Sehr gute Hilfe für unterwegs, um schnell ein Wort nachzuschlagen oder die Bedeutung einer Abkürzung zu erkunden. Ersetzt aber keinesfalls die Print-Edition und ein Collocation Dictionary, wenn man als Nicht-Muttersprachler viel schreibt.

Die Qualität der Aussprache für den Preis müsste besser sein.

Sehr schönes und hilfreiches Tool. Aber man sollte zu einem Wort on the fly zwischen den Wörterbüchern hin- und herschalten können. Oder man sieht die zwei oder drei ausgewählten Lexika für ein Stichwort untereinander. Wie in der Mac App Dictionary. Gerade muss man das Wörterbuch wechseln und dann das Stichwort neu eingeben. Das ist nicht komfortabel.

Die App ist an sich sehr gut, aber nach ein paar mal benutzen kommt immer wieder die frage ob ich etwas kaufen möchte. Also ich gebe der App vier ein halb Sterne

A great way to have a dictionary with you at all times rather than carrying around a physical dictionary. There is nothing worse than being on public transport or in a cafe with a good book and you come across a word you don’t know the meaning of and have to guess its meaning as you have no dictionary at hand. It is also great as I am now living in Germany and English has become my second language there are times I have forgotten the correct meaning of a word I haven’t used for years and can do a quick check on this app.

The OALD is a very useful tool for every student of English at an intermediate to advanced level. As a monolingual dictionary it cannot be replaced by any bilingual dictionary nor by any translation software because it shows you the correct use of the vocabulary in the sentence.

Every time I use this app this rating request would pop up, which is really annoying! Another problem is that there’s no difference between the off-line mode and the normal mode, except for that if u r on normal mode and there’s no internet connection, a message telling u that can’t use normal mode will immediately and repeatedly interrupt ur operation, making u unable to turn on the off-line mode 😂 . Ansonst alles perfekt.

„Wonderfully precise definitions of, if necessary, all variations of each word meaning, usually more than one good example of use. I too love the „Word of the Day“. Just a shame that the pronunciation is now no longer free - though understandable, as we we should all be prepared to pay for something as good as this.

For a Student who reads comprehensive articles, journals, or books. This online dictionary is totally helpful for me to find new vocabulary that’s not used in everyday life as a student, also could be used offline.

You get, at least as far as I can tell, the best dictionary that money can buy. Independent which language you chose, the quality is equally to all of them.

I have lived with OALD for nearly thirty-five years. Frankly speaking I have to say OALD is more user-friendly and more practical. On the other hand lack of pictures and illustrations is significantly felt with this very version of Oxford dictionary.

I use this app now and then to remind me of some of the meanings of the words. It’s been very useful especially when you live in a foreign country whereby English is not the main language!

I find this Dictionary very useful. There is Not a word i dont find. And there is also the word of the day, which is interesting. And all that is on the House. I didnt pay a Cent for all that.

No flaws although it is har sometimes to find certain things in a Definition.

A good dictionary. The audio files good be better. Their quality is not that high. I also miss some extras. What are the „Facourites“ for if you cannot practise properly with them.

The dictionary certainly covers many words of the English language - but when you try to look up more obscure words they are simply missing (“quisquilious” as a single example, but this has happened a number of times) Also the facts section is out of date. Barack Obama is no longer the US president. I would expect an online app to stay on top of this kind of thing. Slightly disappointing.

Hi, sorry for the German language below. Die Funkionalitaet ist sehr gut, aber - die Oberfläche ist massiv ueberladen mit Werbung und word of the day. Das will ich alles nicht! Or, more precise: I have turned off word of the day in the settings and there is still a word of the day occupying 25% of my display in the center of the screen - When I am in online mode and start the App but the internet connection is lost, I have to click away four times the error message „No Internet Connection Internet connection required. Please check your settings and try again.“ before I can switch to offline mode. - the App permanently urges me to rate it five stars. This seems to be more American than British style to me, but in any case it is not German style. Try to convince me with quality!

I have this app installed to improve my English. However, I can not understand why it is not possible listening the vocabularies. So many other free apps do that, but not those expensive ones. Very disappointed that I paid so much money for this app - even one of my aims is to improve my pronunciation. Correction: I have just installed the App “Talk&Translate” and now I can hear the vocabulary in this dictionary.

I like the app but two things should be improved soon: 1. The pronunciation button does not work on my phone. I don’t know why. Bug?! 2. The random vocal of the day function should be smarter. It is not helpful to learn a name of a famous person - in my opinion. And I would prefer phrases and expressions instead of a single word. Greetings Mark

This is my most favorite dictionary which contains almost every single word available nowadays. The feature of pressing on a word and looking it up is so amazing, however what I hate most in the app is only looking up one word per day, which basically means the app is useless unless you purchase it. At least make some built-in ads instead of one word a day feature.

The current version shows ads left and right and makes it very difficult to find the results. It was a really good dictionary and probably still is. It's a shame it takes you forever to find that out, because you have to close all the ads.

I purchased the app in hopes that it would have an offline function but it doesn't. I also had a lot of words stored in various folders but the last few updates totally botched the function, making them inaccessible. I tried to like it but never could. Super dissatisfied.

Don’t even offer a free version if you’re going to make it practically unusable. Within the first ten seconds of trying to use the app the first time I was overwhelmed with painfully obstructive advertising and have no reason to use the app. As a result, i have no reason to believe that the pro version is worth it for 10,99€.

I was happy when you bought access to a great dictionary by paying for this app. I am very unhappy that I now get advertisements, surveillance, and a minimum cost of like €5/month. I’ll pay that for a newspaper, but not to add a few words a year and have sufficient cybersecurity that I can check spelling and definitions.

I pay €45 per year for this app. You can BUY other dictionaries for €30 and then have them forever. >> And now I’m also being shown ads that I can’t skip and have to watch to the end!?!?! Absolutely outrageous. The dictionary itself is good. But the above is unacceptable. Shameless in every way.

Devs, come on, you can do much better! An unskippable ad only every second-third tap ain’t enough. But jokes aside: if you wanna quickly check a word, then you must watch at least one ad; some of the ads are not only long, but also require THREE (THREE, CARL!!!) taps to skip. Ew. Do not recommend.

The app should be made sleeker and more minimalistic. The price of the premium version — 22€ — is too high. Merriam-Webster costs a fraction. When I scroll up or down, the ads sometimes not move fast enough and get stuck in the middle of the screen. If you put ads in the app, at least make them not obnoxious.

It can only translate from or to English, for example can’t translate from German to Chinese. Not flexible enough like DeepL or Google. Also can’t pronounce. No thesaurus. No tense.
