Great app!!This app was my first step into the coding world when I was young! I love hopscotch and it truly has encouraged me to learn other coding languages and get involved with programming. I can confidently say that hopscotch not only teaches you about coding, but it teaches kids problem solving, applying math and logic skills, perseverance, patience and so much more. I always loved spending summer days coding games and then being able to publish these games for other kids to play! This is definitely a great app for kids of all ages and all coding skill levels. Wether or not your child wants to be a professional game developer, this app will benefit them in so many ways and teach them so many important skills. As for the people who dislike the subscription, you can still use hopscotch for free! The subscription is optional and gives you access to more features, but there is still a fully functional free version. Personally, I think the subscription was worth it and purchasing one helps support the team behind this amazing app!.IfujfunfVersion: 3.41.7

Awesome app! A few suggestions.I tend to have at least 3 hours a day on this app. I love the fact there aren’t too many tutorials and that it encourages people to figure it out themselves. There are so many great tools such as variables, “check once if,” and music. Although this app has so many options to create pretty much any game you would want, there is one problem… the reason I downloaded this app in the first place. The shark tank interview. As said in the demonstration, kids were encouraged to make money, through seeds, but instead, kids are only losing money. (If they want the subscription.) I know that the old system will not be added, but I would ask that you would take into consideration adding a comment section to each game. This would help kids to learn by having others give suggestions on how to improve. This would also allow a sense of community to develop around a developer or their game. Two more things, the ability to see the version history of a published game and a sequel system to create direct sequels to a past game you’ve created. So that’s pretty much it. Somewhat disappointed...I’m a bit conflicted about Hopscotch. I do have fond memories spending hours coding and making games, but I don’t really like how it is now. The “Newest” tab isn’t the way it used to be. It only shows select things and that makes me wonder how smaller game makers are supposed to get noticed? I have been featured a few times now, but when I was first starting out it made me really happy to just have one person like it. I really liked Hopscotch, but I just wish that the tabs could go back to the way they used to be. The chance that my project might never be seen doesn’t make me feel motivated enough to start coding. I am also disappointed that you have to sign up for a free trial, or as a student or teacher. This new way of signing up for the app is really confusing, and my friend just decided not to get it. I think that the app should just start off being free, and if the user really wants the premium features they could choose to subscribe. I miss the old version 😢When I first downloaded the app was like a year ago and it still has the subscription but a few things were free like I got to create and publish games and customize my avatar but now everything needs a SUBSCRIPTION! like seriously now I can’t change my avatar now I can’t create or publish games. A very good app, but I miss the old daysI know this is a great app and I have many old memories, ranging from when I created a melody that sounded like Bank Account before the song came out to making and looking at some of the cool projects from the community. I can remember this app vividly, and confirm it was a great app. However, I wish this app was still free, because it is great and everybody should get a chance to experience it. But I understand that the greatest things come at a price, so I still give it a perfect 5 star rating. I am lucky I had an old account and could get it back for free. My current thoughts on the app are that it is doing well, and has no actual competition, because Scratch has never actually received a mobile app, and all the other coding apps give no actual codes to kids, and just let you make characters “Walk” or “Jump”. Great appI’m 17 and I still enjoy making games on this app. I have some experience with actual languages like python and swift, but it is so much easier to pick up my phone and make a game using block coding. I wish there were more features and functionality in the language, but it is still the most advanced block coding language I have ever used. It is pretty obvious that the level of complexity possible on hopscotch is limited based on the bugs and quirkiness that exist even in the best hopscotch games. This, however, seems to be a flaw of block coding languages in general as a trade off for ease of use. Also, I wish that there was a recent tab where you could see levels that were just uploaded without a filter. This would give small creators more exposure and feedback on their games. Great AppThis is an amazing app and I am learning a lot from it. If you in anyway hesitant about downloading it.... DON’T BE! If you wanna make games and have fun while coding. This game dying. 