Finally my son wants to learn note names!Gone are the groans when I ask my 6yo to practice note names! He loves this game and is improving his note recognition. Works great on all my iOS devices, except I can’t get it to close on my iPhone X. It doesn’t respond to swiping up from anywhere on the screen. I end up having to reboot the phone. Is there something I’m missing or is this something that needs to be fixed in the next version?.Version: 1.87.0

Amazing Staff Game 🎼This is such a great game. My band teacher suggested this game to us, so I went home and got it. It’s great for practicing reading music, as I am just starting to read and play music on my clarinet. It’s fun, has good music, challenging but not overly challenging, and simple. I’ve already been reading music for years, as I started piano pretty young, but this is great also for piano music—it helps me sightread even complex songs better and generally improves my playing on both piano and clarinet—making me faster and more accurate. My band teacher hands out prizes for making it past levels 10 and 15, which I’m getting close to. If you are just starting to read music, or if you would just like a little practice with it, this game is for you. You’ll be hooked—and even if you’re not, you’ll at least be a better musician. My only suggestion is: it would be fun if the music that plays in the background could change from the same 8 notes or so. Having different songs would make it even more fun. This is a great game. Good job, developers 😊 The $1.29 for this game is worth it..Version: 1.92.0

Indispensable for experienced musicians who never learned to readI downloaded this after a teacher at a conservatory recommended it to our class piano class and I have it to thank for jumpstarting my sight reading ability. It’s not a replacement for reading and playing actual music, but made it so I could practice anywhere at the drop of a hat, and really helped get me up to speed. If I could make one suggestion to the developers, include playback of the actual pitches as you input your answers, that will help students develop their relative pitch, and will make it all around a more musical experience..Version: 1.87.0

Wonderful teaching tool!I love this game! I have all my students buy it to help with their note reading. I especially love that tenor clef was recently added. The only thing it’s missing now is a setting to combine some or all of the clefs in one game to practice switching between them in real time (like for advanced cellists who have to read bass, tenor and treble clef fluidly; or violists who frequently switch between alto and treble clef). Maybe make this upgrade at some point in the future? I would even pay a higher price for a “Pro” version that has this feature. In any case, thanks to the developers for the awesome app!.Version: 1.82.0

This game is absolutely incredible!I love this game! I’m getting so much better at Alto Clef and Treble Clef! My friend recommended this app for me for Treble Clef, but then I learned to play the viola and started learning Alto Clef. When I started off, I didn’t know anything at all. But now I am much better at it, and I can say read quickly and easily! My teacher was amazed! Before, the app would occasionally double click, but now it works much better! This app is amazing, and my teacher is recommending it to her other students now. Thanks!.Version: 1.92.0

Pretty fun but could be improvedThis is a great game to play when you don’t have an instrument and staff paper. My biggest gripe is that they don’t divide the notes into two sections so that your thumbs can easily tap the notes. Developers, study the Kinesis blue keyboard and fix this!.Version: 1.92.0

A great app, great supportI just purchased this last week. My students love it! I’ve used other note reading apps too, but this has rave reviews PLUS my students who use it in band and orchestra at school have mentioned how much they love beating top scores. Craig also gives prompt and helpful support as the developer. I’m definitely recommending to other teachers..Version: 1.90.0

GoodIt is actually a really fun game. I bought it for distance learning and it is definitely worth it. You can change the range of the notes to your skill and every time you level up mid game it adds something to the music and speeds up..Version: 1.87.0

Effective note learning tool. This is a very effective note learning tool for many students—they are drawn in by the increasing pace/intensity. As a teacher I love that I can choose a range of notes to practice, such as treble clef space notes only, an appropriate hurdle for beginners..Version: 1.91.0

Needs a couple thingsI like the app, long time alto and soprano sax player, I only learned the treble clef. Now taking up cello and tenor sax. This old brain is having a time not thinking of the treble clef notes when reading the bass clef. I’d like to see a mode where the note names appear in the note head, a level zero where it stays on slow mode, a zap sound when you get it wrong, and an option for a piano keyboard in place of the letter buttons. Already a good learning aid, I think these would make it even better..Version: 1.92.0

Practicing alto clefFun and helpful for a violinist who dabbles with occasional viola parts. I wish notes on ledger lines came while it is still slow so I could get used to what they look like..Version: 1.82.0

Great App!Love this app! Use it all the time with my students. They enjoy competing against each other for the high score. The developer is great as well and is very responsive to feedback..Version: 1.80.0

STAFF WARSI really like this game. I play it at school so I needed to practice.I got 39 points on bass then, I practiced on my iPad to get better. And so far, I got 65 points!Thank you so much for making this game on iPads!.Version: 1.87.0

Great gameThis is a great game and I play it in music class all the time🎼🎵📰🎹🎻🎺🎷🎸🎤🎧.Version: 1.4

Great! This is amazing. Any bad reviews don’t make sense. This game is great. My piano teacher recommends this and it’s fun. No ads all education for the piano. This is ligit..Version: 1.82.0

From a piano teacher.Such a great tool to help motivate kids to learn how to read music..Version: 1.81.2

Five StarsThanks for the new update! I absolutely love this app! It’s my favorite music app I’ve ever found!.Version: 1.82.0

