Best approach to flash cards + devs love feedback!Knowt is a Quizlet alternative with the most intuitive and effective approach to studying flash cards I’ve seen in any learning platform. You can choose which types of questions you want to see when studying each flash card set, and if you chose multiple, it will introduce each term with a simple true/false or multiple choice answer before testing your active recall with written response questions. Knowt also has intelligent typo detection to mark very close answers as correct, and allows you to override correct answers as incorrect and vice versa. My original review was critical of some recent features that I thought were obstacles to studying and alienated users who wanted to escape from Quizlet’s feature bloat. After I submitted an admittedly whiney support ticket vaguely complaining about my gripes (expecting a bot response or none at all), the CEO reached out to ask for my genuine opinion. We exchanged emails and a patch was rolled out the same day that fixed the issues I had with the new streak and XP systems’ intrusive pop-up notifications. Great Support for AP ExamsI love the numerous features on Knowt. Like others, Quizlet has gotten ridiculous to work with, and I felt I needed continuous support with flashcards and memorizing. I loved the spaced out repetition on Knowt, which made me feel confident in my materials. I liked how– and this may depend on what you’re studying on there– but I could find all the units of my choice. I could focus on one unit or look at them all. I could do flashcards for the entirety or also search up another section (ex: Supreme Court cases). Because Knowt is on your phone, you can open the app and practice anytime. Everything is in one place and it makes it so easy. My favorite feature might be the MCQ practices, again, I could use it anytime I wanted and it was nice to practice with my friends. Thank you Knowt for being the support I needed!! I hope to see more updates and hopefully I find it just as useful for other APs and IB classes. More diverse questionsI’m currently using the knowt apps practice exams features because that’s the best way I learn but here are some things I realized. 1. The practice exams are really limited from 8-12 questions at a time which is great but I would like the option to choose how many questions so I can practice like an actual exam. Another problem I have is that since I’m implementing about 19 pages worth of material the AI can’t handle that and they ask the same type of questions from one section consistently while disregarding the 100s of other types of questions they can ask from all the material available . So I then tried to break it up section by section so it’s more digestible for AI and while that helped a ton it’s again the same questions over and over and not asked in a different way and I’m still noticing that some material is still not being asked of me on the practice exams. Which is quite annoying since I enjoy using the practice exams other than the learn method. Overall though the app is great if you want to actually learn the material and have a better understanding but you’ll have more luck writing your own exam and letting the AI work with what you wrote rather than what it’s coming up with..Bookworm_1141Version: 1.12.0

Good AppI think this app is on par with Quizlet especially the free version. I do think that Quizlet has some features Knowt should add. If Knowt added them, it would be better than Quizlet hands down. The one bad thing I have to say about this is app, is when studying and doing multiple choice, it can be difficult. If you have a 2 different questions with same answer, it will pull the answer from both and put as a choice... If you don't pick the one for that question it's counted wrong, even though it's the same answer I still use Quizlet and paid for a year subscription bc I think it edges Knowt out in creating flashcards from PDF/Images.. Quizlet has a feature where you pick your photo of your document and you can highlight to make a flashcard... That feature makes it a little bit better bc the AI on both apps isn't the greatest at reading a document and making flashcards. I think Knowt AI is a little better at reading documents and making cards over Quizlet. But Quizlet has been doing this a long time and it's easier.... A lifesaver in studyingI had been searching for a Quizlet replacement for quite awhile when I found Knowt, and it is exactly what I would want. It helped me through AP exams quite a bit. I also use it for many other purposes, such as memorization. Even if Quizlet had not ceased to be a free service, I have to say I would still choose Knowt over it. It’s convenient, practical, and well-equipped with preexisting resources for every AP exam. The ease of transferring notes and flash cards from other sites is probably one of my favorite features. It’s definitely not perfect, but most of my gripes are rather trivial and do not greatly impact my experience. I still think this is a five star app. I will say I haven’t found much use in the AI features of the app which are very prominent in advertising. Amazing, but ONE Minor FlawAfter quizlet's betrayal, I searched far and wide for a similar alternative and I found Knowt. It's amazing because it has every feature quizlet has but for