Sell on Etsy Positive Reviews

EBay now Etsy sellerAs an eBay seller with close to 600 positive sells and none negative I was looking for a way to expand my sells and Etsy has provided me with a comparable platform in which I can use to grow my business. I truly appreciate the ease and user friendly design of the Etsy app and find it equal to if not better than eBays. I truly have no complaints but one. The one issue I would like to see changed is this. Etsy wants you to pay in order for google to find your items in its generic search results. Meaning if someone searches for an item on google, that item won’t show up in the search results for Etsy unless you pay. Pay a small fee and your items can be seen by googles search engine. I find that caveat contrary to good business practice and refuse to pay that fee for advertising. It goes against what I feel is right and other than that I have no issues with Etsy..Version: 3.29

Go back to the old payment system!I Used to love selling on Etsy, I opened my shop a little over a year ago and while i don’t get a lot of orders I feel like my shop is successful, I get great reviews and haven’t gotten anything other then five stars. But then they changed how payments work just before Christmas. pay off the fees once a month and buy postage out of pocket which wasn’t a big deal, I would pay under $4 in fees a month and $2.75 for postage. I preferred it that was so I could get my entire payment from my very inexpensive product. The new system withholds the money from my orders and then subtracts the fees and postage from that money until I can get it into my bank account (it will only deposit money on business days). I tried to see if i could pay for postage at the time of purchase like i used to, but they have no option for that anymore, instead the fees sit in your payment waiting to either be paid off at the end of the month or for you to get another order so it can take a large amount of that money. I’m not making any money off of my product because they keep subtracting the fees from the purchase. I have a four dollar fee sitting in the payment that I can’t pay until the end of the month. I love being an Etsy seller but unless they go back to the old method or give us the option to pay for postage and fees before the billing cycle ends then I’ll have to close down my shop..Version: 3.10

Happy sellerEtsy wants you to succeed. There’s so many resources available and they will nudge you in the right direction to get more sales and to bring customers your way. I’ve been running my small business off of Etsy since 2018 and every year my business grows more and more, something I can easily see with the stats available right at the front of this app. I can organize my orders, message customers, and read reviews perfectly with this. For the first few months I used to just go off of emails. The emails I receive are still important (especially the ones alerting me that I’ve made a sell), but downloading this app has made everything much easier for me. If it weren’t for Etsy I don’t think I would have ever started my business, let alone be as successful as I feel I have been. This app is extremely user friendly, if you’re just starting you can take it at your own pace. There’s so many handy dandy features. For example, you can set your shop in a temporary vacation mode for when you’re out of town or unable to do orders. I personally can’t think of a way to improve my experience, thanks to the developers and whoever else is on the Etsy team..Version: 3.53

Aggravating glitch since last update! This app has definitely improved since first being released. I use it mostly for replying to convos because I find it difficult to setup listings from my phone. Since the last update, there is a glitch that is taking the remaining letters of the last word typed, and putting just those letters onto the next line down, rather than moving the entire word down onto the next line when it’s too long to fit on the line above. (This is an example of what I am talking ab out happening. Do you see how difficult an d incredibly annoying it is when you’re tryi ng to read the text? Also, if my customer is reading my messages from the app, it mak es me look like a grammar-less idiot. I don ’t like this because I am a grammar Nazi!) You don’t see the nonsensical wording until the message is actually sent. I HATE THIS! It looks sloppy and makes it difficult to read. It happens on messages that I have sent and also received, and it only happens with the Sell on Etsy app. So, when I’m reading the same exact messages from my browser or on my Etsy-Shop Creative app, the messages look normal. Please fix the glitch!!!! Thank you!.Version: 2.80

App is limitedThe Etsy Seller app is great for if you plan on viewing your orders and stats. Or if you need to do small edits to your titles, tags, and description. If you want to actually use the features found on the website, your best bet is it access your shop through Safari or a computer. This app has potential, but it lacks many features needed to use it effectively. A couple of things that drive me crazy- You cannot Print your orders in the normal format. Instead, it is enlarged and prints like a webpage would. Second, you cannot view order details on the order page. You have to click each one individually until you find the one you need. Those are only the tiny details that are flawed. The biggest issues- you cannot print shipping labels from the app. The marketing options are limited, as well as the settings. For most settings, it will tell you to get on a computer. You also cannot unselect an attribute or recipient once it is selected. You can only change it to a new option. I keep the app simply for viewing basic information on new orders and to update tags..Version: 3.21

