Profound Beyond Measures!Good Morning, I have never in all the time of me owning smartphones and downloading apps never just left let alone felt like leaving a review just wasn’t my style, but this app ngl at first I had very low expectations since it was just another annoying app sitting in my face as ads on social media sites and one I decided after the millionth ad to download didn’t understand the concept at first but after I finished my first book within my 7 day trial honestly that’s literally my only criticism is forcing the 7 day trial right after downloading the app and signing up allow ppl to see how dope this app is themselves with the 10-30 second Paladin ads on repeat lol and offer the paid version then, but being on my 10th book I can honestly say being someone that was failed on a lot of fronts since adolescence I’ve learned how to conquer and champion that experience while also recognizing my responsibility being the things within my control. This is the most present I’ve been in my entire life. I could have never fathomed reading entire books in 4-5 min. Blocks would exponentially improve my overall well being gaining the ability to face hard truths about my self and unlearn counterproductive habits and subsequently replace them with more favorable ones. LOVE THIS APP SO MUCH!!Highly recommend this app to anyone! Especially anyone with some ADHD or anyone Highly Sensitive or anyone annoyed with all the small print in everything ;-) they customize articles, quotes and structure for things you may need to improve - e.g. procrastination habits, staying focused, staying motivated, etc. I love the large print because it makes one more likely to read it w/out having to go grab the glasses. The format is also really unique and unlike any of the other apps that I’ve seen on the market. You can tell that a lot of research went into this and that they are using science of brain functioning to best serve us here. Thank you to Deepstash! One recommendation as someone with Irlen Syndrome (light sensitivity that affects reading and is treated with using color overlays), I’d love to see some light colors/pastels (peach, light pink, lavender, light blue or green) applied to the app and an emoji feature for journaling feelings. Resources can be a bit limited but still quite funI do like this app; however, the resources are limited. There is a lot of book, but the books I am interested in is all quite surface level and bland. For example there’s was one I found on star-wars which I thought would be a lot of fun. To my disappointment, it was just a bunch of quotes with a very AI surface level explanation. It would say oh this quote shows the complexity of our social structure and that would be it. It does catch my attention with its macro learning but I can’t take the next step and learn more about the topic through the app. It’s like watching one of those real or fake TikTok video that doesn’t have a part 2. I hope they can add a feature where u can read deeper. Like maybe showing where the quotes original source was from so I can read the whole passage. Best App EverFor future users: The app is amazing, if you have a “scrolling problem” use it on this app where your scrolling adds value to your life, rather then scrolling on social media which takes away from you emotionally and mentally. One thing I would ask is that you maybe give new users advice on posting, sometimes I come across a good stash of ideas but the tone is commanding or negative for example using words like “you must do ”, “you will never, unless” “you can’t, unless” most of these are found on personal development stashes. Where I find that, stashes that are factual without telling me what do do are easier to read. Keepin it real for my bros out thereNgl, this app is on point, I would recommend anyone that likes reading from a random set of topics on a daily base to try this out. It’s not per sey very deep but of course it’s stated that it’s meant to skip fluff and give the highlights. That’s good and bad, reading just facts or short summaries about a book or idea doesn’t necessarily promote learning, then again this app is for discussing ideas. Regardless, I love it! It gives me amazing recommendations on books, tips, and ideas that I can look into my own time. The amount of books i’ve purchased to grow my library is absurd thanks to this app. I only have 1 suggestion, where you can create stashes of ideas like playlists, need more customization! It helped me learn and dissociate from social media.The app was a great way to replace social media with something worth my time. I ended up being showered with great pieces of literature that had topics that would better me physically and emotionally. The pricingIf you want to learn and not get distracted from videos on tiktok or Instagram then this is the right app, the only thing that makes this app sucky to use is the fact I have to pay 70 dollars a year to save quotes that I will say I can forget sometimes, and having to pay so much money at once for an app that ultimately I can just go on a website and read quotes it’s kinda ridiculous. Considering the name, deep stash should immediately follow a threadline of depth and immersion in thematic areas of interest. The only other gripe I have is the choice of wording claiming that human memory is "obsolete." That statement actually undermines the impetus for using this app. If we don't need memory then why learn anything? Why use an app that helps human memory improve in order to pursue the acquisition of knowledge if human memory is obsolete?!! Not Exactly For WomenThis app, is definitely cool, great idea. But either there aren’t many women who post on here, or this so does not have any feminine sections. There is a “Beauty and Fashion” section— but if it was intentionally attempting to target a female audience, they wouldn’t have put gag together. Most of the profiles are of men, rarely of women. And even the Beauty section is extremely short. I’m not saying all women like beauty- but on TikTok and Instagram I go to learn about wellness and natural products for skin care and health. And it’s very clear