free! I love all the AI-related features, the fact that it has an active recall feature, and the easy importation of notes, videos or even pre-existing quiz lets. I love it and I'll be using this forever. The only minor flaw that I see is the iPad's version of the app. I would very much like it to be compatible with the "slide-over" feature Apple has, in order to pair it with notes. I also don't really enjoy the fact that it's still vertical in horizontal mode. I know the app literally just came out so I'm not really upset, but just something to maybe prioritize for future updates. Another thing is that personally I would love a button that takes you all the way to the bottom of the flash card set, as there is once that takes you all the way up. AMAZING app, but…..I love this app so much. It’s helped me study quite a lot and prepare well. However there are a few issues you should most likely fix. Firstly, some of the flash cards have no definitions which is quite odd considering this is a STUDYING app (unless it was a bug on my end). Secondly is the fact that the notes don’t go into that much depth. Don’t get me wrong, it is a great app to study with, but compared to online videos (say Heimler for World History), the information isn’t as specific as those. Lastly, when I try to scroll down and answer some multiple choice questions, the app thinks I’m trying to answer! So while my thumb is on the screen scrolling it thinks I’m choosing an answer and I get it wrong. Overall this is a wonderful app but there could be a few mistakes fixed. So helpfulI’ve been using Knowt for my college classes it is so convenient to transfer over Quizlets and I really love how the learn feature works. My only issues is the audio feature, I’m dyslexic and it is so much easier to process the information if I can hear it. The app dose have an audio feature in the learn tab yet It only reads what is presented above and dose not read your answer to you nor dose it do this automatically. There is no audio feature in the setting to have it read it automatically and I often have issues with it taking anywhere from 10-30 seconds to loud the audio for every term. I would love if it could automatically read me my flash cards so I can listen and understand the information without having to press a button and wait for it to loud for ever side of every flash card as well as reading both the term and definition to you in the learn tab automatically..Underage storyVersion: 1.4.0

Listens to suggestions great potential so far!A few months back, I've tried searching for this app to find that it didn't exist in the app store. Nevertheless, around this week, I looked and voila this app was here! I went around and tested the app and it was pretty solid! Although there were some bugs places that could have been improved on potential features not implemented yet, Knowt still showed their ambition to listen to users by personally responding to my list of suggestions! Everything you really need to studyIt's all you could ever really ask from something like it. It does everything you'd conceivably need and it does it well. Need a straightforward note taking app? Knowt's got that covered. Need flashcards? Knowt's got you covered. Looking for study material for your classes? Knowt's got that in spades. I could list more and more but I think you get my point. Saved me during AP season!After Quizlet began limiting study/learning availability, I found Knowt as an alternative through Instagram…and I’m SO glad I did. I recently got through my AP World and Precalculus exams and I could not have done it without the timelines and practice that Knowt provided. Keeping in mind and understanding that Knowt is run mostly by students, I do have one minor concern that I think could be improved on in the future: the math questions often look a bit buggy and the equations (especially when exponents are involved) often look awkward and are more difficult to solve because of their uncertainty/lack of clarity in symbols. LifesaverOkay honestly this isn’t a review about the app but the website bc I use that way more, I prefer to study on my computer for many reasons(it’s also annoying studying for Spanish on phone bc of autocorrect but that’s not the app’s fault). PLEASE READ!This app is seriously amazing. Not only are you supporting smaller businesses, but you’re literally getting a better app. They listen to your input and care about what you have to say. Great App OverallI’ve been using Knowt for over a year now since switching over from another SIMILAR app that decided to prioritize profit over helping students. I love how Knowt is dedicated to making sure the features that students rely on to learn aren’t locked behind paywalls. I also love how Knowt doesn’t have a really distracting look when studying/using the learn mode. As someone who really struggles with focus, one of my biggest issues with the other app is that when I was studying the learning page was so distracting due to the ads that it deterred me from using it all together, and I couldn’t study as effectively. A must have for schoolI will proudly say that this is so much better then quizlet by a whole lot. Mostly being the fact that it has all the features as quizlet except that they’re all free and the app is so far a lot more functional. There are no ads littered everywhere and you can easily import from quizlet too. It also doesn’t use as many resources unlike quizlet. The only downside being that the learn feature isn’t 1:1 with quizlet because although it’s still pretty good sometimes there are multiple choice questions which 2 or 3 of the choices are all the same answer and it’s definitely a little less cohesive but other then that it is a really great app..IndigizVersion: 1.0.1

