Solar System on the iphoneI have used this app for six to seven years and two different iphone generations. It is a clock, orrery, teacher, astro app of the highest caliber. It is light weight and does not take a lot of memory, the A-R mode is handy to help confirm objects in the sky. There is no explanation of what is displayed, just factual data. Other apps can explain what one is looking at but that comes at a high price but if you have a basic knowledge of the sky than this is just awesome to behold. The ability to look in from space at your location and then switch the view so you are looking out from your location is just not found on other apps. Might be the coolest App ever madeI love this App so much!!! Hard to find the right words for why, but using it is quite meditative. I think it’s one of the best ways our knowledge and technology have been utilized in recent history. Of course nothing beats looking at the actual stars and planets if you have the opportunity, but this App gives such beautiful perspective and the amazing potential to reawaken interconnection. I don’t think most people contemplate the measurement of time and our place in the universe because there are so many distractions in modern life—but this gives me hope that staring down into a phone can actually enrich the way I look out and up into the rest of the world. Great ProductI just started using the app. What would be nice is a manual that one could print instead of using the Share icon and selecting PRINT while viewing the instructions. Printing with Share messes up some of the pages due to the black filled headings. Maybe a night light capability if used in bedroom so it’s not so bright. Much easier to learn aspects if there was a formal manual. After going to cosmic-watch website on my laptop, I found the manual for printing as well as a quick start guide and tutorials. Astrology EssentialI been using this app for months now, almost on a daily basis. What could make it a little more efficient would be to add notifications for direct and retrograde motions. Other wise it’s been an essential to my study. Perhaps an update on the geocentric and topocentric toggle, when switching to geocentric then clicking realtime the sky gradient reappears and topocentric triggers. Really neatThis is a very nice, interesting and creative app! Just love having it open and let it run. Beautiful and UsefulI always smile when I open this app. It not only gives you the day and date but also locates you on the Earth’s surface. There are a wide variety of options. Different data rings including the full year can be added. If you wish, try setting the app to any significant date and see the positions of the planets. Amazing toolThis app has a lot of features that are useful for stargazing and educating oneself about the celestial sphere and everything that goes along with it. I love the time forward/back feature. It’s useful for tracking and the planets, seeing where you are relative to the ecliptic, and a host of other stuff I haven’t quite figured out. Overdue for update to handle arbitrary iOS/iPadOS device screen sizeI like this app - the graphics are nice and the alerts are interesting … but that the app has to be opened every so often to refresh them is slightly annoying. However, there’s a big minus in my opinion: this app needs to be updated to handle arbitrary sized iOS/iPadOS displays and external displays for those iPads which support them. The application is brilliantly executed by very talented engineers, and I’ve compared the Orrery functions appear spot on when compared with my astronomy mapping software. WONDEFUL App!I am thoroughly enjoying this Cosmic Watch App. Loven all that it has to offer. The only thing missing is the “Equation of Time” option aka Analemma; the Sun Graph. The Infinity Symbol of the Analemma upon the “Crossbar of Time and Space” reveals the Suns gradual path from the Tropic of Cancer and the Tropic of Capricorn. I am learning the Equatorial coordinate systems.I find this amazing mobile app, "Cosmic Watch" that show in 3D, exactly what we see in the sky when we use the Equatorial coordinate system. The closest place it could find was hundreds of miles from me. The help feature is pretty much useless. It only tags the buttons with names but doesn't tell you what they do. Confusing AppI purchased this app and I find it very difficult to properly use. I like the concept. Better user testing before releases might have exposed some of what I write here. The tutorials are not in sync with the new 2.0.2 version on my iPad. The music is a feature that needs an off option. The website help for version 2.0.2 is not helpful. Consider a single tutorial per feature and verify what icons relate to what the screen displays. I prefer instructions be written and not spoken. Currently, I feel I wasted my money. Good but....This is a great app but it needs some work on the touch interface. I know there are apps out there that have a more responsive and smoother feel to the panning and zooming. The notification bar is also annoying and in the way. Also my location seems to randomly change. Glad you guys don't make apps for drones.