that they won’t have that here. Aswell as Men and Women are simply different. And I wouldn’t be able to learn a lot about myself even in the workout section, bc we aren’t the same. I’ll stick to Instagram for now- so I can find people I can relate to and learn there. Same old, same oldI’m always trying to find something more useful to do with spare moments of scrolling my phone. A bunch of apps have popped up claiming to solve that problem but they are all literally the same and all, in my opinion, a waste of time. Great App Idea but prices are ridiculousI LOVE this idea for an app to replace social media and promote learning about different topics. Unfortunately, every minute there seems to be an ad to buy the Pro version. It only allows you to save up to 10 posts/ articles before requiring a subscription to save more articles. The price of a subscription is $50/year or $20/ 3months or $11/month. These aren’t awful subscription prices but if you truly want to make this app popular and be a real replacement to social media, then it should really be free. But of course I understand that you have to make your money somehow. But if you want it to truly be an alternative to social media, charging prices will do the opposite of attracting more users. Love the learning material, don’t like the panderingI love the app and the availability of learning material, but when I started using it I noticed a few things. First, some of what I’ve read seems to reflect speech/writing patterns associated with AI. I’m not saying it’s AI-generated, and I know it’s possible that the people creating content on the platform are probably coming from communities that get scraped a lot for LLM training data. Also, when taking the little quizzes that it gives me at the end of some lessons, I realized that both answers are correct. I don’t know if this is a general issue or if it just depends on who makes the content, as I barely know how the platform works, but if it is a general issue, I find it a little annoying and patronizing, and don’t mind being wrong a little. Free Trial experienceI tried out deepstash pro for a week or so, and I was able to quickly go through information whenever I had that little reading itch compelling me to do so. It was perfect! I could read one or two blinks on days I was up to my neck in work and still find something meaningful. I was glad to try this out as many apps like this refuse to let you read without the pro-version, but regardless of having a pro-subscription, the user is still able to access basically the whole app (except the connection portion as well as a swath of popular books). Perfect App for Learning During Morning RoutineI just finished my 353rd day in a row reading Deepstash summaries. It is the perfect app for learning as part of my morning routine. I love the bite-sized chunk approach, and the wide range of topics. Some days I read 50 (or more) pages and some days I struggle to do 5. The app works nicely either way. Amazing app but cash grabI’ve been using this app for a few weeks and I really love most of its capabilities. I enjoy reading notes or takeaways of others regarding books, videos, even podcasts. The ability to create your own notes or “ideas” is enjoyable and very easy to use. Great for “productivity geeks”!“Productivity geeks” meaning those who know the value of time. Those who do things efficiently for the sake of maximizing time. This app helps you to save loads of time because it highlights the main point of an entire article. Time saver! Worth it for $40 annually, not $80.For free, you can have a very similar experience to what this app offers by searching for “inspirational quotes” or “life advice or something in any web browser. The only thing you’d be missing out on is a few paragraphs superseding the quote that explain what the quote means and how to take it’s advice. However, these paragraphs are very well written such that they so briefly and clearly explain the concept in a way where the information sticks and I do not have to worry about re-reading it again to understand the concept. Used to love it, but the recent changes ruined what made it specialI originally downloaded Deepstash because it was a refreshing mix of quick quotes, standalone ideas, short insights from articles, books, podcasts, and more. It felt like a real alternative to mindless scrolling—bite-sized wisdom you could browse freely by topic or search for specific concepts without committing to a full summary. But they’ve completely shifted the app. They got rid of most of the standalone quotes and loose ideas, and now everything is locked behind full book summaries (or at least what they call “ideas” that are just excerpts tied to books). When I search for a topic or idea I used to find easily, half the results are missing, or I have to click into a longer book summary to even see anything relevant. You can’t just casually read and collect random powerful ideas anymore; it’s all funneled into these structured book breakdowns. I loved the diversity before—different books, articles, videos, user-contributed stuff, motivational quotes, practical tips from various sources. Now it feels way more homogenized and limited. The material lacks diversity too; it’s heavy on the usual self-help/business/pop-psychology suspects with not much variety or depth in other areas. Success seems to have turned Deepstash into just another generic book summary app—exactly like the ones it used to stand out from. Good while it lasted, but the magic is gone. NOT FOR VISUALLY IMPAIRED VOICEOVER USERSI will never know what Deepstash is really all about! Why? It doesn’t like VoiceOver much and has quirks even if VoiceOver is disengaged. I need VoiceOver, but I painstakingly spent hours to sign up and build a profile. I had to change my text size to accomplish getting a bio built because Deepstash doesn’t play well with the keyboard and covers up what you type , so you can’t see what you have typed in. Maybe it’s bios are meant to be only three words! Much of the time the app did not allow me to see all the information needed to set up a profile efficaciously. And, at a point, it