ISH Shell Kundenservice

Auf dem iPad haben mir bisher immer Möglichkeiten gefehlt sinnvoll und effizient mit Texten bzw. textbasierten Daten zu arbeiten. iSH stellt eine Linux Shell Umgebung bereit, in der die GNU coreutils, und über die busybox auch awk, sed, grep et al verfügbar sind. Vim als Texteditor meiner Wahl, Git als Versionsverwaltung, sowie tmux um mehrere Konsolen-sessions im selben Fenster offen zu haben sind ebenfalls zuverlässig über iSH benutzbar, was der App einen für mich großen Gebrauchswert gibt.

Diese eine App gibt einem iOS Device endlich die Komponente, die aus einem einfachen Smartphone oder Tablet einen Computer macht! Es ist nicht nur einfach nur ein Terminal. Es ist ein kompletter virtueller x86 PC mit einem kleinen Alpine Linux! Ich kann Projekte aus den GIT Klonen! Sogar Python läuft (wenn auch langsam)... Eine tolle App!!!

Zugegeben nur in einer virtuellen Maschine und in Linux, aber endlich kann man ernsthaft eigene Software auf den iPhone installieren und betreiben. Finally!

Perfekt gelöst, die Möglichkeit Shell Programme unter iOS zu nutzen. Somit kann man diverse Sachen auch von unterwegs testen. Sehr genial gemacht ist der Dateisystem Zugriff über die Dateien App. Vielen Dank

Diese APP stellt ein Linux mit Root-Zugriff zur Verfügung. Super! Was mir fehlt, sind die Funktionstasten F1 bis F24 auf der Tastatur und die Möglichkeit, das ganze System zurückzusetzen, ohne die APP neu installieren zu müssen.

Gute Integration in IOS. Gut um Funktionen zu bekommen, die es bisher in IOS noch nicht gibt.

ISH eignet sich unglaublich gut um kleine CLI Programme zu verwenden, zudem erlaubt es das einfache und saubere zugreifen auf Server mit SSH. Ich benutze das Programm täglich um meinen Raspberry-Pi anzusprechen und es funktioniert Problemlos. Wunderbare App.

Endlich eine richtige Linux Shell Umgebung auf dem iPad. In Kombination mit einem Mapping der Caps-Lock-Taste meiner Apple Tastatur auf „ESC“ lässt sich auch der vi-Editor komfortabel nutzen. Danke für diese geniale App.

Tolle app sehr nützlich bitte mehr updates zu anderen systemen Kali Ubuntu etc.

Bin durch c‘t darauf aufmerksam geworden. Habe openjdk8 installiert und HelloWorld kompiliert. Funktioniert!!! Ganz herzlichen Dank für die viele Arbeit, die du da reingesteckt hast! Und toll, dass es App Store konform ist. 🤞

Endlich gibt es die Möglichkeit eine vollwertige Linuxshell immer dabei zu haben. Egal ob ssh oder vim, klappt alles bestens.

Läuft sofort und schnell. APK kann einfach nachinstalliert werden und danach alle notwendigen Tools :-)

Ich verwende iSH unter iOS/iPadOS hauptsächlich als SSH-Client - funktioniert super, endlich keine Probleme mit den Keys mehr (ssh-agent funktioniert perfekt) und die Bluetooth-Tastaturprobleme meines letzten SSH-Clients (PortX) treten hier auch nicht mehr auf. Cool, und vielen Dank für echte OpenSource-Software auf Apple's Plattform!

