If you’re looking for an alternative option to find your true fans and monetize your writing skills at the same time, the Substack app is a great app to start. It provides writers the opportunity to showcase their creative writing talents and stories without complicating things. It’s simple to install and use. Definitely a writer must-have! ❤️

This is a terrific platform whether you’re a curious reader or you want to start your own blog and moneitze it in the long run.

It’s an app to read the articles on the website. It works well, but should get the functionality of managing subscriptions in the app. Also, I’d really like a darkmode, or even some more options like sepia etc.

I would love a paginated mode, where you swipe through pages from left to right, like a book. Also Full justification for the main text. Collapsable comments.

I just hope substack continues to serve without the shameful media censorship we see across all other platform.

The pure idea of Substack is amazing. Just the customizing to chose another subscription model is loading sometimes endles for me :/

Wollte ein Abo bei einem Autor kündigen. Das geht nur über deren Website. Im Browser wurde angezeigt, dass das Abo gekündigt wurde. Jetzt, einen knappen Monat später hat Substack wieder Geld bei mir abgebucht. Habe dann gesehen, dass das Abo immer noch besteht. Habe es wieder gekündigt und es bestand danach immer noch. Habe einen zweiten Weg gefunden es zu kündigen. Im Browser steht nun, dass gekündigt wurde. Im iOS App hingegen steht immer noch, dass das Abo besteht. Es gibt keine richtigen Support. Werde das über die Bank blockieren müssen.

There is no way on the substack website, app, or any contact email to report bugs. That’s certainly a confident move. In any case, I’m reporting here in hope it can get through. I have lost the majority of my subscriptions. One day they just weren’t there, save for my three paid for subs and one free sub. I used to have roughly half a dozen unpaid subs, among them some of my favourite writers. They are all gone, and I need to search through and resubscribe. Further, my feed has stopped updating. There are new posts from what subs have remained, I can see them directly on their respective substacks, but they do not show on my feed. My feed completely died for the last several days and it took me to actively search around to discover this. Aside from these issues, please - make some means of reporting bugs available! You surely can’t rely solely on a user faq and instrumentation to take care of possible issues that may (read: will) arise.

What happened to being able to edit your theme? I understand it is reader focused but then its not much that seperates this platform from Medium for example, I’d also like to see some updated in how discoverable content similar to mine is accessible through the platforms algorithm.

I love the new notes feature, unfortunately the app keeps crashing at the moment. Hope it’ll be sorted soon. A couple of weeks later : still crashing. I desperately want to give the app 5 stars but they make it a bit difficult.

Currently it’s impossible for me to use the notes feature because the app keeps crashing whenever I scroll around on notes. Happens on latest app version (1.2.15) on iOS 16.3.1. Apart from that there is obvious way to report bugs inside the app or on their website.

Works unless you got a problem with payment or subscriptions and would need someone to talk to. Support is only run by an AI that doesn’t understand but the simplest of questions. No other contact is possible or that you would get a response from the Substack service company.

Would love to be able to easy switch between accounts.

Reading is good, but anything payment related is very painful and typically needs to be done via the website

Then phone verification is required but broken, not worth it

And I can‘t find how to unfollow again. So annoying.

Concept is great but the app is not working at all. Cannot read a single article before it breaks down.

This app should be removed ASAP, since it offers no way of anynomous usage.

The new inbox is really disorienting and there’s no option to make it chronological in any way. Also, I shouldn’t have to leave a terrible review just to report something. The new inbox and home page design are really bugging me and taking away from my enjoyment of newsletters!
