I want to love itMany of the pre built effects are charming, others are awfully garish but we all have our own tastes. I can’t tell if this is because I don’t have some of the information I need, or if they have intentionally disabled it, but I cannot figure out how to reliably open up presets to edit them. Especially those that were pre-built. For instance, I want to build a preset based off of one that they already built, and I cannot seem to find a way to open it to start making changes to a duplicate. Essentially, they have a lovely sea preset that I would like to shift colors in to see if I could create some thing like a forest, but so far I have not been successful..TurtlecatpurrzVersion: 3.3.3

Exactly What I WantedThis app is everything I wanted it to be. I originally had an issue with a bug not allowing custom songs to be made and the developer responded with a fix in a few days. It takes some time to learn, but once you’ve practiced the custom preset maker is perfect for creating light shows that you can manually sync with music. I’ve used it to create a custom hockey San Jose Sharks goal song and I’ve recreated some scenes from Disneyland attractions with sound effects/lighting. I plan on doing so much more in the future. Suggestion: preset playlists. These could be implemented into the “collections” feature and allow users to stay on a certain preset for a specific amount of time and then move to the next one. I realize this is already somewhat possible.. but you cannot set specific times for certain songs (only a blanket time for all songs) and you cannot limit it to just one collection on repeat. Great presets, but no way to limit presets to a subset of lightsFirst, the good. Lightbow has a lot of preset configuration and does a very good job animating the lights with music. The subscription is a little pricey, but it does come with a lot. The problem with Lightbow is it isn’t easy to run an animation on a single light, or even a single light group. When you start running any of the subscription presets, it runs them on all lights, or seems to pick lights at Random - not good if you have a lot of Hue lights. The only way that I’ve been able to do this, and even this isn’t 100% reliable, is to shut off all of the lights, except those that I want to control. I then start the preset and then I can turn on any other lights that I want to. The functionality that should be there is to be able to pick a light group, which should take you to a place where you can pick the preset, thereby limiting the effects to only that group..NtoppnVersion: 3.3.3

Great App & Great DevBought the app because I had bought a couple LIFX bulbs and wanted more options than what the LIFX app had to offer, and wouldn’t you know it the app couldn’t find my lights! Messaged the support email about it and in about a week there’s an update that completely fixed the issue! Apparently LIFX bulbs aren’t as easy to work with so I really appreciated how quickly the Dev fixed the issue. Once I was able to use the app I was definitely glad I picked it up because all the light scenes that you can get are really cool and unique and new ones are regularly coming out, and you can tell if you have the patience you can make some really cool scenes yourself. A mommy must haveI am a mom of 3 and my kids are very much affected by light. I’m sure they have S.A.D...spring and summer they pop right out of bed. Come winter - they are missing the bus everyday. So what better way to wake them up than with a smart bulb and the red light features? This is not a prank. I truly use it. They get a kick out of it and I get to work on time each day. As far as the effectiveness of the products: the app works better with my LIFX bulbs than the LIFX app. The music/sounds are great too! I do have a membership and I think 25$ is pretty inexpensive for all you get and the ease of use. My only improvement would be related to organizing the presents. Great bug fix update2018: Useful update fixed crashing on launch bug. I can how recommend this app! Very Cool!I just bought a bunch of Hue bulbs for throughout my home and wanted something to control them that was straight forward and easy to use. I downloaded the app and set it up with no problems at all (not sure what the guy complaining about not being able to find the bridge was all about). I used it for 5 minutes tops and then purchased the subscription. $25 seems a bit pricey but its kind of like an Apple product, yup they are expensive but they work intuitively and that is worth my money every time. Best of the Bunch!!There are a ton of Phillips Hue Light apps available - I’ve tried them all. Lightbow is easily the best, my go-to app - and the only one that appears on my home screen. Super easy to use, handles groups well, fun presets - I love the Police!!! In the event something goes wrong - only happened once - it’s a simple process to report an issue, attach diagnostics, and Peter, who leads the engineering charge, will dive right in to find a fix - he really loves a challenge!! Great appI am so glad I got this one. The presets rock and there are new ones added all the time. I ended up subscribing. But you can also only purchase the ones you like. The rates are very reasonable and the value is great. I fully recommend this to make the most of your hue lights. Awesome appI own a lifx mini, a lifx (a19) bulb, and a lifx strip behind my mounted TV and this app works wonders with them. Helping me through winterI adore my Lightbow settings for my Phillips Hue Lights. Instead of waking up to darkness on winter mornings, I enjoy the beautiful colours of my lights. Incredible!This is arguably the best philips hue control app on the iOS AppStore! The possibilities are endless; you can use built-in sounds or music to go along with custom or preset animated scenes. Creating a scene is very fun and simple, you can choose how long each colour lasts on each bulb, which bulbs are on, there are different transitions, you can set timers etc... definitely worth the price! Stick with it through the learning curve.Maybe there was a tutorial I arrogantly skipped past, but I found it took a little while to get the overall UI metaphor as it's a little clunky. But once you understand how this app works, it's a powerhouse. You can create very slick animations with Hue, for example. Issues with Lights, UI, Support and PriceFirst issue is lights. I turn off certain lights because I don't want the presets using them. The app turns them back on! It's like it looks at the bridge and says "That is the state of the light I'll use, instead of issuing them commands" If in the app I turn OFF a given light, even if someone turns ON that light via Alexa or Hue, the APP should IGNORE it, not go and use it. Ugh! Second, buying presets is terrible, because after you do there is NO interface for "Here is what you have purchased!" You literally have to go through each and EVERY preset button just to see what you have bought. If you buy say 2 or 3 but can't remember which ones you have to click them all tomfind what you bought! Third, some presets don't even work all the time. Fireworks works sometimes, othertimes it doesn't! I contacted support 4 weeks ago twice, no reply back. Finally, each pack is 5 bucks. If you want all the presets, it's flipp'in expensive! I DO like the sounds + lights but this whole app setup is just plain terrible..MrcsVersion: 2.9.4

No response from DesignerOne of the main reasons I got this app was because it was one of the few hue apps that work with Shortcuts. However, the Shortcut commands do not work for me. When i select them, they simply open the Lightbow app and then they end their routine at that point without activating scene. This is really frustrating for me since I would never have purchased the app in the first place had I realized this was going to be an issue. I wasn’t too put out since the developer offers a contact page within the app. I reached out to the developer about 3 weeks ago and have not received a response. I received an auto-response at the time of the message saying “I’ll respond when i have time” (paraphrased) I get that app designers are only a single person a lot of the time and often they have day jobs that prevent them from responding in a timely manner. But if you’re a developer who can’t actually address problems with your app due to time constraints, then in my honest opinion, your app is not finished. I spent good money on this app with no hope of ever receiving a refund and most likely communication. No longer worth itI loved this app and have been a subscriber for a few years. My main complaint is the animations default to one specific group of lights in my living room.