Es ist endlich soweit das auch mal Apps Einzug erhalten auf die man schon lange gewartet hat. Das kleine und schlanke Linux lässt kaum Wünsche offen! Mir fehlt zwar noch neovim aber vom macht seinen Job auch. Daher will ich mich nicht beschweren, die App ist mal richtig gut und ein Traum für alle die nicht nur spiele oder im Web surfen wollen. Wenn jetzt noch Apple endlich mal so intelligent wäre wie Samsung und eine volle Bildschirm Unterstützung anbietet bin ich glücklich!😅

Best Linux Emulation

This app has become my new friend. I really enjoy using it, because I don’t have to worry about corruption or bad file management, since it comes with a new directory like a virtual machine. I use NeoVim quite a lot and this app enables me to even use it on the go. I’ve been searching for a VSCode App or an alternative, but always was disappointed, when it came to terminals, until I discovered NeoVim, a in my view better editor than VSCode. But there were a few things I would have liked to be different. First of all, I would have appreciated scrolling with two fingers and generally more gestures, eg. swiping left with three fingers is undo and left is redo. More gestures would be beneficial, since then one would be able to scroll, select and left and right click, without the use of an external keyboard. Also a customizable keyboard would be useful for Vim or other things. Picture this: an edit section, that allows users to add new buttons to the row above the actual keyboard and to add buttons in the actual keyboard, that either output just one key or multiple in a row for commands. Also it could output keys, not present in the usual keyboard or a different keyboard layout, with more swipe action to get to symbols like ~ {} _ even quicker. Thank you so much for this app, I hope you like my idea and maybe will add it soon to this app.

If you are looking for solid SSH client and used to setup everything by the ssh_config file... forget all the rest! Simply edit the sshd_config for root password login, set a passwd, run /usr/sbin/sshd -d and connect from your box to you alpine linux to setup everything you are used from your other environment. It's my all day "system" to do my SSH stuff and MORE :) Go, give it a try!!!

This app is to iOS what Cygwin is to Windows. Really appreciate the effort that has gone into building it and the minimalism of the app interface that just disappears (saving screen real estate) and let’s you focus on what you want to do with it. For me I just needed vim, git and ssh and iSH delivered it all and a lot more!

This might well be the most useful app in the app store. With the addition of the apk package manager this one app now replaces about 10 other apps I had for SSL inspection, ping, and other things like that. Works great in slideover on the iPad too. If like me you work with a lot of web services this app is a must have.

As needed Could you please provide some Single arrow-buttons the multibutton is covered by the Finger and it Covers the current line - and it scrolls way too fast

Awesome app, I am running the app on my iPad Pro already for some months back downloaded from TestFlight. I can handle a lot of my work wherever i am just with my iPad which is just great.

I really love this app, but it is almost not usable with an external keyboard because the bottom tool bar does not hide and output of the shell is behind this bar and not visible. Really hope this gets fixed soon :)

It works good! I can even run nodejs! Some external modules is causing trouble but this is already a big step! Great job!

I think there is a need for a ctrl key and so on. First command to test the app environment was ping... I think i don’t have to say more about the missing ctrl key. Anyway it’s a great app and I’m looking forward to future updates and features. Love it

This is a great and free program however the version of alpine Linux it has is ancient so that might be a thing to keep in mind while troubleshooting

If you are a real terminal mad-lad this can safe you space money and time.

This is not just some shell, but a full Alpine Linux port to iDevices. You can install packages using apk. Runs nearly everything, eg wget/curl, programming languages etc. Thank you, tbodt!

I use this shell for learning only. It’s perfect to use this in our learning group

I do wish it shipped with a package manager. Otherwise it's exactly what a shell on iOS should be like.

Die Idee dieser App ist gut. Es wäre cool wenn noch die Control- und Shift-Taste hinzugefügt wird.. Leider kann man auch keine .sh scripts ausführen. Bitte behebt das.

The blocking of NerdFonts means that a lot off TUIs break. Also you have to overwrite the internal repos so Apk gets you current Neovim instead of the ancient one that didn’t even support Lua. Once you upgrade the repos, everything results in Bad System Calls. But at least you can install Neovim from later last year instead of the ancient one. Everything on Alpine is majorly outdated. Some packages from years ago.

Sadly, the current version isn’t usable. I tried programs that should be working according to the Wiki: sshd, git clone, bash. Everything runs but crashes almost immediately. The emulator even freezes while running nothing at all, just the shell in foreground. I would gladly pay for something like this if it actually worked!

The Keyboard on the IPhone is using only the default iOS buttons. These special buttons should be added like in ServerCat
