So soApp is ok. We use it every week for our weekend games at the club (past three years or so for a group of 50+ golfers). It’s very messy when it comes to registration and cancellation. When I go to open tee times and confirm a spot, there is no way to take myself out of the tee sheet if something changes in my schedule or if it was a mistake. How difficult could it be to allow someone to cancel their own registration. We have several issues every week because of this. Superior SupportI have been a user of the Genius app from nearly the beginning. This company and this product is superior in every way to other scoring and tournament software apps. I researched multiple options and every year when my renewal comes up I look again. The features alone are worth the product, but as an admin and profesional, what keeps me coming back is the outstanding and quick customer support. I get better support from Genius than not just a “golf” company, but any company at all. Scoring IssueI think the app does a good job. I like how it tracks player stats for my club. We use the app for scoring each week. One thing most of us struggle with is when we accidentally skip a hole when scoring—we enter hole 12’s scores in on hole 13. Then it throws off the whole scorecard. Messy. It would be great if the app could warn me that I skipped a hole before letting me save scores on the next hole (when trying to save scores on hole 13 it should let me know that no scores were entered on 12)..Soccer steve2Version: 5.4.2

User ThoughtYours is a great App. I use it 3 times weekly. My club uses it for Registration. There is a trigger (Pulled by unknown) that changes Registration to ‘Closed’. Okay so far. The problem is that a registrant cannot Cancel after Registration is Closed. Calling Pro Shop doesn’t always work. (Those guys are overworked.) Golf Genius vs GHINI wonder why a handicap with Golf Genius is different from a handicap with GHIN. I have played over 60 rounds this year and have an 8.8 handicap with GHIN. Recently, I played in an “event” that utilized the Golf Genius app to compute the results. I normally play from between 5,800-6,200 yards. During this event, I played tees that were 6,500-6,700 yards. Yet, my handicap was reduced because I didn’t play from the tees that were actually behind the tees I played from..Jayhawks21Version: 7.2

This is what you get when it’s all you’ve got.My men’s club uses golf genius to manage all of our tournament needs. It’s ok. It’s clunky. Either GG has poor training or lacks customer support, likely both. The app won’t let me access my club but the site will. My mens club board doesn’t know what’s going on and GG is nowhere to be found. I’ve deleted the app, reinstalled, shut my phone down, soft reset. Downloaded the app directly from the site where I’m logged in and accessing my club. Still nothing. Gonna be hard to track my tournament scores live as required by my club… The error that continues to pop for me is “You are not part of any leagues / events / trips”. Inaccurate since I’m accessing my league with all the same login information. Side note, it’s not the most user friendly when tracking your scores and summarizing your round at the end to balance to your official card. It’s fine in that aspect but is not exceptional..Allnamestaken1932Version: 8.4

Lots of potential but deep flawsThe club integrations via Member Portal are extremely clumsy. I can’t tell if this is the fault of the club setting up the customization but ideally the app and backend service itself would have good templates for most event formats and make it impossible for these club customizations to be so poor. The app is frequently in some kind of disconnected state which a quick logout/login always fixes (suggesting that it’s the fault of the app, not the wireless 3G/4G connection). It’s also not uncommon that after you post scores on a few holes, some of those scores have not actually been persisted off-phone. For example after correctly submitting scores for 12 holes, someone else will tell me that we are missing scores for holes 4-9, for example. Their view, and the server-side view, do not reflect what we submitted. So, lots of potential. Would like to see an integration with Venmo so we can enforce a buy-in at the time someone signs up for an event. It’s a pain to chase them after the fact..Qwerty-97Version: 10.3

Okay…when it worksThis app is just okay when it works. It usually lags at least two holes behind and on some days it doesn’t work at all. Not a great thing for parents who didn’t get to make it to the tournament due to illness or injury but wanted to keep up with scoring. The final round is always very important but many times the app just doesn’t show up to play! Even with trying all the old tricks of turning the phone off, refreshing, etc., nothing helps. On scorecard screen scores impossible to readThis app primarily used by country clubs. Average age is probably high esp. in Fl. And Az. You can’t enlarge the screen to make it more readable and in the Fl. Sun it’s impossible to see. Make the scores larger or allow screen to be enlarged when viewing.
