Veldig bra , lærer spansk og der må man skrive på engelsk og spansk. Så hadde vært fint/lettere om man kunne få kursene på norsk og ikke bare engelsk.

Mangler større fokus på gramatikkregler

Liker konseptet, men tyskkurset er fullt av feil. Sletter derfor appen. Jeg har fått feil på mange svar som egentlig er korrekte. Blir helt håpløst siden jeg da «mister liv» i spillet og må svare feil for å komme videre ...

It was good, boldly claiming it to be free forever - which it still is - but now it has become run down with advertisement on every pressable button and page. What a major disappointment it has become

I used to love Duolingo as it was a really good way of improving my Spanish, French and Russian. I really hate the new heart system, because I have to start a lesson all over again every time I run out of hearts. I don’t care how many points or hearts I get. I just want to improve my language knowledge. The changes you have made makes me so frustrated that I am now looking for another language app.

The new update removed the incentive to repeat lessons and to keep track of how far you have gone on each skill. Please bring the old version back!

I haven’t used it in a few years and now I wanted to learn a new language in quarantine but all the ads and the harts that you need to continue or buy it and that sucks and kill the app:((

The new interface is hard to navigate and the new quests make me less motivated to learn, the old one was simple and perfect

First they change the whole layout, and I hated it. Making me less demotivated to use the app, to even learn a language. Now they’re upping the amount of quests you need to get a badge each month? Wtf is this crap?? F these badges. I miss how it was before, I was actually motivated and had a good time in this app. Feeling like I was actually learning. This new model is for real the worst thing they could’ve done to the app. Who the hell is developing this crap? Are you trying to lose all the users? Ffs as soon as I have reached my 1000 day streak, I’ll take a acreenshot to commemorate, and this app is going in the trash and I’ll never use it again. They changed for the worse making it less and less motivating. This app SUCKS. Stay clear and download ANY OTHER APP.

Why does this app have hearts. It’s just demotivating

After the last update swapping out hearts for ‘energy’ it is impossible to be free to play. Some days you do not have the required energy for more than a single lesson, and that’s even if you get everything right. Very discouraging.

The new energy system is really disappointing. It cuts off practice, slows down progress, and makes the app feel restrictive instead of helpful. Having to wait or pay just to keep learning takes away a lot of the motivation. The old heart system was much better at least we could keep learning through review or practice.

Why did you switch from the hearts to energy?? YOU ONLY WANT PEOPLES MONEY, CASH GRABBERS‼️‼️‼️‼️

I used to love Duolingo but with the new energy update the whole app is ruined you can’t Get more than 2 lessons a day even if you get every question right, it’s stupid give back the hearts! Just look at the feedback you are getting, before the update you almost only got positive feedback but now you just get bad feedback

Great app, until they changed from hearts to energy. Extremely limited learning per day, max a few minutes. So no chance of getting better.

The new energy update was just to make the app miserable for free-users, and trying to get them to pay for premium. Now you run out of energy even if all answers are correct. Sadly the app is not free anymore. Duolingo has let me down. Please go back to the heart system!

Why have you guys started with energy? It’s so stupid and it’s not fun to learn anymore

The app used to be good, but they are constantly implementing predatory mechanisms and this last introduction of the energy system really pushed it over the edge for me. Not to mention all the other borderline user hostile policies of the company leadership

The app doesn’t even properly teach you how to build a sentence. It feels like i’m never progressing. Instead, they’re just teaching you what the word “bread” means or something. The app continues to ask for money as well. And now they’ve even began replacing their workers with AI. What happened duo? You guys were doing so well. I hope you get better.

Very good app, but when I try to unsubscribe a paid account- “can’t connect”. I have tried 6 times. All other connections works fine.

When I got the app, I never mentioned anything about my real name. Not even my email has it. And my Game Center doesn’t have it either. I never told the app anything about my name, and I even deleted it because it didn’t learn my anything that I needed. But even now after I deleted it, it is still sending me weird reminders if I have time WITH my real name in it. I won’t mention my real name, but if you creators see this, the app doesn’t teach me anything and know information I keep personal! This is just creepy. And by the way, what I mean with personal information, the app knows my damn address! This is horrifying!

Duolingo gets worse and worse. I re-installed the app just to practise a little. Now they have invented «energy» that you have to pay to replenish … And those manipulative prompts with teary faces and annoying commercials to get you to pay … So bad!

Stop replacing people with ai

The new update has completely changed Duolingo and now you get at max 2 lessons a day even when you get everything correct. Which is not enough to learn a language, but enough for them to get money out of your daily Duolingo visit. I would recommend to find another way of learning another language. Duolingo is just not it anymore

Siste oppdatering ødela appen. De tok bort podcastene og lyd oppgavene, nå kan jeg ikke gjøre andre ting mens jeg lærer lenger. Mista motivasjon etter det. Du lærer lite du vil få bruk for i virkeligheten. Om du faktisk skal lære må du betale masse penger, trodde hele greia med duolingo var at alle kunne lære seg et nytt språk? Selv om alt ikke er dårlig- hele xp systemet syntes jeg funker bra- syntes jeg det er for mye som ikke er godt nok gjennomtenkt og gjennomført (hjertene). Håper dere kan få noe ut av omtalen min, og gir oss tilbake de beste funksjonene som vi hadde før.

