**REQUIREMENTS**
• DIRECTV customers must have a Residential Home account registered on DIRECTV's website to access the app 
• Watching On Demand or select Live TV Streaming channels outside the home requires an active Wi-Fi or 3G/4G Internet connection. For best performance, connect to a strong Wi-Fi signal.
• Available content is based on your current programming package and premium service. Not all content is available to stream at this time
• Live TV Streaming in-home only channels and remote control requires a Wi-Fi connection to your home network and a DIRECTV Plus® HD DVR (models R22, and HR20 or higher) connected to a broadband Internet connection. Remote control also works with HD receivers (models H21, H23 or higher) connected to a broadband Internet connection
• DVR streaming and downloading requires Internet-connected Genie HD DVR model HR44 or higher and compatible mobile device. To download, must be in-home on same Wi-Fi network connected to DVR
• App download, advertisements and non-streaming app activity may incur data usage
• Scheduling a recording requires a Wi-Fi, or mobile network connection and a DIRECTV Plus® DVR or HD DVR

Great when it worksThe app keeps resetting wiping out my downloads which I can’t even access even when they are there without getting permission over the internet. You can watch them once that permission has been obtained without the internet but the claim that you can watch them without the internet isn’t quite true. It seems that AT&T puts a much higher priority on digital rights management than usability of the software. I don’t know if it’s a hardware or software issue but most of the time I have trouble getting the required connection quality to watch my download programs. Even when my on demand functions work perfectly. I also am wondering what happens to the data of my downloaded programs when they disappear after a reset are they still there wasting my memory space but invisible or is it actually gone? AT&T has some the brightest engineers around so I don’t understand why they can’t fix these issues..Version: 5.8.006

Selecting a TV show or movie.So it fair for my comments I think I should say I’ using the app on and iPhone 6 that’s using the iOS version 11.2.1. With out making the thumbs nails smaller I’m not sure how you get more on the screen, but as I’m seeing four of every category then as I try and skip ahead with in the category it will only load the next 3 the get hung up and then spend thirty to sixty seconds trying to reconnect. So the app can reload the same thumb nails. Happens a lot in the Live category. I am only make the assumption that it is updating the app because live TV is that. Live TV, so it must update. Yet, it is very annoying. I watch a certain sport show that’s broadcast live on the app starting at 9:00 AM CST and ends at 12:00CST and and once it’s going J don’t have that many issues, but with the constant reloading of the thumbnails makes me be like a ninja swiping from right to left trying to reach my TV show before it makes the decision to reset and then start the list over. That’s is really frustrating. I have more, but I’m sure people have fallen asleep by now..Version: 5.5.004

Nothing comes closeBeing able to live around the United States in so many different places experiencing all that there is, there’s no other experience better than DirecTV and AT&T. Both are the dominant leaders in each market not only because of their strive to do what is best for their customers in part by what they have to offer, but by the uncompromising level of customer service they bring to the table over and over and over again. Other networks say they do this and do that only to truly be hypocritical of others in so many ways, but I’m my experience in many years now in service we have been given the red carpet treatment through and through. There isn’t a cable company, nor cell phone carrier that’ll ever be able to give you the quality customer care that you’ll be given within Directv and At&t. Not Comcast, not Verizon, not Charter, DEFINATELY NOT LIARS AND STEALERS SPRINT, not anyone. To be fair, At&t back in the day experimented with using third party contractors which I believe led to loss of customer base, so years recently in the area I live in currently the contractors are now all At&t employees and the service now rendered is a ten fold turnaround. So if you were an unlucky victim of those third party hacks, try back soon and you’ll see a change of the way business with them is done. We did, and so, our venture with both At&t and Directv has been a marvelous one..Version: 5.4.002

Almost perfectThis app is very useful especially if you are an individual using AT&T mobile services. It allows you to stream your Directv channels away from home and it works most of the time. One of the best features of this app is the ability to download and/or stream any recorded shows/programs that are on the receiver at home from about anywhere there’s a strong enough phone signal. With that being said, there are a few things that could improve; for instance, finding a way to be able to stream blacked out events (generally, as it’s not just a Directv and AT&T issue), and making it a smoother experience to stream recorded shows and programs as there’s a tendency for it to take a while before loading the contents. Overall this app is very useful especially considering how important we (consumers) think it is to be able to access a service we are paying for outside of our home..Version: 5.6.003