forced me to follow people about whom I knew absolutely nothing. It was so unsettling I still cannot ascertain what Deepstash is supposed to exactly accomplish for you. Being visually impaired, the wrong photo was added to the profile and could not be corrected even with Apple’s help! That was it for me! I deigned to just remove the bio, but the app wouldn’t allow that either. I spent half a day accomplishing NOTHING! I have lost the taste for this one! I should have stopped when I visited their website and they shoved a privacy policy in my face with a “must agree” so they could fill my browser with unknown cookies! That didn’t feel right! Want To Like It So Bad, But The Most Frustrating App Of All TimeThis app is everything I am looking for. A positive app giving good info to learn from. BUT every time I open this thing are so many settings that drive me crazy and I want to find the settings to change...but instead the app just takes my screen hostage and I can't get out of achievements and moving gradients and being forced trends and counters on top of whatever my screen is on... I just can't use the thing without being so intensely frustrated in record time. Amazing concept poor executionAlthough this app has everything I’d want for personal development use, it feels like they are just trying to make a quick buck. They claim their intention is to promote self development for everyone and “replace social media” but Instagram has never charged me to look at posts. Nor has it made me watch ads to be able to see ideas that I have interest in. If they wish to incorporate ads they should allow them to be optional instead of required, and I don’t believe you should have to pay to access the ideas of others. I understand it is expensive to operate an app, but these actions are what will keep this app from truly exploding. It’s the only reason I haven’t shared it with all my friends. I’m slightly disappointed, and am currently deciding whether or not I will simply delete it or hang around a little longer for possible improvements. I’m leaning more towards deleting it though, as accessing only a LIMITED quantity of content has no appeal to me. I want to be able to open the app any time of day and use it freely at will. It has one major flaw that makes it a deal breakerI’m very disappointed with my experience. The dealbreaker is the read aloud feature. I heard so many good things about this app and was honestly hoping I could just listed to a summary of some book while I’m getting ready, cooking dinner, doing laundry, etc. but the problem is that the voice is that annoying old school computer generated voice. Used to be awesome…I’ve used DeepStash for a couple of years now and have always really enjoyed it. Several months ago, after more than a year of having a paid subscription, I had to cancel my subscription due to a change in my financial situation. Up until the latest update the app was still very usable even without the paid version. After the most recent changes, though, the experience has become frustrating enough that the app is almost useless to me. The quick read feature is completely different now. It no longer shows suggested single ideas/cards on the home page the way it used to, and you can’t move through consecutive ideas without watching ads. That alone would be tolerable if the ads worked properly, but they often don’t. I just had to sit through three separate 30-second ads before the app finally advanced. If you try to close the ad, it forces you to start another one, and you end up stuck in a loop wondering whether the ad will actually register or not. I understand developers need to make money, and subscriptions are part of that. But the new design feels less like encouragement to subscribe and more like the free version has been intentionally crippled. Removing the single-idea suggestions from the home screen was disappointing enough, but the current ad system makes the whole experience clunky and frustrating. They trap you for ongoing serviceLast month I was unexpectedly charged $50 for a premium service from this company that I did not want. I set up a trial. I barely used it. I completely forgot about it and as soon as the charge came through, I immediately disputed it before it even posted to my account. I reached out to the company and they basically told me that they are not obligated to refund me and it’s in their terms of service. I reminded them that I don’t use their service. I didn’t use it and they had just charged me and I wanted my money back because what they are doing is stealing from me. They told me to pound sand and in a condescending manner offered me a partial refund of $25 which they reminded me they weren’t obligated to do. Like they are doing me a favor by giving half of my money that they were stealing back. They forced me to open a merchant dispute, which of course I won. There are laws in California that regulate automatic renewal license licenses called ARL’s. They are in violation of these rules. I love the idea of this app, but...So to start off, the idea of this app is amazing, and I love the UI. It's easy to use, you learn new things every day, and it helps keep me away from social media or mindless games when I'm bored. However, the rampant use of AI in the app is beyond annoying. The art slides don't make sense. A story will show slides of the main character being completely different in each slide. Different race, different facial features, even different genders. On top of that, I've found multiple grammatical and spelling errors within the stories, which tells me there's not even a human editor. Good idea but ad breaks are way too frequentI like the concept. But man. It asks you to join premium or watch an ad like every two minutes. Ads on FB and Reddit and Instagram aren’t as noticeable because you can just keep scrolling past them. Not for meIt’s just very short snippets. You have to read each one in the in the time they tell you in order to get credit for reading each snippet. So if you’re a fast reader or already familiar with the snippet you have to wait for it to think you’re done reading to get credit.