Powerful app if you use it correctlyI use this app all day ever day and have found it to be a “must have” on all devices. I primarily use it to get quick access to shop data - essentially all the data you can see on a browser around site traffic, orders, marketing campaigns, etc...very helpful if you want a quick snapshot of open orders, number of conversations, traffic for the day, etc. I’ve also used it to modify listing titles, tags, descriptions, prices, promoted bids, etc. That said, if you’re going to be building out new listings or modifying shipping profiles I would recommend sticking with your PC - I don’t think this app is built to help you truly design/build your your shop and listings, but it’s a great supplement to your browser tools. The app also has nice notifications for new orders, shop favorites, conversations, etc. Great widget for immediate access to data, which i’m addicted to. Two items on my wishlist for the app... 1) I would like to have different notification sounds for conversations vs. shop favorites and listing favorites - right now I they all default to one notification sound. 2) once or twice a week my widget will stop working and tell me to “sign in” despite me being signed into the app, or signing out/back in. Only solution I have found is to delete the app and re-download from app store - a bit of a pain. Not sure why this is happening? Thanks Etsy!.Version: 3.10

App is ok but...I don’t have many issues with this app but I noticed the shipping labels are very vague to update. It didn’t allow me to change flat shipping price to calculated and the shipping label I saved from the computer Etsy website is not showing up on this app. Idk if it is a glitch. It worked fine before but the shipping labels stopped showing up recently. I tried re-downloading. It didn’t work. Also I don’t really like the stats section anymore. I wish it would give me where the total views were coming from instead of the visits. I don’t really care where the double visits from the same people are coming from. I feel like the total views and their location are more important than visits. It only shows the location of the visits which is only the people who came multiple times. This also makes it confusing because what if it’s only one person visiting the whole time? I’m exaggerating a bit but it’s a little confusing in that sense. It’s as if it’s showing the popularity yet it’s the same person over and over..Version: 2.74

Gets harder and harderI have been selling on Etsy since 2016. Though I have enjoyed the financial independence that the app has brought me, the corporate office at Etsy keeps making it harder and harder to make money every year. They just raised the transaction fees from 5% to 6.5%. They charge a substantial amount more than that when someone purchases something after clicking on one of their outside ads. They have just made it mandatory to provide tracking info to customers, so now you have to charge a minimum of $7-9 shipping for every sale to get the tracking number, even if you’re mailing an envelope that could be sent with the cheaper shipping. Etsy sellers do all of the creative work while the company itself keeps expanding and expanding financially, such that for the first time since 2016 I’m actually losing money selling on their platform. I’m grateful for the opportunity their site has provided me but disappointed that they continue to make it harder to turn a profit..Version: 3.53

Infuriating listing creation mechanics on iOSOk, I know Etsy is overall a pretty good place to sell, but this one issue is absolutely infuriating. If you’re creating a listing and you swipe in the wrong direction, you completely close out of it and lose ALL OF YOUR PROGRESS. no draft, no confirmation, even if you just scroll a little bit too far trying to get to a different portion of the page. And you can’t save drafts until you have all the appropriate things filled out, so there’s no way to even save as you go to ensure that you don’t accidentally do this. Furthermore, when trying to edit variations that already exist, the app freezes. Every time, without fail. And if you’re trying to redo the photos for a listing and relink them to variations, you have to save the listing before they will show up to be able to be linked - but you can’t save the listing if the old photo that was linked to the variation has been deleted..Version: 3.53

Genuinely surprised about the low reviewsI never shopped on Etsy or ever opened one. But I really want to do selling and make a side income. I down loaded both apps the Etsy & Etsy seller. Upon listing as a seller the very next day I had someone purchase & it’s been going pretty well so far. I haven’t had a problem selling & printing labels & talking to buyers. Everything has been going very smoothly. Payments are weekly. Sales & ads work well. Overall very happy. Side note: IF You’re someone that’s REALLY wants to try to do selling/ make passive income, and have no experience / nervous to do it at first (like me) I recommend you just go for it and learn a long the way it might be one of your best decisions. I wasn’t profitable on my FIRST TWO sales but now I am! Doesn’t hurt to try (: Wish you all well and the best of luck!😊.Version: 3.53