AP LIFESAVERI’ve been a Knowt devotee for a while (found them my sophomore year and I’m going to be a senior) and I absolutely love them!! I started off on their website for flash cards after Quizlet paywalled all their stuff and it’s SO much better. I use Knowt for all of my classes. This AP season, I saw that they had AP questions and practice, which was insanely helpful. I used their APUSH practice religiously but I also used some Calc as well. Tried Spanish too. I ended up getting 5s on AP Spanish Lang, APUSH, and AP Comp and a 4 on AP Calc AB. Must use study appThis app really has helped me so much with my ap class I took this year. I started studying for AP world with only a week to prepare and so I thought I was cooked but when I took the test I remembered what I had studied. I honestly don’t know if I would have done as good without it. I love the multiple choice practice area and the free-response practice. Also overall, the study materials on there are really help! In my opinion this is like quizlet just slightly better because it doesn’t pester me about upgrading to a premium subscription. Great Free Alternative to QuizletAfter Quizlet put many study sets behind a paywall, I searched for a new study site. I found this app thanks to an Instagram reel & it has been the most beneficial study site for my grades. I was able to study for AP World History, IB Spanish, and AP Comp Sci thanks to this site. Almost thereI love love love this app, mostly because i can access my notes on my laptop and iPad. However. Big however. I use my Apple Pencil to write my notes on my iPad while on the go, and the functionality of writing with my pencil on this app is severely flawed. I know its not because of my iPad or pencil, because I don't have any problems anytime else. When I write, the words will jump a few lines down from where I am writing. The bold, underline, and italic buttons don't work either. They will either never be highlighted when selected or will always be highlighted. Quizlet’s cheaper, younger, hotter, cooler sister!!I love Knowt! You do have to pay for the AI features after a little while, but the free version is much better than Quizlet. The flash cards and quizzes really helped me study for my AP Tests! There are a few bugs I’d like to point out though. Firstly, when I was studying for ap chem and clicked a unit for the quiz to be focused on, it was still on all of the units. Secondly, the learn setting for ap lang was directly taken from the notes so some questions didn’t make sense or were irrelevant. AmazingI’m a sophmore in highschool and I’ve been using Knowt for around two years now after quizlet made there learn feature paid. The flashcards and learn features work amazing and it’s so easy to transfer sets from quizlet over. This year I used the AP World note documents and practice questions to prepare for my AP and Regents exam and they were beyond helpful and covered almost all of the information. Using mainly Knowt, I scored a 5 on the AP and 100 on my regents and I don’t know if I could have done it without their amazing resources. Amazing alternative to other studying appsI’ve been reviewing content for the MCAT and searching for a good app to make flashcards. Almost everything I found either had important features, like adding images, behind a paywall or lacked a user-friendly design (*cough* ANKI). Then, I stumbled upon Knowt, which was exactly what I was looking for! I mainly use the spaced repetition feature to study, and it has been great so far. I suggested to the developers to add a notification/reminder for the spaced repetition, and they responded within minutes, saying they planned to include it! Better Than QuizletI haven’t used this app well enough to give it a proper review but I will say that it works better than Quizlet because it is guided towards those who need to take AP exams. As an AP biology student (who has her own flaws at learning but likes using Quizlet) it’s refreshing to see that the developers with some helpers are helping others to pass their exams. AMAZING STUDY RESOURCEUsing Knowt's study resources is probably the biggest reason why I got 4's on my AP exams for world history and computer science principles this year. Their study guides are organized by units set by College Board, are completely factually accurate, and have features available to help learn the material that you need. My favorite study appI used to use quizlet to study but with the rise of ai they have been making the app/website more paid so i switched to knowt. Im not sure what it is but ive been doing so much better in classes since then and ive been able to memorize things super quickly. Very good app but small problemsI really like this app it is a great Quizlet alternative, I used it for all my midterms and I got great grades. My only problem is that they dont let you use the voice to text feature, it