Gute App, hilft mir gut in der Uni

Dieses einsprachige englische Wörterbuch bietet sehr flinken Zugriff auf die verschiedenen Wortbedeutungen und bietet direkte Verknüpfung zu verwandten Begriffen. Da die Anwendung bei der Installation gleich die Datenbank mitlädt, ist für die Arbeit mit dem Programm keine Internetverbindung erforderlich. Nachteilig ist, dass neben den verschiedenen Bedeutungen keine Hinweise auf die Herkunft oder die Phonetik gegeben werden. Auch könnte die Liste der Ergebnisse durch größere Abstände der Absätze etwas übersichtlicher werden. Da die Software aber kostenlos angeboten wird, und ein echter Gewinn ist für mein Studium, bekommt sie volle fünf Sterne.

Über die Qualität des zu Grunde liegenden Wordnet Dictionary kann man nur Gutes sagen. Das Programm hier ist eigentlich auch super. Leider teilweise unübersichtlich, speziell bei der Darstellung der Definition, und es ruckelt sogar auf dem superschnellen iPad. Auf Suchergebnisse muss man teilweise warten, je nach Suchmethode. Ein Konkurrenzprodukt auf der selben Grundlage hat diese Mängel nicht, zeigt die Definition schöner an, dafür ist die Programmoberfläche nicht ganz so klar wie hier. Man muss sich entscheiden, was Wichtiger ist ;)

Ein tolles Wörterbuch des Englischen, das alles bietet, was man erwartet: Synonyme, Antonyme, Hypernyme, und vieles mehr. Unter iPhone OS 3 habe ich es regelmäßig genutzt. Leider funktioniert es unter iOS 4 nicht mehr. Ich hoffe auf ein rasches Update.

Worked great before. Great definitions & thesaurus. Unfortunately since the last update it no longer starts up on the iPhone and no matter how great an app is if one can not use it, it's a failure.

I'm completely satisfied with the user interface as well as the options to the left. I'm sure I'll use this app for a long time to come.

Very ugly. Not what I expected from the Oxford English Dictionary Press.

Übersichtlich aufgebaut und klare Definitionen. Leider fehlen im Wortschatz Alt-Englische Begriffe und auch Lautschrift gibt es keine.

Den einen Stern nur, weil's niedriger nicht geht! Habe bei ein paar Wörtern die Audioausgabe ausprobiert und musste feststellen, dass das mit Englisch wenig zu tun hatte. Die verzerrte Computerstimme klang irgendwie französisch... Sofort wieder deinstalliert und mich kurz über die 1,99€ geärgert.