Direct TVI am in the Select package and am so unhappy with the few channels that are in this package!!!!I don’t want all the products one are on several channels and reruns it makes it hard for people that CANNOT afford their entertainment package because of having to choose between medicines or tv!!!!I have been with you for many many years and this is option I cannot accept!!!Its to bad you don’t offer a Senior Citizen disabled package for people that only have tv to watch!!Some day Youll understand but till then I’ll continue to watch reruns and add because you are in for the money and I’m stuck with this Stupid Select package!!!apparently no one is Old disabled and on a low income!!!!!SoSAD Direct Tv you can do better!!!!We will stay with you and hope some day you’ll have a heart and have some program for older low income disabled people!!!!Till then God be with you !!!Money isn’t everything!!!BUT I DO lOVE DIRECT TV.Version: 5.8.006

It’s broken! Needs to be fixed now!!!!!!This is the worst app debacle in my six years plus of owning an iPhone! I understand they’re supposed to be a new update coming, but somewhere in the process they have completely broke in the app! I have access to nothing, because it will not let me sign in because every time I try I’m told that I am not authorized access this website which is complete garbage. I know my user ID and password are valid because I’m able to login to my AT&T without any problems whatsoever! and since I don’t see well enough to read the ad screen guide on my TV, I don’t have access to all the services being provided for my money. This is completely inexcusable, and I hope it is taken care of much sooner than later, because I guarantee myself and probably anyone else affected will be calling and amending refunds for the lack of access. The sad thing is, when the app works it’s great! But right now it’s trash and it’s broken!!!!!!.Version: 5.14.002

Almost 5 starsWell I am pleased to say that y'all fixed the issue with this app crashing each time I changed the channel on the live tv. It's working better, however, it freezes up all the time. Then it unfreezes and only the audio works with the picture still frozen. I can see the app is running much better so I'll change my two stars to three. Tech support is an issue also. When I try to go through them and they tell me to go and check if it's fixed I lose connection with them. Our whole conversation is gone, there is no way to find that tech, and there is no history of it to look back up. That needs to be fixed. There should be a way to give each person a number each time they contact tech support. That way I can put that number in and find where we left off if you get disconnected..Version: 5.6.003

Constantly having to verify my identityI love this app when it works but every once in a while a account verification notice comes up. I have entered my ID and password correctly and it keeps giving me the error “whoops! Looks like you entered an invalid character.” It forces you to call customer service and this is never a smooth fix. If your lucky you can get it fixed by talking to the CORRECT person who knows how to get you up and going again. Rarely this happens!!!! I wish they would do like any other utility company and just cut off my service if I don’t pay my bill and scratch the account verification. This is giving Directv a very bad reputation. They do not listen to their customers at all. I have read the reviews and it seems I'm not the only customer having the SAME ISSUE..Version: 5.15.004

Could be betterWhenever using the app every so often the screen will just go black for a few seconds skipping vital moments of programming. If I rewind it , it just happens again. Why is this happening? There’s no real way to fast forward through commercials. On demand has way too many ads that you cannot skip. Makes no sense. This is the only service I’ve ever had where you pay for the service and have to watch ads while watching on demand programs. If you record something half way through a program it starts several seconds after hitting record. Not like the former cable optics where if you hit record it starts from the beginning. Not only is that not an option it actual starts seconds after hitting record. I don’t know if I’d refer this product. I think it has a long way to go. I was told the price would never go up, but guess what? It did in under a year..Version: 6.1.002

Good when it worksThis is my favorite TV app... with the caveat that it’s only my favorite when it works. Watching live seems to have less issues than on demand . Unfortunately for me I mostly watch shows on demand. At least once a day the app cuts out in the middle of my show, pops up with error messages to try again when I return home (when I’m in my house), and when I try to get back into my show more often than not the app crashes and refuses to load at all. When this happens I usually have to restart my phone (I’ve had to restart my mobile more times in the past 3 months than in the entire 7 years I’ve owned a smartphone). Sometimes restarting resets the app and I carry on with my show, other times the episode has suddenly become unavailable (when it should still be available). It’s such a headache. In fact, it’s enough of a headache that I find myself wondering whether to renew my DirectTV subscription at all..Version: 5.15.004