😕I love this game and all but unless you pay, you won’t really learn anything which isn’t bad but if your new player it gets kinda annoying. (I’m not new though) To get likes you either have to be 13+ or super good at art. It may of been fun in the past, but MANY old players have said that this game is dying. Please Fix!Hopscotch is a good app. It’s fun, relatively easy to use, and fun. But what I ran into when coding a quiz game with the screen-in-screen tutorial wasn’t so fun. I started making it, and I did what she did until I saw her renaming the bold text under her other text, but I wasn’t able to. I brushed it off and kept going. Then I realized she had a variable option that I didn’t have, so I ended up doing something else that I knew wouldn’t work. She kept doing variable things that I couldn’t and when I went to test my game, sure enough, it didn’t work. I don’t know whether this is because I’m using an iPad, I don’t have a subscription, or she was using a different version of Hopscotch, but I’m very disappointed because I was excited to make a game like that and I wasn’t able to for a reason I don’t even know. Really great!When my mom first introduced me to coding, I loved it. The first coding app I ever got was “daisy the dinosaur”, an app made by the awesome people that also made Hopscotch! She told me that if I liked it, I could get Hopscotch. My mom set up an account for me on Hopscotch, and I loved it so much I couldn’t stop going on it! The community can be a bit dramatic sometimes, but overall people are mostly really nice 👍 there’s coding, trends, art, likes. Amazing appI’ve been using hopscotch for years. It’s an amazing app for new beginners, but even the best apps have flaws. I don’t quite understand the “newest” tab. It used to be the actual newest projects being posted, but it doesn’t seem like that anymore. Also, I like to look back at my old coded projects and see how I’ve improved, and exactly how long ago that was, but I can’t tell anymore with the date being gone. I am seeing that a lot of people don’t like the fact that the dates are gone. It’s making things a little confusing for a lot of people. I’m fine with the mushrooms being there, but now the date is nowhere to be seen. If possible, it would be nice to have somewhere on the project that we can see the date the person posted it. Blocks iPad Parental Control AppsI want to love this app, I do. My 7 year old daughter is majorly intrigued by coding and this app feeds into her obsession. However, she’s one of those kids who can’t break away from screens. After a time, I finally downloaded an app (Our Pact) that allows me to control exactly what apps she can utilize and how long she has iPad time/when each day. One Saturday a few weeks back I wasn’t paying attention and was in and out of the house with yard work. Next thing, I realize she’s been on for about 3 hours - some magical thing with this app blocks the timer on the installed profile and in turn allows her to play as long as she wants. The moment she closes out, the Our Pact app kicks back in and blocks her for the day but until then, my addict gets her fix. IT JUST SCAMMED MEBefore I explain my bad experience let me just say this is a GREAT free app and probably even better with the subscription. I wanted to buy some seeds to add what I thought said UNLIMITED pictures and drawings. I added one to test it. When I tried to add another one it told me I needed to be subscribed to add more but wait it gets worse. I thought that meant I could only have on picture in a project but it actually meant I could only have on picture in all of hopscotch. I tried to delete that picture to add another one but then it brought me to the same but seeds thing I saw before I bought it. I am only writing this review so you don’t make this mistake too. Great Coding Game!This game is pretty awesome I have watched all the tutorial videos and all the free game making videos. A thing I like about this game that is different from other mobile games is that you don’t need to pay to have fun after 30 minutes. I only have one suggestion. You devs should make a layer system so you can allow the objects that you want to overlap certain objects. Does that make sense? In other words add layers. Amazing!!!I started using this app about a year ago and I got confused in the beginning. But I came back and I understand how it works now. AmazingHopscotch is by far my favorite app on my Ipad! The great templates for learning how to create games is easy for younger minds, like I was when I began. The problem is that your first option when you first enter the app is to either buy a subscription or that you already have an account, and when you get in without a subscription and you made an account after jumping through some loopholes, you only have fifteen projects! The Best Coding Game I Have EVER Seen!!!This is a really good app especially if you are getting in to coding and making games. I’ve made some games on it but I have only published one game, The Cookie Clicker Story. This is really good for age level 7+ but I think anyone would be able to make great games on this app. The only problem is that I have two tablets and the one that I use Hopscotch on is my Apple iPad. It’s a good app, it’s just sometimes..It can be really frustrating with the Apple ID signups, usually my parents would get it quick and done however it works everywhere but here. Amazing!!!!!I can’t say enough good things about Hopscotch!!!! I downloaded this app so I can teach my children coding. We homeschool, and so I requested information the make available for schools. I received customer support within an hour of sending the email. They set up a teacher account and student accounts for us as well as explained how to get the lesson plans and links for other resources. Best Coding Game EVERThis is, hands down, the best game I’ve ever played. You can make your own games and make them public so other people can play them. I love that it’s ad free and I love that you can take inspiration from others and make your own versions. I made so many games and I’m obsessed. The only thing I don’t like is that you have to pay for certain assets such as joysticks or other character packs and a the ability to draw or insert photos. Super confusing and disappointingSo I saw this app on shark tank and I thought: wow! That sounds like a great app! ITS NOT! It’s so hard to make a game and the seeds don’t do anything!!! NostalgiaI always loved this game as a kid 6 years ago. It was so much fun spending hour after hour of creating games. Though I have one question, why did you remove blank projects? That was one of the main reasons why I loved playing this game! So the instant I saw that you couldn’t do a blank project, I deleted it.
