SuggestionA lot of people claim that their joints ache or levels of chronic pain and fatigue are affected by barometric pressure. So, I got this ap to start keeping track. Good intentionsThis app seems to work well enough for what it does. As previously stated, it seems to be a bit off, but your iPhone isn’t a barometer, so as long as you have the offset corrections set it’s good enough. My problem lies in the background app refresh. What I really want to see from this app is the graph of past barometer data so I can track migraines. Unfortunately, for this to work, I have a flashing blue bar across the top of my phone screen constantly that says “Barometer Plus is Actively Using Your Location”, even though it should only be updating every hour. The flashing blue bar is enough to make me close the app, rendering the pressure history useless. Get to know itAs a professional avalanche forecaster snd fly fishing guide, I’m constantly watching the weather. I got this app as a quick reference to monitor pressure trends. After learning about all it can do, I’ve discovered it’s a powerful app. Exporting pressure data into spreadsheets and graphing is super helpful. It’s easy to read and looks great on the iPad. I’d recommend studying up barometric pressure then revisit this app and take some time to get to know it. As far as accuracy, I’ve compared it with actual NWS surface pressure charts along with other instruments. LOVE this app!I’ve been looking for a reliable barometer where I could track the changes. All other weather apps I have only gave me the pressure for that one moment, and I certainly do not have time to chart all the changes. Testing this outThe past couple weeks in my area we’ve had major changes in the weather with a couple tornado warnings here and there, & maybe it’s just a coincidence, but each time there was a tornado warning I would experience severe dizziness and shaking followed by a major head and body ache, so I’m using this app to track the barometric pressure & trying to see if when it hits a certain low, if that’s when I get my “episodes” for lack of a better term. It's OKNice graphic when you first open it, but it oversimplifies the concept of barometric pressure's impact on weather. Whether it's raining or not has more to do with the trend rather than the actual barometric pressure value. Just because barometric pressure is low doesn't mean it is raining. The timeframe options for the graphics are silly because they only change how far back you can look at barometric pressure data. Very important app!!I have an illness that gets worse with barometric changes. When it gets low, it gets really bad. Flying is hard because of the low cabin pressure. Using for Tracking Arthritic PainMy mom has severe arthritis and I downloaded this app to try to get a handle on her pain fluctuations. One thing I really like about this app is that readings are shown on a scale from high to low pressure. I don’t know anything about reading barometric pressure so this scale is really informative ( highs and lows). Pain ForecastWith 2 forms of arthritis and roving pain I started noticing the pain level changes with the weather...i finally figured out it’s tied to the barometric pressure. 30+ seems to be the point of less pain…while the farther below 30 it gets the greater the pain. The more I work with it …Great potential when all of the features are made working, or the working features function as they’re supposed to. It’s a good beta, but you shouldn’t be either billed a rather trivial fee for the “platinum edition” or be subject to ads, some of which BLAST sound until everything’s working. The more niggling little improvements this basically good, adequate program needs: The gradations are unmarked, the inner dial with numbers is neither linear nor logarithmic. Barometric pressure changes, moment by moment, especially if you claim to be reporting 100ths of an inch, Hg. Which means accuracy requires either a fantastic sensor in the phone or some way to calibrate each sensor, either in firmware or software. Program claims to provide 1 fixed and 10 user-set points at which it will make an announcement of an unusual shift - only fixed works! The page is there to set things, but they don’t do anything. Move a finger on the screen, and the common “marker needle” moves too. A page for “my locations” doesn’t al Indicate what’s in use, nor does it allow changes, erasures, placement in order, etc. another “looks like a feature or is it inoperative bling. The history page of evy sensor reading (down to 5 minutes per) can be cleared, one reading at a time or all, and chops off the last couple of digits from the largest-screen i15 available. Lastly and most importantly, I don’t know whose reading I’m getting, though I’ve given it the local airport w/NOAA sensors. It may be reading that, or chronic (and uncomfortable) use of location service, which “Find My” has proven accurate within 10 feet. Too small for easy viewingAll of the text is too small for easy viewing, especially the altimeter, and there is no setting to adjust this. It is totally unusable if you were wanting the data with a quick glance, or if you were wanting to follow the changes as you are driving. The data is so tiny I have to really squint and still can’t make out all of the numbers, and there isn’t even a way to zoom in, so I am stuck with the tiny text. We need a way to enlarge the text, or an option to just choose a digital display with larger text (without the gauge image). Also, it would be nice to be able to switch the main gauge view between altimeter and barometer, instead of always having the barometer on top. I cannot rate the function of the app, since it is unusable due to the tiny interface text. Lowered my ratingAside from my first evaluation being that the weather icons are the opposite of what is actually accurate, the developers reply I got was wordy and poorly written. The developer didn’t seem to understand my point. When the barometric pressure is above 30 it’s more likely cloudy or poorer weather and when it’s below 30 it’s less pressure so it’s generally fair weather. It’s not at all what it shows on the screen. Also it sounds like the info they get is based off the local airport (for my location) even though it’s a good hour from where I’m actually at. Doesn’t Work For MeI was cleaning up my App Library when I noticed Barometer Plus sitting there. I had totally forgotten about it because since I downloaded and configured it a while ago, I don’t recall ever getting a notification of a pressure drop or increase set to my parameters, and all I see when I try to view the graph is a single plot point. It’s a shame because I have a condition that is affected by changes in barometric pressure, and this is exactly the type of tool that could help. I’m running the paid version on iOS 16.
