Voice is repellant.In a world of podcasts, you think you can get people to listen with that live? Cmon, you can do better than that. I literally had to stop the voice and just read. Very disappointing. Overall, I rate a 3, as the rest of the app is ok. Would like the option of setting up notifications for daily devotions. But all in all, I think the app is good and will continue using it. I hope you can improve on the narrator, possibly give the option of audio speed. That would be great. Wrong VoiceI was so excited to purchase this app until I heard the first devotion. The person reading the devotion is NOT the right voice for voiceover work. Hire Larry Conners, or at least a professional announcer. Sorry, but this poor man is boring and needs to step away from the mic. PofPI was introduced to this publication when it was a quarterly booklet avai9lable from Lutheran Churches. Sincve then I progressed to the quarterly onoine subscription, and now an annual subscription. I'm not a Lutheran but read the daily devotionals and morning & evening prayers. I've marked so many messages "Favourites" they could make a book in themselves. They keep me grounded in the Word, and are a great source of comfort in any situation. PTL!.ThislteVersion: 2.1.3

GinokoI absolutely love this app. I read paper versions I received from church, tore out my favorites from those smaller books and piled them up. Nice to have the app with archives. I found my paper copies, the devotion on the app, then marked favorite and threw the paper version away. I like having a reader. Happy this exists - suggesting some editsI am thrilled that Portals of Prayer is now available as an app. I know some are disappointed by the subscription feature. But this is coming from a small publishing house and provides new content every single day from a variety of writers. This is one of the challenges of balancing digital and analog methods, and I don't begrudge them charging the subscription (just as they would for the print version). Many newspapers still operate this way. On to my suggestions for the publisher: I would like to see this app have some of the same features as the PrayNow app, like choices of fonts, calendar pop-up wheel, and especially night mode (causes less eye strain). Devotions only. App quits when other choices are selectedWhen I opened the old app, there was a prompt to upgrade to new app. So I did. I have iPad 6th generation 13.4. App worked well on first day but on the next day, only the devotions could be viewed. It quits when I selected prayers, favorites, or view by seasons. I didn’t upgrade the old app on my phone, it’s the only portable device that works. I’ve been exchanging emails with a tech from Concordia Technology Solutions but haven’t heard from her since Apr 7. I did everything she told me to do but nothing worked. Maybe a bug?.AnoPa?Version: 2.0.1

Bearing false witness or I’m just dumb.My opinion is that the app developers are not savvy in technology or communication. BEWARE WITH FAMILY SHARING. APP IS SHARED—DEVOTIONAL is NOT shareable. Each user has to have a different subscription on their device for the written contact. I also cannot have the app on my phone and also open in my iPad. Even having an individual subscription is a hassle. They charged my account for renewal, but does not show as renewed. Let downI was very excited to see that CPH had published an app for Portals of Prayer. Upon downloading the app, I became disappointed that purchasing the app does not mean you have access to the devotions. Upon opening the app, there is a prompt to login but that process is not available when purchasing the app. Long story short, I paid for the Portals of Prayer app and now have to pay for a subscription separately. Is not reliableI never know when I open the App if I will see the current day’s devotion or a blank screen. Most of the time I can “find” the devotion but sometimes I cannot. The same is true for the daily prayers.
