You can launch Kodex QuickEdit from any file sharing view in any app to edit its contents without launching the main Kodex App (be aware this functionality depends on the host app implementing the sharing activity properly).
Included are 10 editor themes, and several monospaced fonts for code editing (you can install your own preferred fonts using system profiles). Font size and line spacing are adjustable, so you can configure Kodex to best fit your preferred screen size, arrangement, and orientation.
Kodex is not a compiler, and you can not build or run the code you edit from it. Think of Kodex as a NotePad++ or Sublime Text substitute for iPhone and iPad.
Kodex is currently optimized for external keyboards, such as Apple's Smart Keyboard for the iPad Pro, or any bluetooth/USB keyboard. More virtual keyboard features will be added in a future version.

Wie kündige ich das Abo von Kodex?
Öffne die Einstellungen auf deinem iPhone oder iPad, tippe oben auf deine Apple-ID (deinen Namen), gehe zu Abonnements, wähle Kodex aus der Liste und tippe auf Abo kündigen. Die Kündigung wird zum Ende des laufenden Abrechnungszeitraums wirksam; du kannst die App bis dahin weiter nutzen. Wie lösche ich die App Kodex?
Halte das Symbol von Kodex auf dem Home-Bildschirm gedrückt, wähle App entfernen und anschließend App löschen. Wichtig: Wenn du ein aktives Abo hast, wird es beim Löschen der App nicht automatisch gekündigt; kündige zuerst das Abo mit den Schritten oben.

Kodex is good in what it is- if you develop and improve it further, advanced code completion would be nice, for sure. But for now i only have one real problem: always when i use the auto-completion, it doubles the first letter. For example if i write „<ht“ and tap on „<html>“ it makes it: „<hhtml><html>“. If you could please fix that. Besides that, it‘s nice. Only what you need. And an app that doesn‘t take up unnecessarily much space. Update: For a while now, kodex is unusable because it crashes the moment i (try to) open a file. No matter the filetype. Please please fix this! Update: Now it works again - but it‘s likely to be some highly unlikely code ‚void‘ since nothing on the device changed. Anyways.
Der Editor macht einen guten ersten Eindruck. Erscheint sehr aufgeräumt und übersichtlich! Bringt zudem verschiedene Themes mit.
Ich muss sagen das diese App sehr gut ist und auch gratis ist sonst muss man etwa 20€ usw im Monat bezahlen ich kann sie nur weiter empfehlen und sie macht auch sehr sehr Spaß habe einmal 3 Stunden daran gesessen ich kann es nur weiter empfehlen
Inzwischen viel damit gecoded. Läuft prima bis jetzt. Seit ca 2 Wochen im Dauereinsatz!

Best editor i‘ve tried. I usually use it as a markdown editor. It will be awesome if i can see the result in the app.
Nice styles, very well organized, found everything I needed right away. And well integrated for the 2018 iPad Pro.
I‘m using it to prototype ideas in C# and it‘s great. I would really wish that line breaks in multi-line comments would not mess up, though. Else it‘s perfect.
Lovely designed and works with the file app! The App even supported multi line editing before Apple did with Xcode! It is really a great tool for the iPad
Perfect!!! One small problem that exists is that it is not really possible to edit every file even though the options for this is switched on. Files without extension are for example not editable even though very important in Linux-based OSes.
Well designed, very intuitive and pleasant to use. The potential for enhancement is enormous. One suggestion: - Integration of snippet management either own or third party — e.g. Emmet and TextExpander. Keep up the excellent work!
Awesome free code editor. Git integration would be even nicer, but I hope we’ll get that in the future. *wink wink* The themes are beautifully designed and the integration with the file system works remarkably well. Code completion for HTML is a great addition, and I hope to see Swift to be added too soon. Syntax coloring looks great. There’s really nothing I can complain about here. Great work!!!
Negative Bewertungen und Rezensionen zu Kodex
Keine speichern Schaltfläche, nur beim schließen wird gefragt ob gespeichert werden soll. Ich wollte auf GDrive speichern, dann kam „error couldn‘t not save“ und das Dokument war auch weg. Kein „suchen und ersetzen“ Ein Stern wegen der Idee Und noch ein Stern für das Design
Der Editor sieht ja nicht schlecht aus. Aber wieso hat die App einfach ungefragt Zugriff auf meine iCloud-Dokumente!? Und wieso kann ich das nicht selbst verwalten!? Wieder gelöscht...
Verbuggt ohne Ende. Einmal konnte ich eine Datei einfach nicht abspeichern. Nach mehreren Neustarts der App klappte es dann. Außerdem erscheint des öfteren die Tastatur einfach nicht. Weg damit - zum Glück habe ich nichts dafür bezahlt.
Verändert leider ungefragt Dateiendungen. Konkret wurde eine .fasta und .fastaq geöffnet und vom Programm ungefragt als .txt gespeichert.

There’s no way to delete a file, you just can save and hide it. Weird.
It crashes every time I try to open a file. I haven’t even managed to edit anything. (IPad Pro 15.4.1)
Useless for me
I like the idea to have my iPhone/iPad being able to edit code. But please integrate Git remote repositories. Otherwise it’s impossible to use for a lot of people out there.
