Best reading app on the marketFor a reading app associated with a social media network, it’s understandable that it has a lot of social media features and ads. I didn’t find this particularly annoying since you can turn off most of the notifications and the article recommendations. The reading features though, are so incredibly well designed. My biggest praise is for the endnotes feature. Every other reading app I’ve used has all the endnotes at the end of the chapter or the book like a physical book; however, it is not easy to flip through all the pages to the end of the chapters and back in an ebook as compared to a physical one. This app allows users to tap on the in-text references and directly read the endnotes in a pop up window. Absolutely love this feature. No other reading app offers so many freebies!I have already accumulated 200+ free reading days and almost 200 free books, after only two months of using this app and not spending a single cent. I love how it incentivizes reading by giving out free memberships days and free books - I feel like no other reading app is doing that. Technically you never really have to pay a penny unless you really want to read the paid-membership-books - but sometimes they give you those books for free too. I read extremely fast but I’m always getting free books faster than I can read them. Great reading appThis is the best reading app I have ever used. It is attached with WeChat so we could see other friends’ readings and share our point of views. It is kind of cool to have the reading rewards points and buy books with the points! I also enjoyed reading with this app in three ways. First, it provides different background colors for your preferences. Second, it encourages you to build up your reading habits. Third, books are up to date and well organized. Best app for reading Chinese booksFor a long time I couldn’t find a reading app in Chinese that allows me to make notes and export highlights like Kindle, and Wechat Read does that and more. The interface is clean and intuitive, and the social features don’t overwhelm the essentially solitary experience of reading. Account management needs improvementThe app is ok as an ebook reader. Its book store is good, with a huge collection of books. It is nice to offer a bunch of promotions and competitions to get free books or one-day-free pass, which is appealing. However, its bookshelf often categorizes the books in a wrong way. Some purchased books were put into unpurchased category. I don’t know whether it has been put in the wrong database or it is just a display mistake. Suggestions for improvementIf it can play some background music while I am reading that would be perfect. I suggest to have a list of music selected for each book based on its theme. I feel if I can have another dimension of feeling while I am reading can improve my reading experience. VXreads is awesome!I love reading books. Originally, I brought books from stores and do the readings when I have time free, which burdened my backpack everyday. Amazing appFor books: I’ve been using this app ever since I have to self-quarantine at home. It saves me from daily boredom and I start to love reading again! For the design of this app: - variety: you can access to a tremendous amount of books that are written in Chinese, or translated from other languages into Chinese. For those translated books, you can even find at least 2-3 versions from various publishers. - convenience: you can choose to read the books whenever you like, or if you prefer to listen, you can do audio books. - cheap!! Very good book appOne note for developers: when I listen to the books, when I re-open the app to resume listening, sometimes it will regress to an old position in the book but not the previously stopped position!