is put behind a pay wall that only schools can buy. Good, but BuggyI’ve been using this app/website for 3 years now instead of quizlet, and originally loved it. It gave me more options for studying and customizing my flashcards, but for the past few months it has been suddenly rigged with bugs. Every time I open the app on my phone/computer, it demands an update. On the website, my flashcards will either show up empty, or take 5 minutes for 1 small flashcard to fully type up because of the lagging through the website. Finally!After years of using quizlet, its only become more and more restrictive, looked all over for an alternative and found Knowt. What a lifesaver! Wish I found this soonerI was about to go through buying quizlets full-version when I found this app. Being able to do all the same things for free is fantastic. My only wish is for the sorting of flash cards feature where you can tell the app if you got the definition correct or not leading to it taking out the correct terms from the pile for the next round. Really good appI really enjoy the app and it is almost exactly a copy of Quizlet but free. It’s perfect for studying. The only recommendation that I have for this app is in the flash card mode you cannot sort the ones you got right vs wrong like you can in Quizlet. Also in flash card mode it seems like the shuffle only has a few different combinations. It will shuffle once or twice but then go back to the first order it shuffled as. Knowt is a godsend.I had 4 AP tests this year and honestly the word I felt most was unprepared. I felt like that at some point in all my classes, I knew all the content for the year, but I just needed a way to regain all that knowledge before the test. Knowt helped me do that in under 2-3 hours for each class. They have a bunch of resources, but not enough to overwhelm you to the point where you don’t know what to start. One of my favorite study appsThe flash cards work great. They have very similar features to Quizlet, and I find that it teaches me the content on the cards very well. The ads are minimal, and don’t pop up randomly on top of your screen. At the end of a set, you will be prompted to watch and add to earn coins. In my experience, you can click no and keep learning, though I do watch the ads to support the company. I Love ItMy favorite part about this app is the practice multiple choice tests. Not only are you able to customize the tests to include specific units and material, but you’re also able to see why an answer is correct or incorrect. Knowt is amazing and the most effective app to study!I’ve been using Knowt for about a year after leaving Quizlet and it was by far the best upgrade. Useful study tool!I'm loving this app so far! It's been helping me save a lot more time from having to search for other countless study resources for my AP. Notes are well-organized, and the practice problems are mostly useful! However, I'm a tad disappointed that the "Explain Why My Answer is Wrong/Right" feature isn't free. Game changer for AP studyingI am taking numerous AP classes this year including traditionally more challenging courses like AP Calc BC and AP Biology. SO HELPFUL!!Last year I took AP human geography, I understood the class very well and scored good scores on tests (they were not ap styled). I started to panic because I didn’t grasp how to answer AP questions and also I had no idea how to do FRQ’s, we only had one practice frq the whole year. Good app, has some bugsThis is a great free alternative to Quizlet. There’s just a couple things that bother me: 1. Sometimes the ads are so big that it blocks my flash cards and I can’t see them 2. When you choose the flash card mode, it will not let you do card sorting and writing review at the same time. You can do one or the other, but when you have both options on it will not let you move to the next card Other than that, great app! Buggy but usefulThis is better than quizlet. But it has a ton of annoying bugs and its annoying to organize. Better than quizlet, but…When I first started college this app was a god send. Literally saved me through my 2 years. I still use it daily as I prepare for my national exams. Some crucial errors, I still prefer QuizletWhile I like that I can add photos and change the text for free, I don't know why I am unable to sort the cards (maybe I'm missing something but this sorting feature is why I use flashcards in the first place...). As for compatibility across devices I've been very dissapointed. On my mac, the app often has bugs. Half the screen will be stuck on the loading screen and then it's nearly impossible to even use the bold/italic features because it ALWAYS GLITCHES so that your mouse is never where you click it to be. It always appears on the end of the sentence and it won't allow you to highlight just one word for example. Not to mention when I open the same deck of flashcards on my phone, some of the text randomly turns dark, making it impossible to read, even though some of it remains white. Also, when I've edited my flashcards on my phone, the edits don't appear on my mac. I wish I can get my money backThis app advertises their app as more affordable than Quizlet, but let me tell you something: this app is 100% more expensive than Quizlet, because first you have to pay to remove ads, and that's it.
