frequently with people who swiped right on your profile. If you didn’t pay, then you are enrolled in an algorithm that purposely avoids people who’ve swiped right on your profile. Furthermore, I’ve both the free version of tinder, and I’ve used tinder gold, and I’ve found that disgustingly, you find more minorities and people people with a larger body size tend to appear significantly more frequently on the free tinder algorithm. This overt prejudice blatantly contrasts with how accepting of diversity they seem on their advertisements. Don’t be fooled, Match Group clearly doesn’t care about you and your love life, rather on the size of of your pocket and the color/ shape you possess..Version: 12.20.0

Permanently banned for no reasonI had my account for not even an entire year (maybe 4 to 5 months) and I went to check my new likes one morning. I get in the app and it says I have been permanently banned. I immediately reach out to the $h!t]e$t customer service department in the world to see why my account was banned. Like so many others who’ve had this issue, nothing about my account violated or even came close to violating their policies. My pics were safe and clean, and none of my conversations were explicit or vulgar at all. I explained that my account was suddenly banned out of nowhere and I just wanted to know why exactly it was. When I got a response, they gave me a generic reply saying that unfortunately there’s nothing they can do about it. The ban is permanent. I got zero explanation for why I was banned and the message I got from them was clearly copied and pasted. Also (for those of you that don’t know) when Tinder bans you, you’re very likely to be banned from other dating apps as well. I tried Bumble afterwards and was banned immediately after creating my account..Version: 14.5.0

It works if you workSo I have a long history with tinder. I have downloaded and deleted this app several times over the last 3 years. It started out mostly as a joke with my college friends but then it became pretty entertaining honestly. Seeing who is out there and figuring out your type is really fun. I never really expected to find anyone on the app that I was going to have a serious relationship with. I was just having fun. But suddenly, there he was. The love of my life. We have so much in common and we hit it off immediately. After a week of calling and texting, he came to see me at college and the rest is history. I’m moving in with him in about 2 months and I fully intend on marrying him within the next 2 years. I scrolled through hundreds and hundreds of guys but I actually found my life partner. My needle in a haystack. The app works if you do. 🤷🏼‍♀️ I also never encountered any issues or scammers on the app. If someone isn’t verified and it looks too good to be true, it probably is. Just be smart, people..Version: 15.4.0

WelpThey now limited poly couples from having a joint profile, which is pointless because now we’re just going to have more people we end up accidentally matching with that turn out to be someone in a poly relationship. It makes more sense to give people in poly/open/enm relationships *their own category* so that people who are looking for that type of relationship or interaction can find each other, but not ending up in the same pool with people who are interested in monogamy. Tinder is the biggest dating app thus it has the most amount of users, so that’s both good and bad. More people you don’t find remotely attractive to swipe through, and constantly being reminded you have 99+ likes or whatever, but ultimately you’re more likely to find at least a few people to choose from to talk to. A lot of creeps and people that are just looking for hookups, or people that don’t bother to even read your bio and just swipe based on photos, which is annoying but expected on any dating app. But there’s also more of a chance of finding someone compatible. Just make sure you don’t accidentally meet your soulmate and blow it on the first date..Version: 14.9.0

UghAll week I have been having so many issues with using this app. I’ll open it and then the screen is loading and loading forever but it doesn’t ever load!!!.Version: 11.23.0