Awesome for Sellers! It’s missing some things you need to do on the desktop or safari version, but it’s awesome!!! I love the stats, views, faves, it shows. I also like that it gives you tips and tricks to build your Etsy business. It’s really cool that they are making sure that your business thrives in as many ways as possible. It has some glitches on the phone- like the “variations.” If you “copy” an item for making a similar listing pastor, it is hard to change the variations without the app freezing. So the only way I have found around that without losing all my work on the listing is making sure I complete all of the other information on the new listing (that I copied) and “saving it as a draft.” Then I go back into that listing and delete that old variation and create a new variation, just a heads up..Version: 3.53

Great, but please change the draft pageMy only issue with the app at the moment is that the draft page for an item can be “closed” by swiping downwards - and it doesn’t save any changes. No matter how hard I try, I keep accidentally swiping down and having to completely restart listings. No other platforms’ apps that I use — eBay, Depop, Facebook — design the drafts page with this sort of flimsiness. I like being able to create listings from my phone and would prefer not to use my laptop. Seems like this should be an easy fix for a dumb issue. 👍 Also, please optimize UX on the draft’s “add tags” page by keeping the keyboard up, rather than closing it, after each tag is added. Otherwise I have to tap back again on the keyboard 13 times for each listing, which is functionally counterintuitive to the page’s entire point of adding multiple tags 😐.Version: 3.53

Building up still and getting better!!I Can’t lie, I didn’t know what to expect from Etsy in the beginning. It took a little bit of adjustment on my post, quality and way I do my things to make it start working here on the app such as completing as much info as possible to get your posts more noticed by the general public. At first I posted a few and than I started gaining momentum and now I get a order very often and it’s money I didn’t have before that I made show up, so I’m satisfied to keep my brain going by staying motivated with ideas and now that I’ve been on the app for about a year now, I can say I’ve definitely got to thank Etsy for getting me some sales for my sticker/ decal business. Give it a try if you haven’t, just be you!.Version: 4.2.2

Selling on Etsy is the BESTI started my Etsy bookshop Sempere Books 8 months ago, May 2021, and within the first month I was making nearly a sale a day! It’s easy to use, and Etsy will help you with anything you need along the way. I expected my shop to take a while to be sustainable on its own, but within 3 months of being open I was able to quit my day job and run my business full time. I’ve been a social media manager for multiple brands and companies before and I have to say Etsy Ads is possibly the most rewarding way to advertise online. They target your precise market so you’re not overspending your budget. Proud to be a Star Seller to start off 2022, and can’t wait to see what Etsy has in store for this new year!.Version: 3.53

Needs improvements!I use this app on a daily basis to run my business. There are many issues though. First, it’s very slow. It can take up to a minute to load a listing. Second, some of the features just don’t work! For example, if I want to link photos to my listing through the app it does nothing..... I have to go to the website to do this. Also I have a suggested “attribute “ on my dashboard for a listing that no longer exists! And I can’t for the life of me get it to go away! Third, some days I can even upload photos. I like to use the app to load photos because it’s more convenient.... but it would be nice to have the app do the same tasks as the site. The app developers definitely need to update the app and work out these issues. Since Etsy has decided to add additional fees on to shipping, listings, and selling, they should be able to fix the issues in the app to support us as sellers!.Version: 3.31

Digital Artist CreativesI’ve been a Etsy Seller for a few months now. It’s a great place to start if you’re creative or crafty. I believe it makes it simple for my customers to order. Whether you’re selling digitals, prints, and other handmade things. I 5 out of 5 recommend Etsy. The only thing I can think of they could improve on is the shipping section for people who create things digitally, like myself. When I finish a digital drawing for someone I have to go through the process as if I’m shipping a actual item. And on the customers end I hate for them to receive notifications about the order being shipped etc. Kinda annoying but I’m still learning just a heads up for digital art creators..Version: 3.53

Great appNot looking forward to having to switch to the new app because I like this one a lot.Version: 4.2.2

Much better than the replacementEtsy is going to stop supporting this app very soon. The question is WHY???? It is so much more stable, efficient and reliable than the “new more modern app” that’s a hot mess full of glitches. Etsy’s throwing out the baby with the bath water and that’s just ridiculous. Typical Etsy..Version: 4.2.2