Not good hate the app, I mean you should not have life you should LEARN not PAY are you really so poor that you need so 4-year-olds to pay a lot of money, I am from Norway it is so sick stupid that it is not possible to choose the language you should have when the subject is to learn the other language, (show you what I mean) for example shown I will learn French: Write hello my name is Paul (example) but I have to understand English and use the app BECAUSE EVERYTHING BIG IN ENGLISH AND I AM NOT AS GOOD IN ENGLISH AS YOU MAYBE BELIEVE !!! so what I'm trying to say is that you should otate the app so I can read the task and then do it but it is French since I will learn it !!!!!!! and for that 3. I HATE the EMOJIES / STICKERS you have made , it's in French I do not like it shown I now send an emoji to my BFFAE (Best friend forever and eternity) so she can not French so what in the hole seat you have in mind!?!?!? she does not know anything you little judge girl / boy and I just do not like, not quite my style. answer me immediately so we can discuss the details later big hug from Girl from Norway😘

One star out of five. I don’t understand why they keep coming up with these new updates all the time. They added this energy system — everything seemed fine before. Now, to pass a legendary level, you can’t make a single mistake, and even then Duo might only give you 2 energy for 5 correct answers in a row. Looks like I’ll have to delete this game with developers like these 😡☹️

Kun reklamer for super Duolingo konstant. Man rekker bare å gjøre 1 øvelse før ‘batteriet’ går tomt. De vil bare at det skal være vanskelig å ha vanlige Duolingo for at man skal kjøpe super Duolingo

The app has become terrible with energy instead of hearts. you force to buy the paid version, because without it there is no point, bring back the hearts please!!

Tried the free period and enjoyed learning French. However without the subscription the app is useless - can’t even complete two lessons a day because the ‘energy bar’ is out. Terrible.

I have several times now declined your offer to upgrade to Max. Now please remove the Video call button - which doesn't work anyway without a Max subscription - and give us back the Practice button that is actually useful, that would you have tucked away to make space for the defunct Video call button. Make Video call part of the Practice menu instead, if you must. Thanks in advance.

The quality is going downhill. Had it for 2 years with super. App stopped giving streak freeze and demand me to pay for things I used to get for free while I’m subscribed. I did plan to keep it, but noe I have to pay to keep my streak because I often play around midnight?? A few months earlier they replaced staff with AI. It used to be a fun meme that duo is evil. It’s not funny anymore. Besides I’m learning a language that isn’t on the app now, so it’s kind of useless. Duo used to be something I enjoyed. Not anymore, predatory moneyhungry. When it adds to my course that I completed, I don’t get to do the lessons I didn’t do, I’m just stuck at the end because completed the course. I get treated like I already did the lessons. I got a free trial for duolingo max and I have a feeling that since max isn’t worth it, duolingo punish the users that already had super. From the duolingo max trial, I didn’t get the best impression. It was bad.

You push and push! We did not want to test MAX, but there was no way around it tody. As a payback for this we now end our family subscription after two years. And there are more reasons…

Hate the new update!

The new system for battery energy instead of hearts really sucks!! Please bring back or at least give people freedom to choose between hearts system or battery system. Battery system is kind of forcing people to use subscription but it ends up just annoying and less use of the app not getting subscription!!

Congratulations, duolingo went from the greatest language learning app to the absolute worst of them all. I have used this app for 4 years but I swear on my life I am never touching this garbage until you restore the app back to what it once was. Bring back hearts system, remove energy system. Otherwise, farewell for good

The app used to be really good. However, it has slowly gotten worse over the time I have used it. The experience as a non-paying user has dramatically declined. Whenever I use the app, I am bombarded with ads telling me to start a premium subscription, often right after the app has already shown me another unrelated ad. The worst feature however was added today. Before, you would have five “hearts”. Every time you made a mistake, you would lose one of these, and if you lost all of them, you wouldn’t be able to do any more lessons for that day. You used to be able to regain hearts by doing practice, but this was changed to regaining hearts by watching ads instead. Today, that was changed to a feature where every time you do anything, you lose “energy”, regardless of if you get something right or wrong, and you will be unable to do anything if you run out of energy. The only way to avoid running out of energy is to either watch a ton of ads or subscribing to a premium plan. This has effectively made the app almost impossible to use without paying. I do not recommend this app. There are better ways to learn a new language, and most of those ways won’t be constantly begging for you to subscribe to an overpriced subscription plan.

Used to be good. Now, they have added «energy», a tool to make the app awful for free users. Previously, a «heart» - system allowed you to play until you made a certain amount of mistakes. Energy, on the other hand, limits you to just a few lessons per day. This, they have the audacity to claim, is supposed to be a benefit for the player. All it really does is force you to either pay for the app, or watch tons of ads. Duolingo’s claim of supporting free education is no longer even close to being true now.

Introduced very user unfriendly «energy» no longer do you have 5 hearts but instead you have energy. You get 25 energy and you lose one every time you do a task. If a lesson is 10 tasks you lose 10 energy. Effectively making it so that you can only do 2 lessons per day, maybe 3 if you do it perfectly and get «refunded» energy. This company is no longer interested in teaching people languages, but instead is just interested in making money in any way possible. If you want to watch and ad you get THREE energy back, meaning to fully recharge your energy bare you have to watch EIGHT ads. Welcome to ad watcher simulator! SHAMEFUL

Duolingo used to be a fantastic app. It was fun, simple, and genuinely helped you learn. Now? It feels like they’re doing everything possible to force you into paying. The so-called “free version” is barely usable—you’re hit with an ad after every single lesson. One mistake? You lose a heart. You get five, and they take hours to refill. So instead of learning, you’re punished for not being perfect. It’s frustrating and honestly insulting to users who just want to learn. If they’re this desperate for money, just make the app paid instead of disguising it behind endless ads and restrictions. I used to support this app and even paid for premium back when it was more balanced. But now? No chance. I’m done. Uninstalled and not coming back until they respect their users again

What once was a decent app, is now a greedy, AI filled garbage trying to upsell you (even after buying expensive plans!) and teaching you plain wrong things.

They have just replaced hearts with energy. Free version is basically useless now.
