Great app I really love Elevate! I do the recommended exercises every morning and I really feel that I am improving. I am not a native English speaker and Elevate really helps me to improve. It also really improves the ability to concentrate and the short time memory. I started out hating the name-recall exercise and used pen and paper to recall. But not anymore! This one works, is useful and not pushing purchases or ads This one actually seems to benefit me. I have expanded my vocabulary, I have learned what I’m good at and what needs improvement, and I have actually seen improvements over time. I’ve been using this app for a year now on and off, and I’m about to purchase a subscription for another year. It provides details on how you’re performing compared to the average and how much better you are or how far you’re lagging behind. It uses a lot of different mini games to test your skills, and no matter how smart you are, you will most likely need to improve on some of these skills, whether it’s math, grammar, vocabulary or just learning when to use big words and when not to. You will get statistics on your performance, and you will be able to review your errors and learn from them. The only thing I’m missing is a resource where you can practice vocabulary, and perhaps an option to say I don’t know instead of guessing. Because sometimes I find myself getting words right just from lucky guesses. I want to learn them, not get great statistics from lucky guesses. I believe there is a free option too.. Monotonous & Arbitrary At first I liked Elevate enough to get a subscription. It seemed like a good daily brain exercise. However, I’m now deleting it after a 127-day streak, because it’s not a good use of time. The games are monotonous and repetitive. In a few cases, in games of association, it seems entirely arbitrary what counts as a right or wrong answer. The difficulty seems to inch higher, day by day, creating an impression of progress, but it’s not clear to me that I wouldn’t have tackled the “harder” games just as easily on day 1. All in all, it feels more like doing tasks assigned in some psychological experiment than education, entertainment, practice or something else useful.. ChrKN Version: 5.92.0