Not enough ledger linesI use this with my suzuki guitar students but we need ledger lines down to a low E under the treble clef staff. It’s a bummer not to have the full low range to train with. Please help!.Version: 1.87.0

Very good gameThis was very helpful in completing my journey to read bass clef after knowing treble for about five years..Version: 1.87.0

Absolutly love Thief appIts an amazing app to learn how to read music notes.Version: 1.87.0

YAAAAASI remember playing this on my teachers’ SmartBoard in ELEMENTARY SCHOOL!! I’m a high school SENIOR now! My record is 115 so lets see if I can beat it..Version: 1.82.0

WowAmazing app my piano teacher approves..Version: 1.87.0

I like it but..It really good but it makes me Rage🤬😡🤬😰😰😰😰😤😤😤😤😌.Version: 1.92.0

Great idea for kids!Playing this game immediately captured the attention of my eight year old son who much prefers playing the piano by ear. I really like that you can adjust the range of notes on the staff - he's not quite ready for the extreme ledger lines and really needs to drill the more common notes first. So grateful to find a music note game with a shooting theme for a boy who'd rather be playing Plants Vs Zombies! I hope he stays interested in this for awhile to aid his sight reading. One suggestion: another option for the player to select the notes through one octave of piano keys (rather than the alphabetical buttons) would be awesome, further helping to link a written note to a piano key shape. But don't get me wrong, this is quite useful as it is. Thanks so much!.Version: 1.5

Music Teacher Approved! As a Music Teacher/HS Orchestra Director for 31 years(now retired) I was assigned to teach elementary classroom music K to 3rd grade my last 2 years. This app is an excellent help to secure the learning process in a fun and creative manner. I used the pc version at school and displayed the app onto a SMART-board. My 2nd students were completely ready for 3rd grade recorder instruction and assisted the 3rd grade students who needed more help in reading notation faster. I also would use at the high school for violists and students needing help in music theory. Students became self motivated!.Version: 1.5

AddictingI just discovered this app and it's great. It rely helped me to learn the alto clef, and it is so much fun to play with students. They can play each other and compete for the highest score. It's just as fun as the mindless games that everyone's playing, but they're learning something important. I only wish the treble clef could way up high for violin players..Version: 1.4

Students LOVE this! This is the only note reading game I have found that students have asked to stay in from recess to play. I don't know if it is because it's "Star Wars" themed, or because it is just that much fun... But even my least interested kid in my music classes participates and dominates at this game! A must have!!.Version: 1.3

Helpful and entertainingI'm in an orchestra at school, and I play the viola. The problem was that I couldn't read the alto clef. I bought this app and played it a couple of times, and by the next week, I could play the music! It's a really fun way to practice your sight reading skills. GET THE APP!!😉 You'll love it!😍😘.Version: 1.5

Not what I thought it wasMy music teacher showed us this on his computer. He demonstrated it on his clarinet. A note would appear on the screen and he would play it and win. I downloaded it on my iPhone and (it was 99 cents by the way) and it only lets you tap the notes not play them. It wasn't what I thought it was..Version: 1.5

Good app, but not what I was expecting.Today, my band teacher showed us the app, and demonstrated how it hones your note accuracy. He used his clarinet with it, and played the notes it showed. The problem is, I can't do that. All it allows me to do is click the notes, but I was expecting to be able to play the notes with my saxophone..Version: 1.5

Student favoriteMy students all love this game, even the ones who claim to not read any music. They all ask to play this whenever there's an opportunity. I must have for classroom music teachers..Version: 1.3

Very funI'm a student who recently purchased this for music class. It is very informational and has helped me learned my lines and spaces in under an hour. I highly recommend it if you are interested in a musical career..Version: 1.6

Excellent App!This app works well, no glitches that I've noticed. I used this in my 5th and 6th grade classes and streamed it to our projector through an a Apple TV and the students LOVED it. Great game and learning tool to keep them on their toes!.Version: 1.1

Needs actual keyboardThis is a fantastic app, BUT why isn't there an option for an image of an actual keyboard instead of just the letter names? Hell, you could have a fretboard option. This app has great potential as a handy teaching tool for young students..Version: 1.4

My piano students are learning faster than everGreat app. Must have for any music student learning to read..Version: 1.5

Great gameIt's a great game and can help a lot for my orchestra class. Also the new update with game center makes it addictive trying to be the best.😜.Version: 1.5

Great appI've used this with a whole class of 5th graders and they were mesmerized by it. Boys were anxious to play it. Awesome app, thanks!.Version: 1.6

Love it!!I love this game it is a opportunity to practice your notes..Version: 1.3

AwesomeI am a music teacher, students love it.Version: 1.6

AwesomeMy music teacher said to get it! It's awesome.Version: 1.1

This is AMAZING!!!!!Staff Wars is an amazing clef learning strategy. I highly recommend it!!!!.Version: 1.4

The best! This is the most fun note naming game I know!.Version: 1.70.0

Awesome, fun and addictive.I love this game. They need to add tenor clef (it has treble, alto and bass)..Version: 1.65

Good game, but please add microphone feature! This is a good game for learning names of notes... But I much prefer the PC version of the same game where you need to actually PLAY the correct note on your instrument to blast the note away. Also, on the PC version, you can choose which instrument you're playing so the transpositions are correct. Could you please add this feature to the iOS version of the game? That would make this game FANTASTIC!.Version: 1.5
