Very good, needs one improvementThis is one of the most useful apps to come along in a long time, and I am enjoying it immensely. There is one improvement, however, that in my view would make it a five-star app. Under Christian religious holidays, the app provides the dates of most holidays observed by Protestants and Catholics. It would be great if it could include Orthodox Christian holidays. At the very least, providing the date for Pascha, or “Orthodox Easter,” would be very helpful. Awesomely awesomeBeyond the boundaries of time is this awesome app from a very dedicated individual who takes pride in his app and all that it involves. No need to worry about a app that never gets updates or just exist to take up space. I can’t recall how long I’ve had this app but it is always here and always updates. The design and information is a valuable asset to have if only for general knowledge. I have learned a lot about things I never knew or just took for granted. Interesting appI like the information but having a challenge adding some items to my favorites. Moon phases shows on the list but doesn't display on the favorites screen and the hurricane scale displays heat index instead. A true gem of an app!When I was a kid I loved paging through the Old Farmers Almanac astronomy and weather sections as well as discovering the plethora of other information it offered. Wish you could set multiple locationsI use this primarily for weather as someone who works in agriculture, but I wish you could set different locations to be able to check the weather forecast both for home and work or other places. I also wish there were more options for specific cities--the closest option to me is actually 25 miles away. It's still quite accurate, but as a weather app I wish it was a little more functional. It's okay...My intent of this application is basically for redundancy and averaging. As an example I normally use several weather apps (minimum three) from different sources, then take an average of what the weather could potentially be. My intent was to do the same specifically for the weather almanac feature to best understand what the weather could be historically. Keep in mind, there is no exact science when it comes to predictability, so I am not judging this app on this. * The application looks nice, but it's truoly a nice ported web interface design. The advantage is it's clean and easy to read, but the disadvantage is it's not good for power users who want a lot of information and quick navigation to get the data they need. * The content is by far the "most off" of my two other weather almanacs I use, but that's the reason I have it. I need to get averages, so this is good. * I do not like how you are either locked-in to their geo-location option or manual option. It should have an easy access "geolocate" me button like any other application out there. Also, the database of locations is restriced/limited to major cities only, which is a big shortcomming for me. I need to know by the city-level their recordered weather, not by the next major city, as any geological formations like foothills or bluffs can make difference. Overall, this is an okay application, but the interface could be cleaned up or have better configurations to best customize for an individual. The data is questionable, but still usable (note: I have only been able to test the weather and not any other features). The location search with automatic and manual options is archaic and should be updated. It's not worth price/value for what you get. I would think this would be more of a 99¢ app. That being said, I do not use this as a primary resource and used for averaging from differenct sources. I would not recommend this as a primary application and you would be better served with more sophiscated, customizable applciations and/or websites that do exactly the same thing. Fantastic App for Astronomy InfoHave been looking for an app like this for some time. This developer is fantastic and super responsive. Don't know where he gets his energy and enthusiasm. Best weather app out thereI have used 3 other weather apps out there and for me this has been the most accurate of them all. plus it has a lot of good and interesting weather facts and cool historical information too. His new feature in the astronomy section...the naked eye is pretty cool too...you can walk out your front door and know exactly where to look for constellations. Incredible app, but...Although this almanac app pays little mind to astrological mysticism, which I appreciate, it still lists the signs and dates of the traditional twelve constellations of the zodiac. I don't mind that the zodiac is mentioned, as it is interesting to know which constellation the sun appears to lie on a given date. However, the dates provided are inconsistent with current astronomical data. I would be impressed if the creator would provide the actual information concerning the zodiacal constellations. New userI LOVE this! It's exactly what I was looking for and more. I wanted several things, 1stly a lunar / solar calendar. I almost got a hunting calendar because it had that with great reviews. I live in an extremely rural area and was raised with the old ways. I grew up using almanacs for their ephemerides. While I was simply looking for the solar / lunar, this has that along with ephemerides, updated weather, articles like the old farmer's almanac would have and a TON more. I'm plannimg on using it for star-gazimg, too, as that is in there. I was a little iffy on whether to get it but I'm glad I did now. I have placed the app right next to FB on my home screen 1st page, if that tells you anything! Reliable so farMy grandfather was a farmer and always had an almanac close by. This is the updated version, but the layout (once you get used to the symbols) is straight forward-ish. They could improve the opening screens, rather than just a huge empty space and make the links more engaging, but I'm usually able to find what I'm looking for after I reacquaint myself with the layout. Location needed, why?There is no explanation for this and if there is one in-app, I’m not able to get to it without enabling location services. I don’t like to turn it on unless there is a good reason. If the app needs to look up info based on location, can’t we enter that info in manually? I like to look up info about other places too anyway. I know it’s kind of over the top to give this a one star because of that one reason, but this tiny thing is literally keeping me from checking out the rest of the app. As in, the pop-up won’t go away unless I have location services enabled..HippohumongousVersion: 4.5

Hard to use, limited locationsThis app is terrible! It’s hard to use, the interface is terrible, and it doesn’t have a lot of location options. So unless you only want to see big cities, it’s worthless. I downloaded this for the weather forecasting feature and this feature is terrible. It gives you a range of temperatures which I feel is worthless. I wanted an app that gave a more decent forecast not something that just gave a wide ranging guess at the weather. Not worth itIt's a completely basic app. There's nothing on it you can't google.
