Have you ever wanted to draw with words? Weird Type is an AR app that lets you paint with text in space!
You can type your own phrases and pick from multiple modes and see your text in completely new ways. You can record videos of your messages and share them or save them to you camera roll.
It's based on a series of AR experiments that the authors Zach Lieberman and Molmol Kuo have been posting to Instagram over the last few months. People kept asking, "is that an app?" Now, together with our collaborator Design Indaba, which helped produce this, we're packaging some of these experiments into app and we hope you enjoy them!
The app is designed by Richard The, with iOS help from Ying Quan Tan, Robby Kraft, and Peter Sibley
Note the app now supports multi-lingual input.

Great creative tool in ARFun, simple, and brilliant!! I've never liked any other AR apps before, but this app got me. I particulary enjoy using the 'photo' feature indoor (when I'm in a small space) and 'ribbon' and 'explode' in outdoor spaces (when I can move around a lot). This is a great creative tool in AR--it has been exciting for me to watch on instagram what people make with this app. One of the best things about this app is that it makes me move my body while using a smart phone. I've played with the app for half an hour in my room last night and I became sweaty, which makes me feel so good because I'm lack of exercise these days. I see a huge possibility in this app and can't wait for more features. Having limited time editions of features for events/seasons would be fun. It would be also nice to be able to change the font size and color :).Version: 1.1

Great in theory. Videos are mirrored in instagramI love playing with this app, but the videos always seem to be upside down and mirrored when I try to post them to instagram. Flopping them in ios does not fix the issue..Version: 1.6

It’s gonna be good!I am a big fan of Zach Lieberman’s work, and this app shows a lot of promise; however its super buggy right now. I am not worried about this however because I am confident that in a week or two it will have an update that will take care of near all of it. Once that happens I’ll be back to update my review. A beautiful way to pass the timeIt's simple but well worth the price to paint with words whenever I'm feeling a little bored or want a different way to overlay text on my surroundings (Snapchat-esque pinning is okay, but this is more expressive, and fun to boot!).Version: 1.2
