Für die Arbeit auf mobilen Endgeräten ein muss. Ich nutze diese App täglich wenn ich auf mein Tablet oder sogar mit meinem Smartphone unterwegs bin. Diese App ist ein fester Bestandteil meiner Entwicklungsumgebung, wenn ich mit mobilen Endgeräten entwickle oder auf Server zugreifen muss.

Endlich eine Escape-Taste und die Funktionstasten sind zurück!

Excellent tool for me as a sysadmin. Works like you expect it. No issues. Works well on my ipad with an external keyboard. The nag screen is pretty intrusive however. It can be super annoying when you are in the middle of getting some work done and it makes you lose focus. I understand that a subscription model is attractive for the dev if they provide this software as a service. For me personally that just wants to ssh in to his remote machines this is a little bit too much when there are so many free alternatives out there. It is the best tool available imo. It is just the question if you really need it.

But the current version crashes when trying to add a new window with two-finger-tap.

Blink with mosh is one of the indispensable apps I‘ve been using for many years. I have no idea what the original price was, I just remember that it was not exactly cheap but I decided to support the project, so I didn‘t compile it myself but bought it. It was worth every cent. I‘m really curious what the new release brings, thank you!

I was really disappointed to find out that my M1 processor-enabled iPad Pro does not really support any programming interfaces (and if so just Python [thanks to some other cool apps]). So, I went ahead and bought a Raspberry Pi 4 and needed a way to communicate with it from the iPad (and use VS Code for programming). Enter Blink! I could not be happier with it! The nominal fee for a yearly subscription is more than justified.

Gutes Tool, damals für 20 € erhältlich. Mittlerweile fast 10 € pro Monat. Die Alte Version funktioniert nicht mehr richtig und wird auch nicht mehr zum Download angeboten. Danke für nichts!

The app has some great approaches, but with the on screen keyboard difficult to use. Especially the VScode editor. For a on screen keyboard only user like me, there are better SSH app end the usage of VScode through the browser is much fore comfortable. Most annoying issue: the hassle with close tabs and windows.

Durch die Umstellung auf Abomodell zeigt der Entwickler das man ihm als Kunde nicht vertrauen kann. Gekaufte Software wird plötzlich wertlos. Ich verzichte gerne auf Software wo die langfristigen Kosten nicht kalkulierbar sind. Was passiert wenn der Entwickler demnächst 100€ pro Monat verlangt, weil seine Kunden in seiner Software gefangen sind?

Damals für 20 Euro nicht billig, jedoch jeden Cent wert. Jetzt muss monatlich gezahlt werden. Die alte App enthält aufeinmal schwerwiegende Bugs, nachdem viele trotzdem nicht umgestiegen sind. Jetzt ist die App wertlos, da ich nicht monatlich fast 10 Euro für eine Shell ausgeben möchte. (in 4 Jahren sind das über 400 Euro! :D). Selten sowas unverschämtes erlebt.

Hab die App damals gekauft, aber durch das neue Update werde ich gezwungen jeden Monat dafür zu bezahlen!

War einst ein tolles Werkzeug doch es scheint hier ist das Geld von den Kunden mehr im Fokos zu stehen doppelt kassiert Jahresbeitrag und monatliche Gebühr unfassbar

Damals teuer gekauft, jetzt durch Update entwertet. Vertrauen zerstört. Würde niemals ein Abo erwägen um so ein Verhalten auch noch zu belohnen.

I tested Blink Shell specifically for emergency SSH access on an iPhone with an external keyboard. Unfortunately, it completely fails at that task. The main issue is display orientation. Even when holding the iPhone in landscape and enabling rotation lock, the app immediately forces itself back into portrait mode. This makes serious work with an external keyboard extremely frustrating and often impossible. This is not a cosmetic issue. For emergency use, stable landscape mode is absolutely essential. My frustration is not about the yearly subscription price. I would happily pay for a reliable tool. The problem is that Blink cannot handle the one thing you actually need in a real emergency. I was hoping to finally stop carrying my MacBook everywhere just for SSH access. Sadly, because of this issue, I still have to. It may work on iPad, but on iPhone, in its current state, Blink Shell is not suitable for emergency admin work.

Bit of a shock to see the icon on my Blink greyed out, even though it worked fine, and now there’s a new app with a new model and we’re supposed to be grandfathered in, but no idea how. Panic did this with their shell once, they just ditched it and brought a new one out, and ensured the old version just wouldn’t work on the new system. Honestly people, don’t bother with this stuff, just use a Mac.

Last updates made blink more crash-prone than ever. No session without crashes (sometimes on ctrl-d) or nuisances (no text on typing). Current state of software: more expensive / less reliable / customer looking for alternatives Former state: rather reliable / worth every penny / satisfied customer P

Came back to Blink after a few years without an ipad. Sad to see that its now subscription only. I also paid the original price of 20€ back in the day and loved it. In light of several other free/onetimepayment options for ssh shells I will not pay a subscription.

I bought the previous version and there was the promise for some kind of grandfathering but I cannot use the app anymore because they want you to subscribe. What a sh"tshow.

Seems like you can only choose between two subscription models now with the free option being gone, unless I'm missing something this app is unusable without paying.

One it was a cool tool. ok. 20€. expensive, but cool. now: monthly payment? 10 per month. seriously? and the old app that I purchased is not working anylonger. I payed for it! You are kidding me. sorry. no way. unfortunately 0 stars not possible here.

Already paid for the app and now the developer wants me to subscribe because I didn’t complete the migration from the „legacy“ version fast enough.

Requires a subscription now with no options to continue use as it was. Pretty disappointing change. Deleting the app and looking for alternatives.

I don’t get how the app I had purchased before suddenly requires subscription.

For me no longer usable.

App turned from 100% free into subscription only without free tear. Not gonna pay for a ssh terminal. I don’t need all the other new stuff in this app.