TrashThis app is so trash that I took time out of my day just to review it as trash. I mean cable providers apps work way better then this (spectrum) when I select a program it brings up another window just to watch the program I clicked on, you have to click the play button to bring it up on the main screen which is stupid. Sometimes two programs are playing at once so then I get double audio and that’s annoying. Your loading time is horrible when I’m connected to my own internet. You guys black our most of the stuff that I want to watch. When I pay for your services I don’t want ANY black outs I’m paying for it I deserve to take it and watch it anywhere I please! And the navigation don’t get my started just to find sports games is ridiculous trying to find anything is just difficult I only put up with this cause you have the NFL package.Version: 5.16.008

I was beginning to think I’d gone completely stupid.....Update....not working on iPhone XR, iPhone 7 or 2nd gen and 4th gen iPads. 😡🤯🤬 I’ve been having problems with this app on my iPad for at least a month. App works fine (knock on wood) on my iPhone XR and my 5 year-old iPad. But when I try to launch it on my IPad that’s less than a year old, I’m getting the same errors others are reporting....”unknown error”, “incorrect user ID”, “user ID not valid for this account”, etc, etc, etc. I’ve tried “forgot user ID” and I am using the correct one. Changed passwords more times than I can count, tried linking and unlinking email and DirecTV accounts and still getting ambiguous errors. Relieved to see it’s not me but to say it’s frustrating is an understatement!!.Version: 5.21.004

Manny Balugas. The one the only DIRECT-TVI’ve been with DIRECT-TV for close to 20 Years the picture ,resolution just blows my mind away & all my friends too Everyone is afraid of losing signal it’s all a bunch of hype I’ve lost it twice is the craziest of storms that even took out the power as long as you have 100.% on your signal meter. You’ll be fine with regular weather rain, snow ,wind but not no crazy nor’easter There service is topnotch if they can’t fix it in 5-10 minutes on the phone they will send a professional to fix it I’ve had friends that left D-T. & tried all these new companies that sounds so good cheap boxes those everything but then the time period it up & 👀there eyes blow up & come back to the one & only true eye popping DIREDT-TV.Version: 5.8.006

It works with some glitches but last update killed Apple TV mirroring.Bring back Apple TV mirroring to cellphones registered to an AT&T wireless plan with DirecTV account. The mobile app is excellent when you are away from the home and most glitches can be corrected by restarting the app. My main problem is that they disabled Apple TV mirroring function and the DirecTV app complains that screen recording is on. I understand that the content providers would not approve screen recording but Apple TV mirroring just allows you to see your shows in a bigger screen. An iPad has a decent size screen but not cellphones. When you can use Apple TV with a cellphone registered to an AT&T account with DirecTV, you should be able to mirror. It limits the use to just the paying subscribers. Please bring back Apple TV mirroring to make it useful for those than can take advantage of an available Apple TV..Version: 5.7.002

Almost perfectPros: mostly super easy to use, saves us when we forget to record the game or a show. Nice to be able to watch something on mobile from wherever I am... Handy to use phone as a remote. Cons: Can't always watch shows on app. Doesn't show channel number when searching by name, so you're not always 100% sure you're recording the correct thing. Not perfect for recording sporting events for the same reason: doesn't show channel name, number or date in the search results until you click through individually. Makes it more complicated than it should be and takes longer to find what you want. Overall, though, very handy. Recommend!.Version: 5.4.002

Direct Tv appWould give it 5 stars if it didn’t glitch and freeze so much. Every time I try to watch shows or movies it would freeze or say show is not available when it should be. For example, if an episode of something aired the night before and I’ve been able to get a start on that episode, when I try to resume it, it says show is not available and it does it constantly where it gets really annoying. Another issue is that it freezes a lot. Third issue, I cannot fast forward to resume where I left off on an episode. Last issue, sometimes when I try to watch something it says I don’t have the channel subscription, yet I have it on my actual television? App needs to be fixed, other than that, it’s easy to navigate and I like how you can view old seasons (e.g. 2011-present) viewings..Version: 5.5.004
